I'd rather pay a little bit more and get this instead: http://www.amazon.com/ProdiCell-Pre..._1_2?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1319737883&sr=1-2

If you don't need it right away, try the Andida 1980 mAh battery from obostore.

Shipping will probably take 3 weeks or longer =p

1000 mAh battery

i bought this battery.
with free shipping!!
http://shop.eten.hu/mugen-power-1000mah-extended-battery-for-htc-touch-diamond-p3700-p-489.html
it seems i have more power available. the battery does not drain as fast as the other one.
for power users: there is a 2000 mAh battery available, with backcover
Does an extra 100mah make much difference? How much extra time are you getting out of the Mugen?
Hi, did it need a different backover ?

Guessing from the figures, that extra 100 mAh will give you 1/9 more battery life, i. e. if your Diamond had run for nine hours before, it would now run for ten. Personally, I don’t think this is much of an improvement. If you where, however, getting a 900 mAh battery anyway, the 1000 mAh one might be the better choice.
Only works on DIAM160?
it does not need a backcover.
so you still have the slim phone, but with just a little bit more power.

At $30 each I don't think so. For $24.60 your can buy FOUR 900mAh at $6.15 each at DealExtreme (shipped)!

[BATT] 1000mAh Original Physical Size (MAYBE 900mAh?)

http://www.seidioonline.com/product-p/basi10hdiam.htm
Unfortunately it's $60 including postage to the UK so I've not bought. If anyone takes the plunge please report back!
EDIT: If anyone knows of a reliable capacity tester please post.
Cheers
AFAIK this is the only real battery delivering more power in standard size, I'm also thinking of buying it, it's not cheap but there's a lot cheap solution here promising more mAh and delivering less in real
I got this one:
http://shop.eten.hu/mugen-power-100...tc-touch-diamond-p3700-p-489.html?language=en
Already using it for 3 months and it's perfect. Only €23.15 and free shipping

If you run the battery app from the HTC debug tools, does it really appear as 1000mAh there?
Thanx for pointing me to a good tool. Unfortunately HTC debug tool reports
FULL (mAH) - 900. Also notices that main battery ID field is 0.0

I don't think the software reports the correct mAh size of the battery, I tried it with my 2000mAh battery and it still reports it as 900mAh, so I don't think it can be trusted. And don't say that my battery has a fake label too, it lasts me 4-6 days...

hmm interesting, we need to find a reliable battery tester
I wonder if anyone got anything else other than 900 mAh when testing any Diamond battery, maybe someone with a 1340mAh battery might want to give it a try? I have four batteries, I will give them all a try, 1 is the original 900mAh, 2 is a 1000mAh, 3 is a 1800mAh and 4 is a 2000mAh battery. I'll try them all, see if any of them displays a different result.
Edit: tested all 4 batteries, with the same result: 900mAh!!! Which is simply impossible.

Hmmm that's interesting... do you have by any chance a multimeter to measure the current of the battery in the old school way?
Any news on this? Mine is performing horribly. Thanks for all the studying!

A word of caution here, you can not measure the capacity of the battery by plugging it directly to the multimeter, that would cause a short circuit and probably damage it. You need to have some device in between the circuit that puts a constant load on it over time. Is not trivial I'm afraid... anyway a simple search in Google (ie. "how to measure mAh") should provide more detailed instructions.

i can't say in long therm cuz i don't have battery for half year just 2 months and sure it does last longer =)

The one review seems to be quite thorough. Seems to work fairly well. Not really sure if its worth $30 though. I got 2 1600 mah batteries and a battery charger for $9. So for a third of the price I can swap batteries and get 3X the battery life. Only downside is having to carry the other batteries around.

Can you report back to us about the battery. How long it lasts....
i ordered the 1800 mah battery from amazon and got it in the mail yesterday, and I'm actually pretty disappointed. It almost seems to have the same life as the stock battery. Drains fairly quick. I'm thinking about preordering the 4500 mah one.
So I see no reads the forum before making a thread that already been made.... Come on ppl can't you read utilize the search button before posting?

Not all extended batteries are a "rip off", and besides, how could we know without testing them? I think it's fine that someone made a thread to report on a specific battery that they purchased so that the rest of us can have some information on it. Thanks OP.
There's two threads about the same scammy battery there's no need for two

I beg to differ. For many many years I was against aftermarket anything unless it was a case. I was given an extended battery for my g2 and it fried my phone. Almost killed my replacement. Never again will I get am products.

Will do. I'll see how it performs over a few days of my typical usage -- a few phone calls, lots of texting, internet and more internet, a few rounds of Wheel of Fortune, more internet lol.
Best case scenario would be a few hours more battery life. After all, the advertised capacity is only 20% more than the OEM battery.

A battery can't be judged by a single usage cycle. You have have to cycle it a couple of times for it to get in the groove of charging and discharging properly But with that said, you won't really see all that much of a difference from 1500 mAh to 1800 mAh. You might squeeze in an extra hour or two through a days use, but not much more then that sadly

Tested with a computer voltage logger over multiple discharge cycles.
No, the OPs battery was not tested, but since NOT ONE after market battery has EVER lived up to its marking, its clearly delusional to think this battery may just be the one thats legitimate.
It's a profitable game for them and buyers are naive and want to believe in the magic.
A rip-off is selling a product fraudulently, regardless if it still has value.
Specifically, a battery that tests to be less that 5% of its stamped rating is a fraud.

Informative chart. Thanks for the link. I've used aftermarket batteries for other phones and have had anywhere from decent performance to one that wouldn't even last 5 hours lol. Not expecting stellar results from this one either, but I got it for only $15 so if it gives even a decent day's usage then it will be worth the $15.
I've used it for about 2 days so far and its been holding up okay. Waiting to see if its gets any better after a few discharge/charge cycles before I really make up my mind about it.

1600mAh battery from Ebay

i bought there cheap batteries from Ebay (12$ for two)
i am surprised to find that they did last longer than the stock battery.
what a good deal
i am using LeeDroid GB3.30 rom,
using the "Battery Monitoring Widget"'s estimate
the battery will last seven days if left on idle status.

So you're saying that in testing through actual usage you've seen better results?
All conditions being the same, you've determined that the new battery gives you a longer amount of time between charges than the stock battery does?

yes, it last longer than the stock battery.
I bought three of these batteries, because they were like $1 each from China, and all of them are no different than the stock. Grab a tool and check the actual capacity and you will see that they are exactly the same spec as the OEM battery.
By the way, this is very old news. Did you search before posting? I didn't think so.

JK or not, he never did say it was an "internal" battery.
I bought one of these, isn't really 1600 but works good as a spare once my original dies completely.
I was thinking about buying a 1500 mah battery from ebay then I read a thread stating that the Inspire 4g stock battery lasted longer. The "Mah" rating is not industry regulated so basicly a manufacture can put 1600 mah on a battery thats 1100 mah without getting reprimanded or fined. So be carefull where you buy these batterys from and make sure the Co. is reputable first.

The technology itself is the cap. For this size this is the most juice you are going to get, unless they figure out a way to pack more energy cells into the same amount of space. Which they haven't. Don't be fooled. The battery that came with phone is the best available for this phone.

All that did is calibrate the battery. It's not going to hold any more juice than the space allows. It's physics. Until a new technology comes out...
