Hi friends,
This is the first question im posting in xda..i upgraded to xxkpm from kpe..then i rooted and deodexed...then installed super teeks rom for kpm..then applied meizu theme followed by andromeda theme..now tell me if i want to remove the super teeks rom what shld i do? But i want to be in kpm onli...
Ps - if im using a theme which was applied through cwm...can i use some other theme by just doing the same thing by flashin it in cwm...will it replace the old one or it clubs with the old theme?

Please read everything more carefully before posting for such unnecessary things...
If you want a clean/stock/plain xxkpm install then the best wyay would be to take backup of your current installed apps, sms, contacts via titanium backup or mybackup... And copy the backed up apps, sms, contact data on your PC!
And then flash xxkpm just over your current setup and then restore your backup... Simple...
If you want specific threads pertaining to flashing go to Misledz's thread of gingerbread based firmware flashing guide... Find that all in his signature...
Also check out the super information directory thread in my original xda signature... It won't be visible if you are on tapatalk or xda App..
Tapashocked via my gt-I9003 with a random keyboard of my choice !
Thx a lot friend...gr8 info..also one more doubt...wn i try to restore the backed up apps from titanium back it asks me permission to install each and every app unlike back up...is there any way to just give the command once to restore all apps....

When I use CWM to back up my Rom does it back up any modifications that I have made.
I am running Virtuous Unity 1.31 but I have also installed the keyboard without arrows and Blue Unity theme.
Will these modifications stay in the backup or will I have to reinstall them again if I have to reinstall my Rom.
Thanks in advance.

yes,they will all stay
when you do a nandroid backup everything in your phone except your radio, hboot & recovery get saved
so if you restore your backup it is exactly like how it was when you made the backup
Good to know.
It's a pain in the ass having to reflash them on the 2 occasions I had to reinstall my rom.
cwm backup is full backup so whatever u have on your phone will be backuped

Restarted my phone and went back to system apps and clicked install and went through that process and it said application not installed. PLEASE HELP I UAVE BEEN SEARCHING THE NET AND XDA AND I JUST CAN NOT SEAM TO FIND A SOLUTION. HELP PLZ LOL

y would u complicate things? simply flash it through cwm. u really shouldn't replace system apps while running if possible
It was the directions that I had read, do you know were I can get a ics contacts that I can flash?

The flashable zip is also in the thread.
And it does work just swapping it in system app. U dont install it just swap fix permissions and restart phone
Nevermind lol i was thinking about the software keys. I didnt make a flashable zip for this yet. But i will
..didnt think so ...no big
I have 2 questions actually
1) How do i restore all my apps and data after i flash a rom? (without having to download all over again?)
2) What is the difference between IMM26 and IMM76. I might flash to IMM76 but if there are no differences or improvements then I wont bother doing this
thanks
1) If you backed your apps up via Titanium Backup or Rom Toolbox, just download that app again and you should be given the option to restore your apps and data.
2) I honestly don't know off the top of my head. Might have to do a Google search on that one.
Rom Toolbox also can restore apps and their data from cwr nandroid backup. Not sure if that's a pro only feature.

all apps are located at /data/app , you can try to copy all the apks to that folder then chmod a+x *.apk . If doesn't work it no harm at least.

1. Use Titanium Backup
2. IMM26 is Android 4.0.3 and IMM76 is 4.0.4.
4.0.4 don't have the Android OS bug, and it is way smoother. + better batterylife I think..

Is there a way to do this? I'm running the newest version of twrp and can't find the option to only restore the data. The reason I wanna do so is so that I can flash a new rom and then flash all my previous data so that I dont have to install them all individually again.

Yes there is a way but please do not do this. If u restore data collected while using your old ROM on your new ROM, you will break things.

... unless u are using the exact same rom but a newer iteration like cm10 nightlies

I've suggested this before to folks. One solution is to save the apps you want to keep to an external sd card then re-install post flash or another solution is to get familiar with the Android Kitchen. I regularly tailor Roms to suit my needs (network settings/media files etc ) including to make available certain apps I want for use from the get go (Root Explorer, etc) using it. There's a few extra steps to add/take away desired apps but it's relatively easy. Read the thread below (see link) and thank/donate to dsixda.

Hi All,
I have to go back to an older version of Android on my phone... so I'm thinking of choosing GB v/s ICS:
1) GB has an obvious advantage of GPS and if I'm not mistaken, battery
2) ICS has an aesthetic advantage, and it just 'feels' better than GB
Negative points about GB/ICS:
1) ICS ghost call problem (?) --> Cannot compromise on this anymore, and I'm not happy with using Nokia as my main phone anymore (tried for 2 weeks; I'm angry at Nokia now )
2) ICS GPS problem
3) GB Apps problem -> No Chrome, Nova, Apex etc (maybe some more)
What I need from the downgrade:
1) A supremely stable phone without random reboots
2) No ghost calls
3) Working GPS
4) Solid battery (like Stock GB offered when I first bought my phone 1.5 years ago)
5) Basically every functionality that AdAway and LBE Security Master offer right now
6) Apps like Cerberus and Avast! should work too
I know there are lots of threads weighing the pros and cons of every ROM, I'd like a crowd sourced reply as to which ROM I should choose.
Also, if possible, the steps (is it the normal ""(1) Clear cache/dalvik (2) Clear Data and flash ROM (3) Flash GApps (4) Clear cache/dalvik (5) Profit"" process?)
Any help will be very much appreciated from the bottom of my heart.
Thanks in advance! (Will 'thank' on replies too)
You are asking about Yes or NO.?
Then go to GB-> There would be no Ghost calls. No GPS problem. Battery power is great. NEOROM Would be the best. Why choose Chrome when you have Opera.?
try GB & Forget anything
OR
Just install GB using ODIN (Clean all data & caches first, Also take backup). Then just install fresh ICS ANGEEK ROM.
Choice is yours.

Thanks Vikesh! I'll install Neo ROM v3
Which App do you recommend for back-up? I am thinking of buying Titanium Backup PRO
Does TiBu have a full Nandroid backup, or is that done by some other app?

Why you buy.? What backup you want to restore?
Applications, Messages, contacts.?
Use Superbackup application for the same or flash V4 CWM & take backup. Then you can extract the Application from out of backup zip file. But I would recommend super backup.

No, I meant only the app Cerberus. I have it and I'd like to use it after installing the new ROM too.
SMS, contacts etc are all taken care of: SMS Backup+ and Google respectively.

You can copy source of cerberus app from /data/app/ and keep backup in sdcard or you can download again from playstore. Since you have paid for that app, you can use it in any mobile in any rom.
as mentioned by vikesh, superbackup does take care of all things(apps,contacts,sms)..you dont even need SMS backup+..
