Virtuous Codename: Trentacinque Beta
Maybe some of you already saw on Virtuousrom Website that I was able to leak some screenshots of the new Virtuous ROM. But now I was able to leak a complete build from them *lol*
But now to the "real" stuff:
The rom itself is based on the Runnymede RUU 1.05.401.4. After some days with trying to make this build really stable we still need to say this rom is still in a early build state. So be aware that there will be some problems left. Also there aren't any tweaks at the moment in the rom. We first want to make it stable and then begin to add some nice features.
As you maybe already saw we have no name for the rom at the moment. Therefore we started a thread in our own forum where we got a lot of suggestions for it. We will now try to pick up the best five suggestions and then start a poll here on XDA.

I'm not sure what changed in the Sense Exchange sync app but I can't sync with my companies now . Deal breaker for now and back to my old Virtous rom.
I get the following incompatible error: Device encryption enabled
Installed and everything works. GPS, wifi, mobile and sync restored my apps and settings. Not getting any lag and also noticed the weather animation sounds no longer crackle on inspire. It's definitely in good shape for a beta.

Great! I really like HTC Sense 3.5. I'll waiting for the final release. For now I flashed the RCMix3D Runnymade 3.3 and works flawlessly . Recommended!

Can someone test bluetooth voice dial? 2.39 locks up and requires a battery pull, very frustrating when I go to press the button to answer a call that hangs up and I end up locking up my phone...

I just setup my account and exchange works fine. The company I work on uses Exchange 2010 and it works fine.
Anyone else having a blue screen effect when trying to watch videos on portrait mode?

@spoondefy we are aware of the video playback bug and hope to fix soon.
We will look at adding the bliss launcher and quicklaunch widget as a tweak in future releases.

Question
Not specifically a deal breaker. I have tried several 3.5 ROMS and have a favorite but always tend to want to go back to Virtuous. But will the camera on this ROM feature a working self portrait mode? I have a cam apk from a 3.0 rom that i can install on my current 3.5 rom and it works but when i reboot phone is reverts back to the stock cam. Just wondering is that a feature HTC removed from the 3.5 roms?

This is by far the best Sense Rom that I have used. I have no problems with Exchange or bluetooth voice dial(for those of you that were wondering). All of the other Sense roms have some weird issues that I have found no solution to. RcMix3d doesnt even boot even with full wipe of data/cache/Dalvik. And some of the others have weird things like Navigation just FCs every time i try and use it, or they are just slow. Anyway nice work on the Rom, love Virtuous stuff always smooth and is my old reliable if I am in a Sense mood for the day(yes the day, i have a flashing addiction, its a problem, i am working on it). Thanks again
I could not wait any longer for the final which I believe its been released next Monday, and flashed the beta2. Everything is super smooth and have not encountered any issues. Way to go Virtuous!
Just wanted to post, I loaded this rom today coming from Unity 2.39 and what a nice upgrade. Everything is working really smooth so far. Very happy with the upgrade. Was going to wait for the final but this beta is as good as a final.

This ROM is built off of the T-Mobile OTA update that amazinglarry311 rooted and posted here. It has a Cyanogen kernel that is slightly overclocked to 576mhz. I've removed the T-Mobile crap, added a few useful things, and made a few framework mods to make it look better. This works with the original myTouch(32b) may work with the 32a and G1. Flash at your own risk. I'm not responsible for bricked phones. Make sure you wipe before flashing. I have also attached the blue dot wallpaper from Gingerbread if you want it.

This one you have to wipe. I tried flashing it over my last and it boot looped. The main difference in this one is the themed status bar. I'll be adding the gingerbread keyboard to the first update. Im gonna try out some other gingerbread apps tonight to see which ones will work and are an improvement.

I just wiped it all then flashed this ROM.
-snappier than the previous Jbrew... maybe ADW is laggy :/?
my apps didn't back up automatically but who cares cause i feel thats the problem that 2.2 has, its stalls everything up
-market downloads really quick on multiple downloads unlike before
-the GPS ping is right on the money
-i seem to be recieving all my texts all morning long
-3D gallery is laggy as usual but its not a big deal
-stock music app doesn't recognize half the artist, list them as unknowns (a trend I see with all Froyo roms)
-a couple apps close down when I try to open them, not habitual. More random if anything

NO Swap, it sucks . no compache, DONT put the app in home memory and DONT use the 3D app drawer. Launcher needs to better support these two. (Not JBrews fault)

It has been a while since I've flashed roms on this phone. I've tried RA and Clockwork and both end up in boot loops after flashing the rom... I tried a different rom too and got the same result, so it isn't the rom. Any quick ideas? I am rooted and wiped everything before flashing...

Find RA's "how to unroot".
Re-root your phone.

thats what i use
Or download titanium backup... locate launcher pro... click it and uninstall... I believe you can't install 8.2 over 8.1... if you can't, make sure you have atleast one home launcher eg. Gingerbread launcher (or you wont have a homescreen to work with lol) then go into titanium to uninstall system lp... now u r ready to install ur 8.2

well, there's a lot of competition, so thats kinda tough. im a fan of the green and black theme. with that said, id trade fancy for complete stability. Im personally looking for a daily driver.
Pull down power controls like in cm6.1 maybe cm settings to fix the rotation to the right thing....everything else is awesome nice work man

i dont believe trying this out will hurt...
p.S. you can also extract the gapp files and intall via file manager. i like to xtract other rom files and push them on my current set up...

Nothing major. at this point any cutom pgns can be accomplished by the individual... assuming they can root, they can edit the framework-res.apk.
as far as the stability goes, like i said before , im a performance nazi, so the occassional app reload [start an app then it shuts its self down, but then restarts its self] is kinda annoying. home sceen lags ect.
people always rant about how this is the fastest rom "ever" but when i seem to try it its never the case.
i like to run my beast as stock as possible. no swap. no compache, no ext. so a rom thats come right out of the zip "blazing fast and stable" are hard to come by.
I will say that your Rom along with a select few are worthy of calling fast and stable. so i would like to see more customization,[diff colors schemes, cms options are nice] but if its at a cost for these old phone, well then pock that! lol example, 3d gallery, too laggy for my taste but some like it. im personally not a dev so i just want a phone that works as a phone firts and one i can show my I-friends why they they chose the wrong device. well i feel you get the point. hope that helped.

After a longer porting and testing phase we are ready to release a beta version of the Unity rom on the MyTouch 4G Slide (Doubleshot).
The initial idea of porting the Unity rom to this device was coming from fcreeves and was started in the Pledge a bounty for Virtuous ROM thread.
The rom is brand new ported to the device and was made without having a device actually in the team. So the testing was fully made by unclespoon.
After a really last positive testing it's time to release it for an open beta phase.
Keep in mind that not all points could be tested yet. So please make a backup before flashing this rom.

Been running constant since last night and didn't even do a reboot until this morning.
FAST AND STABLE...Now our interface is as good as the paper specs.
Guys this ROMs port is already primed, refined and seasoned from its own evolution from Virtuous team.
No FCs as of yet and the trackpad/wake, as stated before, is the only real issue there is so far.
Hopefully 1% battery percentage and nice themes will soon follow.
Our resident MT4GS groundbreaking dev could probably make this happen faster than anyone else

Yes I can make that happen. Once I finish updates for both my ROMs, I will begin work on some themes. And I will look into other things as well. Sunday night will be the night for updates and releases.

I should really refresh before answering Saw now that you were able to flash.
At the moment we are not able to make a landscape lancher. There are no "real" Sense 3 rom which has this functionality

The shortcuts are definitely working. They don't show up on initial boot because the lockscreen hasn't been configured yet. Go into personalize > lockscreen > and find the one you want (I chose the weather lockscreen and it's awesome) and then hit settings to set the individual shortcuts. Everything is working just fine!

Also wanted to add that as of the now genius button doesn't do anything since genius isn't loaded, so I remapped it to SEARCH. Here are the steps to remap the genius button to search (thanks to nyolsson for the info):
Steps to take:
1. Using Root Explorer, go to /system/usr/keylayout
2. Make sure Root Explorer is mounted as R/W.
(top right button should display Mount R/O, bc you are currently in R/W mode)
3. Long press 'doubleshot-keypad.kl'
4. Select 'Open in Text Editor'
5. Line 5 shows 'key 188' with FUNC_4 next to it. Replace FUNC_4 with 'SEARCH' - all caps.
This re-maps the Genius button on the front of the phone.
6. Scroll down a little and you will see # column 3. 'Key 184' needs to be changed from FUNC_4 to "SEARCH" as well.
This re-maps the Genius button on the qwerty keyboard. (now you can actually use quick launch)
7. Hit the hard menu key and select Save Changes or Save and Exit.
8. Root Explorer will automatically create a backup of the original file you edited with the original file name ending with the extension .bak
(doubleshot-keypad.kl.bak)
9. Need to restart before it takes effect.

Other than that, a pretty good daily driver I think. Let me know what bugs you find, so I know what to fix. If you'd like to be part of the permanent beta testing team, please PM me. Be prepared to know what adb does and have a dropbox account ready This is not an "early accesss" program, but a way to improve the ROM by having people actively test early builds and reporting back on issues.

I was back when I had an HD2, but have had an EVO for over a year...
WOW! NRG hits the evo 4g! you and sharkie made it hard to leave my tp2 lol excited to see this
Aw snaps! What's up NRG, I missed you from my touch pro 2 days. Glad to see your doing your thang still. I will be downloading this when I get a chance and I hope you continue your work on this Rom and other works. I recently decided to dive into sense 3.5 and like it. I just wish the Rom was a little more stable and complete. In time, hopefully it'll get better.

Installation Guide:
You must be rooted, have nand unlocked with the latest Clockwork Recovery installed. If you have not done this yet there are many device specific guides around to help you but we will not cover it here.
Perform a nandroid backup of your current ROM, in case you change your mind or encounter issues.
If you are coming from another ROM with the same exact base (i.e. same version of Sense), you may not have to wipe data. I obviously recommend wiping data the first time you install Virtuous (since it will eliminate any possibly bad/stale configuration), but the update script will not do so automatically during installation. Use your best judgement to determine what works best for you.
Wipe cache/Davlik cache
Wipes are NOT required for any upgrade to/from any release with the same major version of the ROM; downgrades are a different story. Versioning schema is Major.Minor.Revision.
Apply the zip via Clockwork Recovery. It has not been tested with any other recovery.
Expect the first boot to take anywhere from 6-10 minutes. During this period, your phone will sit at the boot animation; just be patient. Subsequent reboots should be significantly quicker.
This occurs because the ROM is deodexed and numerous Market-originating applications are installed into /data on the first boot. If you are curious about what the phone is doing, fire up "adb logcat" and you will see a continuous stream of messages as it boots (reassurance, if you need it).

Many of the other forums for the supported devices have already had a Primadonna thread in their dev forums. Also i have stated i take no credits for this rom. I am just posting this here as i know many desire s owners are looking for diffrent sense 4.0 roms to try out. Its best summed up this way by a forum administrator:

If you check the Desire Z forums, the admin there has allowed the post of primadonna as an informational thread. by no means am i taking any credit for this
just wait till they find out. they'll be all over you!!!!
edit: good job posting it here, i like the rom. i use it 24/7 since day one. its a little laggier than prox's but is stable and fast enough. the known sense 4 bugs exist though(cam, tether etc).... i hope virtuous team will change their mind and come back to xda. rootz wiki is... dead... there is no activity there...

Wow finally i can post in the development threats..
So what i found out, the problem with the softkeys in the launcher can be solved by using another launcher. Eg Apex,..
Realy like the Rom, its quite fast, smoth and stable. Looks very good, reminds me of Android 2.3.5
What i'd love to have are more options on the Rom like Ice Cold Sanwich..

um... i installed it and a few things i have to say: The touchscreen is screwed. What i mean is that if you want to touch something at the bottom of the screen, you have to touch the top area of the screen to do it. ill let you know if other bugs arise.

Cause i was curious lol. I can't even unlock the screen on first boot. Like the touch is off and i can't quite grab the ring, it just bounces like i tapped the screen. about to delete the lock just to get past it
Been testing the rom from a full wipe.
Pretty slugish and stuttery also the camera does not work at all for me on my desire HD when you try to open it, it does nothing.
also google new voice commands do not work, all i see is a spinning circle and thats it never goes away unless i press back key.
animation in videos and clock and weather ect are stuttering like hell.

those are just what i have found so far of the 5 minutes i have had use of it, will test some more tomorrow.
The touch screen is reversed lol, to unlock it at the beginning you have to swipe from notification bar down

Wow. Touch screen is off. Couldn't even get into the phone. But I rebooted and reinstalled my other rom. Excitement lead on by disappointment.
