firefly 3.0 multiple issues - General Questions and Answers

hi... i recently installed the FireFly 3.0 rom but i got some problems...
1. i installed a game and when i try to play that game is in slow motion and laggy
2. my battery when i unplug the ac adapter says 99% then in a few minutes says 98% and im not using my captivate at all
3. some apps when i open it are very slow, i have to use a Fast Reboot app to clean memory, some times cleans 170 Mb or 150Mb

SKyFire on HTCS710

Has anyone suiccessfully ran the SkyFire browser on the HTCS710?
I have donwloaded it a couple of times and when installing get the message - this is not compatible with your device?
I am using it with no problem at all. Did you download proper version for non-touchscreen device?
I'm using. It's not working well... One page and restart
I've no problem running Skyfire on the S710. Although I'm using Custom Firmware.
Even youtube plays without problem!
Ok - thanks guys - at least I know it should install, i'll just keep trying.
BTW i am running WM6.1 Clean Rom made by Fireburned, but i guess that should not make any difference!
Success at last

Well just tried downloading for the 5th or 6th time in the last 2-3 days and it has instaled and sppears to be running well, though it does seem alittle slow on GPRS - will have to try it on WiFi
SkyFire works fine on my S710,
bust some times its too slow -> servers are overloaded
i agree it does seem slow, even when i am using it on wifi and i am still trying to get used to the zoom and mouse functions!
it is really slow and it drains the battery so quickly, i wouldn't use it unless you have a nearby power supply! other than that, no problems...
This is the answer to most of my prayers. Finally! I was beginning to lose faith with my HTC s710.
Thunderer, my one installed and loaded just fine with no glitches. I also experience slowness though. The audio plays just fine with no glitches but the video freezes for 95% of the time and then stutters for the last 5.

[H]elp! My Thrill getz freeze!

Hiho all! I got strange problem - my O3D is freezing when I leave the phone at night to load the battery. I'm waking up morning and first, what I do is removing the battery and inserting it back and turning on Thrill. Maybe someone of you - members - know why it's getting freeze.
I'll try to help, first can you tell me what you've done to the phone after you first got it?
Did you root your phone?
Did you try to apply CWM?
Did you apply any tweaks?
Did you install any apps?
My guess is that the problem is coming from some apps that you've downloaded.

Sadly freezing of SOD (sleep of death) is a LG problem, a few of their units suffer from it and it seems to be a LG coding issue (maybe even down at driver level), some O2X and some O3D have the problem (or moe than others), even CM development for the O2X ran across it (dunno if they fixed it) a while back.
Without any real proof I think it's actually a radio issue, I've experienced it a few times, not often just 3-4 times since I got mine like two months ago and the only other thing that has shown any problems is the radio, bluetooth and WiFi specially.
Bluetooth and WiFi can sometimes just refuse to activate without a reboot and 2 times I know specifically that bluetooth tried to activate before, couldn't and after that SOD, when BT and WiFi is working then no SOD and no problems.
But that's just my own observations, as I said no real proof.
Dear TheFirlen,
Almost same problem here... I realized that my usb port gets hot if i leave it on charge and even cant handle usb mass storage mode. If i unmount my 32gb sdcard and leave it for a while to cool down the usb slot. After that my lg can be recognized by my compu but around 10 mins later i lost usb connection. So i guess u may have the same issue. Without my sdcard i can charge the phone %100 but still unstable because i may get SODs during daily usage and this is annoying. I am thinking to wait GB update and if the problem is still there i will send it to RMA. Hope this helps...

Hmm,
Well, it might be a problem with the apps. Always worth a try.
My phone would freeze before too until I found out the problem was related to a few apps. After uninstalling them, there was no problem anymore.
-Advenced Task Killer
do you use its autokill feature and are you making sure that the apps that you attempt to kill won't affect the system? Truthfully, task killers arn't really needed except for closing or restarting that one app that is malfunctioning. If you only use it that way, it shouldn't be this apps problem.
- HTC_IME mod
- Keyboard Calibration for HTC_IME mod
I don't know about these two apps and did not find them on the market. These might be a reason too.
-Root Uninstaller
This might be a possible reason too if you use it to uninstall certain system apps.
For me, the problem was usually related to apps. First time was because I used tasker to set a profile of taking a picture whenever screen turned on. Apparently, it would work sometimes, but when it doesn't work...that's when phone freezes and I'm unable to unlock. Removing that task solved the problem.
A second time was from Automatic Task Killer, where it was set to close a few apps whenever screen turned on. Uninstalling that fixed the problem.
Now, I haven't experienced any freezing for the past few weeks.
However, it might be that Echts is right and your suffering from an issue that is not apps related. You could always try a hard reset or exchange it for a new one.
PROTOCHIP - I had the same problem with USB as you, but I solved it. I bought compressed air and injected to usb in phone - it worked for me.
DevJackey - Only Advanced Task killer can be a reason, cuz:
- With root uninstaller I didn't uninstalled anything
- HTC_IME mod is keyboard - stable
I will check it later - now playing Dead Island

Or if you want to get rid of the hassle with cables...
download an app like Samba File-Sharing set up a username and password.
Then connect to wifi and you'll find the device under your Network. Make it a network drive like I did and you'll be able to press it to view all folders and files on your sdcard and external sdcard.
Exactly the same as if you had plugged in a cable and mounted it. Except with this, you have the added benefits of not using a cable and only using WiFi and the benefit of not having your sdcard mounted the entire time.

From this yesterday post I haven't any freeze. I have done some settings in ATK (Advanced Task Killer). Apps&Processes, which ATK is NOT killing now:
- weather
- Market
- com.lge.omadmclient
- PowerAMP
No freeze, no lag btw I dunno what is com.lge.omadmclient process...
//EDIT:
Btw Software Data Cable is IMHO better than Samba File Sharing

Actually... I was suggesting it to PROTOCHIP because he was still having the USB problems.
I took a look at the app you recommended. Tried it out, but can't tell how it is better. Transfers appear to be slower and you must choose to start the service and stop.
I went back to using Samba because I like how you could choose to set it as a network device and it'll always be ready for file transfers as soon as phone is connected to WiFi
Maybe yes - but it was just my opinion
Mine freezes up to 4 times a day whether connected via USB or not. It has only started doing this since the new update. It NEVER froze the 4+ months earlier. I stopped all the running appz and watched the running appz screen. When I sent it a text the messaged appz started up, but so did 2 games in the background!
When it is connected to the PC. The PC still beeps when you disconnect it.

GTR v7.8 Google play cant access + MIUI based on 4.0.4 Hangs a lot

I have tried so many ROM but have had satisfactory performance with GTR till now. I badly wanted 4.0.4 but the none of the ROM doesn't last for more than 10 hours on heavy usage. Whereas GTR last around 20-2 hours on the same heavy usage.
So I came back to GTR v7.8. I tried some other ROM and did Clean Wipe and installed GTR but now I am not able to access Play Store. I am getting SERVER ERROR. I can access Internet with all other apps only Play store doesn't get connected. Tried Installing it again. Still the same result!!
And I loved the new MIUI.us 2.6.29. This seems to be a great improvement in Battery life. But Hangs as soon as it boots into the main screen. And the touch becomes unresponsive, Can anyone help me as why this happening??
Please Help me out

[Q] question about gapps & offline charging

hello,
m using ics cm9 for my lg optimus net
i downloaded gapps also, but after flashing them i did not notice any change!! even i have to download gmail app from play store ater flashing gapps,
then what is the use of gapps in a custome rom?
also what is the meaning of 'offline charging' ???
Offline charging is when you turn the phone off, then plug it in to charge it. If offline charging is enabled in your phone, then it will not turn on, and it will only charge. Most CM9/10 ROMs have offline charging disabled, because it wasn't working right. So, if you plug in the charger, the phone will power on.
The LG Optimus series have a small /system partition, so users often have a problem with it filling up, and when you flash gapps, it doesn't all fit. This is deifnitely a big issue with all CM10 ROMs, but less so with CM9 ROMs. Just make sure you have enough free space on /system when you flash gapps.

Hyperdrive issues (Note 3)

Just installed this ROM. So impressed with what Ive seen online and I know its a great ROM because of all of the happy users. I had it humming for about the first 30 minutes - all was well. I was dragging my music over into files onto my phone and it crashed. Im having some significant issues. If anyone could weigh in with some assistance or tips, that would be great. Thanks.
1. everything is delayed and choppy instead of fast and smooth. All 4 processors show high percentage of usage (over 75 % each)
2. I now cannot drag files from my laptop onto my phone at all
3. When I use Hyperdrive Hub to change my icons, the changes do not materialize.
4. Bluetooth syncing in car wont work
5. sms wont send texts
