and probably not it has to be made for a specific build I think.. even if it did work I don't think TSM would like it

The answer is no, your rom would not have the required smali edits for the services.jar and framework. Many edits to the framework go into TSM Parts its not just an .apk

Alright, boot animations?

Our Kernels now have support for them, right? Where is the location?
check /system/media/bootanimation.zip or /data/local/bootanimation.zip
This is what I got!

Just manually move over the bootanimation.zip cause I think his install script needs to be modified.

There is plenty here to keep you swapping for some time. I used these on my fascinate and also on my charge once the kernel came out to have boot animations

I just pasted the bootanimation.zip in both places, and it didn't work when I restarted; it just did the stock animation. What gives?
EDIT: oh wait, I, just remembered I'm running imoseyon's kernel. Ha.

Hey man it actually works pretty good. I can download from any host site with Dolphin HD. When you get to the page, zoom in as much as you can. Hold your finger over the download link and click on on save link and itll download .
To those running GC 2.0, does the included kernal support custom boot animations? I was on PBJT and using the Alice animation but I'm not familiar with this kernal.

Imoseyon's kernel does NOT work with boot animations.

I personally don't like Imoseyons kernel. No custom boot anims(don't get me wrong the GC boot anims are great but still), overclocking(I will personally never use that feature) and some horrid battery life. Maybe it's just me but his kernel gave me attrocious battery life, took the phone off the charger @ 2am, flashed the ROM and the phone was dead by 8am. I normally get double that with much more usage.
I believe I read through the gc thread that you could oc. I could be wrong.

It can overclock, that's a downside for me since it decreases battery life if I'm never going to use it.

It replaces app_process and system_server binaries.
Installed on my Charge. Don't really notice a difference in responsiveness though, unfortunately YMMV.
I was hoping it'd make it as responsive as the LG Revolution :-D
It does work on gingerbread. I just flashed it through cwm without wipe. I am running gummycharged gbe rc2.3 . Running a good bit smoother since!

installed... now unable to open wi-fi radio?
Edit:
Rebooted: Wi-fi came back - both radios were acting strange on first boot up.
Strange, mine didn't give me any issue plus it shouldn't effect the radio at all. Glad you got it solved.
So, you're going to replace the two binary files in 2.3.4 with binaries from 2.3.3? Anyone else think that is a little strange? I'd hope that Google left the improvements made in the binaries in place between 2.3.3 and 2.3.4...
EDIT: I also would not flash that zip file. It does not have the proper updater-script in it. It may still work, but the updater-script should be corrected to ensure it works.

Its 2.3.5 binaries look at my first post, I linked it to his page. Just look at his change log. What I did is take the old Fugu tweaks and removed the files from the .rar and replaced it with the 2.3.5 files. I am running Froyo and before this I had the fascinate and used Fugu tweaks on 2.2 as well as the captivate. Whats wrong with the update script? If it worked with the old Fugu why wouldn't it work to flash the same files?

Google how to enable crt screen off animation its from rootzwiki. Let me know if you were successful cause I bricked my Phone, I really want that animation also. Pm me

Try the attached framework-res.apk file. Place it in the /system/framework folder using rootexplorer. It worked for me, but no guarantees. Don't get mad at me if this bricks your phone.

I the framework-res.apk file is for humble 4.22. You can pm me the framework-res.apk file from system/framework folder and I can update it to have the crt animation.
breaker911 what are you modifiying inside the framework to enable the crt screen animation? I found a guide which points to an XML file that does not exist inside my framework files.
I would love to learn to do this myself.
Thanks.

follow this guide: http://rootzwiki.com/showthread.php?462-HOW-TO-Enable-CRT-animation-on-ANY-2.3-device&. There is a typo on the guide, it says to open bool.xml, but it should say bools.xml. Then follow the guide exactly and you should be good to go.

There is also a theme available in the themes section that includes the crt animation and also gets rid of the poo color. Download it, mount system, flash, and you're set.

I've just recently got a xoom and I like the tablet as a whole. But I've been unimpressed with the amount of lag, especially In the web browser. I know I can overclock the cpu to 1.5 ghz and can overclock the gpu but I'm clueless about adb and all that stuff. I've read the threads and downloaded the files and still don't really get it. Any suggestions. Also I'm not an android noob lol I've successfully rooted a OG droid and droid charge

You will be happy once you've rooted. Just take your time and make sure you have everything ready. Practice manually rebooting/booting into recovery--get a good feeling for using the volume/power buttons. You will be fine.

Thanks, What kind of deodex tools you using? I could never figure out how to deodex the apk for maps.
I was finally able to decompile/recompile framework-res and systemui this morning without any errors (or my phone going into a boot loop after I push either to the system), along with all other ICS apk's. It figures I read about this tool right after I figure it out lol

Awesome! But I'm still confused. Since the UCALC4 leak I had not been able to use apktool, apk multi-tool,xdaAutoTool, etc. (bad magic values and such). However, for some reason, as soon as you came back from tour and came out with the first Sky ICS ROM base, I could decompile apks again (smali files and all) with no errors or bad magic value nonsense. Why would that be?
