Not receiving MMS - Sprint? - Nexus S Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey everyone,
Have searched the forum for it and there's a bunch of recommendations on updating the APN and such. I bought my NS4G not too long ago, and MMS has been spotty. Here and there I would be able to send and receive pictures, but as of recent, nothing's been really sending/received.
Every time an MMS comes through, I tap download and it gives me an error to try again. I downloaded an app, APN Settings Shortcut since I couldn't find under Wireless & Networks -> Mobile Networks. And here's my setup so far,
"Sprint"
Name - Sprint
APN - Sprint
Proxy - Not Set
Port - Not Set
Username - Sprint
Password - *
Server - *
MMSC - http://mms.sprintpcs.com
MMS Proxy - Not Set
MMS Port - Not Set
MCC - 310
MNC - 120
Authentication Type - PAP or CHAP
APN Type - default,supl,mms
APN protocol - IPv4
APN roaming protocol - IPv4
Bearer - Unspecified
Not really sure what to do, I'm getting frustrated. I'm not sure if it's the phone or is it just that Sprint sucks with MMS?
Phone Info - (Pretty much stock, non-rooted.)
Android Version 4.0.4
Baseband - D720SPRLC1
Build Number - IMM76D
Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Try downloading GO SMS, and downloading the picture through that and tell me if it works.

Just downloaded GO SMS Pro, and yea the last 3 MMS messages that I didn't receive with the stock messaging system, downloaded instantaneously. Wow.. So where do we go from here? Lol.
I might just stick with GO SMS Pro, but am still curious on the problem with the stock messenger.
Also, thanks fr3d!
Edit - Now I noticed I also can't send MMS messages lmao. Fix one problem to have another.

I'm curious as to how you have android 4.0.4 on your ns4g, I never saw a official release, only for the Nexus S.
I also see that your baseband is D720SPRLC1, while mine is D720SPRKE1? I'm on SLIM ICS, although I've always used this baseband.
I'm on 4.0.4 btw.

Are you having any issues with slim ICS? I'll look into flashing that ROM in the future if you're not having issues.
Yea, I bought this phone and it came running 4.0.4. I could take a screenshot too.

The nexus s4g hasn't ever gotten an official update. Can you post a screenshot on the "About" in settings?

[Q] No Data Connection!

I have a SGS4G. Until yesterday I only had a prepaid voice plan, and I used wifi for data. Yesterday I signed up for a prepaid voice+data. I got a new sim which has been activated, voice+text works, and the account shows data is enabled.
However, I get no data (with the wifi off). The guy in the T-mobile store saw nothing wrong with the settings. Use packet data is checked under mobile network settings. The settings/phone/status shows mobil network state as disconnected, and there is no 3g/4g icon at the top of the display (just 4 bars).
Tech support sent resets a couple of times, and its been power cycled half a dozen time by now.
The guy in the store put my sim in his phone and it got data.
Tech support opened a ticket and said call them back in 3 days if it doesn't clear. I'm not optimistic.
I'm running straight Froyo KD1 via Kies, and the only hacks are root and cwm recovery.
Any ideas on how to get the cell data working?
Check if APN are set..
Settings > wireless and networking > mobile networks > access point names
if you're Tmobile, it should have one like this:
Tmobile internet
epc.tmobile.com
If there's no apn on the list, then you'll never get 3g 4g

Under

It says :
WAP Setings (with a green bullet)
epc.tmobile.com
Create a new one and use this info:
Name: Tmobile Internet
Apn: epc.tmobile.com
Apn type: Internet + MMS
The rest should be left as it is.

I tried it, but don't see a difference. Still no data (after a reboot). The only difference I see between the new and old one is that MMSC was set in the old one.
Try these values

If it doesnt work then i dont know what the issue is, sorry

Thanks for the suggestions, but the only variations are whether the MMSC is set, or the Authentication type is set. I've tried those variations with no luck.
Something else is wrong.

No longer able to send MMS

Hey guys, I can't seem to find it anywhere, but I was able to send mms for a while but all of a sudden I cant anymore. I am on skyics stock with romracer kernel. I'm pretty sure there isn't a bug in the rom about mms, unless I was on a different rom when I was able to send mms. I changed to various apns, (PTA doesn't work for my area at all), and only phone or wap.Cingular work for me but I still can't send mms. Sorry if this questions been asked. Tried to search but on phone and couldn't find a fix. Thanks guys.

I know you said att PTA doesn't work for you, but maybe try the apn in the cyanotouchwiz rom thread. Also double check that your mms proxy doesn't have HTTP:// before it and your mom's port is 80, authentication set to none, and mmsc does have HTTP in front of it. Network troubles could be a difficulty as well. Att is always io to some bs in my area.
Just deleted the http:// and it still wont send. My apn looks the same as the thread says also. I am able to receive the pictures just not able to send. Does that mean anything?

Just wondering, have you checked to see if you have packet data on under settings? MMS will not work unless you have that on.
Agree with above

It's on. I can't think of any other reason why my MMS would stop working!

You need to go to settings , wireless & networks, mobile networks, access point names, than depending on the rom it may list others but select T-Mobile

Than you went to press the menu hardkey, or the left most hardware key, than select restore defaults. This will force it to re-populate the fields with info from the SIM card.
If there are no options listed as in the picture, you will want to procede with the restore default option.
This has worked for me anytime I have an issue with mobile data as well as mms. I could do everything on my wifi, but not on cellular network.
G2x-temasek CM7 build135.4 w/faux 054 kernel
ok i am going to try that. thanks

[Q] No APN Specified on Device

Okay so basic rundown of my problem. I am on a Verizon HTC One M8 with CM11, latest snapshot. I flashed Cyanogen about a week ago, and ever since then I've had this problem. I am unable to send or receive any MMS messages while at home. I think this can be attributed to the fact that I have a Verizon network extender at my house. What I have tried so far
Reseting my APNs to default
Adding APN in manually
Running the CM11 APN fix from Root Tweaker
Nothing has worked so far. Whenever I try to enter an APN in by myself, it doesnt add for some reason unknown to me. Also, whenever I go into my APN settings, there is literally nothing on the list.

At this point I have no clue what to do. I am 99% sure that the extender is the culprit, just have no idea how to fix it. Any help is appreciated.

restart the phone,then do everything.
i found one way to make them work, one bad thing it's that if you restart the phone you will have to do it again, but at least it's working again.
select the apn from verizon, the only field we can modify it's the APN
then enter the info from your carrier, for example :
fast.t-mobile.com in the case of t-mobile
vzwinternet in the case of verizon
as we know that field changes with our carrier but they just were some apn's i found on internet.
then save the apn,it worked on my GSM carrier again with 4G LTE.
i hope you get data again, let me know.

T-Mobile APN Settings

To everyone who is rocking an unlocked AT&T G Flex 2 on T-Mobile. Can you please post a screenshot of your APN settings.
I'm currently on my second T-Mobile SIM card because T-Mobile Tech Support nor I can figure out why I cannot send or receive MMS messages.
Everything else is working fine but I can't download pics sent via text and I can't send pictures. The little blue notification saying that the service is currently unavailable will just keep flashing.
Thanks in advance.
I have same issue
I have been having same issues lately, i t used to work with APN settings on T-mobile website but not any more problem started 31st Oct

Did you try a different SMS app like Textra, Google messenger/hangouts, or chomp?

Same here. I am on T-mobile network. MMS worked both ways for me 1 week ago. Now I can only receive, but not send.
I just received one MMS from a phone on T-mobile, this might mean the issue is only with phones coming from other cariers or even worse just with ATT's Flex 2
I've been having this issue too. Setting the MMS port to 80 in the APN worked for several weeks, but now it has mysteriously stopped working.
T-Mobile MMS working fine H950 5.1.1PR rooted Textra
On T-Mobile in California and MMS sending and receiving working fine. H950 5.1.1PR rooted. Using Textra for messaging. I've always had issues with stock messaging app and MMS on T-Mobile including prior phones, Samsung S3 and LG G2. Textra fixed all that.
I'm using common LTE APN settings for T-Mobile posted in many places. Screenshots below.
