Try the attached framework-res.apk file. Place it in the /system/framework folder using rootexplorer. It worked for me, but no guarantees. Don't get mad at me if this bricks your phone.

I the framework-res.apk file is for humble 4.22. You can pm me the framework-res.apk file from system/framework folder and I can update it to have the crt animation.

breaker911 what are you modifiying inside the framework to enable the crt screen animation? I found a guide which points to an XML file that does not exist inside my framework files.
I would love to learn to do this myself.
Thanks.

follow this guide: http://rootzwiki.com/showthread.php?462-HOW-TO-Enable-CRT-animation-on-ANY-2.3-device&. There is a typo on the guide, it says to open bool.xml, but it should say bools.xml. Then follow the guide exactly and you should be good to go.

There is also a theme available in the themes section that includes the crt animation and also gets rid of the poo color. Download it, mount system, flash, and you're set.

I modified the framework and now it just seems like the screen animation I use to have but with no lag to it.I didn't get the crt animation just the original one but faster

I modified the framework on mine and will push it to my phone later since I am going to flash the deodexed version anyways. Either way I am also going to try on the deodexed version as well.
I will let you know how it goes.

Tried this on both stock odexed 2.3.5 and deodexed 2.3.5 and it is a no go. I might go through the greys themes mentioned to see if there are any other changes that i might be missing.

Looking for a good, recent bootanimation.zip tutorial

Been trying to make my own and I keep getting a black screen only. I'm not sure if it's the png files I'm winding up with, or my desc.txt but it's not really working for me. I know that my kernel supports bootanimation.zip, I've tested this with the angry android one, so it's not that there's no support.
HELP! Thanks in advance.
Can u tell me which kernel are u using mine doesnt work with boot animation
Sent from my SGH-T959V using XDA App
I'm using Bali 2.1 UV. It's had bootanimation support since its first release for the SGS though. I doubt you'd get that working with any stock kernel
Search this very forum for a thread started by bl4ckphenix about boot animations.
It's one of the older threads, back in the kb5 days, when all we had was krylon's kernel for it.

Gingerbread CRT Screen off animation

Here's the framework-res.apk to enable the CRT screen off animation, unfortunately you'll have to reboot into recovery and do a full wipe if you get FC's. Rename to framework-res.apk before moving.

So, is there a way to get the screen on animation as well? Is it being worked on?

peek not peak
It is here for kg4
No screen shots yet though. Look at the froyo one. it should look like that.
I pushed the files using root explorer, rebooted my phone and I got stuck in a bootloop. I'm currently going to odin back to kd1 and try flashing kg4 and then flashing the cwm package. I'll post my results once I see what happens.
I just odined back to kd1, flashed deodexed version of kg4 and then the GB Theme Version X and I got the same result as pushing with root explorer. My phone is just in a boot loop. So I am going to odin back and wait to see if anyone has some suggestions. So if you guys got any suggestions, let me know, I'm down to test things.
I will test in a few days. I am busy right now.

For tests and giggles. PLEASE TEST FOR MY SAKE
To those who want to test.
First. Push the systemui.apk to /system/app.
If that works
Push the framework-res.apk to /system/framework
If that is the problem, then I will recompile a new framework. There may have been an issue where I may have accidentally signed it.
If it isn't the problem, then I will redo the apps.
Anyone test yet?

Tested like this, after pushing the apps to /system/app I did a reboot and had no problems, all the icons and everything had changed successfully. But then I pushed the framework-res.apk to /system/framework and then rebooted and now I'm back into a boot loop, so I am going to odin back again.
But my guess is there is just something wrong with the framework-res.apk

[MOD] ICS Transition Animations

Hey guys, I'm trying to port over the ICS transition animations over to the CM nightlies via this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1342117
I did everything to a T numerous times and every time I push the newly modified framework-res.apk into my system/framework via Root Explorer I'm always hit with FC's and when I reboot I get hit with bootloops.
Anyways I was wondering if anyone else can see how to get this working on the G2x, any help would be great!
just wandering isnt the framework for cm7 different from the framework for ics so that may be the problem. just my thoughts.
You are aware that this is done in the computer, not inside the rom, you have to do this with the zipped rom, and then flash it.

Yes I took the framework, decompiled it, replaced the old animations with the ICS ones. Then I recompiled it, signed it, and then tried to push it into my system and get loops every time. What I'm doing should be working but its not. So was wondering if someone who knows more about this could see why its not working.

Not that it will likely help much, but it is not required to sign system apks. Furthermore, are you making any XML edits? If so did you make sure to remove the edited files and the resources file?

Thanks for the response! Yes, I edited the XML and added two lines. And I deleted the resource.arsc file as well. You think you can give it a shot and see if you can get it to work?
I hope anyone else can chime in this. I'm eager to get this working.

There are way cooler transitions than ics don't waste your time
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
System files should never be resigned after editing them. That is why APK Manager asks you if it is a system file. It doesn't sign it. Just compile it and then zip align it. Don't sign it and try it again. Also when I recompile system files I never say Yes to the last question about copying everything over to the keep folder. I just recompile from the files in my project folder and I never have problems.
I think the ea asiest way of doing this is deleting the anim folder in the framework-res.apk and drag/drop ics anim folder into that apk. It might ask you if you want to add, just click yes. And then just push the new modded framework-res to your phone with adb. That's what I did from cm6 to cm7. It might be different with ICS....its worth a shot. Hope this helps.

You have to tell people what rom you are using. The framework files are not the same between the different roms. You just can't use a modified framework meant for another rom.
i have miui 11/18 but ill switch to cm7 if you can get it working on that
I GOT IT !!! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1342117&page=14
find the patcher by DaxElectro and download it , it works with miui and cm7 , once you make the 2 zips go into recovery mode and go to mounts and storage than mount system than flash the patch zip and enjoy ics transitions , i tested it with miui and it works

[Q] Boot Animation & Sound

Could you use root explorer to add an .oog audio file in the sub folder and name it something?Or go into system/bin. Open the boot animation file with the correct program and ad a line to lead to the audio file? I know really in depth but an idea. Might also have to link to framework which is to much trouble for me atleast as I dont have that kind of brains.
