I just flashed CM6 6.3.0 RC3. I was on Cincinnati Bell stock 2.1 and booted into OpenRecovery. I did a factory reset and flash CM6. I have tested phone access but data does not work at all.
EDIT: False alarm possibly. Are these the APN values I need to add for Cincinnati Bell?

These are the values in apns-conf.XML.
Give it a try- change values for proxy and apn type
Do you have settings for MMS?
You need 2 settings, 1 for net/data, 1 for MMS..

MIUI-1.10.28 - Milestone XT720
I will change the APN settings to those later when I get off work. Is there a copy of apns-conf.XML posted on xda for Cincinnati Bell which I can use to overwrite on the phone itself?
Look here
I'm not a MMS user so I probably never notice if it's not working. Anyway, Cincinnati Bell has this to say:
MMS config for Milestone XT720
WAP config for Milestone XT720
MMS and Data Services are now functional. Out of curiosity is this something that the XML apn file should have?

I have a SGS4G. Until yesterday I only had a prepaid voice plan, and I used wifi for data. Yesterday I signed up for a prepaid voice+data. I got a new sim which has been activated, voice+text works, and the account shows data is enabled.
However, I get no data (with the wifi off). The guy in the T-mobile store saw nothing wrong with the settings. Use packet data is checked under mobile network settings. The settings/phone/status shows mobil network state as disconnected, and there is no 3g/4g icon at the top of the display (just 4 bars).
Tech support sent resets a couple of times, and its been power cycled half a dozen time by now.
The guy in the store put my sim in his phone and it got data.
Tech support opened a ticket and said call them back in 3 days if it doesn't clear. I'm not optimistic.
I'm running straight Froyo KD1 via Kies, and the only hacks are root and cwm recovery.
Any ideas on how to get the cell data working?
Check if APN are set..
Settings > wireless and networking > mobile networks > access point names
if you're Tmobile, it should have one like this:
Tmobile internet
epc.tmobile.com
If there's no apn on the list, then you'll never get 3g 4g

I tried it, but don't see a difference. Still no data (after a reboot). The only difference I see between the new and old one is that MMSC was set in the old one.
Try these values

Thanks for the suggestions, but the only variations are whether the MMSC is set, or the Authentication type is set. I've tried those variations with no luck.
Something else is wrong.
Hey guys, I can't seem to find it anywhere, but I was able to send mms for a while but all of a sudden I cant anymore. I am on skyics stock with romracer kernel. I'm pretty sure there isn't a bug in the rom about mms, unless I was on a different rom when I was able to send mms. I changed to various apns, (PTA doesn't work for my area at all), and only phone or wap.Cingular work for me but I still can't send mms. Sorry if this questions been asked. Tried to search but on phone and couldn't find a fix. Thanks guys.

I know you said att PTA doesn't work for you, but maybe try the apn in the cyanotouchwiz rom thread. Also double check that your mms proxy doesn't have HTTP:// before it and your mom's port is 80, authentication set to none, and mmsc does have HTTP in front of it. Network troubles could be a difficulty as well. Att is always io to some bs in my area.
Just deleted the http:// and it still wont send. My apn looks the same as the thread says also. I am able to receive the pictures just not able to send. Does that mean anything?

Just wondering, have you checked to see if you have packet data on under settings? MMS will not work unless you have that on.
Agree with above

It's on. I can't think of any other reason why my MMS would stop working!
Hey everyone,
Have searched the forum for it and there's a bunch of recommendations on updating the APN and such. I bought my NS4G not too long ago, and MMS has been spotty. Here and there I would be able to send and receive pictures, but as of recent, nothing's been really sending/received.
Every time an MMS comes through, I tap download and it gives me an error to try again. I downloaded an app, APN Settings Shortcut since I couldn't find under Wireless & Networks -> Mobile Networks. And here's my setup so far,
"Sprint"
Name - Sprint
APN - Sprint
Proxy - Not Set
Port - Not Set
Username - Sprint
Password - *
Server - *
MMSC - http://mms.sprintpcs.com
MMS Proxy - Not Set
MMS Port - Not Set
MCC - 310
MNC - 120
Authentication Type - PAP or CHAP
APN Type - default,supl,mms
APN protocol - IPv4
APN roaming protocol - IPv4
Bearer - Unspecified
Not really sure what to do, I'm getting frustrated. I'm not sure if it's the phone or is it just that Sprint sucks with MMS?
Phone Info - (Pretty much stock, non-rooted.)
Android Version 4.0.4
Baseband - D720SPRLC1
Build Number - IMM76D
Any help is appreciated, thanks.
Try downloading GO SMS, and downloading the picture through that and tell me if it works.
Just downloaded GO SMS Pro, and yea the last 3 MMS messages that I didn't receive with the stock messaging system, downloaded instantaneously. Wow.. So where do we go from here? Lol.
I might just stick with GO SMS Pro, but am still curious on the problem with the stock messenger.
Also, thanks fr3d!
Edit - Now I noticed I also can't send MMS messages lmao. Fix one problem to have another.
I'm curious as to how you have android 4.0.4 on your ns4g, I never saw a official release, only for the Nexus S.
I also see that your baseband is D720SPRLC1, while mine is D720SPRKE1? I'm on SLIM ICS, although I've always used this baseband.
I'm on 4.0.4 btw.
Are you having any issues with slim ICS? I'll look into flashing that ROM in the future if you're not having issues.
Yea, I bought this phone and it came running 4.0.4. I could take a screenshot too.

The nexus s4g hasn't ever gotten an official update. Can you post a screenshot on the "About" in settings?

So from what ive read and searched, is alot of people are having trouble sending and receiving mms. ive found a possible fix (as it works for me), where im able to send/receive mms, and still be able to access internet.

Sweet deal man! When I first activated on straight talk I had nothing but problems. Spent a total of at least 4hrs on the phone with straight talk changing the apn settings, them doing whatever they were doing with no luck. I actually pulled (I think) the mmsc and mmsc proxy from at&t settings and the rest is straight talk. Hope it works for ya!

With “I Forgot Mobile” (IFM) get Missed calls and text messages to your email inbox. If you have a habit of forgetting mobile in home, office, car etc. Then don’t worry Install IFM app and check Missed calls and text messages in your email inbox. Just your mobile should have access to internet either through WIFI or Mobile Internet.
Now configure your own SMTP server and Port.
Note:

Just give two missed calls within one minute. That’s it “IFM Switch” will become ON and ur mobile will start sending Missed calls and Text Messages as emails.

1) If you are a traveller worried about activating international roaming which incurs some cost, effort and time.
2) If you are working in a secured site where mobile phones are not allowed.
3) If you are busy and forgot mobile. Going back and getting the mobile is hectic because of huge traffic or any other reasons.
4) If you are registering in online bank and activation code will be sent to your mobile. You need the code to be entered for completing the process.
5) If you forgot phone at desk and went to attend meeting worried about missing important calls and text messages.
