cause on my galaxy s i can now play snapdragon and tegra apps
cause maybe then we might not need gameloft tegra apps any apps will work
yes buddy, chainfire works very well in a lot of games...try newest version with qualcomm and powervr plugins...and read THIS awesome 3ad created by philburkardt to know how versions\games\tricks to do to have fully working games!
Transformer TF101 already have a high end processor (NVIDIA Tegra Dual-Core) ..can anyone tell me why we need chainfire?isn't our (TF101) processor cant support HD games?i'm new to this device..thanks in advance.. ^^

Chainfire works fine on the Transformer. However, it hasn't helped with any Gameloft games, so far. I pretty much comb the web in search of working Gameloft versions, and have tried MANY combinations of apk, SD data, and Chainfire, for multiple games.
If you try, and manage to get anything working with Chainfire, please let me know. I would love some more playable games.

Because there are still versions of some app/games that only work with Qualcomm or PowerVR chips.

I personally am going to stick with Tegra. The Tegra specific games always look great and run smooth. Plus with Tegra 3 on the way, we're looking at console quality graphics in our pocket/bag.

I know it has been asked since the release of the PSX4droid if a PS2 (or possibly a game cube) emulator would be possible on our android phones. Of course we do not currently have that capability.
However with the advent of these new dual core phones I am wondering if these would be possible. Let's just hope someone other than Zodttd makes a port so it is supported. I also wonder if the extra core would make some games which are unplayable on the PSX4droid playable.
Which cores are dueling?
Cpu 1 vs Cpu 2 Who will win this fight?
U mean Dual Core and we can play PSx Games on our Desires!
And this Answer your question in future we can play PSX Games because we can do it right now ;-)
I wonder what effect dual CPU's will have on the battery life?

That was my first question too
Well.. yeah.. battery would be interesting..
But I thought I heard Samsung would be the first to release them.. and.. as I think 1Ghz by now is quite fast.. I wonder about GPU improvements..

Ps1 games somewhat work. You cant beat any of the Final Fantasy series without using a PC at some point
I am interested if a PS2 will work though as well.

Samsung's Dual Core CPU will have a good battery life they said. As when there ain't much to do, both cores ain't gonna be running.
Is there some sort of work around to play tegra only games on non tegra devices?
I don't think you can

How can the Tegra 1Ghz give a higher performace??? no, it's possible that the code written for the Tegra gives better performance than running on a different chipset maybe, but not if the code is written to work on all... I personally believe Tegra are building there own gaming market so that HW companies will move to there chipset, but that's bad (I can think of stronger words!) and it's not the Android way!

I agree, that's what they are trying to do but the Tegra chip is a dual core 1GHz which gives better performance then just a single core 1GHz.

I thought this phone had tegra inside. Why can't I download any tegra games (pinball) or use the Tegra Zone?
It's a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, not the Nvidia Tegra 2
Why in the world did I think this was a Tegra? Dang. Buyer's remorse.

if the sensation was tooted, we could play some (most of ?) Tegra games on our devices, unsing Tegra fix, Chainfire 3D drivers, etc
So far, and as I had no choice, I just found a "special" version of Pinball HD for Tegra2, that is compatible with non-Tegra devices.
So yes, I installes a warez, blame me, fire me, but I didn't have choice, I would have bought this game if my Sensation had been rooted and then I could get this game legally.
Tegrazone
Hmm i can install the tegra zone... and the game "Dungeon Defenders" works good...
i dont know why the tegrazone are @ the market 4 me )
games like samurai II vengance are only locked but playable with patches from XDA (i think)
you can install Tegra Zone, sure, but it won't let you install the games.
And to apply the patch you're talking about, you need root

Tegra 2 is arguably the worst dual core chip when compared to the snapdragon and Samsung dual cores, but yes, it has the best exclusive games.
I wouldn't be upset with having a Sensation. It's far better than the Optimus 2x and Atrix. More reliable too.
My Sensation is on its way. I'm surprised to hear that the Tegra games won't work w/ non Tegra phones. I don't remember reading that when I bought them. Had most of them on my G2X, but I didn't play them all that much though. I always seem to go back to Angry Birds.
Maybe I'll just sell those Apps.
jk.

Good to see you made the leap ickster - I couldn't get rid of that G2x fast enough myself - after four bad ones I was OVER IT.
Hey guy...Yeah, but I'm holding onto the G2X for awhile to see how it plays out. I still hold out hope for it. I picked up (held) a Sensy at the tmobile store today, felt pretty nice.....I think I'm gonna like it! Can't wait.....already purchased the hdmi adapter and spare batteries and a charger. I'm ready to go.
i knew going in that it would not work.. luckily i have a xoom to cure that need

yes ... why do you think that ??
There was a post somewhere on the myouch forums about a hacked version that would let you install the games... Never tried it but people said it worked. If someone finds it it would be gr8

LOL... please elaborate, tell me you've at least done a little bit of research before forming an opinion like this?
maybe the sensation will be able to use The newly announced "Playstation Suite" that allows us to play touchscreen optimized playstation roms for like $20 or game or something crazy like that I'm sure
Some games like Dungeon Defenders will work because there is actually two versions of the game. The market checks which hardware you have and downloads the right one. I ran it on my MT4G and Tegra 2 tablet and it downloaded a HQ version on my Tegra 2 Tab but SQ on anything other. I know some games are strictly for T2 and will install on other phones (side loading of course) but will not run
Hi,
If I install Chainfire 3D on my Xoom, what are the advantages ? Will I be able to play THD games on it ?

Well the XOOM already has an nvidia tegra 2 chip so you don't need the drivers for that, but you will be able to play qualcom/snapdragon specific games... which.. are there really many of those?
Not 100% sure.. but I don't think there is a real advantage to downloading chain fire on your XOOM.. it's more for people who have a different processor than nvidia and want to play tegra games... like I have a xyboard with a Texas instruments omap processor so I can't play tegra games without chain fire.
And no you will not be able to play tegra 3 games with chainfire but that's OK most tegra 3 games have a tegra 2 variant with less demanding graphics!
Hope that helps!

Thanks for your answer !
But there are a lot of Tegra 3 games that launch only on Tegra 3 and don't want to launch on Tegra 2... But for example COD : BOZ that just came out the day before yesterday launch only with Qualcomm.
So I tried Chainfire 3D on my rooted Xoom, and then it was stuck at the boot logo !! I lost all my data :'(
But I think that COD : BOZ will be updated with support for Tegra.
COD BOZ is only out for Sony Xperia devices for the next 30 days then it will be available for everybody.

Do you think that games like Puddle THD can work with this app ? Because when I open Puddle it says that it can only work on Tegra 3...
If yes what are the options to configure ?

It seems that Puddle is only for Tegra 3 devices.... and there isn't a Tegra 2 version at the moment.
I know in Chainfire 3D there is an option to turn down textures and graphic quality... MAYBE that would work... but I really don't know to be honest. Somebody who already has a Xoom and has tried this may be able to tell you.
Chain3d not working on Xoom Team EOS Wingray rom, when downling the driver, the xoom will reboot and hang at Motorola logo.... You will need to re-flash the whole rom again...

I tried it because I had used it with HC, but it caused some games, i.e. Angry Birds to not render properly. The developer's description on Playstore says that it is not compatible with HC / ICS, so I would only expect problems.
I always thought that Chainfire 3d was to make Tegra games/graphics work on Non-Tegra chips. I mean I used it on a Motorola XT720 and a Samsung Vibrant, neither of which is a Tegra chipped device.

Reading through the Chainfire thread, it looks like there was, at least, the possibility with certain plugins that are or may be written to be used with Chainfire 3d to allow Tegra Zone games to be played on non-Tegra devices or to use different shaders and such.
Thanks for posting, I wrote this thread because I wanted to have tegra 3 graphics on tegra 2. An example is riptide gp that has a lot of effects only
For tegra 3. I,ve found this Guide for Galaxy s3 but I think that it works with asus tf101. The develiper of chainfire 3d says that that it may work with ics/hc/jb but he doesn't know if it works.

I think what you'll find is that Tegra 3 graphics effects are called such because it takes Tegra 3 hardware to have the capability to display them and while an app could be written to run on either platform that there is just no way that Tegra 2 can display Tegra 3 specific effects because they just aren't supported in the hardware. It's like expecting Direct X 11 effects on Direct X 10 hardware, it just doesn't fly.
All that I saw in the first couple of pages of the devs thread was that his app MAY work on other devices, but he clearly states that it is NOT compatible with HC/ICS/JB ROMs.
for example I've enabled tegra 3 graphics on dead trigger and it works for Asus transformer tf101! So I want to try chainfire 3d to enable tegra 3 graphics on other games. I wanted to know if chainfire 3d worked with ics on asus tf101. It may works on ICS, for example it works on Galaxy s3 , that has ics. Finally I think I'll try chainfire 3d on my tablet, if it doesn't boot, I can go on apx mode and unbrick it.
