What exactly is getting tweaked?

Here's more information if you're looking for it:

And also: "This is for froyo only. It "may" work on GB but it's not tested."

Can we flash through CWM without wiping yet? Has there been a fix for this? Running the newest Gummy on ext4

I edited my main post, read above. Sorry guys.

It replaces app_process and system_server binaries.

Installed on my Charge. Don't really notice a difference in responsiveness though, unfortunately YMMV.
I was hoping it'd make it as responsive as the LG Revolution :-D

It does work on gingerbread. I just flashed it through cwm without wipe. I am running gummycharged gbe rc2.3 . Running a good bit smoother since!

Glad to hear .

installed... now unable to open wi-fi radio?
Edit:
Rebooted: Wi-fi came back - both radios were acting strange on first boot up.

Strange, mine didn't give me any issue plus it shouldn't effect the radio at all. Glad you got it solved.

So, you're going to replace the two binary files in 2.3.4 with binaries from 2.3.3? Anyone else think that is a little strange? I'd hope that Google left the improvements made in the binaries in place between 2.3.3 and 2.3.4...
EDIT: I also would not flash that zip file. It does not have the proper updater-script in it. It may still work, but the updater-script should be corrected to ensure it works.

Its 2.3.5 binaries look at my first post, I linked it to his page. Just look at his change log. What I did is take the old Fugu tweaks and removed the files from the .rar and replaced it with the 2.3.5 files. I am running Froyo and before this I had the fascinate and used Fugu tweaks on 2.2 as well as the captivate. Whats wrong with the update script? If it worked with the old Fugu why wouldn't it work to flash the same files?

Anyone try this with humble 1.51?

Will this tweak wipe anything out? No.
Will the recovery for GB cause your phone to wipe? Maybe depending on what recovery you have. Last I remember there was a fix for that, I dont have GB therefore I am not to sure.
It works on humble 1.6 but the boot animation is black. Just wait for a few minutes on the black screen and it will boot normally.

@droidnewb2000 yes it works but itll break the boot animation, I dont know why it does it.
@phillthedrill this replace the binary files with files from Honeycomb which are more responsive, the files are app_process and system_server.
@Grillrd sorry you dont see much of a difference. I notice a huge improvement and so does my girlfriends Inspire 4G and friend Infuse 4G.
@DirgeExtinction thanks for the feedback, I have updated my first post to let everyone know.

Damn man, sorry to hear that but it seems like your the only one it caused this problem for. Ive tried this many times... The most i can say is wipe, install the rom and let it fully boot up. Then flash fugu. This tweak is universal and MANY people without charges use this tweak without problems.
I'm running Humble 1.51 with Voodoo and Super Charged V6, so my phone already feels snappy. However, I ran Linpack prior to flashing. My scores ranged from high 15's to low 16's. After flashing, Linpack consistently gave me scores in the 18 sec range. That is with NO overclocking, as I'm using the PBJ kernel. This was an easy to use, worthwhile mod imo.

If you flash another kernel after loading up the Rom, check to see if you need to manually mount /system again before you flash the kernel. For some reason i had to mount it again. Then i updated the kernel. I also wiped both caches again.

I have been running it all day, and it is outstanding. Really great, and so far no crazy static sound. That was a big deal for me because so far every gb rom made that noise. This so far no problems at all. Also, the browser is okay. I use dolphin so I know it is smooth.

Just flashed this and there are a few differences between this and EP4. I never had the static radio issues so this didn't affect me. The new lockscreen is interesting, kind of like honeycomb but you can touch anywhere on the screen to start the "circle." It replaces both of the other ones, leaving no options in display settings. Interesting, but I still prefer the GB or ICS one over this.
No changes have been made to the theme, it is still poop and pumpkin with some green on the toggles.
Also, the touchwiz interface is MUCH faster than I remember, giving me almost no lag even with all the bloatware. Maybe it's because I'm still running ext4/PBJT, but it shouldn't make that big of a difference.
I have found no traces of that backdoor technical support system yet. Idle RAM usage is surprisingly low at around 270MB on boot (with nothing cached yet).
Other than that there are no noticeable changes. I cannot comment on the lag on a fully stock device. It is about as smooth as Eclipse with ext4/PBJT though, so I think there is an improvement. I would say that overall it is the lamest update since I bought my charge unless you had the audio issue, and I proceeded to flash Eclipse back within 20 minutes.
EDIT: Guess I didn't remember how clean Eclipse was after all. Wow on boot Ram usage is at 203MB nice

Sorry I forgot to test it. But like motcher said it might be the kernel. I don't know how much they changed wifi (whether it is in just the icon or in the kernel) and I am not reverting to full stock for just testing lol
If you are having wifi issues it is most likely due to the fact you are not running the full FP1 OTA. If you have flashed a custom kernel you will no longer have wifi.
Dwitherel posted the fp1 patch yesterday. I flashed on clockwork recovery(wipe data/cache) everything works. 4g is a lot more stable. I run tweakstock, but I guess it might work for eclipse since its just radios. Wifi works perfct too
Sent from my SCH-I510 using XDA
If you want to use an EP4 kernel with FP1, take the file /system/modules/bcm4329.ko from an EP4 ROM, and put it on your FP1 ROM in the same location, over-writing what is already there.
So was the wifi driver updated? What was changed?

The kernel was updated. Flash the OTA ROM and you'll see it has a new version, and based on what Samsung did with the versioning on the phone, FP1 and EP4 kernels and modules aren't cross compatible.

You need system mounted as R/W to do this, and you likely also have to reboot to get it to work. If that doesn't work, something else is screwed up then.

Tonsit vs. Pbj

They are more alike than different. Don't read too much into what I put in there - sometimes I'm just lazy and use what I have already on my computer, and am then too lazy to remake packages after a new kernel was released.
Plus, you can always flash whatever you want afterwards right?

It's just a permissions thing - not really sure why it happens, but there are a number of solutions. Flashing the superuser zip from androidsu, theres a little batch file package I posted in the OP of the Tweaked thread that can be used (along with the permission change commands - which could be used instead if set up and what not), rebooting a few times - all those things have led to the problem disappearing. I occasionally try little things in updater-scripts to see if the problem sticks or not... Out of curiosity, what Tweaked package did you flash?

Yeah. It only did it with the 5/24 pbj kernel. With the tonsit kernel root was fine along with everything else. Its working quite well with the tonsit kernel too anyway thanks for the development man. Really appreciate it. Ive been wanting to start developing just havent gotten around to it

I changed the root script so that it sets the proper permissions on the su binary on every boot. no idea why people are still having issues with it.
Interesting. I was on tonsits' kernel and updated to 2.1 via TweakTools. Lost root, but flashed the SU binary immediately and it was no big deal.

I also lost root when flashing 0524PBJ. Flashing the binary didn't fix it. Ultimately, I reflashed Tweaked 2.1 w/ tonist. Any chance of getting a Tweaked version with the 0524 kernel?
