Hey everyone, first topic.....woohoo.....
Anyway, I had to reinstall a version of Android Revolution HD, 6.1.2 if it helps. Whenever I get to the lockscreen, nothing shows at all. No weather, no shortcuts, no clock, you get the idea.....nothing at all. I looked all over (literally, all over) and I just can't seem to find an answer to my problem. I restart, no progress. I power it off, still nothing. Is there anyone who has or had the same problem as myself? I would greatly appreciate any help rather than another session of trial and error.

There are dedicated q&a threads for each rom, so rom specific questions should be asked there...just a way to keep things clean in each section.
ARHD q&a
edit: Did you check settings by chance? Should be under the personalize section in the settings, then there should be a lockscreen option and you should be able to change the lockscreen from that menu...I'm currently on a CM7 build so I can't verify the actual step by step...worst case scenario is you might have bad flash ..full wipe and reflash the rom and see if that fixes it

Also, why do you still want to use ARHD 6.1.2? 6.1.5 works great, and you don't have to wipe anything when you flash from what you're on.
Thanks for your replies. Actually, it was the setup app that helped me. A tip from my brother really. Anyways, thanks again for your replies.

Can you provide screenshots to elaborate please?
I cant see how a screen shot would help explain the problem.
I have had the phone about a week and have tried most functions, they all seem to work fine.
The ONLY fault seems to be the stock power widget.
I understand the widget is supposed to have 5 customisable functions i.e Wifi, gps, etc toggle switches
But I only get a grey rectangle with 5 blanks.
I assume its a corrupt firmware. (Virgin Media)
I have done hard and factory resets.
Please advise where and how I can reload the stock firmware?

I was only trying to help man... because i wanted to see what you were talking about. No issues... if you feel this is unnecessary, i'll leave you to it.
Cheers.
Have you tried using recovery to reset the entire phone? It should reinstall the os for you.

I've installed ICS: The Real Thing and it's a beautiful ROM. I have an issue with deleting an entire message thread. Each time I try to do so, it vibrates, turns black, and says messaging has stopped working. It then force closes.
Also, I am unable to set permissions for TiBu. I went to settings>security>unknown sources (checked the box).
Any help is greatly appreciated.

And for the Good Cop answer: it's a common bug in UCAL4, delete via the menu rather than long pressing the thread/message.
Promiseofcake, thank you.

Is it possible to get a smaller battery icon and signal meter for this beautiful ROM?

Hi all,
I found a few other people with this issue but no definitive answer on how to fix it.
Just got the ICS update from Orange and all is well (after having to do a factory reset as messages wouldn't load) apart from ringtones.
If I set my own tones for email and txt and ringtones it will work, but any kind of reboot will set it back to default, and it also seems to be if the phone has slept for a long time it will lose the ringtones.
All tones are in either '/sdcard/media/audio/ringtones(notifications or alarms)'
or they are in '/sdcard/ringtones(notifications or alarms)'
These have always worked on previous android versions.
Now, I find what seems to cause this is the SD card not syncing correctly, it is mounted and if I unmount/re-mount it, sometimes the tones will come back.
If I go to 'personalise->sound' The tones say;-
ringtone = quietly brilliant
notification = zeta
alarm = new day
But if I click on the sound set itself it tells me that all my personalised tones are selected.
This is getting very annoying as I will have my ringtone for a few hours, then all of a sudden it jumps back to whatever it fancies.
Is there a known bug or a fix for this, it's only been since the update to ICS.
Thanks for reading and hopefully I have described the issue enough to make sense.
Darren
It's a known issue. I push all of my custom ringtones to its respective directory in /system/media/...
Simple work around.

Ok, thanks.
I kinda knew it would be the answer but wanted to check I wasn't the only one with the problem.
Do you know if this is an ICS issue or is it a sensation issue?
Darren
I think it's an issue with the restarting "media" service

There have been guesses for both, but I believe it happens in the senseless roms as well...

You can also add ring tones and notifications by
Settings- sound- phone ring tone - menu soft key- more ringtone - New ringtone
This way you won't lose ringtones when rebooted. You can also add alarms and notifications the similar way

Thanks for all the answers, I will give them all a go.
With regards to putting the files directly on the phone do I need root access (im not near a pc until later) as I don't really root my devices since them seem pretty stable nowadays.
Thanks

Yes, you would need root access.
ok, thanks to all
I have written an email to HTC to explain the issues and ask when they will fix the problems.
I know Android is still classed as 'a bit geeky' in terms of OS but now it is used on so many devices we shouldn't need to root our phones to change the ringtone, it's almost as bad as an iPhone
If I hear anything back from HTC I will post in this thread.
Darren
I wondered if there had been any update on this? I have tried various Android 4.1 and 4.2,2 roms and it always happens after a reboot (currently CM10.1). I have even tried converting the ringtone to OGG format, placing it the \system\audio\ringtones folder (on phone) and fixing the permissions but that did not work!
I'm (obviously) rooted with an HTC Desire HD. Thanks!
Not sure if anyone else has had this problem, but when I upgraded Viper recently on my phone, text message previews keep coming up on the lock screen (showing my messages). I have the Settings --> Privacy --> Message notification preview, turned off but it still keeps showing the message.
Anyway to still keep the notification (and status bar notification) but leave the preview off? It was working before. Not sure if anyone else has had this problem. I looked for answers but only found the above setting, but no dice.
If anyone anyone can help or provide any suggestions, it would be much appreciated.
I think it's already been mentioned in the development thread and Turge is looking into it.

"""first of all i would like to thank you to making a such a beautiful rom:good:
i have a problem though. when i use the slide to unlock, and then make or recieve a call and talk on my ear and before ending the call phone vibrates and goes to "media link hd setup". i dont know if that is a bug or something else. first i thinked that i push some buttons or something but i tried various times and phone goes to exact same menu.
it is not a big major problem. i know that this rom includes media link properties but with desire s it will not work but what is that. is this just happens in my phone or do you receive these problems? let me know. by the way when i turn it "slide to unlock" of i dont have any problems.""""
I sent this message to the developer. and i am waiting for an answer. if anyone have this problem or solved this please let me know.
Have you installed the kernel with sweep to wake. If so turn off the s2w

I don't know if I installed a kernel. I was using HTC s android4.0.4 kernel and I unlocked from HTC dev tools and then found a topic in xda forum made a full wipe and flashed fallout and with recovery installed this and now I cannot turn the swipe to wake function off
