I just find that you still have to type pretty precisely for the prediction or auto correct to really take effect.
I do really like that you can use your own background though.
I am going to stick with this for a bit, I find sometimes these keyboards get better the longer you use them.

auto capitalization doesn't seem to be working. just thought I'd let you know..

The custom background is a nice feature, as is the transparency setting...really opens up the theming possibilities.

The haptic feedback on long delete gets kind of obnoxious. It would be nice if that switched to one vibe per word on long press delete.

Good point. Do you think it should also delete an entire word at a time on long-press delete?

A good idea...a width setting to go with the height setting would be nice also for those of us with narrow screens. Very cool though. Any plans on a "swype-ish" interface?

A Swype interface is a whole other ball game. No current plans but I will consider it in future versions if enough users demand it.
Others have asked for a width setting but how would that work? The keyboard is already the full width of the screen. How would you make it wider?

The auto-caps behavior in Opera and UC is by design. A keyboard is only supposed to use auto-caps if the app requests it, and Opera and UC do not request it for any fields. SwiftKey X behaves the same way, but Swype other keyboards seem to ignore the request and auto-cap everything. Personally I think the keyboard should respect the app's request but I am open to other arguments!
I could not reproduce your second bug report in UC browser. I saw predictions when I typed in a text field on m.facebook.com and m.google.com. When sites did you try?

This site, though it was on UC 8 beta. Might be why

Very promising keyboard!
Haptic feedback on long press delete is, as previously stated, a trauma tho! Reckon the entire word delete on long press would be a good idea - also an "Extra Short" setting for the haptic would be cool since I'm on a Desire and the haptic is extreme!!!

Yes that was it. Amazingly, UC8 sets the "no suggestions" flag for ALL text fields. I don't see suggestions in UC8 with any keyboard I tried. This is a bug report for UC8!
As for auto-caps, UC8 doesn't request it either, but SwiftKey X seems to always use auto-caps in multi-line text fields, which makes a lot of sense to me. Look for this in the next version of TypeSmart!
Scoobysnacks you have been very helpful and I really appreciate it. Let me know if I can ever do anything for you.

No problem my friend, just want to give me as much objective feedback as I can.
I think this keyboard is headed for greatness!

I'm liking this so far! I was using Touchpal but it's been kinda wonky since they updated to 5.1 so this is my new default. Good job man!

I will demand it in advance! Hahaha...but seriously, on the width settings, either the ability to manipulate the gaps between the keys or even just being able to widen the font might help me type with more confidence.

UPDATE2: Version updated. You should got OTA upgrade. If not, you can install the apk attached.
UPDATE: Added all current language packages to attachment to those who want to update their translation. Thanks in advance!
Thanks for all the comments and bug report. We just made a release candidate package(v110). This will go into market sometime next week after further testing.
Support manage/tel/other similar links
User able to set download directory
Add option to always keep system notification bar
Add option to support on-demand Flash
Add French/German/Spanish/Dutch/Hungarian/Polish language package
Fix bug: Flash will keep playing sound when exit the page
Fix bug: Chinese image in non-Chinese language mode
A bunch of stable/performance issues.
Some explanation here:
We make two kind of package, release candidate package (less stable but you got feature early) and stable package for market release.
Version translated by jpsiemer is actually our release candidate package (v97 & v102). Those users may receive an auto-update notice. if auto-update process is not successful. Please UNINSTALL OLD VERSION and install the apk in the attachment.
For user installed our offical English version(v107), you have two choice here
- UNINSTALL that version and install this one. You will then be on our release candidate package track and receive update that might be a little unstable but with the latest feature. Your bug report and comments will great help us make a better stable version
- DO NOTHING. Wait stable version update.
Again, we want to thank awesome xda memebers who contribute to our language package
Spanish: fridlack
Dutch: Kees Kluskens
French: RESCOFFI4
German x3202
Hungarian sempi601
Polish pl_laszlo
@myslee_ovi, we just use the first German language package provided by x3202 in this apk. We will take another round of look at your version and the version x3202 promised to send later. It will be great if there are a version you guys agreed to be the best.
Again, send us all the feedback and bug report. We don't know all the languages added in this package. If something doesn't look right. Let us know!!!
It is great working with you guys. It is real global collaboration!!!
Looks great, dutch version is working, will report possible bugs later on after testing. Thank you for the apk.

wxrjack, nice work!
this browser is the real deal... simple, fast, intuitive. awesome!
issues with lastest release:
-i also have the bookmark problem. bookmark shortcuts created on homescreen will launch miren, but go to a new blank tab and hang w/out loading. my preferable action would be that of the android stock browser, launch blank page and begin loading, or switch to tab if it has already previously been opened. (the previous version of miren also keeps launching new pages if the bookmark shortcut is pressed multiple times.)
-minor issue: upon exiting miren, it sometimes "selects" the first icon on the default launcher home screen as indicated by a orange outline around the icon. (as if i were to use the directional pad on my hardware keyboard to select items without using the touchscreen) this doesn't seem to impact any functionality, just a strange nuance.
once again, nice work. the bookmark bug gets fixed and miren is my new default browser (and i bet that you'll get >250,000 downloads)
congratulations!
French translation has to be improved: some mistakes and match case (few capital letters are missing), and some sections are still in english
Be able to choose download folder is a great amelioration
Thank you for this great browser. Unfortunately the latest version force closes when I select the option to change the download location.
One feature request would be to add the option to view pages in inverse, i.e. White text on black. Handy for us amoled users looking to save battery.

(Sorry x3202)
Many real nice improvements in this release...
When launching the browser from a link, the page doesn't load, just the address, stays blank, then needs to be launched manually...
Other than that, I've got the impression that it's a bit slower than the previous version.

I made the Dutch version, so I think I am the only one who can help you (unless it's a bug from the browser itself). I shall look at it, but I thought I translated that one.
Edit: I have tested my translated version now for the first time. The problem is that the Dutch language has much longer words, and so the text doesn't fit on 1 line . I make an updated version of the translation tomorrow.
wxrjack, I think I have found some strings that I can't translate. I've looked in the strings.xml, but I can't find these strings:
'Exit confirmation' and 'Confirm before exit'
The options under Advanced -> Full Screen Settings -> Hide menu
The options under Show Flash
'Folder for downloaded files' and 'Choose the folder for downloaded files'
I can't translate the images 'Basic' and 'Advanced'. In Dutch 'Basic' means 'Algemeen' and 'Advanced' means 'Geavanceerd'.
'Cancel' under the Floating Buttons menu can't be translated
'Yesterday' under the bookmarks
'Do not ask me again' if you exit the app.
Can you look at it? I can't translate them and don't know where all these strings are put in.

Haha. Do you have the problem too that the word 'Geschiedenis' doesn't fit on the home page? I think I will change the word to 'Gesch.', or do you have other suggestions?
If you found some bad translations, please tell .
My main gripe is that when leaving and returning to the app, while the tabs are still available a refresh is needed to display the contents of the webpage. It returns to a white page.
Is your SD card mounted that time?

I just have to say that I love this browser! I've been using it since the first time I saw a translated unofficial release, and it only keeps getting better. I can't believe how much progress has went into adding features and doing translations in just the last few weeks, compared to other browsers I've used which have had issues for months on end without update. Keep up the great work!
as i said in the other thread, i didn't build a version with my strings so i didn't see that some translation were too long...
i made a new string and i think i got the best of myslee_ovis and my version
if there's still sth wrong, please report
btw there is a misspelling in

I just want to say this is an awesome browser. Definitely more responsive then Dolphin. The only problem I currently have with it is the text wrapping. Once I double tap, it text wrap fine. But when you then pinch to zoom, the text does not move to fit the screen. Is there an option to do that?
Anyways thanks for this awesome browser!

The word "geschiedenis" fits fine. It's just the things you didn't translate which feels not right. No idea how to solve that, I rather see the english word than a wrong translation. If geschiedenis doesn't fit, try "historie" but for me personally I would say don't change it...

This works really well and I love the interface. My only gripe so far is that it's not obvious when the background is transparent. It would be great if it was checkerboard instead of white (like in the layer view).
Also, I'd like to see support for images of different sizes and zooming too if possible! I know this is likely to add to the complexity of the app, but really think these are features you need.
It is the best painting app for android so far imo. But I think it needs a landscape image size, a better paint fill, and an option to have the cursor slightly above your finger so that your finger isn't covering it. But the number one thing it needs is the fill. Filling an object makes little white outline of the color.
Btw I'm using HTC g2 and it doesn't lag or anything, runs very well.

Awesome, thanks for the feedback! Yes, landscape is a top priority feature. I'll be adding offset drawing too. You're right, the fill bucket does need some work.

I just spent the last half hour playing with this on my EVO. Definitely something that the Android world is lacking!
As I use this app more and more in the hour, I realize how much I love it and I can give a bit more critisism. I now don't really care about the fill tool as painting it manually is a lot more fun and gives a nice texture.
I also think the eraser and brush should have seperate setting, so a big feather brush for erasing, and the normal brush for painting. There was more things I realized but can't think of them right now, I will edit this post when I remember.

OK, it's on my list of things to do next. Keep the critique coming if you think of anything else! I want to make this the best painting app on Android.
Great picture by the way. I like the shading. Have you tried playing with the filters? Emboss is quite fun for extra texture.
Gonna give it a test now
Great!! Used it on the Atrix, it works really well! Needs a bit more accurate drawing & erasing (as it was suggested a couple of posts earlier), your finger covers the line as it is now. Will post more ideas soon.
Great potential!!
thanks, awesome job mate!
i don't have to go back WinMo to get all nice drawing apps
works very fast and fluid on HD2, running MIUI 1.4.22.
size isn't an issue on 4.3 inches
maybe "menu" button features could be ipmlemented in bottom bar with "drag up" gesture much like music player on miui if you know what i'm saying.
anyways, excellent for beta, get it to market with final polish i'd shure be willing to pay couple of $$ for it. and offer free verion without layers forcasual users, with ads.
keep up with great work!

Thanks for the suggestion. I'd love to have an extra toolbar button for the menu because I know from app reviews that some users don't know where to look for extra options. I want to make sure all the features are easy to find.

Thanks! That's roughly my plan. I think it'll be best to have layers in the free version though so people that haven't used layers before can get a feel for how useful they are.
Loving this
Super fast and accurate on my Vibrant. Love the gestures. Drawing tools are neat and the filters are fun. Options are all easily accessible.
Took a minute to figure out how to delete a layer (tried long pressing on the layer). Wanted to save the image with a name - not just save it generically. Also, duplicating an image could be nicer if I didn't have to open the image to "save a copy."
Very awesome drawing app! Can't wait to let my kids play with it, too.

I decided to avoid long pressing for layer options because my initial testers found this hard to discover.

I'll have a think about how names can be assigned to files without annoying users with pop-ups each time they export a file. What was the reason you wanted to name your file? I could add a menu option that lets you give your painting a title and exported files could be named after this. Would that help?

I'm planning to add a "copy image" operation to the gallery screen which should fix this.

Awesome app. Running perfectly on my Galaxy S
Awesome app,bro

Thanks for trying. Do you mean you would like
1. clicking on contact means composing sms rather than make a voice call? or
2. one more button or something like that for each contact so that you can start composing sms in one tap?
Nice design, I would like a silver instead of black color for bar and keypad option though.
Please add greek keypad language and search. Here is letter layout:
-----------------
αβγ δεζ
ηθι κλμ νξο
πρσς τυφ χψω
----------------
P.S
Here is the greek translation:

I would like option 2. Right now when i search for a contact, and a contact is found, once i click on the contact, it auto dials, which is fine. If i click on the little man icon on the right side of the contact name, a smaller sub menu appears listing down the contact's info. so i'm just thinking if there's an option to replace that little man icon with a sms shortcut so that if u click on that, then it will use the default mobile number and bring you to your default sms app with that default mobile number.
oh yes, a couple of feedback points .... but how am I going to clear the call logs with angel dialer? I couldn't find a way to do it.
And I don't know if it's just me but the graphics of the app don't seem too sharp, it's a little bit blurry. Not sure if you used lower res files so that the app will load faster ?
Looks pretty promising!
I have 1 suggestion:
I would like the ability to show contacts that match the criteria at the beginning of the name first. Say I type "22". This means I am probably looking for AAron, ABraham or ACe (completely made up). Instead, names like mr lAAn of biancA Brown or 00316000022000 may end up before the other ones.

Thanks for you opinions. Regarding to call log deletion, just long click the contact and have a look at the last two menu items.
What device are you using? Maybe I miss some environment specific images?

Ok, I went to the Call Log section, long clicked a contact appearing there and the last 2 menu items is Share as vCard and Copy to Clipboard. I don't see anything related to deletion at all. I would have thought the logical thing would be having another option to clear logs when i press the Menu button regardless of what section I'm in.
I'm using Desire HD. But you know what? After changing the theme from black on white to white on black, it seems a bit sharper now... though the Angel Dialer icon is still a bit blurry when it's beside my other icons on the App drawer, but no big deal.

I created hdpi images for the app, but I do notice at emulator sometimes that it is little bit blur as you mentioned. I am not sure why.
0.9.6.2 minor bug fix release
0.9.6.2
- New: Greek localization (thanks to dancer_69)
- New: Hebrew searching and keypad
- New: Greek searching and keypad
- Fix: Call log deletion menu item is not shown when it should
- Fix: Dial button is not shown if keypad is set to be always shown, and the app is launch from another app
- Fix: Search of word initial alphabet is not highlight properly
- Fix: Dial properly when there is space in phone number
This one has a lot of potential,
In terms of functionality it works great and has a lot of features that other dialers are currently lacking.
However, I do feel like the UI is out of place. It looks like an iOS port.
In my opinion apps that deal with core functionality (such as dialing) should try and go along with the native look of the OS.
P.S. props for having Hebrew T9 implemented this early!
Will give it a try now, although I am very satisfied with dialerOne.
Testing now on HTC Inspire on CM7 N83
I have The Simply Honey Gingerbread ROM (2.3.3) installed and my default dialer automatically closes whenever I tried to use it. This has solved my problem...
Thank You. I like It.
Only thing is I think you should allow it to be themed
Really just the colors, nothing too fancy.
Crashes on x10mini when typing number that relates to Greek contacts with first name and last name. Sent crash reports that say DAXGr.

[App] New Swiftkey Beta - VIP Registrations Open Today Only

Just got this email from SwiftKey
Hey folks,
We've just released a new beta for Android smartphones with some great new
features and stability improvements.
We need your feedback on this as soon as possible, so please head over to
the following URL, download it, then leave feedback on the forum:
http://swiftkey.net/vip/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=1115
We're also opening up the SwiftKey VIP group until midnight Pacific time
tonight to celebrate what we're confident is an awesome new beta for you
all. If you have any contacts you think would be interested in trying the
beta, tell them to join at http://www.swiftkey.net/vip using code
#swiftkeyFRIDAY - but this will only work today. Feel free to post this on
social networks.
Cheers,
Joe Braidwood
Chief Marketing Officer, TouchType
Changelog for SwiftKey 2.0.2.8
- Redesigned installer process
- Redesigned settings menu
- SwiftKey shortcut launcher on keyboard
- New typing styles: Precise (identical to Classic), Rapid (similar to Rapidfire)
(Note: you can reproduce "Manual" with "Space will always insert a space" in advanced)
- Text handling improvements (fixed doubledouble bug, etc. + general stability improvements)
- Improved dark theme
We need your feedback, especially on how the new installer and settings UI works for you, and also on how the text handling works.
Known Issues
Installer personalization loop
We currently know there is an issue if you enable and set the keyboard to default before going through the installer wizard – if you try to use any personalization features, these will load another instance of the installer whenever you try to enter text. Please complete all steps of the installer wizard in the order they are presented to avoid this problem.
Whatsapp
Some installations on Android 2.2 or lower when using Whatsapp have a text handling bug with this version of SwiftKey. It appears to come from a bug in the coding of Whatsapp, but we're looking into this.
Hard keyboard in browsers
There are some bugs with hard keyboards in browsers. Please report issues you have in this regard.
Just tried for 10 minutes..
It´s very nice, new installer is easy, settings UI simple to understand , and also text handling fast.
Congrats!
(When u add sliding feature [like FlexT9, Sywpe,..] I will test again )
I just got the email this morning. It's pretty great. I prefer the standard android keyboard because I don't really use the extra features of other keyboards, but I've liked swiftkey since the beginning.
Sent from my CM7 SCH-i500
That keyboard looks really sharp way nicer than Swype's or FlexT9's. Wish it had tracing capabilities then it be perfect.
wow, it support my mother language right now, great
AMAZING APP!!
REALLY DESERVE 5 STARS!!
it has Indonesian dictionary,
while many keyboard apps don't!
AND WHAT REALLY IMPORTANT IS:
it can import my sms sentbox, facebook status and wallpost as suggestion words!
SO the words suggestion is JUST REALLY LIKE what i usually type to wrote a sentence.
because in my country (and i believe not just happen on my country),
there's a different words for general-formal conversation, and everyday conversation.
and in my country is an unique, every region or island has its native language as a daily conversation, not just Indonesian.
with this app, it is the problem solver, for a daily-use-conversation keyboard app.
i love you guys
the other keyboard apps just using general-formal words for the suggestion,
but this app, definetely better, because it can use your daily words conversation as a words suggestion. i really like it.
i can type so fast with my android!
but, my question:
the one and only problem is, how can i disable auto-capitalization?
Aww missed the signups..
I'm from Indonesia. It is really great that swiftkey now support Indonesian. I've been using swiftkey since beginning use of my first Android phone. Now it is getting better. Good job.

Text Aide started out as a simple Xposed module called Text Xposed to add 3 options (Define, Search and Share) to the Contextual Action Bar when some text was selected while typing.
But now it has a lot of features which do not require Xposed at all.
• Define Picking up from xDictionary by @perseus0807, this displays the definition of the selected word as a pop-up. Ideal when you are reading an e-book or a news article and find it rather distracting to open a dictionary app again and again.
There are two ways to do this without Xposed
• First is to activate a feature called "Copy to define" from the settings. As the name suggests, you just have to select some text and hit the copy button.
It can be easily paused from the notification when you don't need it.
Enabling the + button shows you a pop-up with the copied text, which is useful in apps like WhatsApp where a word can't be selected singularly from the chats
• Second is to share the text and select Define
• Third is to use the homescreen widget
• For Play Books you can also use "Web search" feature. And for Moon+, FB Reader dictionary feature choose "ColorDict"
• Offline definitions available in 5 languages currently: English, French, German, Italian and Spanish
• For more languages you can use my app Dict Aide which supports StarDict dictionary packs
• Online thesaurus with a list of synonyms and antonyms
• In addition to that, you can quickly switch to Wikipedia for additional information and Wiktionary for languages that currently do not have offline access. You can do this in any language! Just modify it in the settings.
• Expand This gives you system wide text expansion. You can define a macro (shortcut) like @addhome to type your full home address! Very useful if you type something often.
Just set a shortcut and let Text Aide do the rest!
• Search You can add a list of your favourite search engines and access them quickly from a sidebar. Also includes a floating browser
• First way is to use Copy Aide and enable the search button from the notification.
• Second is to share the text and then select 'Enhanced Search' from the dialog
• Third is to use the search button in AOSP (based) browsers or apps like Wikipedia.
• It can also be done using the homescreen widget
• Share You can do the following things by sharing text
• Copy - As the name suggests, you can copy it from the share menu
This will also be shown in browser selection menu (when you tap on a link).
• Dial You can use the shared text to place a call.
• Open As URL - This allows you to open the selected text in the web browser as a URL/link (if it's valid).
• Speak Using this feature, you can make (almost) any text on your device speak using TTS engine.
This can be very useful if you're learning a new language!
Please watch the video for a good demo on how to use it.
Xposed gives you additional control. You can double tap a TextView (which means fields like WhatsApp chat bubbles, YouTube comments, Play store description, etc) to force selection.
This, however, has some limitations and might not work in all apps.
You will also get all the five buttons (Define, Dial, Search+, Share & Speak) in the contextual action bar on selecting some text in most apps.
For Chrome, you can use my module called Chrome Selection Patch
Browsers like Dolphin, Opera, etc are not supported
Installation
Download from Play Store or Xposed repository and install as any other app
Known Bugs
Overflow button gets camouflaged if the background of action bar is white (Android bug)
Selection handles and paste button overlap the overflow menu
Anything else? Let me know
To Do
HTC Compatibility
Add more search engines
Upload to Github for translations, etc

2.1
Quick fix update
- Improved pop-up: Smaller size and better padding. Must look much better now
2.0
Major Release!
The Define framework has been revamped completely!
It was previously based on xDictionary's code, and hence used "WordNet" database for definitions. Unfortunately, it lacked many words, as you must have experienced.
Now, Text Xposed has switched to Livio's Dictionary Provider code.
Advantages
- The most obvious advantage is that the module's size has shrunk to ~50 KB.
- The defintion is now displayed using WebView, so you can pinch to zoom and select text inside it to copy or share
- Livio's dictionary is very comprehensive. You can even search for small words like is, that, etc. And it gives you etymology, synonyms, translations, etc along with the defintion!
- The module and dictionary app complement each other really well. You have a different UI to search for words, when Text Xposed is not accessible.
- You get proper and direct updates for the dictionary from Play store and I don't have to worry about maintaining the dictionary.
- Livio provides more dictionary packs for Italian, French, German and Spanish. Support for these will be added eventually, but low priority for now.
If there are many requests, I might do it earlier though.
Other Changes
- Toast is now gone. Although, it is possible to extract a part of the definition, I felt the main chunks were still too big for a toast.
- I will, however add a time-out option for the pop-up.
- HTC compatibility implemented. Need some more feedback though
- Code Cleanup
TL;DR - Just tell me what to do
- Ok so first of all, delete the "xdictionary" folder. It is no longer needed.
- Then you need Livio dictionary. Either download from here, or press the Define button after a reboot. It will show you a dialog with the link
1.1
- Fixed Define for some devices
- Changed toast for dictionary data copy confirmation
- Other minor changes
1.0
- Initial
Chrome Selection Patch
This an add-on module which allows you enable Search and Share in edit fields of Chrome
AND Search in Incognito mode.
If Text Aide is installed as well, Define, Dial & Search+ will also be available.

Thank you very much!
Great
I love this.. But I've used xdictionary and it pops up real good. This doesn't but I love the idea. Keep it up. if you can make the define to come up even in browsers, it be really cool.
Thanks
Define function does not work
first of all thank you so much for the great work , but for some reason the Define function does not work not so ever .tried it every where on every single app SMS Whats app etc . the only place i have seen it working is when you try it with in your app other wise the search and the share function are working perfectly .
P.S. i don't have xdictionary installed on my phone but when i download it ur app the 33mb of xdictionary were installed successfully on my phone & 1 more thing i tried pop up and the toast option just in case .both working with in ur app but not anywhere else .
thanks and good luck

By “pops up” you mean next to the paste button?
And yes web view needs define option. Added to my to-do list! But some browsers use custom action bars. Might not work with those

I meant the screenshot in my first post. The app I'm using there is WhatsApp. And since you have a Nexus, it should work without any problem.
I'll take a look at your log
Were the dictionary files copied properly. You should've seen a “Done” toast appear?
screenshots
here some screen shots just in case
i did say successfully installed ,it is 33mb 9 files . and i can define the word test within ur app .

Oh yes you did mention that. I'm sorry. Very late here and I'm sleepy
And I don't think there are any errors related to this module in your log. Will have a look again in the morning.
No problem . tomorrow is another day . hopefully we'll find out what went wrong . thanks a lot & good night.
