"Most" of the default skin you can find in <Fusion.apk>
the rest is "global", scatered between native android`s, HTC frameworks,
and additional resources ,...
..in sense4.1, apps-very often have their own resources...
others, partly rely on frameworks , and the rest could be found
within themselves,...
When the rom needs to have a really custom look,
you`d need to touch practically most of its graphical aspects,
as the sense interface, goes deeper wider and more complex,
from version to version....
...when we speak of modding <rosie>, there are so many tutorials to be found here,
that there is absolutely no need to write one more,
all you need to do is search...
There are also many great tools to be found on XDA,
that make live of a themer/moder much easier, like:
- VirtuousTenStudio
- IconSetBuilder
- UniversalThemePorter
- ApkChanger
- ApkTool
Etc....
There is probably no one to be found here,
able to provide you with instruction on modding default HtcSkin to your liking,
as no one realy knows what you`re planning to do with it,
or what changes that skin is supposed to carry after,
but if you like to read, there is a lot of useful info,
answering most- if not all questions of an open mind....
Success:good:

[Q] HTC Sense possibilities.

I'm pretty new to the whole rooting scene. I currently have ClearDroid ROM. I definitely like it. Fast and all.
But. I've also used a few 2.3.3 Gingerbread + Sense ROM's and I also like the whole quick settings in the notification area and all the neat other stuff that 2.2 didn't offer.
My big $1,000,000 question is... Is it possible to keep ClearD's ROM but still import the 2.3.3 functions in such as the quick settings and lock screen and stuff like that. Or if there is something like that already available. Please let me know.
Thanks,
Cyanide
If that rom is sense based your best bet is to wait or contact the developer to see if he can make the 2.3.3 GB jump.
If it is not sense based or it is AOSP then those features cannot be added since they rely on the sense framework
Not quite sure if I was clear on my OP.
I was wanting to keep some 2.2 features, but add a few 2.3 features like the 2.3 lockscreen, quick settings and a few other things.
But I'll keep looking around.
I'm not familiar with doing changes in the system like that so i cannot tell if it requires the whole system or just some files replacements that will not create any conflicts.
If your looking for the lockscreen search in this forums there are few alternatives and maybe easy to do for example this one:

[REQ] HTC_IME mod for AOSP on qHD devices

I would love to offer any help I can to make this mod a reality. So far, I have gathered the following links that will surely be helpful in making this mod.
There are many users on the different individual rom threads, especially in senseless and aosp/cm9 roms, who are requesting to install HTC_IME (Touch Input), as it is the best input option around for some languages. I can attest firsthand to the fact that the Chinese handwriting input is by far the best handwriting input available for android (HTC is a Taiwanese company), so please don't suggest that everyone who wants htc_ime just go and download some other keyboard. They really did a good job with it, and people want to use it on AOSP!
The work done so far:
Jonas made the mod for gingerbread and devices with lower resolution screens. There is a lot of information about it here and links to downloads. It works on non-htc android devices.
http://www.linux-wizard.net/2011/02...c-ime-keyboard-under-a-non-htc-android-phone/
Original HTC_IME mod thread by jonas. The last page or so of the thread is full of posts of people saying please make this mod for ICS/qhd. So far, no one has done it...

This is a HTC_CIME mod for qvga screens. You can see in the screens that it works on MIUI and with multi-language support. This seems like a very good lead, as it may possibly work on our device if scaled up!

A way to get touch input back into virtuous inqusition rom:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1462460&highlight=with+libs
And finally, from our very own device theme forum, there is of course the package done by MichaelM. I think this is going to be our best shot at getting this working in aosp roms. I triead flashing the file "with libs" (should include multi-lang) on Vorbeth's rom, but it just continuously FCs with u select touch input (but touch input does show up!).

As I said, I am willing to learn as much as I need to to help make this mod, I just need someone with a bit more experience than me to offer some help! Can someone please give even a brief overview of how to do this. Do we need to run logcats to find out lib dependencies? I'm sure the whole process can't be all that difficult (well, one can hope!).
Thank you in advance, sensation community!
p.s. if I forgot to give credit to anyone else who has done work on htc_ime mod please forgive me. Post the info in this thread if you find it so we can get this going!
2 things, 1, I would love to see this mod happen, I've gotten used to the ics keyboard but would still love the HTC one. 2, if possible, the latest HTC_IME keyboard would be best in my opinion because I love the swipe gestures that you can turn on and off without actually using the Swype keyboard because the Swype keyboard isn't something I am entirely fond of anymore

latest is usually best! sounds good to me.
I would love to see that... I am starting to like CM9, but the keyboard just isn't good enough no matter which one I try... I will try gimpsta.com to create one and hopefully will have it working
good luck to you, sir!
BUMP! I really wanna see this happen too! But maybe we are looking at it from the wrong angle? I'm no dev, not in the slightest, but the HTC_IME that comes on the stock sensation is already qHD formatted. Would it be possible/easier to port jonasl's mods to the newer HTC_IME rather than trying to scale up the old one and fix it to run on ICS?

a MOD for HTC IME on QHD resolution is out.
Now all we need to do is to put CIME back to it.

[Q] Beginner to customizing tablets

I'm coming straight from an iPhone user that loves to customize on my phone everything including keyboard layouts, icons, themes, and anything that's UI related that I can just download and install with simple instructions.
Can anyone tell/teach me how I can do the same with my Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 that is currently using CM10 Nightlies. I know there's themes from various launchers but all of the themes offered don't suit my needs for building a minimalistic UI, much like the ones users submit on Screenlicious.com. There's also ROMs and Kernels but all of this is relatively new terms to me and I would like to learn it all and if possible, become a theme maker myself if it's not out of my reach. Comprehensive tutorial links would help. Thank you and sorry for being a big newbie.

Well if you are from iPhone then I suggest learning the Android related things
custom kernel=> better performance, battery, overclocking CPU
custom rom=> customized stock rom I.e deleted crappy apps, themed stock rom and added tweaks
if you are planning on making themes then you should know that CM has an inbuilt theme changer app. To change themes you have to install a theme apk and then change the ttheme from theme manager app. To make themes apk u have to change mainly framework.apk and SystemUi.apk
Or else you can make a flashable zip and pack your themed apps inside that zip

[Q] How to create a theme for galaxy fit??

I have knowledge about programming, creating android games and live wallpapers but have little knowledge about programming of rooted devices and related. I know creed's rom is very good and I use it almost daily, I want to make a theme for my phone, as I would be making some cool graphics. If it turns out to be succesful I would also share with you. Can you tell me how to make one? I looked and found three themes for creed's rom. Also I don't know what ddk??'s mean. I heard that you just have to change some images in some specific files like framework, theme.zip etc. with custom images, that would be easy? Would you help me?

[Theme] Unofficial LG Theming Template/Guide for UX9

With some help from Mark Bencze (for helping with a lot of theming stuff) and Aditya (for testing), I've created a LG Theming Template (and small guide) for UX9. Making LG themes is pretty difficult but I'm hoping that this can help anyone curious about trying it out. With this template, it can be imported into Android Studio and makes creating themes much easier than alternative methods. You can do a lot with theming and even with my limited experience with it, I’ve been surprised on what’s possible with it.
See the link for the project here:
https://github.com/audietron171/Unofficial-LG-Theming-Template-UX9-
It is important to note that the theme generated by this project is blank (in that it doesn’t apply any changes). You will need to add these yourself and this is probably the most difficult part of theming. To find resources, you will need to decompile apps (such as SystemUI and Home) to find the resources you want to modify. It can be very time consuming but helps if there is something in particular that you want to change. If you need something to start with, I recommend using LG’s default themes (White theme and accent APK’s). DON’T USE THIRD PARTY THEMES!!
I've tried to make it relatively comprehensive but I am happy to help anyone that has trouble with it. If anyone has any suggestions or improvements, let me know. There is always room for improvement
Thanks for sharing
Hi. I have zero knowledge about this actually, but i'm willing to give it a try. Right now i'm stuck on "Adding resources to overlays" step. Wich path am i supposed to add the "res" folder? Thanks in advance
Add the "res" folder in the specific overlay folder (or app) that you are modifying. So for Calender, the folder will be "app/individual/calender/src/main/res".
