dear X1O users, i need a favor.
who can provide me with a software were i can close the running programs other that super task killer and such that.
well am not facing lack of battery or memory thing but my problem is that my internet consumption is decreasing so fast, even when my phone is in standby mode my phone is using internet programs like (facebook, whatsapp,viber... and so on)
so what do you recommend???
You can use any taskmanager to close running apps but it's pretty much useless because apps like facebook, viber and whatsapp will start back up again. If you want to save your net you can toggle it off with the data network widget.
But apps like facebook or whatsapp barely uses any data while running in the background. You can use onavo to monitor which app is hogging up your data.
I just replied to your post in the development section. lol
Maintain the decorum. Ask questions in Q&A section, not a n Themes&Apps, neither in Development!
CheersS!

Hi,
I occassionally kill an app to free up resources via the built in HTC task manager. But, i also noticed that under the manage apps menu, when you click on an app, some of them allow you to press force stop if they are running.
I am confused though, becaue for example i never use slacker or google maps, yet these 2 apps give me the option to force stop. yet, some apps i use frequently do not have the force stop option (its greyed out).
Thanks
Freeze or remove the apps that you don't use, as long as they're not system apps. Check and be sure you know what it does before removing. Task manager apps are not really needed for Android 2.2+. I use the one in the pull down on occasions when I know my phone will be on stand-by for a while so nothing is running in the bg. You should be good. TiB is good for removing and freezing apps, but if you don't wanna pay, you can always disable them via adb.

Don't kill apps to free up memory. Android will relocate the memory for you if necessary.
The only time I use the task manager is as a quick way to restart an app.

Hi, what is the objection of killing apps via Task Manager in Sensation? I am coming from Windows Mobile and therefore have used to kill apps after closing them.

Basically anything Android 2.2+ handles applications. Closes them after the appropriate period of time. Ends all processes related to the app unless it had a background service that runs.
Task killer abruptly shuts down the app and doesn't let the Android OS do the job. Earlier on 1.5/1.6 days it was definitely needed because Android didn't handle it as well.
If you have to force stop or task kill make sure your task killer isn't set to auto kill. Also I do kill apps occasionally via Force Stop when the app isn't working. Usually facebook app does this at times or words with friends.

It isn't really necessary to "free up resources" in Android. Apps that have been dormant for some time or are unnecessary are closed automatically when memory is required. Often apps that are force closed will simply be reopened by the system, which actually has a negative impact on battery life.
Ok I been using advance task killer since I got android I'm using 2.3.4 I have auto kill on 30mins I use it to save battery, are u guys telling me i don't need it?

You most definitely do not need it.
Hello.. i need help regarding applications which constantly run in the background such as facebook, email, maps and etc. Using advance task killer and setting it to aggressive doesnt help. It just keeps restarting by itself in the background. This really eats up my RAM usage. Any idea how to solve this problem without rooting my device. The solutions i found in other threads involve apps which needs rooting..thanks

Get rooted according to the ROM/kernel setups you have... Then use titanium backup or any other similar app to freeze or delete these unnecessary apps...
BTW don't use facebook app for android... It is horrible... Use friendcaster or use opera mini or dolphin browser mini for browsing facebook!

i need an app to supervise other apps
i need it to
tell me what apps is using the internet and to stop the ones i choose
the process running in the back without the system processes
also to save a log for the apps and what they are doing.
plz if someone knows an app that can do this or different apps
help me.
I use Onavo for the monitoring, you can restrict apps to wifi easily & it'll tell you which apps are potential data hogs. I find it easier to navigate than the ICS built in data monitor
You can also tell it your data limit & it'll give you usage info & awarning when you're near your limit

Droidwall can block specific apps from using wifi or 3g.

I use onavo, it alerts you to the apps that consume more data. and if you want to control the use of the apps battery, Badass battery.
Avast Mobile Security
Which Doubles As A Capable Antivirus Too
Now Thank You In Advance For You Thanking Me
LBE Privacy Guard. So many possibilites to control your apps premissions, that you will be able to supervise any event that apps are trying to run it in backround. Sending sms by apps, reading contact list, using gps localisation... many many more. You can also set profiles for apps (disable 3g but let enable wifi for your app for example, or reject/accept both. It's short discripition what can this app do. Check more at dev page. Must have for rooted. And Free.

hey xda'rs
i am thinking about a concept, of an app that can block all apps from auto running and has a notification center, why?
okay in my samsung galaxy s2 i have a problem which is whenever my phone connects to the internet it starts freezing heating up and so, so i have installed autostarts gemini app manager and lbe security in order to block them " like facebook, maps, gmail, outlook, twitter and etc.."
but the problem is some of them are being blocked and some of them starts.
for the blocked apps i won't able to receive notifications unless i open the app, and for non blocked apps the will start whenever i onnect the power open the camera or in so ridiculous sates.
what am thinking if some on can modify android policy, by creating an app to block all those apps, and it have a notification center that will keep you notified with what is happening.
you see in IOS or wp8 " i think they have this policy" so their os is running smoothly despite how tons of apps you have.
in my s2 the ram is 60 mb free!!! it is somthing kills me!!
so what do you think guys? is it possible?!!
Delete my post please

Did you notice that from a little while a lot of programs run un the background without you notice unless use a programa like battery doctor?. Why!. It seems that somebody want us yo run out of battery and charge again so as to spend electricity. Even if you use battry doctor once, they start again soon. Android operating system should take care. This is anoying and you have to charge battery twice or more depending the time your smartphone is on and not the use you make of them
Android is not like Windows. It's normal to have apps run in the background. Actually they don't "run", they just stay there to optimize memory usage in case you call them. Using memory kill apps actually makes your life batter WORSE, cause android will reload those apps anyway a moment later.
It's not a bug - it's a feature. Live with it
It would eat up ram of you didn't, also I would recommend rooting and freezing apps when not using them ie Facebook, Instagram, ect
