[Q] Strange DNLA issue - Eee Pad Transformer Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a weird problem. I've used skifta and UpnPlay for DLNA. Both of them work great at finding media. When I play the media on moboplayer or MX Video Player the video starts and everything looks great, but then after about 10 to 15 seconds I loose the sound. The Video continues to play and looks good, but no sound. If I advance the video the sound comes back for about 10 to 15 seconds and then it goes off again. Then if I keep doing that the media player seems to lock up.
Is anyone else having this issue? My source DLNA is windows media center 7. Can someone else try this an let me know if you experience the same problem?

I think this is the usual HD issue with Tegra2. I bet you would have the same problem if the files are local.
(This is the main problem I have with my GTablet w/HC. Otherwise it would be a good tablet).
For my TF, I have to encode videos as AppleTV 720p (this will choke my GTab exactly as you experienced)

Blank screen when using Windows Media Player

Hi there --
I'm trying to help my wife with a really strange Windows Media Player problem.
She has four videos on her phone (T-Mobile MDA). One video is a WMV recorded using the camera, in mp4 format. The other three are MPEGs converted to WMVs using Windows Movie Maker in WinXP.
To a first order, all the videos play fine. However, if she plays the captured video, THEN tries to play one of the converted videos, she will get a blank screen. If you go to the "task manager", and kill WMP, you can play the converted videos again, until the next time you play the captured video.
The symptom is a completely blank screen. Sound plays fine, and the cursor moves across like the video is playing, but no video.
Has anyone else seen this symptom?
Thankx!
imho them wmp is not a really good player
i would try winamp if that also do it
you can narrow it down to
a codec issue
or a video card driver issue
This does sound like a codec issue. Personally I don't recommend using WMP on your phone or on your desktop.
Instead download the free TCPMP. It supports many formats and has a wide verity of options to control playback, performance and memory usage.
http://tcpmp.corecodec.org/download
codec?
I'm definitely going to have my wife try the other media player, thanks.
A codec may be involved, but there clearly has to be something else at foot: the problem arises across individual playing sessions. All the videos play, if you start from a fresh WMP. The faulty interaction only comes up if you play a video *from the phone* first. Totally weird.
So it sounds like no one else has seen this...

TV Out best Video Playback settings

I have a Fuze-NAFT 4.6 STANDARD- phone and I have been trying to play some videos (nSTC-.avi.h263 codec encoded 640*480)using coreplayer. Video plays fine on phone but a blue flash appears every 2or3 seconds on the tv. Now all apps, youtube, CV, and Media Player works perfectly. Although I dont use media player to view videos because it cannot play .avi. Should I try converting for media player or is there a fix or reason y the blue flashes appear only when playing .avi(coreplayer)?
Don't feel bad it's not just you. I have had the same issue while using coreplayer and Tv out.
I would like to know if there is a solution out there as well.
tv out blue flashes Coreplayer
Great, now since im not the only person maybe we can get some help on the matter. I havent seen anything regarding the subject so all comments are welcome. Anyone find a way to watch their videos(movies dvd rips) using tv out without problems and what settings are u using to convert and for what player? Could solve alot of headaches!! I like coreplayer but whatever works is fine with me!
Have you tried going to video settings and changed driver from Qtv to direct draw.. This will fix it..
Yes thanks!! Its alright until cp2.0 is released.

[Q] video player problems

I'm having random problems with the stock player. It will work sometimes, but after watching a few trailers it will cause the tablet to lock up and I have to hold power to reboot.
I also have the rock player. It works sometimes, but other times it will also lock up the entire tablet.
I'm running the latest viewsonic update with the google apps and full market access.
Anyone else seeing these kinds of problems?
It is consistent on certain files? And certain h264 files in particular?
h264 high profile files don't work on the Tegra 2. They can be choppy and sometimes even freeze up the device completely.
I've haven't had any problem with h264 files, but any windows media player video files, I get audio but no video
Yeah, I'm still trying to decide if I should keep this tab or not. I want to be able to watch videos without some of them making the device lockup.
Does anyone know if this is a hardware issue with the Tegra chip or something can be solved with software or codecs?
Thanks

[Q] My Net crashing

So after completing the initial setup. I decide to check out My Net. Finds my NAS and other computers fine. I try playing video, no luck. Can't play anything. I try playing audio. The volume gets stuck on full blast. I try browsing photos. My Net crashes every time I click on a photo. Great first impression.
Installed the update and still having crashes when trying to view photos from my NAS.
The hardware is nice (lots of light bleed though), but the software has a LONG way to go.
Any one having success with My Net photo viewing?

I couldn't get video to stream either. I always get a "fail to load"
Yeah, I can see my videos under DLNA from my WD NAS, but the tablet can't actually play any of them. I assume it is because they aren't in a format that the tablet can play. Which would be... I don't know.
I don't even bother using MyNet as it won't play the videos on my NAS as their either Mkv or AVI so I use File Expert and Rockplayer instead and have no problems.
I can play audios and view photos that are on my PC (Windows 7) using the Pad, it is smooth.
But for videos - I can see them but not able to play back - also thought about format problems (I tested some .wmv files)
from my understanding, the transformer doesn't have xvid etc codecs a la the galaxy so is probably limited to formats like .3gp .mp4 for native playback. video players are available on the market that address this issue but can they be made the default player through mynet?

No you can only use the tablets own player with MyNet, as far as I am aware there is no way to select which player it uses.
I cant even get My Net to see my DNLA (UPnP) server. I have Twonky Server running on my Windows Home Server box and only once My Net was able to see it. Every time I start it, it shows nothing except Transformer itself. Any suggestions?
Thanks.
All other players on my network (Popcorn Hour, Asus O!Play, and old D-Link) see it with no issues.
Can't get this to work either

I'm running a WD "myworldbook", NAS with the videos on it. It also uses Twonky. I can see all the videos using mynet on the Transformer, but of course they won't play. Most are XVID. So it should be possible to get to the point where you can see the videos on the tab if you are using Twonky, but then you are on to the format problem anyway, so it might not do much good.

Thanks, I have no idea why mine is blind then. At this poing I would settle for music and pictures at least... No idea why it doesn't see it.
I downloaded RockPlayer (and Vital Player) and copied some videos over to the transformer but all I could really get to play well was low res avi files.
RockPlayer 720 .mkv software decoding stuttered a lot.
RockPlayer 720 .mkv hardware decoding just showed a big blob on the screen.
RockPlayer 720 .mpg software decoding lots of stuttering.
RockPlayer 720 .mpg hardware decoding wouldn't play.
VitalPlayer 720 .mkv blob on screen.
VitalPlayer 720 .mpg stuttering and sound got out of sync.
Trying to view photos from WHS still crashes My Net.
I got he UPnPlay app from the market which does DLNA well with Win7. You will also need another app to play the videos, I'm using MoboPlayer with their addition codec pack and can stream most videos nicely

Which codec pack did you download for the mobo player? All I saw was codec packs for arm 5,6, & 7 processors. I thought we had an arm 9 processor?

[Q] Plex for Android video slowdowns

Hi,
Just wondering, since the ICS update playing video's with plex (streaming them from a server) isnt posible anymore it seems like the video plays with 10 or 15 fps. Anyone else having this problem? MKV's from an usb stick doesnt work great either (with bsplayer lite) only avi's play fine.
Anyone noticing the same problems?
