[App] Trillian beta for android

I searched this forum and did not find anything, so thought I'll create one.
Trillian for Android is out.
Best Android IM client I've used so far.
Nice features in short:
- chat tabs
- bubble conversation interface
- your account details are grouped and saved as an 'astra' account on their site.
- chats sent while you are offline are emailed to you

i've been using it and it's been great!

It force closes a lot when I multi-task back to it. I'm sending logs so I'm sure all the kinks will get worked out by the time it hits the market.

I get the FC error when I switch back to it too.
Another think I hope they don't do is add ads to the free version.

I noticed that I don't get a notification (sound nor LED) after receiving a message, and I have to open the app then the notification will appear.
Anyone with the same problem?

I didn't have that problem, but I did have the force close issue.
Also I don't think it yet handles links... tried tapping on a link for half a minute, nothing happened

does the send IM via e-mail when in suspend work for you?
i am shown as online in the messenger, but i dont get the email with a new IM

Anyway, is there a way to remove IM to E-mail?

Tried the app today for a min, it is plain awful.

I can't even use it because I'm getting "wrong password" after registering and trying to login

no major issues on my end but it doesn't place nice with my messengers on my comp signing me out of FB and it not only wipes my WLM display pic(eBuddy also does this) but resets my theme
on the plus side it tells me when i contact is idle in WLM, something eBuddy doesn't do

and it changes your nickname for example my normal nickname qvert is too short for trillian account, if i changed it to something like qvert2 than it changes my nickname in my messenger networks to qvert2 too

It was a disappointment. I also uninstalled for the following reasons:
1) The push function to mail wasn't working on suspend mode.
2) The LED notification does not work.
3) fails to show notification for instant messages, have to open the app in order for notification to occur.
I know it's only beta but it just could not fulfill the basics of a IM chat client at the moment.

Great widget! This is something I've been looking for.
I don't know if analytics APIs allow but it would be awesome to also see yesterday's visitor numbers maybe as a smaller number on side or something.

is the whole data encrypted with google ?? im asking because there was a problem sometime ago about the authToken uncrypted data transfer for some google apps.

The security issue was discover for Calendar, Picasa and Contacts not for the Account Manager. Furthermore, all API call by the widget works over HTTPS, so I think you don't have to be worried.

The widget is refreshed each two hours automatically only if the phone is wake up. So, don't worried about your battery life.

Hi, Brilliant idea... However, I have no more space for widgets, and have a few analytic accounts. Is it possible to make this into an app, with a widget feature? So I could open the app, and then take a look at my statistics, and then close the app, when I want. If not, thats fine, I will have to live with the widget feature.

Maybe you have got some troubles with the widget since mid-july... the version of the api that we used has been shutdown :'(
Since yesterday, you can see an update of the application on Google Play. The issue is solved, we have switched to a more recent version of Google Analytics API.

update not compatible with gt 10.1. dl'd it on my Inc and loaded it onto the tab and it seems no more or less functional than the last version.

I ran into a similar problem. Do you have your Fb account locked down so you have to enter a numeric code when you login from an unrecognized device? I went in and disabled the setting in my profile online and was able to login fine after that.
Facebook > Account Settings > Account Security > Login Approvals

Latest "addition" is "reading sms". I'm not kidding. And i definately will NOT upgrade until they remove that permission.

worked it out. Droid wall was not allowing the app an internet connection. fixed and works now. thanks

So apparently its only to view, comment, and like pages. I thought if you had a page on your account, you would be able to manage it also. False advertisers.

When you are on the News Feed page you can tap on Most Recent in the top corner and select Pages from there. That must be what they were talking about with update being Page friendly. It would still be nice if I could administer my Pages with the app!

+1 on that. This solved the mystery of page viewing on fb app. You can also view your friends lists by this method. tap of 'news feed', tap on top right corner and a list will pop up on the bottom where u could select pages feed, photos feed etc.

Still it is the same

As a suggestion, how about support for Disa? It is a Hub Messenger app (SMS/Whatsapp/FB) so it will other sort of support apps for you.

Unfortunately there was a small issue with subscriptions with a wording and they removed the app from play store, I uploaded a "compliant" wording and I'm waiting to be approved, it should be available soon tho
