[Q] ICS Real Thing - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket SGH-I727

I've installed ICS: The Real Thing and it's a beautiful ROM. I have an issue with deleting an entire message thread. Each time I try to do so, it vibrates, turns black, and says messaging has stopped working. It then force closes.
Also, I am unable to set permissions for TiBu. I went to settings>security>unknown sources (checked the box).
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Search button.
Use it.
Many answers and open threads about this.
Always search before posting to avoid getting rocks thrown at you and being set aflame.

And for the Good Cop answer: it's a common bug in UCAL4, delete via the menu rather than long pressing the thread/message.

Promiseofcake, thank you.

Is it possible to get a smaller battery icon and signal meter for this beautiful ROM?

[Q] SMS shows received time not sent time

Hi,
I have a question.. is it possible to change the settings so that text messages that we get show the time as the sent time instead of received time.
I did a search for this on the forums (and google) and i believe someone worked on it for the galaxy s I9000. Is there anything we can do for the Nexus S. I also saw that there is an app called SMS Timestamper fix which adds the correct times to the texts, but i just wanted to know if its possible to fix it in the phone settings itself?
Thanks,
the SMS time fix is only to show received time, not sent time
the sent time should be recorded properly as it uses the time you sent out on your phone

Im not sure if you are thinking the same as me. I dont have any issue with the time being an hour behind the correct time (which is what i understand the time fix is for, but correct me if i am wrong).
The situation I have at the moment is, say i am in an area without reception and people send me smss. I do not receive them, but as soon as i go into an area with reception, all the sms's arrive on my phone. However, the time associated with the sms's is that of when they arrive on my phone (ie when i have just moved back into an area with reception), and not the time they were sent (which would be much more useful).
Hope that makes sense, and sorry if you did understand my problem already.
I have searched in the default messaging app, but i cant find the settings Use original timestamps. Maybe I am missing something.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
I just checked and use original timestamp is there indeed. Check it again man.

very odd indeed... i checked again, i went to messaging app (the default one with the green bubble icon with smiley face), settings, and definitely not there for me. I see settings for delivery reports, but not a "use original timestamp".
I am running the deodexed stock rom with voodoo kernel, posted by master, perhaps this is causing the issue? (i actually believe i have never seen this setting on my phone even when i was running 100% stock with normal kernel).
Is there anyway i can reinstall the default messaging app?

Phone icon gone from Home screen

I recently Flashed GB and Valhalla. I can't seem to get the "Phone" icon on the home screen to show up to get to the dialer pad.
I have contacts - messaging - applications. Any fixes?
Is it in your app drawer? If it is, open the app drawer. Press on the menu key choose edit and drag the phone icon where u want it. Hit menu again then select "save". Let me know if it works.

No I don't see it in there.
Have you rebooted your phone? Maybe back everything up and do a factory data reset. That should fix it.
Sent from my SGH-T959V using xda premium
It's in there, unless you were unlucky enough to get a bad download.

Reset to factory and still nothing. Same 3 icons and it is still not in the app drawer
----------------------
When I drag the phone option on the lock screen to open it..it just freezes, kills and reloads to the lock screen as well as the EDT slide function on the lock screen. The unlock slide works fine.
I would download the rom again and reflash

Fixed. Just re-downloaded the ROM and flashed it. Thanks!

Ish. Well now it just constantly resets and reloads itself ..the launcher.
Constant soft boots.

Bad download would give an error 6 in CWM.

[REQ] Wifi calling icon removal zip

I've been trying for hours to make the wifi calling status bar icon disappear on my g2x, (just like kenvan19 with the sgsII) but I've had no such luck! Could anyone create a flashable zip to eliminate that Godawful icon, or at least explain to me how I could? I've nearly driven myself to wits end!
Any help is greatly appreciated, Thank you!

It doesnt work on the g2x, i tried it. However it did work on my HTC Amaze.

It does work on the g2x just not on some roms. I asked if you clicked it because that's how you get it off your bar.

Titanium backup can remove it. Or you could go into /system/app and remove kineto.apk, that's the wifi calling app. Any time I remove an app that way I make sure to get all instances of the app before restarting. You will more than likely get an error after removing it. A restart solves that.

Are you wanting to use WiFi Calling without the icon showing or Not use it. You can go into your App Drawer and select the WiFi Calling icon and turn off WiFi calling.
Everyone misunderstood, i want to have wifi calling active, with no icon in the status bar.

Home screen redraw

Almost every time I hit the home button from within an app and it goes to my home screen. It has to completely redraw the touchwiz interface. I'm running 100% stock firmware.
I was curious if anyone else was experiencing this problem. I find it very annoying and i feel that since this phone has 2GB of ram it shouldn't be having a problem keeping the home screen loaded while in another app.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I'm confused on what exactly your asking. If course if you hit the home button it's going to go to your home screen. If you're talking about your recent apps, hold the home button then you have plenty of apps to choose from.

Op. For s voice, do you have it set to activate with a double tap of the home key? If you do then that is y get the redraw. S voice is waiting for a second tap to see if it need to activate or just go home. Turn that feature off and it will be snappier
Edit. OK. I see what u mean. Do u have forced 2d hardware acceleration enabled in the development setting?

Yes I do, i thought that may be the culprit but i wanted to see input from elsewhere. Should I disable that?
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda premium
Yes. At the least the 2d thing. The home key to go back to the home screen is a personal preference. I use s voice alot so I like to be able to access it right away

I know what he is talking about. It is the amount of time it takes to get to the home screen when you are in a app. It does take a sec to long to get to the home screen.

I know exactly what you're talking about OP, I have the same issue for a while now, and coincidentally I did some research on this just yesterday and found a couple solutions you might be interested in trying:
Solution #1
Solution #2
Solution #3
Solution #4
I skimmed through the solutions and i didn't see the one i believed i helped a friend with. He has the same issue and he had power saving turned on. Once he disabled it, i want to say it was resolved along with other issues. Try this and maybe activate it again and try running one off at a time to see what one it is. Its been a few weeks at least since i talked with the person. Not sure if you have it on or off.
If none of these other solutions work...are you really tied to using the touchwiz launcher? I know launchers like nova and apex give you the option to force the launcher to remain in memory to prevent excessive redraws.
Personally, changing the double tap S memo option made everything a little faster for me.

Nav & maps FC

I keep getting a maps not responding error if I am using the navigation app and while I'm in it, change my destination or hit the start button. I know the obvious answer is well don't change your destination but if I accidentally hit back I have to select the start button again. It also only seems to happen when I'm traveling. FYI I'm on carbon ROM but I don't think that is the issue. Any suggestions?

Have you tried accessing the application settings and clearing it. Maybe uninstalling and then installing it back. If you use waze or another navigation app does it do the same thing. I myself have switched to copilot as my main navigation app now. Yes it costs but well worth it.
