[Q] Is the BNL Mod ported for S I9003? - Samsung Galaxy SL i9003

Our I9003 is great but I miss a lot some kind of led notification.
I have seen a BNL Mod por S I9000 but nothing for I9003.
Any idea? Any volunteer?
Thanks a lot and sorry if this post is wrong here.

Download and use NoLed from market! Its a good substitute for what you are looking for.,..

The main purpose if this mod or app is to save battery. But my dear friend we have LCD not Led.
These are two different
Technologies. So if your purpose is to save battery then BNL is no use.
I hope you understand.

But BNL does not show notifications using the screen. It uses the back-light of the menu and back buttons at the bottom. The original BNL thread says that the battery consumption is ~1% per hour.

This is also ported in samsung galaxy ace which is not usin LED screen

bln doesnt depend on lcd or led

I have seen youtube video which use led screen n Noled app sure used screen for notification but if bnl means notification via touch back buttons then ok its cool.

Screen Filter app problem

I used screen filter on my captivate for night time reading but on my note all it really does is wash out the colors. Is anyone else having this problem or have alternative apps that would work. screen is just too bright for night time reading even on the dimmest setting.
I think this is always how Screen Filter works. Maybe you just didn't notice before due to which setting you're using. Screen Filter works like if you turn down the brightness on a JPG photo, so you lose color depth.
There's no way around it - SF reduces the dynamic range of the screen, so you're going to have a correspondingly smaller palette of colors. The lower you go, the worse it gets.
Thanks for the replies guys. It just seemed more drastic on the note. Maybe its the bigger size. Can't even do a comparison cause I already shipped my captivate off to my mom.
Try using a program with night mode, with opera, doing the red on black mod.
Screen filter also blotches up the blacks for me too.
Superdim is an app available in the market... I am using it happily on my sgs sl i9003... It works great...
Screen filter basically applies a graish filter on the screen whereas superdim allows you to turn down brightness from levels lower than stock!

I found it with no problem. Requires root, maybe that's why it's not showing up for you? I just did a search for Superdim.

I just tried Superdim. Had no effect at all on my minimum brightness.
Anyone know of something to adjust the actual profile of the Autobright??
screen filter is a good app,i usually use at night for reading

Screen filter is useful in the theatre when I don't want to disturb anyone, but other than that it just messes up the colors too much.

That's why super dim is better... It should work on rooted phones...

hmm, never noticed any colour problem with screen filter but then again I don't dim it that much. Will give SuperDim a go though.

Like I said, Superdim doesn't do squat for me. Default minimum brightnes shows 20 on Superdim. If I reduce it to 1 nothing changes. Can you tell me your screen is actually dimmer on 1 than on 20?

ICS bug on Galaxy S i9000

So I searched around and couldn't find anything about this Bug in most ICS roms that I used, the bug is that the status bar's clock keeps freezing , when you lock the screen the time will say 9:30pm but the status bar (and home screen clock widget) will show a frozen time, like 9:15... now the only way to fix it temporarily is reboot but I need a permanent fix, does anybody know anything about this bug?
My rom currently is Dark Knight 5.5
Kernel : Devil 2_7.9 bm
Would appreciate your help

Try to flash it again, if that don't works, almost all ICS roms are beta, so you have to deal with it, or go back to gingerbread.

Now I can deal with it but it once froze while I slept and my alarm won't turn on...I woke 3 hours late to school...

Then there are no permanent fixes, everything is beta. But most problems are with camera and youtube. Even my gio don't have bugs like you. search for the most stable rom, take the risk, or go back to cm7

[APP][FIX][24/7/13]Smear Fix V1.4>>ALL SGS4 devices<<

What is the smearing issue?
Our lovely SGS4 Super AMOLED screens are the first kind to completely turn off pixels when true black is showing...
Previous generation AMOLED screens used on the SGS1,2 & 3 devices kept power to black pixels which could be seen in a very dark room as a faint glow on areas of screen showing black.
So we now have true black screens with switched off pixels which is a GOOD thing... Am I right?
Well in theory yes but you have probably noticed a fairly annoying flaw when this is put into practice. The pixels take time to turn back on so whenever a grey or dark object moves across the screen against a black background the image will "Smear" due to this pixel switch-on delay.
How does this app fix this?
It's very simple and not a true fix. The app creates a nearly transparent white overlay covering the screen. This will make blacks a very dark grey which you will find hard to notice but it is enough to prevent pixels from switching off since true black is eliminated.
Use the Smear Fix app to launch the overlay and the Kill Smear Fix app to remove it. Simple!
Quick Guide
#1 install the "Kill smear fix app first
#2 install the "Smear Fix V1.4 app
#3 When you launch the app there is NO ui interfaace. The app with create a nearly invisible overlay which will cover the entire screen.
#4 The app WILL auto start on boot UNLESS you have killed it previously using the Kill app.
#4 The Kill App will remove the overlay AND prevent the main app restating on reboot. The control file for this is "smearfix" stored at the root of your SD memory.
IMPORTANT: This app has just one known issue/bug/quirk which is the same you will find for ALL overlay/screen filter type apps so I can't fix it.
When the app is running you WILL NOT be able to install any apps manually. The install button just won't respond. You will have to use the kill app to undo the fix to remedy this.
ROOT NOT REQUIRED!!
Install the Kill App BEFORE you install the main overlay app
V1.2>>> Kill app now properly kills the main app and service.
V1.3>>> Fixed landscape overlay
V1.4>>> Made overlay 1080x1920 properly this time. USES LESS RESOURCES TO RUN!!

Nice work
Nice work.
The only 'small' disadvantage will be the battery life. I dont know to what extent it will reduce but it surely will since switching on of those black pixels will come into picture.
Anyway, great job, man

It's going to draw more not because of the screen but because you're adding an overlay layer on the whole screen which needs to get fully redrawn every single time anything happens on the screen.
The application works well. I only detect one problem, to rotate the screen coverage is maintaining the width of the screen in portrait and not suited to be in landscape.
I hope it will be useful to say.
Thank you very much.
Sorry for my bad English.

Samsung cheated, they changed the UI so there will be know true black anywhere. This was the fix
In apps with true blacks (like STweaks) you can still see smearing.

[Q] Not sure where to post this - re, ParanoidAndroid Rom

Not sure if this is the right forum to ask this, but I figured it was best as this is a Q/A/help type of question. I have a vzw gs3, and played with a couple of roms a while back, but ended up going back to stock. Lately I've been reading about PA, and would like to try it out, but I'm confused as to what I need to download. If I click on the 'ROMS' link above, then I see a post that leads to alpha and beta versions of PA, but if I go into the 'Original Android Development' sub forum, I see a completely different set of options. So, which is the right one to use? Does anyone know how battery life is on an AOSP rom vs. stock?
Thanks,

How's the battery life? currently on stock and if i'm not at work, i can get almost 2 days between charges. On a normal day, I unplug at 6:30am and by 10:30pm am usually around 35-45%.
I wasn't a fan of AOKP; how much of that is integrated into it?
Thanks,

Yes, that is a benefit of being rooted. I do tend to have issues when going back to my nandroid - I have to re-setup switftkey and a few other apps. It's odd, but not a big deal. I did try them both over the weekend, and I liked PA better than PAC, but had issues with both that made me go back to stock for now. Some things were functionality issues - the AOSP calendar doesn't show the event when on month view, I couldn't get my custom notification sounds to work or my alarm sound (this is a biggie as I use my phone to wake me up every morning, and I've found that I tend to sleep through most alarm sounds, but have the Piezzo alarm sound from my droid x and that wakes me up right away).
Any suggestions on what I could try? I really liked how fast my phone was after having flashed to something else, but the calendar, alarm sound and notification sounds are a necessity for me. I also had issues with adding my work email to it as well - I could add the account, but it would never download my email, nor sync my calendar - also deal breakers for me.
Thanks
