[Q] Speaker Buzzer Ringer For HTC Desire - Desire Accessories

HELLO FRIENDS.
RECENTLY MY HTC DESIRE(ORANGE) DEVELOPED SHRILL,CRANKY SOUND FROM ITS BACK SPEAKER. AFTER FEW DAYS, IT GOT COMPLETELY DUMB!!I MEAN, NO SOUND AT ALL. THEN SUDDENLY IT STARTED RINGING, WHEN I GOT A CALL, BUT AGAIN MUTE!!!THIS HAPPENED A FEW TIMES, AND SINCE LAST 2 WEEKS, SHE COMPLETELY LOST HER VOICE!!
ONE OF MY FRIEND, WHO IS GOOD IN HARDWARE, SUGGESTED ME TO REPLACE THE BACK SPEAKER.NOW HTC SERVICE STATIONS IN INDIA ARE DAYLIGHT ROBBERS!THEY GAVE ME AN ESTIMATE OF SOME Rs2500(APPROX $50) FOR PART N REPLACEMENT CHARGES!!
IN NO WAY M INTERESTED IN SPENDING MY HARD EARNED CASH ON THEM. I SEARCHED NET AND FOUND "Speaker Buzzer Ringer For HTC Desire Nexus One LEGEND" A CHINESE MADE IN EBAY "cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170664227244#ht_3838wt_1037"
ARE THESE PRODUCTS RELIABLE.THOUGH I DON'T HAVE ANY OTHER OPTION. IT ALSO DEVOUT OF FRONT FOAM. WILL THAT CAUSE ANY PROBLEM.ALSO IF I PURCHASE ONE OF THIS, HOW CAN I REPLACE THE FOAM,ANY TIPS OR IDEA//

no one helping??

You plan to do this repair yourself? I just tonight replaced the front housing on one of my Desires. It was very fiddly but I do stuff like that because I get a kick out of doing it, it was a spare handset that I bought damaged to test out rooting and try different ROMs, and learn to pull it apart.
Since this is your personal handset, I agree ... spend the $50 with HTC and get it done properly.

Success?
Did you succeed in changing your speaker? Which piece of hardware did you choose? I think my speaker will die soon, too..

stupid touch pro with microphone dead

I HATE HTC !!! I been buying HTC from the beginning , but now I'm done with HTC ! Besides they make phones slower then the old XDA ones now they all break ! I just bought a HTC TOUCH PRO from ebay ... it worked for a week and after that the microphone died! It sounds only noises in conversation or in recording... Its so frustrating ... so much money for a junk of a phone
Anyone any ideas on where to buy a microphone ... ? (online shop)
thanks
for microphone do you mean the one comes with the phone? or the one built into the phone?
I would imagine he means the one built into the phone,
I recommend you get in touch with your nearest HTC vender for a warranty repair
yes,why buy a microphone when your phone is still under warranty?
It's an eBay sale so warranty could be iffy... Could also be the reason for a dodgy unit...
up
yeah guys... no warranty..the device worked for few days... i just got another one from ebay.... i hope this works for more then few days... but i still need to repair the old one and the HTC service is far from me and kind of expensive if you don't have warranty so i was looking to buy the microphone and give it to other service to glue it on the board.
if anyone knows a website that sells htc parts let me know thanks !
Anyway it should still be under warranty as the phone is brand new.
Try to give them a call.
For my phone they came to pick it up at work (I don't spend much time home, so gave the work address :^P)
no warranty? how can someone pay a device over $700 without any warranty...
unless it fall from a truck or got stolen...
good luck in trying to repair it, mate, hope it doesn't cost more than a new one...
i fixed it !!

Dust underneath the screen - manufacturing defect

As per title really...has anyone else experienced dust getting underneath the touchscreen?
on one of the rare days of sunshine last week I noticed a small amount of dust under the screen. It's going back to vodafone for "repair"
Not a good sign on a two week old device!
Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e using XDA App
Are you saying that originally your Sensation had no dust under the screen and dust developed there over time?
Someone was showing how the case design causes link to get in other areas, but I wonder if this also is the cause of dust getting under the screen???
And there's another thread about this same issue.
This is very depressing.
I've really hit a point where I'm wondering if this is the right device for me .
Edit October 25, 2011: I've had a Sensation for 3 months now and have not had any issues. The vast majority of Sensation owners don't have this issue.

This is how it goes in the beginning, unfortunately. Remember, this is a small percentage of actual Sensation phones we're hearing about here. Then again, I'm coming from the G2X...talk about issues.
I bought the Nexus One at launch, and had many issues. However, it turned out being the best phone I ever owned.
Sorry for creating another post.... Been on this board every day for weeks looking for root info and clearly missed it. :-(
Yes by the way... I mean no dust when I got it and now dust!
I still love it though... Just annoying that going to be without it for a week. Back to my leedroid gb desire... I'm glad I hadn't ebay ed it yet!

Could anyone who is using Sensation longer than two weeks confirm that not all these devices are affected by this? I've seen a lot of posts about it, and I am concerned if only some of them are affected or just few unlucky pieces...
I was looking forward to get this phone since they did not announce it on Barcelona, I knew HTC has something they didnt want us to see, few weeks later my wish came true, now its finaly here, and I am struggling if I should buy it or not... the WIFI problem doesnt look that serious to me, and seems like I could live with it(I am barelly using BT, and WIFI only at home, where the signal is better than good)...
Please, is here someone who doesnt have this problem after few weeks of usage? Still, if all the phones are affected, what would be the matter of getting it exchanged/fixed after two weeks, if I'll get the same phone again with the same issue, and two weeks later I will have to get that fixed again...
I too would like to hear from people who have *not* had dust issues and happen to keep their phone in their pocket or someplace where dust can get in. I'm looking at getting this phone today, and this is the first I've heard about dust. Had dust in my HTC Hero back when I had that phone, drove me nuts. Actually used to take it apart about once a month to do a thorough cleaning, and I kinda thought that after that phone, I wouldn't have to deal with that kind of issue anymore.
I havent had any dust underneith my screen but I do have a gel cover on that sort of seals any areas where dust can get in.
Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e using XDA App
Using mine since 27/05. It spends half of the time in the pocket, the back cover was taken off a few times as well. There's dust all around the screen where it meets the cover but none underneath the actual touchscreen.
Quite bad idea for a back cover IMHO but no dust issues so far. Standard issue Vodafone IRL Sensation

Long as it's not getting under the touchscreen it's not "too" big of a deal... The screen should be fused tightly enough that none every should get under there, theoretically speaking...

My HD2 was fine before I even loaded a custom ROM on it. I was stock the first 30 days with no complaints.
But XDA can mostly address software, not hardware issues. No custom ROM can kick dust from under the screen .

So I go to the Tmobile store and asked how they work with Dust under the screen. He said if its a widespread problem that a ton of people are having theyll replace them. But he said if no one reports it then they might not replace them.
I got two specs under my screen now. All the walmarts are sold out, and I only have 14 days to return. Im stumped on what to do.

Regarding the T-Mobile store. What the heck does the rest of the Sensation owning public have to do with YOUR Sensation having a defect? Even if 1 is defective it should be replaced. It should not require a fixed percentage.
Personally, I'd return for full refund before the return period runs out, but that's just me...
If it ALREADY has 2 specs under the screen. What do you think it will have 30 days from now, 1 year from now? That's a rhetorical question.

But ur right I might just return at walmart and wait for another shipment.

REPAIR centre delay? UPDATE: device is lost|NEW UNBRANDED REPLACEMENT. ARRIVED!

HTC took my Vodafone branded Sensation to repair it as i had bought it over ebay and cell reception wasn't as good as other sensations.
Whoop de doo UPS came and collected my phone on Tuesday 21st June and HTC received it on Wednesday 22nd June at 10AM. They told me it will take 7 working days to repair.
10 working days later (14 days later) they still havent fixed it and have no updates for me.
Anything i can do?
UPDATE: 13 Working days since it has been in repair. I have escalated this 3 times and checked with them everyday.
I get a call from the Supervisor they Repair Center have lost my Flagship Device.
They have no Sensations in stock. so they are offering me an alternative device (obviously all cheaper than the Sensation)
Now they are looking into trying to issue a replacement Sensation from HTC. very annoyed
Update: Rang up the HTC Care Team today. Because they lost my Vodafone branded device. They have decided to send me a brand new unopened unbranded Sensation. which i would receive in 3 working days also
http://www.htcaccessorystore.com/uk/p_htc_item.aspx?i=185326
a free Bluetooth headset as compensation.
well glad that should be sorted, and will update when i receive it
Update 13/07/11: New device has arrvied from HTC. unbranded and sim free, and this one has a more noticably flat screen than the previous devices.

Pretty sure nobody here can help? Not sure what this thread is for? You should simply contact HTC.

tried that lol, they said we will investigate, thats all, and thats your personal opinion. its a forum here to discuss the device or problems.
You can do more. Writing in to head office helps.

I've never seen more forum police/wanna b mods in one forum than here. Keep your panties on boys.
'to the op. tmo did a similar thing with me. Tell you now, be patient and you'll get your sensation. Reason why you need to be patient is if they are out of stock, not much of anything you or they can do to speed it up. tmo lost my sgs n they were out of stock, I had to wait 3 weeks.

I know i think they will know how it feels when it happens to their Devices
I understand the need to be patient. I spoke to a Supervisor and he has escalated a request for HTC to send out a new device not the repair center. as its not the network provider (e.g. Tmo) who took my device. it was HTC themselves.
They have mentioned they will be sending a new Sensation. Brand new and i did ask for a free accessory such as the car kit upgrade or the DLNA wireless box.
just have to wait and see. but yeh at the moment my Desire HD has gone for repair as i broke it. the sensation went for repair under warranty for faulty WIFI. im currently using a blackberry where The LCD is cracked and the bottom half is just a white blank screen. so im not the happiest and can only use the phone for answering calls really

OP that sucks. TMobile offers loaner phones when they have to send one out for warranty repair, does your carrier not do that? Good luck, let us know if you got the flat glass

yep definitely it feels flat but looks a little curved. much better i think.
Can you elaborate on the flatness of the screen? The screens on these are flat with curved edges. Is that what you mean? The sensation screen isn't entirely curved like the Nexus S.

With my sensation HTC lost. when u get to the edge of the screen on either side you could feel the curve. it was substantially curved. now with the new unbranded device, i can hardly feel the curve on the edge, it feels flat. like just one straight glss, but looking at it, you can see a slight curve on thescreen, only very slight, not as much as the earlier sensations.

[Q] Static Noise During and After Calls

Hi,
I'm new to this forum and new to smartphone. After a few keystrokes, I landed here. Hope someone can help me on this.
I purchased an unlocked LG G2X two weeks ago from eBay. I have been using the phone for 5 days now. I noticed that sometimes, there was static sound in the background when the phone ringing. As soon as the the person on the other line picked up, the statis noise was gone, but there was an echo of my voice in the background. The echo lasted about 30 seconds.
Occasionally, the phone even made noise after I ended the call - the noise (tick tick) lasted for a good 3 - 5 minutes, not that loud but someone stood next to me would hear it.
I have been reading several posts in this forum and others. Some users recommend to "flash" the phone or "root" the phone. I am not that computer savvy, and this is my first smartphone, so I am afraid that I am going to destroy the phone if I do not do it properly.
Anyone has this problem? How do you do to resolve it?
Your suggestions are much appreciated.
Thanks.
Unfortunately rooting your phone is the only way to try to resolve your issue.... It is a really easy process using superoneclick I recommend doing some reading on backing up your phone and giving it a go. This phone is only good if rooted and flashed in my opinion... There are exstenive threads around here to teach a noobie enough to flash their phone. You are in the right place and welcome to xda!
Making bad decision's one at a time.

Many thanks for responding to my questions.
If I could return this phone to the seller, I would like to buy a similar phone that has 4G, 8MP, dual core, HDMI capability, Android 2.3. Which ones out there (preferred t-mobile) should I get?
Thanks again.
You just named all the features of the g2x
If you flash any cynogen mod or weapon g2x rom you will have a superphone for cheap just have to install your own software which allows for limitless customization and preference. I would take another look at the phone you just got.

hello, I have an HTC inspire and volume button up dose not work half the time. trying to find a place to get it fixed. e-mailed HTC still waiting to hear back from them. not going threw ATT unless I really have too because then I would get a refurbished phone. Not sure about your specific case, but generally, when you get a product, there is a listing in one of the included booklets that lists authorized service centers. Usually in the warranty booklet.
But with Branded devices, I'm not sure about this. ATT might have removed it, just so you would have to give it to "them".
