I am having a problem with the screen timing out, and going black. This seems to happen regardless of whatever I am doing on the phone (texting, browing internet, etc) The touch recognition does not keep the display on, and the phone will go black right in the middle of my typing. the only way to keep the display on is press the menu button. Any advice? Its a clean install, just installed yesterday

@Chris....Have you rebooted your phone since you flashed the 4.2.11.1 upgrade? This happens to me every time I flash a ROM update for Cyanogen, but it is resolved after the first reboot. I would give that a shot.
@Shadow....Yet again a great example of why people are ditching XDA and moving on to other forums for their dev needs. Funny how number of posts somehow adds you to this elitist group of complainers.
@XDA....Can we please change the membership ratings? My proposal is:
Junior Member -1-50 posts
Member - 51-100 posts
Senior Member/Verified *****/I rule the world so you better know that prior to posting anything - 101+ posts
Feel free to pick one out of the 3 for the last category.....but I am reallying hoping for the second choice...cause it pretty much describes how most of your "Senior Members" act.
....And before I get flamed/suspended.....remember I said "most", not all.
oh damn, i thought i was in that forum... my bad. but thanks bwinger for answering me. yes, that seems to have worked.
You should try wiping and use the base rom and try cyan's rom again.
In settings change timeout to 2min or something higher.

I have a better idea ppl under 500 posts should not be able to make thread at all.
And bwiner just stfu we r right and u r wrong this belongs to Q&A or CY's thread matter of fact cuz ppl r too lazy to read and reaserch half of time their questions dont even get answeared cuz ppl get fed up with crap like i must have reported 6 posts today that should've been in Q&A or other thread.

Honestly, I don't think shadowch31 was out of line whatsoever. It's not being elitist to chastise others for not following simple rules. The OP is a selfish ass, who seems to be under the impression that this forum is dedicated to him and his problems alone. Like I always say, if everyone who had an issue with a ROM posted a new thread, this forum would be absolutely un-navigable. The CyanogenMod has nearly 10,000 posts. Assuming only half of those are issue-related, that would be 5,000 more threads scattered about this forum.
Maybe people aren't ditching XDA because others are putting them in their place. Maybe people are ditching XDA because of all the morons flooding the site with garbage. This is a development forum, not a personalized troubleshooting team for each user.
To the OP, stick to AndroidCommunity or a similar site. If you keep up this crap, you're not going to be welcome here for very long.
ironically most of the garbage on here is from ppl who flame lower ranking members. who gave you the authority to disrespect or even abate other members? Bottomline we ought to have more respect in here for all members. we all started as juniors...but besides that you are a loser if you waste your time arguing with people you don't even know anyway.

Oohhh a feisty one I see, makes it more enjoyable extinguishing your little flame there.
If this had not been his very first post (proving yet again why people should be forced to read the rules and learn what a search button is and it's function) and had it been posted in the correct thead which is ALWAYS on the front page here I would have answered happily. Also might help if this wasn't about the fifth post alone today that has been reported for being in the wrong place I MAY have been nicer.
Now as it happens the OP has held his hands up and said he posted in the wrong place and apologized which is fair enough and hopefully it will be removed and put into the right place where it is going to get the proper attention.
Now we come to you and your oh so inflated ego and possible super hero complex 'coming to the rescue of the weak and feeble' oh please! What's up didn't daddy pay you enough attention growing up? See we can all be a-holes now can't we, just some of us do it with flair

I never argued whether or not this was posted in the incorrect section....it obviously was. That being said....look at how you responded to someone who simply posted in the incorrect section. Wouldnt it have been easier to just say it was in the wrong section and move it?
And whats with the daddy jokes (I think it was supposed to be a joke)?? How old are you? You are really showing your lack of maturity with your responses. And if you didnt notice.....the only peeps that support you in flaming my post are....thats right....you guessed it...Senior Members. Lets try to keep things in perspective here. I have no ego. Someone posted with a problem....and I gave him/her a possible solution. I get paid to do this sir.....so my ego gets its fill of praise at work....I do not need some forum for that....unlike some.

I have to say to all of you that I apologize for any offending outbursts lately, and especially towards the moderators there. I have come to the realization that with a forum of such massive size, that it has to be absolutely hard to try to keep it organized, and I do believe that they may be trying to do a little too much, it's all for the best interest in the long run.
So, this is my formal apology and I would also like to let all of you know that I have requested to be a moderator just for our Hero section, to ease the burden and give you guys a break, as well as for the best cause, which is to help keep what's left of our community, a community, and help rebuild what is being destroyed.
I'm sure some will have their objections and some will support me, but please, can we just keep this thread clean so it's not polluted like all the others? I would appreciate that.
Ill support you but i thought most wanted toast to be a mod from a thread i read tonight.
Is this like an election?
its not that I dont support you I actually think your a pretty cool guy. but I think that there are others that have kept a level head through out everything (at least publicly) that may be a little better for the position if one is to be given.
not the mods have made it very clear that this is not an election but there are a lot of people just expressing their opinion on the matter.

maybe its best we keep people who don't have loads of followers out of a moderating position. People tend to play favorites because they have power.
What's that one phrase someone coined? I don't play favorites, I hate everyone equally?
I actually modified it from its original verbiage, but you get the point.

Well, as I read this, I feel like we are all coming to an understanding of what needs to happen around here. Since I am aware that I was one of the targets of your outbursts (big-headed Clinton), I think that your apology more than suffices. As someone mentioned in another thread, let by gones be by gones (I don't even know if I spelled that correctly )
The idea of having sub forum specific mods is being considered at this point and we might see some changes in the very near future regarding this.
Again, Jerry I feel like we got off with the wrong foot (even though the ban thread was not directed towards you), but since you stepped up to the plate and are apologizing to all the members, you are ok in my book
Don't mean to be a pain, but I do have one little request to ask you. From now on, please watch your language as well. You have been dropping the f-bomb like crazy in your last few posts (not this one here though) and it is against Rule #2 (cursing is not allowed). If you are asking to become a mod, you have to lead by example
Thank you for your sincerity...

I have admitted my shortcomings and apologize for them, and I do have to say in personal defense that I was very upset at the current state of our community and I am pushing hard to be able to change the direction we are heading. The current state is very discouraging to both new and old members alike, and if I can change it, I will. Let me prove it.
I wanted to try and take advantage of the HUSPA in my area and flashed the Cognition ROM on my phone. It went perfect on the first time and the ROM worked perfect except my 3G has slowed down to below 56k modem speeds. Since then I tried going back to stock 2.1, stock 2.2, and tried other modems and nothing has fixed my issue. My phone is out of warranty so I am stuck.
Does anyone have any ideas? I am no Android expert, so please keep that in mind in replies.
Thanks,
-B
There's a Cognition sticky in the Q&A subforum where questions like this should go instead of starting new threads in the wrong forum. Please use the sticky.
Oops? I don't see a move button.
I am also not sure the issue this is related to the ROM specifically. That's why I posted here.

If you don't think it's a cog problem then still post in q&a. That stands for question and answer.
It is specifically a cog question. It is because cog uses official kb1 firmware as a base which means att says no HSUPA for you. You can still use cog you just need to change the kernel and modem to an i9000 and then speed galore. While your at it switch to a i9000 rom because at that point it just makes sense.

If newbies would put half as much effort into reading the forum rules and actually searching and looking around the forum before starting new threads we'd have more time to spend helping people instead of constantly educating them on standard forum etiquette.
Now, if any of us were being paid to be here to help others we would probably be a bit more tolerant, but since we are all just volunteers I think we have a right to try and keep the forum as tidy as possible.
Mine was doing the same thing out of the blue. It was fine but started being REALLY slow after flashing Cognition. A fresh flash after master clear fixed it for me.
I don't get paid to be polite to a stranger either, but I try to do it out of common courtesy. This isn't an exclusive club, and its not my first posting in a forum. I've searched and read stickies.
Why don't you let the moderators moderate.

If you had "full support" then why aren't you a mod? For real, I'm pretty sick of the senior people here giving answers like this. If you don't want to help, don't help, they'll flounder on their own. I know it sucks to be asked the same question over and over, but it happens. We need to either ignore it, and let the thread die, or help, imo. Who gives a crap if there are questions in General? Again, IMO, there shouldn't be 2 separate forums, because no one gets it, there should be General, Accessories, Development, and Themes and Apps.

I thought I answered your question very directly. Only iphone 4 users get access to HSUPA with att branded phones. Official att captivate phones don't. Switch your kernel and modem and you'll be fine.

It's common courtesy to post in the correct area and research before starting a thread.
First of many topics. Two of the major developers for the #Thunderbolt have departed ways with XDA. It is a sad day to say the least, but one that has been coming. What are your thoughts? New Devs must have a point of view. What is the state of XDA? Will foul mouthed trolls keep pushing great developers out of XDA?
*edit* Mispelling, since I know people are strict on grammar
I think a lot of the problem is the combination of elitist attitudes (really funny when a lot of these people don't contribute a damn thing) and newbs that want to be spoonfed without even putting in the slightest effort.

I think we should stop having threads like these every 2 hours...
The Facebook generation at its best. I've been lurking for a year, active over a month. In that time the forums have literally degraded into anarchy. The moderators here at XDA have to accept some, if not all, of the blame. Growing pains maybe, but their actions in some cases and lack of any action whatsoever in really any of the threads speaks volumes.

This is the General section... Do you really have that big of a problem with people beginning their own thread to discuss a topic that interests them strictly because the conversation has already been had in a different thread..? In my opinion, you just spot-on proved what dbu said. If you honestly don't have a positive contribution to any given thread, then why even throw in your two cents? You've done nothing but spread negativity.
Anyway, I think a combination of flame wars, reoccurring problems, and flat-out disrespect has driven many of the TB's devs away. I've been active on XDA for all of a month, but the way in which older members act towards new ones really puts me off to contributing to any thread within a mile of the development section. That's not to say that every older member acts rudely towards every newer one, but that's certainly the trend I observe here, and quite frankly, putting myself in the shoes of the BAMF team or Chingy, I wouldn't want to be a contributing member of a community like this one. I'm sure it hasn't always been this way, but presently it is, and that's really a shame.
I have been a long time lurker too and i can agree. I am someone who can appreciate the hardwork of these devs but quite frankly I think some are too quickly to get there butt hurt over what some tard is saying.
Sometimes I feel like we are in a locker room and everyone's strutting around trying to proove how big there junk is.
If someone wants to depart because of rumors, he said she said, or what have ya. That's cool. Best of luck.

Dev's leaving because of people acting childish...please!!!
I've been on XDA long enough to know dev on dev disputes are the most childish, frequent, longest lasting and tit for tat of all the non sense that goes on in these forums. they as a whole cant even regulate the foolishness amongst themselves so they really have no room for fingerpointing.. Between this phone and my last rarely had a day or two gone by without one dev jumping into another dev's thread throwing a jab or an insult and even after it appears resolved three months later same two devs are in some thread back at it as if they are unfamiliar with the PM button.
That said guess what, it was perfectly fine by me. Not like I was paying for any of this (yes I have donated). Just dont tell me these devs are above the problem and not apart of it.
I also dont really understand why people are so pissed they have to go somewhere other than XDA to get roms like they get free mints by using XDA. I use gingeritis and I dont give a rats ass where its hosted as long as its hosted.
people take things too seriously on the "internet".
it's not new for devs to get pissed and leave xda.... im sure bamf will be back as i doubt his roms will get that much exposure on a different site. sucks as i love bamf 2.1, i didn't even know he left until this morning. the worst part about hosting on another site is troubleshooting and general questions. these sites never seem to be a hive of activity and not many answer questions there.
Bamf is leaving in protest of xda censoring someone's religious signature, not because of trolls.

Sent to you via my handheld cellular communications device
I have been here for a few months.
I struggled trying to learn some stuff to contriburte to themeing and stuff. I will tell i agree with some others as to the problems:
1. Some of these dev(no names at all) likr to share info and help spread the info, while others have this holier than thou attidude. Just search, or google it is not an answer. I don;t want to be sppon feed, but if you can't answer in a good manner, then skip the message and move on. The dev's should never been calling users idiot's, stupid, or whatever name they can come up with. This site was here to share, and for them to develope thier wares.
2. Moderators play a huge role as to why this is goign downhill. I have report several items in which i think a conversation has goen to far, and not once have ever gotten a response back from a moderator. Not a will look into it, I talk to the person.. nothing.. So one gets the feelign unless your a dev, or been here a long time, you get anything from a moderator.... dang shame.
3. Why are not the moderator taken a more active role? You how many times you can go into the many, many threads and see someone name calling or even cursing? I could care less about cursing per say, but this type of envioriment has no place for it. No a single thing from moderators... nothing...
4. There have been some that put some much into this, and get cetain threads stickied.. I love those people.. But as word gets out about this site, more users will be here vs devs, and unless some control is put into place this community will continue to go downhill.
And now I return you to your nomally scheduled programming...
I agree that the mods play a huge roll in a lot of this. Many of them do no moderating at all, which is a shame. Personally I think Xda has grown to large with not enough oversight to many threads on exactly the same thing, usually on the same page. Time was a mod would step in and either merge them, or lock all but one.
And yes, at times Google it or search for it is the correct answer. How else does one learn but by research and coming to the answer. Getting handed the answer may allow someone to do something, but they have no idea why it was that way, nor in many cases how to fix something if it occurs later. By looking for the answer ave finding it, the person is generally better able to help themselves later on.

People get way too worked up over these forums. The whole idea of forums is a way to exchange ideas and opinions, it is a guarantee that people will disagree or get mad. Yes there will be trolls and flamers. If this is too traumatizing, maybe just stick to published articles. To try and pretend you understand why a dev makes a personal decision over whether he is going to be associated with this site or not is a little ridiculous. I didn't read much of Chingy's threads, but BAMF's were overwhelmingly positive.
Also, not everybody spends 24x7 reading these threads, so if someone posts a thread slightly similar to an existing one I have no problem with it. The people who cry about this over and over again are worse than any trolls IMO. No one forces you to click on the thread and read it.
despite this post....

I agree with you. The way the members who have been on XDA over 6 months treat the newer members is ridiculous and some people never have anything positive to contribute and just browse XDA to piss on the posts and threads of others. I for one used to tell people all the time that they've posted in the wrong thread but realized that it: 1) wasn't my job to police the threads: 2) It did nothing but spread negative energy, so I learned to ignore them. Making other members feel like dopes is extremely counter productive.
Just as a side, no one knows what the future will bring and in my opinion XDA will be fine. When I had the captivate one of the favorite developers over there (DG) left for a little while and everyone thought the sky was falling, he eventually came back stronger. I'm not saying that team bamf will return, but hey, you never know.

And also, I saw the most disgusting post yesterday by another member in the sense 3 thread that I've ever seen on this forum, which he later tried to edit. Freedom of speech doesn't free you from wrath of public opinion nor give you the right to be an ass. People really have no idea what freedom of speech means.

I think the problem is a bunch of elitist nerds sitting behind a desk looking for drama. They wanted to leave these boards to promote their own board - end of story. Its really simple to just ignore trolls. They want sympathy and everyone to follow them to their website.

You expect people on an internet message board to use common sense, that went out the window the first day AOL 2.0 came out.

On this point, let me play out a little scenario for everyone. I'm 31 years old, have a foul mouth, tough skin, and don't give a crap attitude. I'm not offended by anything that is ever said on these forums, because let's be honest, internet tough guys are pretty amusing to watch.
However, I have a 14 year old stepdaughter with a MyTouch 4G. She saw Unity running on my Bolt, and really wanted the same thing on her phone. She's a smart kid, and a bit of tech nerd, so I figured I'd teach her how to root it and flash the ROM herself so she could get a little sense of accomplishment and maybe learn something in the process.
I couldn't even let her read the forums in good conscience. It's eff this and ish that all over this place. When I started on XDA, there were very few devices and the G1, Hero, Eris and Droid 1 were the big ones. It was a really close knit community with a lot of quality people helping each other out. You can still look at some of those older forums and find some great people (both users and devs).
That's not to say there aren't great people lurking around now, but unfortunately, their worthwhile comments get drowned out by the useless nonsense. It's the useless nonsense that I feel causes more problems than anything. Someone says "Hey, I'm having problem A" and within 15 minutes you have either 1) 13 replies of "+1 lol, 10Chars" or 2) 13 replies of "Why didn't you search you idiot. You're so noob".
So now, we've bumped an entire page of useless garbage. Now me personally, I won't read back more than 2 or 3 pages when I check our threads in the morning, so what happens to the legitimate question? It get's lost in the BS.
I get that XDA has grown probably far more than ever anticipated and it requires tons of moderators and maintenance, but how can KernelRapist be ok, but I can't put "I love Jesus" in my sig? Anyway, I miss the old XDA, and maybe it will be back some day, but for now, I'll lurk, but you'll see me over at the Team BAMF forums.

I originally posted this over in the 1.8.6 Thread in response to someone's mindless banter about us leaving because our feelings were hurt or whatever.
Although I can't speak for everyone, the above is why I'm leaving. XDA has become one huge flame war and a place for "kids" to vent their rage. I use quotations, because I mean kids mentally, regardless of age. Some of the most talented and respectful people I have met on these forums are still teenagers and then on the flipside I find out some foul mouthed flamer is a 40 something with 3 kids.
Although this isn't true of every device's forums, I'm seeing it in more and more of them at time progresses. Like I said above, I'll still lurk, as will most of the team most likely. We do still have a lot of friends on other devices over here, but it's just too much nonsense to sift through to progress our development any further in this environment.

uh... so just ignore it?
You've probably read the new Operation Iron Fist going on here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/announcement.php?f=1159
As of now, I will no longer stand for the way some things are going here. If I see ANY trolling, flaming, or disrespectful behaviour, you will receive an infraction on the spot. No more warnings.
Also, offtopic chatter on the development forums is exceptionally high here. This will stop, since I will also infract upon it.
Just one more thing: if you encounter ANY of above mentioned offences, let me know ASAP, instead of foulmouthing about it on the public forum. If I see that, you WILL get an infraction too.
I am sorry for acting this way, but you guys are forcing me to do this.
Sounds good to me, unless "iron fist" translates in reality to Naziism.
There's a difference in insulting people, and trying to contribute and being attacked. I tried to contribute by pointing out that there were several bugs that were fairly severe. If a user doesn't point them out, what's the point of ever releasing anything beyond 1.0 and then closing the thread?
However, there's a small group of users in the community who have resorted to fanaticism, and when someone goes that direction it shouldn't be tolerated. When I get criticized for bringing up a bug, and told I'm a "habitual complainer" how is that supposed to encourage anyone to want to participate in the DEVELOPMENT of anything for any phone? For some reason the Infuse 4G participants who I'm referring to seem really on edge, and speak out (often personally) about anyone who says anything aside from praise.
We're not here to be reassured that the world is 100% good, and that everything everyone says is amazing, we're here to participate in an active development community, be it as a developer, or as a contributing end user. The moment you criticize your user base is the moment you go from being an open community of developers and end users to a system of dictatorship, and closed platformism (yeah, it's a word now because I said so), lol.
To the people who squash anyone who's new, or doesn't know something, or volunteers that they're having a problem and need help, STOP. There's no need to make someone feel bad for asking a question a second time in a 3000+ post thread and then criticizing them for not reading the answer in post 2106 on page 291. There's no need to tell someone they are full of crap when they say they're having internet speed issues, and that since it works for you to your satisfaction that they're obviously less intelligent. There's no reason to tell someone they're wrong just because you disagree with them.
To make this a "community" everyone has to be understanding that everyone has their opinions, and that we're all here to make the phone in whatever thread a better phone.
Without developers, this site wouldn't exist. Without end users wanting mods, this site wouldn't exist. If you continue to alienate anyone who's new and turn this into a fanboy forum, it's just going to send them back to Apple iOS forums and devices. If that's how you want to help turn the mobile community, fine, but personally, I don't.
Bella
True to some extent. But the main problem is this:

Most people here think they can say ANYTHING to ANYONE. That's not what this forum is about. It's aimed at development and not discussion. If you feel you should debate in any way, move to another forum.
And you can call my method anything you like, I used to warn everyone before acting, but that's over. You of all people should know that.
I'm not about to take any sides, but Bella, you're completely out of line. Being part of the community is different than creating your own community. This is a group working together towards a common goal. To reach that goal, we must provide detailed, factual and documented information to the dev(s) so that we can enable them to create the best possible releases. I've seen no images, logcat, etc. that was provided by you. Granted, there are several others in the forum not providing these details, but there are several who have provided very specific and detailed information. It took far too long for you to provide this kind of information and it only turned the conversation south. You are not alone, so know I am not singing you out; there were several others who contributed to a negative environment. The reason for my posting this is because you were the only one to come here and plead your case.
That said, this is a community filled with individuals. We all have different personalities and will act and react differently to different scenarios. Hopefully this can be the beginning of a constructive and collaborative effort by us all to truly bring our Infuse to the next level.
I will not retort nor reply, I am simply sharing my views and experiences in this forum so far. The Captivate started off rough, but never reached this level. It won't be easy resurrecting this one from the ashes, but it can be done.
Right, you say I was unable to provide any factual data, yet I responded each time with factual and accurate data that was requested by GTG. I think some people get frustrated because often issues that come up are issues they just don't know how to solve, and often that leads to accusations that the end user is crazy, unintelligent, or just uncooperative, when the case is the opposite.
Clearly in the end I identified a data connectivity issue first (review thread if you like) that's been significant enough for him now to pull the ROM until he can resolve the issue. Rather than fellow members responding with productive comments, they responded in an attacking manor. My point was valid (as vetted by GTG at this point), and for those who weren't having the issue, why pipe in and say there's no problem? Do you take your car to the mechanic and tell him everything is working fine?
Initially I was called a complainer for bringing it to the attention. Unfortunately as a developer you can't expect that an end user is always going to be able to provide the detail you need. If I had the experience and desire to build a ROM I'd do it myself. It's kinda like building a house then expecting to know where to find a pipe junction inside a wall that only you know where it is. There's only so much expectation you can have of the end users.
Additionally, this is not the Google Developers Forum. This is not a forum of official Android releases, this is a hobbyist community of people who want to tinker with their phone. If a developer wants to be in an environment of developing for Google, maybe they ought to apply for a position at google.com/jobs. The ROMs that come out of XDA are great, but we have to realize there is nothing official about anything that comes from these forums.
I think the comment should be changed from "development, not discussion" to development and on-topic discussion. Because if you discourage discussion, it's like discouraging shopping in a mall. Discussion is what makes a forum like this great.
I'll certainly commit to staying on topic in the future.
Have at it neo. Thanks

Bella, you never provided the data requested. You just compared two modems - this was NOT what gtg asked for. He asked you to compare 2.0.1 to 2.0.2 performance. After looking through the thread, I'm fairly certain never provided this information, you just maintained that you had provided the requested data because of your modem comparison tests.
Perhaps you were under the mistaken impression that 2.0.1 to 2.0.2 was a modem firmware change - if you had opened the update zip to analyze the contents you would see that it was not. There's a reason gtg specifically asked you to compare 2.0.1 to 2.0.2 and not to compare UCKE3 vs UXKG3 modems, and the latter is what you did.
Also, the network connectivity issue was only one of the reasons gtg pulled the ROM. He was trying to be nice, but the poor attitude of many users in the thread was a MAJOR contribution to the ROM pull also. In addition to that, at least two developers have stated either in posts here or on IRC that they are extremely uneasy about releasing any ROM images on these forums because of the poor behavior on these threads. It is also why I currently have a "no support, don't PM me" policy for the kernel I released - it was the only solution to getting experienced users the build that many were asking for without subjecting myself to the painful experience gtg did.
PLEASE have at it! I haven't visited this forum in a few years (iPhone) and now that i'm back with an Infuse this place isn't anything like it use to be.
My 2cents.

The Inspire and Aria forums were much more friendly, it's not this site, it's just the Infuse forum in general. I had a very positive experience in the Inspire threads
I think it was not the fact that you raised an issue that bothered the developers, it was the manner in which it was raised.
Also, look at it from a developer's perspective - when the thread is filled with posts that clearly indicate that the poster didn't even read the first post of the thread in its entirety (not saying that you did this, but many others did), it gets massively frustrating.
I've never seen so many people completely fail to read/comprehend the first post of a thread as the Infused v2 thread. Even after it was put into the first post as a known issue, we still got reports of HDMI not working every 3-4 pages.
After what could be effectively described only as an all-weekend hack session two weekends ago, everyone's been a bit exhausted/burned out. But everyone keeps demanding MORE MORE MORE!

I agree 100% ... the only thing I can say is that remember that many people come from iphone, aka the dev team blog, which is much different. On theirs you read from the bottom up. I don't think that's an excuse since XDA uses the globally accepted standard in forums. But yeah, last night there were about 25 people in an hour asking why the links didn't work, lol.
Not really sure if this is on topic or not.... I just looked up "Iron Fisting" and this was the first result http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=iron fisting

looking forward to clean and healthy forum.
I hope I'm not going to make any enemies by saying this, but I can't say I entirely agree with this being an iron fist. So far all that has been done is the Infused v2 ROM thread was locked. On any other forum I frequent they start with punishing the offenders individually, and only lock the thread as a last resort. I didn't see anybody get personally warned and I didn't see anybody get banned, and it really was only a handful that caused problems. I know there were a LOT of people that were posting the same questions over and over, but that can't be helped most of the time. The ones that were bickering and really ruining the thread are still posting happy as can be. I know it sounds like I'm questioning the mod(s) or being ungrateful, but I don't mean it that way. I just feel like we lost the ability to have an important and fun discussion before all the possible options were explored. Now if gtg asked for the thread to be locked then that is an entirely different matter, but I didn't get that impression from reading the last post.
I really do enjoy these forums and always have, and feel like this board is run very well. By this board, I mean the Infuse board. I just wanted to say that I don't know if I entirely agree with the way the infused thread was handled.
EDIT: I wanted to add that I know the mod(s) do this for free in their spare time, and I know that you can't police it 24/7. I really do appreciate your efforts at running this board, and the ONLY thing that I've seen that I take "issue" with is the handling of the Infused thread. Maybe there are things behind the scenes that I didn't see, and if that is the case then I apologize.
The Infused forum is only locked temporarily, as I asked the dev to contact me when his rom is finished.
Thanks for your support people. Just remember to report anything that's offensive/disrespectful/wrong/etc. and I'll take care of it.

I did see where it was locked only temporarily. I just wanted to get that off my chest, so to speak. It wasn't REALLY bugging me, but I did get pretty frustrated with how people were acting. It was pretty ridiculous. Like I said before, I really do appreciate your efforts to keep our forums running smoothly. Thank you for your continued presence and work, and for not taking my post personally, (at least I don't think you did ).
