[Help] Porting FriendStream + widget - Android Software/Hacking General [Developers Only]

Hi guys,
I'm looking for some help. I'm trying to port Friend stream widget from Legend to Hero so far with moderate success. So I'm asking for help to those who have done this before or are good at smali editing.
I managed to debug all missing resources, so I can install it and widget works fine, but there is a glitch - fonts are black in widget. I discovered the reason for that. It turns out that framework have two type of layouts - one for app (com.htc.resources.hero\res\layout\htc_list_item_social_network.xml) and one for widget (com.htc.resources.hero\res\layout\htc_list_item_friendstream_widget.xml).
For some unknown reason to me framework always uses app layout. I guess it can not identify widget layout since it is not declared and is unknown to system, but it's just a guess.
Any help would be appreciated.

[Q] Help needed - strange framework modding problem

Sorry if this has been posted before, but I couldn't find anything regarding this sort..
So to the question. I have been modifying my framework (and apps) (CM 2.2.1) to get a Gingerbread-like look. Everything else works well but when I pull notifications open, there is a strange shadowy gradient on top of the notifications - and I can't find out why! The graphics seem to be all right, but when I use a framework from another ROM/theme that is GB-themed, there's no such thing. Is there something in the xml files that could cause this?

[REQUEST] Photowidget etc (Xperia S dump)

Hey there folks. Quick question - does anyone know how to properly install the new photowidget? It can be found on vmcms's rom [http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1307572] as can all of the new widgets but I prefer the dropdown status bar of Thjap/Feravolt. However when I backed up the widget on titanium from vmcms, it won't reinstall on either of the other two. Now I know that sony often links the widgets to the home.apk but that wouldn't restore itself either. I also accidentally uninstalled the music.apk and it won't restore but that's my fault
I know that it probably needs some frameworks but I wouldn't have the foggiest idea what to do. Does anyone have a flashable zip for the new widgets?
Thanks in advance,
freshprints.
New things from Xperia S system dump (Music, PhotoWidget, Settings, Keyboard, Contacts) will be like addon for my new project - DiXperia5. New info soon (week, maybe a little more, ending ROM and then test with my team), cheers.
very good sir! but i'm guessing that means there's no way to use it on different roms. the sigh.

Help for theming ;)

Hi everyone! I need some help to make some theming on my Taoshan and if it's done i will share it to you
So, like in the pictures i'd like to change these buttons and backgrounds. I decompile these png's and I know where to put it but don't know where and how to change the colors and size. I search the threads over and over again, but no luck. (Like: [TUT][JB] How to theme SystemUI.apk for totally newbie, and [Guide] Want to learn how to theme?, and some others) The really big problem is that I canT find those values that I have to edit, even I decompile the SystemUI.apk fine (I have all the folders and xml's).
What I really wanna do is that achieve a stock android ui with those fine simple icons (the buttons sequence dosn't matter, but it will be great, and if I be able to add some more... :fingers-crossed, 'cause I really like it (with holo blue or grey), like in the Slim rom that I used on my Xperia Neo.
So anyone can help me pls respond
I know something about photoshop and designing so maybe it will be a greater project

"Most" of the default skin you can find in <Fusion.apk>
the rest is "global", scatered between native android`s, HTC frameworks,
and additional resources ,...
..in sense4.1, apps-very often have their own resources...
others, partly rely on frameworks , and the rest could be found
within themselves,...
When the rom needs to have a really custom look,
you`d need to touch practically most of its graphical aspects,
as the sense interface, goes deeper wider and more complex,
from version to version....
...when we speak of modding <rosie>, there are so many tutorials to be found here,
that there is absolutely no need to write one more,
all you need to do is search...
There are also many great tools to be found on XDA,
that make live of a themer/moder much easier, like:
- VirtuousTenStudio
- IconSetBuilder
- UniversalThemePorter
- ApkChanger
- ApkTool
Etc....
There is probably no one to be found here,
able to provide you with instruction on modding default HtcSkin to your liking,
as no one realy knows what you`re planning to do with it,
or what changes that skin is supposed to carry after,
but if you like to read, there is a lot of useful info,
answering most- if not all questions of an open mind....

Editing launchers - various questions.

Greetings! Just joined! Let me start first by saying, thank you for xda and thank you all who contribute and make it the best place to find new cool things for our android phones! This site is one of the most important ones for android stuff. Amazing.
First, the background story:
Im a Sony lover ever since i bought my first Sony Ericsson t610 as a kid (still one of the best phones ever created ) and kept with the brand ever since.
Currently i own Sony Xperia e4g (E2003) on KitKat 4.4.4. Thats all the tech stuff i know about it. xD
I unlocked bootloader, have TWRP as recovery and is rooted managing with SuperSU.
I extremely love the UI of it but no infinite scroll is really bugging me. I found a temporary solution by finding this amazingness:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2103403
The original question simplified:
Can i somehow edit my phones launcher and somehow combine with the one i just linked to?
Of course i want to make it so i can install it on a different phone as well, if and when i buy a different Xperia phone.
The issue i have are that i really dont like some UI elements, I just want the functionality. Im a minimalistic/simplistic kind of guy so Xperia has the perfect UI for me. And no, no launcher gave me any substitute so far, i tried most of them.
I want to try and build my own launcher combining the best of both and maybe as i learn and progress, add even more cool stuff.
But for now, im kinda looking to port my phones launcher and add functionality from another.
Can someone help me achieve this or point me in the right direction?
Detailed changes im looking for:
First, i want to port the launcher so it works on other phones.
Add infinite scroll.
Keep all the design elements (i guess png files, maybe im calling it wrong) and only fill in elements from the linked launcher to functions that my launcher doesnt have by default. Ill design the rest of the elements to fit my phones launcher theme.
I want to remove the Z launchers app drawer top items and switch it for the stock one. Much less intrusive.
So, in essence, keep the look from E and add the functionality like, self close or open last functions from Z.
You can check the difference here for the app drawers:

The E has a much cleaner look. I want it by default, i would add settings to choose the style from either E or Z.
Id keep the E look and just add the functionality buttons that Z gives. Id redesign most of those icons to fit the theme tho.
Desktop settings, Home and NavBar buttons.

Id also like to edit the navbar buttons themselves and change them to now new triangle, circle and cube. But id also like to switch recent apps and back buttons but i dont think thats possible from within a launcher. So ill figure that out later.
And for last, i would switch the bar on the bar icons with the one from Xperia T launcher but i cant find a download for it and dont own a T version phone.
Please help and thank you for your time reading this wall. xD
