3. Reboot into recovery
4. Do a nandroid backup
5. Perform a full wipe
6. Select "install zip from sdcard"
7. Select the file and you're on your way to happiness
First boot may take some time before startup... so be patient

This is still a work in progress, as I'm experiencing some random reboots (seems to be associated with mobile data/roaming).

Changed Camera.apk for function without a trackball
Edited Lense Lockscreen from "Verizon wireless" to "Evo 4G"

It runs very smooth. There are some apps that need to be taken out (verizon specific ones; voicemail for instance) though, but thats why there's a WIP tag...I'm not going to do much until I get a PM response from original creator. When/if I get a green light, I'll change more stuff out and upload another (more sprint) release.

You will likely get all these questions, so I am going to ask you right now (that the thread is small and legible)

I took a look at this rom earlier on when Clark requested it but I figured it was a waste of time because I thought no one was going to help out.
Glad to see people like you on here! Will subscribe to this thread as I too wish that you get the green light on this....

Everything works except 4G. There isn't an option to turn on 4G, so that's that I guess lol.

I'm assuming this is a CM7 base rom with a rosie hacked onto it, or is it a Sense base with CM7 features added? It looks half and half to me.

I took on the request as a challenge, because I've never had any luck with making/porting ROMS, so this is really the first ROM I've ever made/ported successfully!

I think is sense with CM7 features.......that's what I got from reading the original thread BUT I could be wrong...lol

Either way I like it. Looks smooth as hell. Perfect amount of eye candy vs. functionality. First ROM I'd flash in a while that I'd actually want to use for an extended period of time.

Its more of a sense-based with CM7 features added.
On a Side Note:
Clark44 is downloading it now, as I made the port originally per his request, so we'll see what kind of feedback he gives once he flashes.
Please no one PM me/clark for the download link because I'm trying to respect original dev's request for anyone who uses his work to get permission before releasing any downloads publically

After looking at the original thread, I am pretty sure I'll flash this in a heartbeat once permission is granted to release it. It looks like a super cool rom, and I'd def give it a spin. Good work on the port OP, I look forward to trying this out!

[DEV][MOD] Sense 3.5 Rosie To Synergy Port Thread

Yesterday I stated porting the Sense 3.5 rosie to Synergy RLS1. This rosie is already sized for our screens and optimized to run on our systems so the outcome will be a better experience than our current "carousel" mod and it will have all of the new Sense 3.5 3D widgets.

I first replaced the stock rosie with the 3.5 rosie, and all Android saw was my ADW Launcher so I then fixed permissions with Root Explorer to no avail
I then replaced the APK signature with the carousel signature that's working... fail.

Hey there. I'm not gonna say this can't be done, but your starting point is to figure out the classes and resources that are called from the frameworks. It was a major breakthrough to get the sense 2.1+3.0 going, and those guys are super awesome for it. (Find them on the DHD forums). Synergy and other sense 2.1+3.0 roms for the EVO are branched from them. In order to make it work, you need to rework com.htc.resources.apk. This isn't a light task, but it can be done.
As for simply making the system recognize the apk, that shouldn't be too terribly hard. But as soon as it you click on it there will be force closes. But next week some time I might be able to work on this. We'll have to see.
I wish I had more time to play with android more. I haven't done this stuff in a while.

Ok well I'm off to find out exactly what a class is! lol But I heard ADB Logcat is very useful in troubleshooting so I'm looking into learning how to use that too. I've read Seo's thread on the 2.1+3.0 venture from front to back and he has a diff file somewhere showing what was changed to make it work. So that's my first step. Thanks Tommy, really appreciate your insight!

In all honesty, it's way over my head too, nor have I had the time to look into what Tommy directed me to. Right now, I'm actually working on theming the 3.0 3D mod to Synergy RLS1, and it may be the last update to Red Hot Synergy. I've been playing with this phone for the longest, and neglecting my Web Design studio.. and time is money so I need to buckle down and get back on it. Thanks for the ongoing support of all of my concoctions! lol

Maybe some of you already saw on Virtuousrom Website that I was able to leak some screenshots of the new Virtuous ROM. But now I was able to leak a complete build from them *lol*
But now to the "real" stuff:
The rom itself is based on the Runnymede RUU 1.05.401.4. After some days with trying to make this build really stable we still need to say this rom is still in a early build state. So be aware that there will be some problems left. Also there aren't any tweaks at the moment in the rom. We first want to make it stable and then begin to add some nice features.
As you maybe already saw we have no name for the rom at the moment. Therefore we started a thread in our own forum where we got a lot of suggestions for it. We will now try to pick up the best five suggestions and then start a poll here on XDA.

I'm not sure what changed in the Sense Exchange sync app but I can't sync with my companies now . Deal breaker for now and back to my old Virtous rom.
I get the following incompatible error: Device encryption enabled

Installed and everything works. GPS, wifi, mobile and sync restored my apps and settings. Not getting any lag and also noticed the weather animation sounds no longer crackle on inspire. It's definitely in good shape for a beta.

Great! I really like HTC Sense 3.5. I'll waiting for the final release. For now I flashed the RCMix3D Runnymade 3.3 and works flawlessly . Recommended!

Can someone test bluetooth voice dial? 2.39 locks up and requires a battery pull, very frustrating when I go to press the button to answer a call that hangs up and I end up locking up my phone...

I just setup my account and exchange works fine. The company I work on uses Exchange 2010 and it works fine.

Anyone else having a blue screen effect when trying to watch videos on portrait mode?

We will look at adding the bliss launcher and quicklaunch widget as a tweak in future releases.

Not specifically a deal breaker. I have tried several 3.5 ROMS and have a favorite but always tend to want to go back to Virtuous. But will the camera on this ROM feature a working self portrait mode? I have a cam apk from a 3.0 rom that i can install on my current 3.5 rom and it works but when i reboot phone is reverts back to the stock cam. Just wondering is that a feature HTC removed from the 3.5 roms?

This is by far the best Sense Rom that I have used. I have no problems with Exchange or bluetooth voice dial(for those of you that were wondering). All of the other Sense roms have some weird issues that I have found no solution to. RcMix3d doesnt even boot even with full wipe of data/cache/Dalvik. And some of the others have weird things like Navigation just FCs every time i try and use it, or they are just slow. Anyway nice work on the Rom, love Virtuous stuff always smooth and is my old reliable if I am in a Sense mood for the day(yes the day, i have a flashing addiction, its a problem, i am working on it). Thanks again

I could not wait any longer for the final which I believe its been released next Monday, and flashed the beta2. Everything is super smooth and have not encountered any issues. Way to go Virtuous!

Just wanted to post, I loaded this rom today coming from Unity 2.39 and what a nice upgrade. Everything is working really smooth so far. Very happy with the upgrade. Was going to wait for the final but this beta is as good as a final.

Installation Guide:
You must be rooted, have nand unlocked with the latest Clockwork Recovery installed. If you have not done this yet there are many device specific guides around to help you but we will not cover it here.
Perform a nandroid backup of your current ROM, in case you change your mind or encounter issues.
If you are coming from another ROM with the same exact base (i.e. same version of Sense), you may not have to wipe data. I obviously recommend wiping data the first time you install Virtuous (since it will eliminate any possibly bad/stale configuration), but the update script will not do so automatically during installation. Use your best judgement to determine what works best for you.
Wipe cache/Davlik cache
Wipes are NOT required for any upgrade to/from any release with the same major version of the ROM; downgrades are a different story. Versioning schema is Major.Minor.Revision.
Apply the zip via Clockwork Recovery. It has not been tested with any other recovery.
Expect the first boot to take anywhere from 6-10 minutes. During this period, your phone will sit at the boot animation; just be patient. Subsequent reboots should be significantly quicker.
This occurs because the ROM is deodexed and numerous Market-originating applications are installed into /data on the first boot. If you are curious about what the phone is doing, fire up "adb logcat" and you will see a continuous stream of messages as it boots (reassurance, if you need it).

Many of the other forums for the supported devices have already had a Primadonna thread in their dev forums. Also i have stated i take no credits for this rom. I am just posting this here as i know many desire s owners are looking for diffrent sense 4.0 roms to try out. Its best summed up this way by a forum administrator:

just wait till they find out. they'll be all over you!!!!
edit: good job posting it here, i like the rom. i use it 24/7 since day one. its a little laggier than prox's but is stable and fast enough. the known sense 4 bugs exist though(cam, tether etc).... i hope virtuous team will change their mind and come back to xda. rootz wiki is... dead... there is no activity there...

Wow finally i can post in the development threats..
So what i found out, the problem with the softkeys in the launcher can be solved by using another launcher. Eg Apex,..
Realy like the Rom, its quite fast, smoth and stable. Looks very good, reminds me of Android 2.3.5
What i'd love to have are more options on the Rom like Ice Cold Sanwich..

Yes its based off 1.2 with the menu button change, I will be posting a flashable zip to remove that feature also because I personally would prefer the task manager button and on screen menu button.
also will update OP now with md5 and proper credit to virtuous team and others.

I've actually got it down to 299 mb rite now and I'm still optimizing and then doing the status bar changes both should help conserve more space.
I'll also make a complete list of apps in the rom but I actually put some back in the new build that I was missing during daily use.
To answer your question though yes gtalk and mail are in there

Been playing with it the last day and a couple of things:
- When the screen is off and I get a call, I have to turn the screen on via power button, swipe to unlock, enter my pattern passcode, and only then can I see who is calling and answer/reject.
- Youve removed clock/alarm? Cant find it anywhere.
Other than that been pretty rock solid and smooth. Battery life seems good too

I'll be posting an update late tonight for me probably early morning for euro users. I'll look intothe lockscreen issues.
And I did actually remove the clock but I've added it back I got a bit carried away LOL alls well though in the new release

This rom seems promising, what i suggest is to make first post more details about the rom, im coming from htc hd2 and i really dont want to go to other threads and get back here. What i mean post the requirements of flashing this rom, battery expectations some recommended applications to be installed.
Looking forward for the upcoming updates as i still didnt buy the phone, stcuk @ the decision between one x and one s. The only thing that makes think about the one x is the development board compared to the one s ....

Coming from Samsung roms, and really new to HTC & Sense. Hence my question. Why is 300mb considered as 'slim' when on my old sgs we had 70mb slim rom? Is it that HTC roms need to contain some extra stuff or something else? I have noticed that on my wife's Sensation as well. Looking forward to try this rom.

Its HTC. The shipped rom had about 800mb on /system. Considering that, 300mb is pretty slim.
AOSP/CM will be much smaller though, once it works properly

Hopefully you won't have problems with the camera on ics. Sense Roms don't have a camera Hal..asop does..nightmare
Question anyway..what's the deal with cm7 could that be adapted?
