Bigger battery, bigger back side. HTC Desire

Ok hello there!
Got a short Q.
Is there any bigger battery's for HTC desire? i can change the plastic backside so it gets thicker if needed..
Were ever i look i only find Seidio 1600mAh.. but wonder if there is even bigger.

I asked mugen power batteries about this about a week ago. they will release a "standard" 1600mAh during may.
The extended battery was under processing. not surrme what that means

hm. 200 more doesnt sound alot really.

I meen.. for if the phone is 2-3mm or even 5mm thicker does not matter for me.
and if soo maybe there is a 2000 or even 3000mAh avalible soon.

Mugen Power already has available a standard size 1600mAH battery for Nexus One and HTC Desire share the same battery. (same HTC model number)

Well im often out in the nature.. fishing. and often gone for 5-6 days at the time.
Soo i dont want to carry 4 extra battey's..
There for im looking for a bigger battery IF there is any..I dont mind a thicker phone those times im away fishing/hiking.

Mugen Power's 1300 mAH lasts longer that standard 1230 mAH (4-6 standby hours better) on my HD2. Hopefully the 1600 mAH for Desire lasts at least 10 hours more than original 1400mAH if has the same quality.
I don't know if Sedio it's a High or low quality bettery manufacter

One user tested:
After running first the 2400 mAh for a couple of days, and getting more and more suspicious about the claimed mAh, then the 2700 mAh one and getting even more dissatisfied with that one, I decided to run a simple test to confirm my suspicions. I decided to put brightness at max, bluetooth on, leave sync on, GPS on and start up the video streaming app Qik. I ran it with live GPS tracking and left it on my living room table until it ran out of juice. First up was the standard 1350 mAh battery, it managed 110 minutes. Then the claimed 2700 mAh one, it survived 118 minutes, and at last the claimed 2400 mAh one, that managed 115 minutes. And this confirms my suspicions almost exactly, although I must admit I felt the 2400 mAh one was a bit weaker than the stock one, and the 2700 one a tiny bit better. But anyway, its so close to my experienced feelings after running them for several days at work, with very equal usage each day, that made all of them last almost the hole 8-9 hours on one charge, that I will not bother to run any more tests. Its good enough for me. So that means my claimed 2400 mAh battery is only around 1400 mAh, and my 2700 one is also only around 1400 as well. And this is batteries that are around twice as thick!

I'll test and report here... the HD2 version it's a good battery (no miracle, but noticeably better than original)

This external portable charger sounds promising. It has a claimed output rate of 700mA what is just as good as the original socket charger.

The other with AA batteries is questionable as I suspect it has not more then 200-300mA output juice which will take your desire 8+ hours to recharge fully if not touched. What is way to much if you ask me!

Anyone ever use a 1700mha battery in your wp7?

I'm considering shelling out the 50 bucks for a 1700mha battery from Mugen.
I'm using an LG Quantum with the stock 1500. Anyone ever use one? Does it extend the life that much to be worth it?
...I also saw their monster 3400. The life would be great, but no thanks on the bulk-factor.

quick math tells me that the energy storage capacity for the 1700 is roughly 10% increase. Remember:
mAh = milli amp-hours. The number of hours the battery can sustain a one milli amp drain and is equivalent to the battery's capacity.
I do not believe it's worth the upgrade at that price. Also keep in mind that it will take longer to charge a higher capacity battery.

Interesting, I did not know that.
Many thanks for the advice. With that logic, no it's probably not a very good idea.

yeah... 10% increase is not worthed.. unless you go from 1300 to 1800 as in my mozart.. big increase

Also keep in mind these non OEM batteries may say 1800+ mAH, but the overall battery quality can be awful. I've heard some horror stories of leaking batteries, and the overall total capacity going down after only about a month or 2 of use.

HTC Arrive user here and I was using a 1800mah battery (coming from a 1500mah) and I say its worth it...straight up destroys the 1500mah. The only thing thats "meh" is that although it does seem to fully charge the battery, it just doesnt report it right. So at first it'll seem like the battery life is the same, but thats because you need to reboot the phone to get the right reading. For example, if you're at 100% and take it off the charger and do some nonsense, the reading will be the same as if you had the stock battery. But if you took it off the charger and immediately rebooted...you'd be on 100% for a long time (for me, with constantly listening to music after taking it off the charger and rebooting...I'd be on 100% for about 25-30 minutes).

Which battery maker are you using and does that 1800 fit the same profile as the 1500 one?

...I bought a Mugen 1800mAh battery for my Mozart and I am very happy with it.
I am now at ~ 60 hours per charge against 36 hours with the original battery...

I also got the 1800mah Mugen battery for my Verizon HTC Trophy. It does last longer than the OEM, in real world, maybe a 1/2 hour to an hour of talk time (standby longer )

Well I just bought one of the first one's. Kind of skeptical that it is rate almost 50% higher and looks to be the same size as stock. Also hope this fits... oh well. Says 5 - 10 business days so I will report back later.

Ask the seller if he could weigh it for you

Seller said 29g, while chichitec and anker is 34, stock battery is 29 aswell heavier means better batterytime

I thought someone bought these gold ones and said they were crap.

BUt this isn't the gold one although i bet it's made at the same factory, oh the gold battery weigh in at 27 Lol i had a gold battery but got a full refund, so i opened it up, and there was a small battery inside, with a spacer built around it!

Really?! Oh lame...it's shipped.
I guess the only way to find out is to test it and form my own verdict.

generally speaking the weight of the battery relates to the amount of li-ion in the battery (this can only be a generalization due to the casing of the battery and the like) but simply put the higher the weight the larger amount of li-ion in the battery which increases the Amp Hours; Ah
edit: so continuing on a 2300mAh battery should be heavier than a 1500mAh battery as it would have more li-ion in it

so anyone got one this already and tested it out

I have BXT'S extended model BP6X and am using it with my Motorola XT720. The BXT battery weighs in at 24g (it is rated at 2200 mAh) and the OEM BP6X weighs in at 28.7g (which is rated at 1390 mAh) I have used the battery for about a day (with the charge that it had shipped with) and it didn't last very long. I was also running a 1.2ghz overclock at the time so that could have contributed to it too. I believe however that I need to charge it for about 10 hours or so the first charge, just to make sure it has its full capacity. (which I have not done yet) I can give a full overview in a day or so if you guys would like.

Yes, that is probably true. I have also heard reports of android's battery meter not correctly read the % of battery power on these BXT extended batteries but it may vary from phone to phone so people will have to test it out on their devices. What the report said was that the battery would quickly drop to 25% and then it would take HOURS to drop to 0% but low battery messages would pop up frequently during that time because the phone believed the battery was that low, even though the actual battery % was not that low because it was just incorrectly reading it. I could not tell yet from a few hours of use whether or not I experienced this problem with my BXT BP6X.

Don't buy bxt 2300 mah
I ordered this BXT 2300mAh battery on July 21st 2011.
1st of all it came after 15 long days of waiting.
and when it finally arrived the battery was non functional. DOA
(that might be a one time thing)
But what's really surprising is the weight. As someone mentioned before; if the battery is more powerful it should be heavier. So, a 2300mAh should have more li-ion and should be quite a bit heavier then 1520mAh Stock. right?

Guys, sorry to resurrect this thread but I've just got one of these with the Sensation I've just bought.
It weighs 34g exactly the same as the Anker I've got. Bot tried the Anker yet so can't compare how they both perform.

I have 5 batteries.
Motorola BK60 930mAh Weight - 20g.
Motorola BC50 750mAh Weight - 16g.
Sony Ericsson BST-33 950mAh Weight - 20g.
Samsung sgh x160 800mAh Weight - 17g.
HTC Desire HD 1230mAh Weight - 26g.
930/20=46,5
750/16=46,8
950/20=47,5

I own a Galaxy Nexus VZW version and it comes with the stock
battery which is 1850 Mah. I currently use it and the battery life is...well moderate. I've been using the battery with my phone for about a couple months and I was wondering if the extended battery from Samsung is worth getting. If I could get some information from people who already use the battery I would love to hear any negative/positive comments about it. If the battery is really worth getting, where would you get it the cheapest?

The difference is only 150mAh? I have the GNex and get around 6 or so hours from, which is unacceptable for me. I was looking at some of the larger batteries (from third parties), and a few of them seem promising. The Hyperion 3800mAh battery is most likely the one I will order

Ok, well I have seen those MASSIVE extended batteries and I'm not really interested because they look like a giant freaking hump on the back of it. Well , thanks so much for answering my question, but 6 hours more? Or, six hours total? Thanks man.

Well, I get 6 hours in total on the 1850mAh stock battery, on average.
(Going to pretend I know some math here)
If we take 1850mAh and divide them by my average time (360 minutes), we get 5.1mAh used per minute. Multiply that by the difference in mAh between the batteries (150) we get another 77 minutes, aproximately. (If my math is correct, which it may very well not be.)

Im going to put a larger capacity battery in my Desire Z and I wanted some recommendations. Also, normal sizes (as in demensions); None that come with a additional cover to compensate for the normal size this making the phone bigger.

Ankers 1600mAh, lasts for me more than 2 days between charges. Got mine for a fiver off eBay, brand new.

riahc3, if you ask for advice, don't argue about there being higher capacity batteries, if you want the mugen go get it, but if you asked advice in the first place then don't get annoyed when people don't give you the answer you want to hear. Sorry, that's just the way I see it.
If you're after numbers rather than advice, take both. Look at my screenies, yeah I know I'm a light user, under clocked and had a sneaky charge in between but this was on CM10.1 build 15 which supposedly has battery problems, and as you can see I listened to music for a couple of hours as well. Also everyone else here has gotten at least 2 days between charge with Ankers.

I've been using the Mugen battery for over two years now. Still get good battery life, although playing games drains it pretty fast. I can last two full days if I try, but it's pushing it. One day is easy.

2 day is sufficient

I don't know about battery life of iPhone 5, S3, Note2, etc but I think that under normal circumstances battery life of our phones should be 2 days.
Do you use home-screen widget or lock screen widget? Does they have any effect on battery life?

aftermarket battery? you're better off getting a oem, a lot of aftermarkets don't live up to the levels they advertise.
I recommend the evo 4g design battery, it fits perfect in our devices at a whopping 1520 mah compared to stock's 1300mah

I had the Seidio one which was good and lasted for more than 1.5 years. Now I have the Mugen one and feel like it's gettimng worse after only 8 months.
