Hi guys im new here and im thinking about getting a gtablet i like what ive seen about it so far but the only thing that stop me is that would like to jnow is there gonna be an update for gtabcomb in the future (gtabcomb 3.4)

Honestly, I don't think that you will see an upgrade to GtabComb. Flashback is perhaps the most stable Honeycomb rom that you will find atm. It is the only one that is still being regularly updated also.
So i think that is gonna be better to spend more money for one of the latest tablets but thank you anyways

Do you think LG will release ice cream sandwich update for g2x or the awesome devs will be the saviors? XD

We are defiantly not getting it from lg/tmo so that means we wont have the full benefit of ics

Seriously dude, the last thing we need is ANOTHER ICS thread. This makes...what...5 now?
Wish people who have no idea what they are talking about would not say anything. Just a couple of days ago lg said they are evaluating ics to decide whether to bring it to the g2x and that no decision has been made as of yet.

Rumors x the people repeating the rumors = fact?
out of the subject, i did an intel but i couldnt find any thread about it.
my concern is r we gonna get ICS update?
Seriously guys pls HELP!!!! Cant sleep, eat......
No body but the people at LG know if we will get ICS. The Dev's here will do their best for us but, without drivers from Nvidia we will not get the dual core support.
Hey guys,
A buddy of mine is getting a SGSII or iPhone 4S and he is selling me his G2x. I currently rock a Samsung Vibrant running MIUI AOSP
I'm gonna spend the next couple days reading the how to and what not, but I thought I'd take this time to introduce myself and perhaps get any tips tricks and recommendations from you vets.
Well look forward yo trying out some new stuff

It's really a great phone and once nvidia releases proper drivers it will be perfect. I love this phone, wish development was as high as my girlfriend's sensation though. But there's plenty of roms to use on this.

No. ICS is Googles Android OS. CM9 is a modded version of it.
ics simply refers to android version 4.0. Cm9 is based off of android 4.0 aosp but has many added features and tweaks.
Just like cm7 is based off of android 2.3 (gingerbread) aosp.

I think his question is really what is the difference between the two. Which right now I don't think there is much. I think it's just about porting and getting everything working. Maybe there is some small optimizations done but nothing heavy. I think cyanogenmod is working on adding features as we speak and will most likely release a big beta with all of them implemented vs small amounts being added over time

Well for the g2x there isn't much difference because both builds are still broken lol. I know on my galaxy nexus there is a big difference in cm9 and ics feature wise.

Probably the coolest one in the works is the ability to root and unroot your phone via settings. The new music app is nice too. There's a lot being added every week. Its not complete or even close to being but it is looking awesome.

So I suppose this might be getting a little off topic but what is the point being able to root/unroot via settings?

I'll prob use the OTA debloated/tweaked ICS build that is going to be developed regardless

I run passion ics on my vibrant. Ics has alot of cool features. Cant wait til g2x gets it. Only reason i dont run my vibrant daily is i only get 5 hours on the dang thing. But ics is definately a better system with all the tweaks it has.

Anybody know how CM9 development is going so far for the G2x?
Im looking at getting an older android phone just for rooting and flashing roms. OK .... to play around with it lol... Any opinions on what I should get?
I'd recommended a Droid Incredible. I loved that phone when I had it and there are a bunch of roms out there for it.

what about the HTC Eris?
No question, get an HD2. They're incredibly cheap because they came with Windows Mobile as stock, incredibly easy to flash and has the largest spanning forums of any device. You can get every flavour of Android on it from Sense to Touchwiz to AOKP to ICS MIUI. AND, if you're bored you can play around with Windows Phone 7

S2 will be good no?
I didn't even think about the HD2. ill need to look at that... thanks

Just to help you decide, you should probably look at the HD2 Forums
its hard to find them. i just looked and the HD2 is pretty hard to find
I would go with something overbuilt at the time to keep up with the changing flavors of Android.
HTC incredible, definitely, it's a fun learning phone and many still work on it.
Should we expect android 4.2 on the infinity?
Its expected to release at the press conference on 29th October

It's a good bet we will get it eventually. The Prime was released with Honeycomb, but later got ICS and JellyBean.
The original Transformer isn't going to get any more updates after ICS though.
If we are supposed to get it, we'll get it early looking at asus previous record of updates
Sent from my GT-S5570 using xda app-developers app
I suspect so.
Sorry but I find this a stupid topic. Android 4.2 hasn't even been announced yet, why ask? Everybody can only guess, hell maybe 4.2 is even months away who knows...

People were asking about Windows 8 before Vista was even officially announced. It's pretty normal.. And utterly pointless.
Mostly new nexus devices are released with new versions.
The LG nexus 4 is going to be releasing for sure.

Yeah, ASUS sends to be light years ahead of Samsung in this regard ( based on my experience with the epic 4g slider)
tapatalkin'
The last update really disappointed a lot of users.
So it's only human to hope for some kind of progressive fix.
Poor ASUS can't get somethings right so why expect some magic on the next incarnation.
I remember what we used to say about every new version Windows "plug and pray"
