Just a thread to post screen shots of your Sensations Bench scores, and discuss what settings, apps, scripts, etc. you're using ,to see how far we can take our dual core and how much we can learn about optimal settings, etc. Lets see who can be the fastest and how they got there. People on Sense Roms feel free to post here too and have your Sense Wars. AOSP ROMs will almost always be higher on bench scores since there is less bogging down the system.
Benches can be manipulated.
For example- turning up the settings/overclocking to run the phone harder and at maximum rates. They may also be manipulated in other fashions. Feel free to question any score.
No SS=No proof.
Use whatever Bench you want. Antutu and CF-Bench are the standards, as Quadrant often gives crazy high or low scores on its own. Though no bench is truly accurate, because when ran at max with Airplane Mode on, they never return the same number. Leaving you to kind of weed out the bad tests and average out your score. They can be used to get a good general idea of performance related settings.
They should also be done at daily driver settings and clocks to find out what it kind of speed we can get out of our DD settings.
Be honest about your settings. This is only for fun and/or seeing what set ups/numbers/clockings work. Which save battery, etc.

Benches shouldn't be lived by. Quadrant is a very flawed test IMO. On my daily driver settings this is my score. So this is why I say post your settings as well so we can find(hopefully) a good general performance standard for settings/mods/scripts, etc.

This is so true. I underclocked my phone to 768MHz to try out how it would work for a day. I ended up entirely forgetting I had done that until I ran a benchmark.
seeing all this is amazing, I am very tempted to try it out, but this beast is super fast with having to OC it, lol

I don't know if you're right or not but I just flashed the 1.5 kernel and at 1.4 this thing is as fast as a computer..I hope you're right because I don't wanna go back to 1ghz..
Got 2016 quadrant after a reboot which is 300 higher than I got at 1 gig..

Right below the dual core, High performance Smart Phones section. MSM8655 is our processor, it comes @ 1.0ghz, plam pre3 has the same and it comes @ 1.4ghz. The chip can take it but I think it was lowered for battery concern. I notice a lot of speed just flying through different programs when OC to 1.5, it opens them much faster, could be the I/O tweaks as well though. As for PC, mine puts out 42 gflops compared to my phones 49 mflops, still a long way off, thats 0.001% of the processing power. This phone is no slouch, so I guess it speaks more for my computers power.
sweet....im just gonna run it at 1.4 and since i have the 2750 battery i'm not gonna worry about battery life at all. i love this phone right now..

Highest score I've gotten is 2732, although the highest one i have a screenshot of is 2724. I posted it in the lg g2x benchmark thread a while ago.
EDIT: just ran it on the leaked gingerbread rom and got 2805
I dunno much about benchmarking android devices, I assume it's like running one on a PC where you really want to do it with a clean install and nothing unnecessary running. If that's the case, then my phone ought to be able to do much better than this.

earlier today on my 3rd or 4th run.
The g2x would get a much much better score in quadrant if it didn't score so low in the 2d test. It seems to score the same in the 2d test as most single core devices at around 19fps. If you look at the individual test part scores you can see that the difference in the g2x score and the sgsII score is about the difference in the 2D test score.
I can get over 2800 with EagleBlood 1.03 Gingerbread. I turn on Airplane mode, turn off auto sync, and turn on wi-fi, and get over 2800 easily.
G2x at 1.3 GHz, using quad std you can.t see the tint I/O score compared to my higher scoring NS. Any other quad i will thus post from quad adv.
I/O really kills the avg at ~1400 vs ~4500

It's been said a million times on here, but incase you didn't know Quadrant isn't a reliable benchmark app. It's not compatible with dual core and the results can easily be altered by certain apps.
Is there a reliable app or test you would say works..
Sent from my HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio using XDA App
I'd lay off of the benchmarks. Do you prefer a high benchmark but laggy experience, or just a good experience. This is just my POV and is why I never benchmark my phone. I don't see the need for it.

CF Bench and Antutu are good ones.
Oh and there will never be a case where a phone is laggy yet has great benchmarks. The opposite has been true for me each and every time.
One example: I kept seeing CM7 lag like nuts after build 2 and on came out. I kept seeing my benchmark scores suffer tremendously too, but was mocked up and down for it. Then it came out that CM7 had an issue where the second core was turning off and staying off for some.
They have their purpose. Its not like you can say that a particular score on CF Bench is needed in order to properly utilize some app or game, but you CAN see whether or not "enhancements" actually do anything when flashing different ROMs. Most of the time, the phone isnt laggy. The scores could be anything from great to borderline alright. A dev should be using benchmarks to see if their work is producing better scores (which WILL translate to better performance) or worse scores. Now, looking at my old mytouch 3g scores....I laugh at it and acknowledge that it cannot run most the things my Sensation can run (single core aside). So, if your scores is 300, you can be sure you wont be running apps that a phone with a score of 7000 can.
Quadrant is nice for its FPS tests. You can see in real time how the FPS is doing. I can clock down to 800Mhz and see crummy FPS and then crank up to 1.5Ghz and see good FPS.
Alot of you haters need to figure out WHAT you hate so much about benchmarks because alot of the comments seem indoctrinated.
EDIT: They are also nice for stress testing your phone when doing something like clocking up or undervolting the CPU (ill advised!).

They may have, putting a check in place that queries the CPU's specific ID to find out what batch it's from. If it's from a good batch, 1200, if not, 1000. That's a POSSIBILITY.

Very interesting.... I wouldn't put it past Motorola to only overclock the "good" chips, nice quality assurance there Moto . First time I heard about this I just thought "Well okay, an overclock from GB stuck through to ICS, no big deal", but it's been confirmed that isn't the case. Strange how some are overclocked and some are not. A big company like Moto shouldn't have "good" batches and "bad" batches, if that is the case we will never get an official word on this, maybe it's a kind of soak test, trying the 1.2 over clock on certain phones only..... But I don't know.

I think it does something to check if your cpu is capable of being stable at the higher speed. Unfortunately, mine is still at 1000Mhz also. I was hoping for the higher speed but not so lucky.
Its not that simple of a check to determine if it can run...
- Mine bootlooped when OC'd to 1200 on 2.3.5
- Its 1200 on 4.0 fine
- Others had it OC'd to 1200 with no problem on 2.3.5
- They have it set by default to 1000 on ICS
I made a survey about this some time ago, but almost all of my theories went down the drain...
mine stayed at 1000mhz.:banghead:

Looks like your CPU is underclocked or set to a power-saving governor. Check the Performance tab under settings.
Honestly, it's not worth worrying about, unless you really care about benchmarks. Are you noticing any actual performance issues in day-to-day use?
Arbitrary numbers mean nothing.
As long as your phone handles the task, who cares?

The only Android phone I've had where Quadrant scores are really high compared to stock with Cyanogenmod was an Atrix. It jumped from around 2500 to 5500.That's 3000 over stock. It didn't show too much of a difference though like it sounds. Every other phone I've stayed nearly the same or a little less.
