[APP] Photo Sync - Android Apps and Games

Hey there
I was missing an app that automatically sync my camera photos to cloud services.
So i just went ahead and coded one
It's not very pretty until now. But, hey! You are not going to see the actual app many times anyway...
It currently supports syncing with:
Picasa
Flickr
Facebook
Dropbox
You can limit the synced image size (800px, 2048px, unlimited) as well as check to only sync via wifi connection.
Really looking forward to your feedback!

What about Dropbox syncing? It is planned?
I don't really like to upload all my photos to Facebook or Flickr, and for Picasa there's already Google +, a Dropbox syncing would be a buy for me

@Dukko
Well, great idea And here we go:
v0.2: Added Dropbox support

An option to set which folder to upload to would be great, thanks.
edit: in Picasa btw

Getting an error "Invalid User - Only the app owner can receive access token for this app while in development mode" when trying to connect to DropBox
---------- Post added at 12:31 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:29 AM ----------
Picasa is working. How do I sync it to a particular set in Picasa? The settings cog doesn't do anything next to Picasa

@awojtas
damn, dropbox api key is still in review. hope they approve it soon
@ms20,awojtas
Good point. Selecting the folder for each service will be the next feature. will complete it over the weekend.

WebDAV Support and Sync only on specified WiFi networks would be awesome!
(e.g. for syncing to free 25GB T-Online Medienzentrum WebDAV)

box.net support would go well since some of us got 50gb accounts

Installed but haven't tried it yet. Will this delete pics deleted from phone?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using XDA Premium App

Thanks. Nice work. Dropbox is syncing now.

I use the SugarSync app for this, but it doesn't support 2-way syncing.
Does this? In other words, if I delete a picture off my phone, will it delete it from dropbox on the next sync? What about if I delete a picture off dropbox, will it delete it off my phone?
Not quite sure if I'd want that, but it might be nice if it was an option. I realize it's probably a lot more programming to get that to work though.
How about box.net since we all have huge box.net accounts now and Sugarsync syncing?

@awojtas
dropbox has approved the app. can you please confirm that it's working now?

@ludow
thanks for the info
Ok next on the list are box.net and sugarsync then

Hi,
FC everytime when booting my SGSII. I have to manually "start" the service.

Hey guys,
i decided to first add some important features and bugfixes:
* FC on boot -> fixed
* Added settings screens for facebook and picasa where you can select the folder
* Big change in in sync logic, should make everything more stable
Check out the update via Android Market

Nice! Can I add a suggestion? Could it be possibile to add a setting menu to Dropbox syncing and let us choose where to sync out photos?

Can you please add support to box.net.

Please add both
Amazon S3
and
Amazon Cloud Drive

user choice is the best plan. One option is sync whereas another is archival.

Hey,
next features/services in my queue:
box.net
sugarsync
I'll have a look at those two amazon services, too.
For the folder choose option on dropbox: dropbox offers two types of access for an external app. FULL access and APP access. When i request FULL access i can read all of your data and do whatever it want with it. I'm sure most users would not want that. the APP access gives the app access to a "private" folder under the "Apps" folder in your dropbox. I think that is the better solution for dropbox.

Still FC'ing when phone starts, SGSII.

Market Link (FREE): https://market.android.com/details?id=com.locomolabs.socialblast
SocialBlast provides you with an easy and enjoyable way to update your status on multiple social networks with one blast! We currently support Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Foursquare. As soon as Google+ has an API, we'll be adding it as well.
When you first open the app you'll create your SocialBlast account, which will give you the ability to sync your social accounts across devices with ease. Then you can add as many social accounts as you'd like, even multiple accounts from each network. When you add your social accounts to SocialBlast, those tokens are encrypted and stored securely on the SocialBlast server for easy access on any of your devices with SocialBlast support (iPhone and iPad clients coming soon).
The home screen presents three icons on the left. The first lets you choose which accounts the current blast will update. The second lets you take or choose a photo to include. The third gives you the ability to checkin with Facebook and/or Foursquare, and even checkin with your friends for Facebook accounts.
Once you've queued up these social update actions, you hit update and everything is sent to your social network accounts and they're updated effortlessly.
SocialBlast is a free, ad-supported, application for basic usage. We offer an in-app purchase for SocialBlast Pro which unlocks all of the features and removes the advertisements.

Thanks for checking it out. I debated doing that, heavily, but one of the main features I wanted to add was the sync ability. So if you install SocialBlast on your phone and tablet, you can sync your social accounts across the devices using your SocialBlast account.
I just published version 1.0.1 of SocialBlast to the Android Market. The changes are as follows:
1.0.1 - Released 9/6/11
- Clearing data on the server should not remove your SocialBlast account.
- Remove ScrollView usage on main screen (message box stays, everything else moves).
- Accept incoming photo for sharing.
- (BUG) Better error handling around photos.
- (BUG) Layout issue was causing Facebook friends list to not show up.
- (BUG) On certain devices, the account activity could cause an exception.
SocialBlast sounds really good, i am gonna check it for right away.
Thanks for taking a look!
The next 3 people who post here and have a SocialBlast account, I'll enable the Pro features for them for free.
Just downloaded to check it out, should add apps2sd support because almost 7mb is huge for an app like this. I usually use tweetcaster to post to my fb and twitter accounts. will give this a try and see if I likes, thanks

I'm planning on adding a widget, which is why I haven't enabled app2sd. It's a large package because it contains the background layouts for phones/tablets in one apk package. Thanks for giving it a download!
You could always add apps2sd and a widget, that way theres a choice. if you want to use the widget dont move the apk to the sd card. If you dont wanna use the widget you have the option to move it the sd. I wasnt sure aboiut the colors of the UI but after seeing it on my evo I think its really nicely done!

Very true, and I'll likely go that direction. I do worry that the general Android audience might be confused by that, if they've moved it to SD and try to use a widget, but perhaps it won't be an issue.
Thanks for the feedback!
True about the general android audiences, but also consider storage space on phones aren't plentiful on most phones, some users will see almost 7mb and say thats huge! uninstall cuz some are stupid like that lol. Just tested posting with it, extremely smooth! very nice

Add Effects (Filters)
Manually Rotate photos
Crop Photos
Set the caption of each photo
Easily Tag your Friends with Face Detection
Instant Upload. Automatically upload as soon you take a photo
Tag the location and place
Upload to your Groups or Events
Upload to your Page and it's albums
Holo themed. Just because it looks nice.

Yep, uploading to Groups and Events is on my todo list.
Exporting a photo from dropbox to photup, crashes the latter. I've sent you a couple of crash reports.
I like it so far, although i wish i could just upload photos to the predifined "Mobile Uploads" album that the official facebook app uses.
This application has some potential there, keep it up

[APP][1.6+] Facebook Ticker for Andriod

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=it.cpiacente.fticker
Did you ever wanted to stay updated with whatever your friends do on Facebook? Now with Facebook Ticker for Android you can!!
This app allows you to follow the Facebook ticker stream that you can find in the upper right corner of the Facebook desktop site. The Facebook ticker includes all the updates regarding your friends, updates you will not find in your Facebook home page or in any other Facebook mobile app. (right now they are only available on the desktop site of Facebook)
Simply login with your Facebook credentials and the app will display you the latest real-time actions of your friends/pages you like. You can scroll up to fetch new updates, or scroll down and let the app fetch older updates.
This is the first version of this app, new features will soon be available...please suggest some in comments.
Connection problems:
A small number of users are experiencing connection issues, i'm working on this problem, please be patient.
ATTENTION PLEASE:
-----THIS IS NOT AN OFFICIAL FACEBOOK APP.------
The credentials are NOT stored anywhere. Only the email will be stored on your phone.
This app needs permission to connect to internet to login to your Facebook account and to download the ticker stream. All the connections to facebook are secured using https. The app also connects to an google ad server to display ads on the bottom of the app. No other connections are established. These are the only connection taking places : you->facebook, you->googleAdServer.
Your data is safe and sound. If you don't trust this app ... just don't use it

I'm the developer it's not the official facebook login page because you cannot access the ticker stream from the standard facebook api, else any other facebook app would have had that stream right?
That's why the basic authentication values are needed.
No worries i don't steal passwords, i would be stupid to publish such app with my personal account.
Any android developer can check that no other communication than towards facebook and google ad servers are made.

I want a way to remove the ticker from the facebook app. On a Samsung tablet (Note 10.1 2014 ed) when you split screen 2 apps you cant see your timeline as the bloody ticker takes up most of the screen. You get a column of letters and small words.
I've been searching for a way to remove the ticker but cant find any. Does anyone have an idea?
I'm trying to remove it from the Android app NOT chrome. I got an extension which does that nicely, its the android app I want to remove the ticker from.

Hey thank you very much for this great app. We really need a Dropsync for google drive.
However, I just noticed it is only one way sync... Will you update it in the future to 2-way sync?
App data sync is not important for me, but having automatic syncing folders with my books and docs is a really life saver
good job!
Looks very good. But missing some important features like
- previous mentioned 2-way sync
- AES local offline encryption
Encryption is a must have feature for me.
Would be great if you can implement these feature requests.
The important thing I miss in the official app and yours is to search inside the document. Its a big deal for me and I dont know how to solve it.
Nice idea and much needed :good:
It would be nice if external sdcard folders were supported for syncing. Also, support for syncing at particular times/dates would be great

+2. External sd card is something I would love to have, I'd probably buy the donate version for that.
Thank you for this app, we really need this but as said before, 2 ways please and extsd support.
I found a bug, trying to create a new folder directly from the app, i get a notification that is done but the folder doens't appear on the list.
Here's another vote for 2-way sync and extsd support!
I'd love to stop using DropSync and instead rely on syncing with my GDrive.
is there any news regarding the 2way sync? thats the only thing i need
Keep trying these, thought this was the one, worked ok on my rooted droid, even with the 2 limit. But as others have said most storage is done on ext sdcard and without access to the mount /mnt/sdcard one has with root, no way to access a phones main datastore. What a shame. They probably should note ROOT REQUIRED!
And after almost a year? DEAD APP or what?
5 minutes to edit? Guess I should try another forum?

[Q] Polaris interface with Google Keep in Google Drive

Background: My company is a Google Apps for Business enterprise user and I need handrwritten to text notes for a lot of meetings. The ideal solution is using Google Keep, or S-Notes with S-Pen and then syncing to Google Drive.
Situation: 1) When I use Google Keep everything works fine until I open the document in the Drive and it is a Polaris, or Kings Office file format, not Google Docs - and not editable; 2) When I use S-Note, everything works until I open, edit and try to re-save the file within Google Drive. I get an error message: file not saved.
The Solution: I can write directly into a Googls Doc using the S-Pen but prefer using Google Keep, or S-Notes.
Is anyone successfully using Google Keep with S-Pen, or S-Note to save to documents to Google Drive, editing those documents and then re-saving to Google Drive?
Thank you!

And when I even try Polaris documents to the Drive, they are either txt files, or you cannot edit them.

Have you tried Kingsoft Office? You can sync with Dropbox. Box.net and Google drive. There is the standard version available on Play and a version for the S-pen, which they brought out last November that you can download from their site here: http://www.kingsoftstore.com/android-office-samsung Kingsoft is my preferred Office app on the Note.
Thanks, I down loaded the apk and see the sync / share with Evernote but not Google Drive ... I will investigate tonight
Duh ... Found it ... Now to test ... Not real intuitive how you actually get it to sync once you link with Google Drive ... I am not getting it to automatically Sync

I personally like LectureNotes partly because of its simple formats. It saves all the pages as individual bitmap images, easy to view and edit with every device known to mankind (kind of). Text saves either in the picture or as a separate .txt file. It's not exactly what you asked for, but my suggestion would be as follows: Use LectureNotes for note-taking on the tablet. Download the app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=dk.tacit.android.foldersync.full to sync your LectureNotes folder with the cloud service (ie Google drive).
You will now have an awesome note taking app and will have your notes avaliable everywhere on basically every device.

Let's you sketch or write with your spen and when finished adds it to keep as a new note. From what I can let there is no editing after its added to keep because it saves as an image but I am just happy I can save to keep and keep everything in one place.
Hope it helps
