hi this is my first post and wanted to know if anyone else is having issues with this speed test app, it works great showing the download speed , but on upload speed it stalls then says network communication issue. i have tried uninstall then installing the app and nothing seems to work, I even tried different servers, thanks for all your help with the issue
Hey J welcome to the forum. I just tested my connection speed there and had no problems at all. Don't know what to tell you, but it seems to be working OK for me.

same issue for me as well getting 8+ mb down and 2+ up before the network issue.

Not sure which ROM version this started with, may just have been D3xter's 1.3
When trying to upload anything the upload just freezes. This happens uploading to DropBox, to Facebook, when starting the upload test in the SpeedTest.net app, when tethered and I try to send something, pretty well every time an upload begins.
It is not my carrier as my wife's phone works just fine (hers is still on 2.1).
Has anyone else experienced this, any suggestions?

Wind has issues with uploads over 3g, intermittedly. Its a known issue, and also occurs on the laptop dongles too. (I have both services through wind)
Best suggestion is to just phone in and see if you can get tech support on the line to let them know about your issues.

I am having strange problem with my DS.
I cannot connect to my Google account,Facebook App is not working and...
Well to cut the story short pretty much any app that requires connection to the internet+credentials will not connect.Amazon appstore,Tweetcaster,Tweetdroid,Friendcaster...you name it...the only one that works is official Twitter App(weird).
When I'm tring set up my Google account all I'm getting is "Cannot establish reliable connection..." I know I am connected to the internet cos I'm writing this post on my phone.browsing internet is the only thing I can do.
Now I was searching net for this problem and the only suggestion was HARD Reset.I can rule that out cos I went even further.I flashed 5 different ROMs and problem still persist.
Next thing on my mind was there is something wrong with my carrier.Nope.rang them up and they claim all is ok on their side.I'm on 3UK and I have iPhone4 as well on 3 UK.on iPhone4 everything works flawlessly so I swapped SIM cards.guess what...the same thing on DESIRE S.
I am no noob and I went through literally all the platforms being able to solve 99% of my problems on my own but this one seems to be bigger than me.
If anyone came across this problem before or knows the answer please help.

Okay, lets try to solve this one quickly.
First, some history...
When did this start happening?
Was everthing working well initially, and then suddenly this problem popped up, or has it been like this from the beginning?
Have you recently done any kind of modding or flashing to your phone prior to this?
Then, some diagnostic tests.
Do you have wifi?
If you do, Can you connect?
If you can, do your apps work well with the wifi connection?

I did flash few ROMs while trying to fix this problem.no luck there.
And yes.it all started all of a sudden.before I was one happy DS owner.

Could you please go to Setting> Wireless & Networks> Mobile Networks and check if toggling Network mode helps?
Also make sure that you've selected the correct Access Point Name (The APN should say www)
Let me know what happens.
Nope.tried switching mobile networks on/off.nothing.airplane mode on/off also no luck.APN is right and I can confirm that cos I can browse Internet.it seems that downloading is fine but as soon I try "send something out" like email or tokens to connect to certain services it fails.

Must say i'm at a loss here. Usually whenever i have issues like this, going through the steps mentioned above rectifies it.
Sorry brother, i'm out of ideas here. Will try asking around for more. I hope someone with a better understanding of this will be able to help you out.

Have you tried different kernels? (Clutching at straws (but worth a punt)).
When you wipe before a clean install what do you do? Try the link in my sigi.
Any progress with your problem? If not I suggest you pm ben_pyett or olyloh or lowveld.

Hi guys.sorry I have been off the forum for a while.
This is totally strange.i found out that this is happening only at certain place.when I am at work problem is there but as soon as I get home everything works fine.it must be something related to cell I am connected to while in my work area.my colleague told me he is suffering from the same thing.he has HTC Desire HD and custom ROM on board and he is also 3UK customer.but what I don't understand at all is that my iPhone works like a charm using the same network.obviously I called customer service again and they claim there is nothing wrong with the network.

I have had my Galaxy S 4G about 1 month now and I'm a newb to Android. I've not rooted or done anything other than load more apps from the Market to try and learn more about this phone. It is out of the box stock as of 9/2011
My Wifi shows that it is on and logged on to my router at home and when I run the SpeedTest.net app it shows that ping works (though slow) and then the download runs but then times out with a network error.
All I do is toggle off the wifi and then back on again and try it again and suddenly it works fine for some extended time.
I have an I-pod touch that always works along with a laptop that has no issues with the 802.11 g connection from the same chair that I'm sitting in with the phone.
It is an annoyance to keep having to check for "quality of service" issues with an internet connection. You never know when you will have to toggle the service back on again or if you are just looking at a server issue on the other end of the connection

Not to my knowledge. I had my SGS4G back in February before the KD1 update and never had the problem. It wouldn't be a T-Mobile issue as, whatever the problem is, is between your phone and the router. So T-Mobile is out of that equation.
Maybe try a factory data reset? Just a thought to see if it helps. I can't think of a good reason it would but it's just an idea. Given that you're not rooted nor running any custom ROMs or firmware I don't want to even think about pointing you down that road.
Have you tried it with more than the 1 router in the house? If it's a problem with wifi in general it could be defective hardware. If it's only with the 1 router then there could be other variables at play (type of router, security on it, & the SGS4G not liking that, etc.)
I'm rambling...but stumped a bit.
Called t_mobile support and once I got to the second level support person she had me stop by a store and get an updated Sim card.
My original card was 7 years old. I really didn't think that would matter, but so far it seems to have done the trick.

Hey gang, hoping someone else has had experience with this.
Just out of the blue tonight my play store downloads have become very very slow.
I'm running on Carbon Rom, and have been since Sunday, with no issues. My download speeds on speed test are the same as always, and web browsing, facebook, and everything else seem just fine.
Anyone else have this problem?
I had that quite a few times and usually is a server issue cause by a lot of traffic.
I hope it's just a server issue. i'm getting close to 30mb /sec on my 4g, and my wifi is fine too. Everything else is great except for the play store. I even flashed a different rom to see if it made any difference and everything was the same.
It is definitely server as everything should be slow in regards to 4g and wifi not just Google play.
Must be a server issue, it happens to me too. I just cancel and restart a few times and it's back to LTE speeds.

Anyone else have flaky 3G mobile data after upgrading to MaximusHD rom?
I noticed when 3G works, it works fine, but it would lose network connection very randomly.
WOrking fine one minute and then not working the next.
Any ideas?

well I noticed webpages were sometimes not loading, just kind of stuck there not loading. This was on the default internet browser.
But I also noticed that I could have internet on a different app, say tapatalk. So, I installed titanium backup, froze internet browser and installed a different one from the play store. One Browser is the one I have chose.
Been a day and haven't had a single issue since.
I'm having this issue across all programs, not just the browser. I didn't even install the default browser to begin with. Darn. Hopefully it gets fixed soon.
