So this may be a little annoying to some members because there are probably threads out there somewhere however, I am new to this website (friend suggested it) and i am new to android and xperia play.
So i'm a little miffed at the lack of serious ps1 titles on it and i was hoping Sony would release more now that the tablets are out and using the same software but they aren't.
Is there anyone who could explain in clear steps as i am a technical noob and have no idea what i am doing with this phone, how to get ps1 emulators/roms to work well?
I've read about FPse and such but i have no idea how to work it or how to make sure it runs games properly. So i wouldn't wanna pay for it and then not know how to use it.
Any help would be really grateful.
Thanks
FPSE is really simple.
1) Extract the BIOS from your PSX (it's illegal to download them...).
2) Extract the ISOs from the disks of the PSX games you own (it's illegal to download them...).
3) Install FPSE and put the BIOS file and the ISO you want to play inside your SDCard.
4) Run FPSE. It will ask you for the BIOS you've ripped. Go to the folder where you've extracted it using the program's file manager, and click on the BIOS file.
5) Now you can do the same procedure to select the ISO you want to play. You have different options to configure the emulator to your liking.
6) Get an idea of what you're doing to your phone. No one is going to spoon feed you everything.
Hey, thanks for the reply and I appreciate it.
I own the majority of ps1 games that I want to play so I can just
rip those using imageburn right?
I dont expect to get spoon fed anything but as im still relatively
new to my phone I also wouldnt want to install an app or mess
with settings without knowing the right way to go about it.
Again thank you for the steps, will use these when trying it out.
Is it true that multiple disc titles run into problems though when disc switching?
Not on fpse. There is a handy Eject button so you can pop in the new disc as you need it.

sooo, because i'm a cheap basta*d i'm going to buy a dvd player with gps for my car on ebay and i've noticed a lot of them, or even all of them?, run on windows ce. So here's my question, will any cab run on windows ce? i mean, winmo 5, 6, 6.1 and everything before that ran on windows ce right? so how easy would it be?
Picture this, a 8-16gb sd card, jam it into the card reader and start up S2P (slide to play) for one bad ass cover flowin' music center! obviously other thing would be useful to, and since these bad boys are only like $300 buckaroos it isn't a bad idea, especially for us gadget pr0n guys right?
what about flashing a rom from a SD card (only heard rumors/speculation about that, probably not possible)? or just loading up manila 2d/3d via throttle launcher and getting the think looking pimp? no phone antenna, no problem, just sync it through the bluetooth and make calls (new app required i'm guessing, or at least adapt/beautify some existing cab/exe). get internet sharing to work on it somehow and you're seriously looking at a pretty cool carputer. well, with all i'd want to use one for anyways. Who wants to do more than what a good rom on one of our phones can do while in a car anyways?
I'm not sure if it will run out of the box like that, with nothing more than some cabs on and sd card, or if you have to do something else (file explorer and whatnot), but i figured xda would be the best place to start for the right answers. I've never gone wrong before with you guys, so speak up! let's see what we come up with!
or at least give me a link to a better place if you know of one and i'll get off my soapbox...
anyways, i've got access to a few vogues, a wing/herald, and a touch pro to do testing with, along with the dvd player/win CE unit--in about a week or two that is--so i'm more than happy to put it on the table.
Man i hope you guys are reading this and as pumped as i am.
anyways, pm me with anything, or i'll just keep looking to see if anyone else posts here

does anyone know if this would even work?
This could work.
First of all, you need to look up how to disable OEM's shell (factory "software" of the player) and enable Windows CE interface.
Next you either install Handheld PC apps, or install libraries which allow you to run applications from PocketPC.
Myself I tried it with a cheap GPS. Yeah, WinCE + apps are a major step up from maps only, but it is not anywhere close to even a non-phone PPC. Because of, for example, lack of WiFi. The big advantage is, that I can install any WinCE compatible map instead of outdated OEM maps.
Hope I am right, and this helps
Where did you find information about your GPS? I just got one, model# TID-7626GPS that I'm going to try to mod, but i can't find information about how to get the WinCE.
if you could pass on any links to places i could look it would help a ton. For how do disable the factory OEM and those libraries?
First you need to find out real manufacturer of your device. I googled model name you said but there's nothing
Or, connect that device via ActiveSync (yes, the same) and see if there's a file \Windows\autorun.inf
If it exists, backup it. Then change it so it will load \Windows\explorer.exe
That should unlock WinCE UI.
However, the file may not exist. In this case you have to look for instructions over the web.
So i dowloaded Tiger arcade. I've got a few ROMS to work but some wont load. says "load rom failed try another file"Are they just not supported or is there something I can do to fix this? I really want to play strikers 1945 and none of them will work.. Got other 1943/1945 games to work.
BUMP!
I also would like to know!
For mame it works best if u use a sd card that has nothing but mame and the roms on it...go to walmart get you a cheap 2gig card ...reason is mame has a hard time seaching ...i got this info from the dev. 6mts ago and have not had any issues since....
I am also having similar problems.... I just downloaded Tiger Mame and Multiple different roms trying to find 1 or 2 that it would recognize; and it will not recognize ANY roms. I turned off quick rom search; tried quick rom search with it on.... Mounted my EVO to my PC and made sure that the roms were under the 'Correct Tiger Mame Rom Folder'; and for the life of me I can't get it to work.... Other than having to buy a "whole new SD card" and swap them out EVERY time I want to use it, is there any other solutions at ALL?
--Also I am having trouble with PSX4DROID if anybody has time to make a comment regarding it.... It will only download 1 or 2 PSX roms, and then it will stop downloading any further roms (It will emmediately stop downloading, right when I press "download")(Or it will download halfway and then stop.)(Or even say something about "not enough room on SD card, NULL" or Something like that. even though there is WAY MORE than enough room left.)(1 solution that 'KINDA' worked for me, but not very well, was I downloaded each PSX rom, ONE at a time; transfer them to my pc after each download, one at a time: and after I have a few roms on my PC, I transfered them all to my phone all at once. But then to get any other roms, I have to re-transfer them ALL to my PC and get rid every every rom off my phone, and repeat the above process) Anything will help on both subjects. Thank you so much ahead of time!!
I just replied at another tread when i saw your question. So same answer here; Actually you just have to create a directory "roms" in the root of your sd card and place your (unzipped) roms there. It will play Neo Geo, Capcom ROMs and many others. Look at the wiki for the roms supported. I've tried it and I'm back to the eighties again, only now on Android. Success!!
I have just started playing with this... the only prerequisite to get this to work is to make sure the ROM names are in the MAME format... do a search on Google for MAME ROMs and some sites will come up with ROMs... the names will be there as well..
Also, only a limited number of ROMs are supported.... I forgot where I saw the supported list, but I searched Google for it... i.e. 3countb.zip should be the name of 3 count bout... try and see if it works...
And keep them zipped and in the /sdcard/roms folder
Only thing that stinks is Tiger is formated for a small screen on my Nook ! Also, can't seem to exit out of a game once its loaded...
I have installed tiger arcade 4.0.2 in my android.but when I enter it and push coin+start button,no cheating option comes.what to do?
Hi,
Right so I've recently baught "gangstar Rio" from gameloft, brilliant game etc but one problem.. Its SOOO LAGGY. Like sometimes I'll be running along or driving and it will send me WAYYYYYY off course, or precede to turn way after I've needed to thus making the game almost impossible.
I run my Xperia Play (r800i) at "On-Demand" and at 1.9GHz Maximum which could EASILY cope with this game but its as-if the touch-screen and the buttons dont like each other and from time to time ill get a "Application has crashed" force close message.
Now I'm taking my phone and my laptop with me on deployment to A'ghan; what I want to know is is there anyway to set my backed-up ROM from my phone as the rom on the android emulator so that I can get it and other xperia play optimised games to play smoothly (I also have the sixaxis mod) and use either a wired usb controller on my laptop or set so that my emulator allows me to set which keys are the controller of the xperia play?
You would somehow need to get your hands on a recovery app apk like CMW or xRecovery, then install the recovery apk on your emulator, then flash your backed up rom on your emulator with recovery.
This is just a theory. With a little luck and patience I think it's possible.
A way to install apk on emulator is through URLs. If you have access though FTP to some site, you upload to a directory the open that URL inside the emulator's browser. APK will prompt to install. Just remember allowing unkown sources from applications menu.
Hi all,
Not sure if many of you have experience with this. I've got all three of the gba emulators from the screen shot.
All need a .gba file to run the game. No problem I have many of these files passed to me by a friend years ago.
I put Pokémon on a while ago (yes I know haha) and it ran fine, so I went ahead and out a few others on (street fighter, harvest moon) but none of these .gba files work. They were stored on a different hdd to Pokémon but surely this can't make a difference?
Anyone know if there's a way of analyzing the files somehow to see if they should work or making them run some other way?
I can attach the files if this helps?
They all work on my emulator on the pc, just not on the phone whilst Pokémon does?
Hmm, seems they work when I email the files over. But not when put on sd card. Strange
Guys, emulators themselves are ok to discuss… as that's not warez. But discussing games is.

I have spent the last week trying to fire the game. After downloading the game, mounting and installing the game, I copied both cd and a copy of the game on to my phone (in case I fail to put the files in the right places. And yes I know that downloaded games make me a bad person but I would rather not risk buying a broken old disk), after putting cd files in conquests and main folder in Exagear (just in case) and replacing all files as it shows up, when I fire the game I get a window saying unload the debugger? Wtf is that?! I am not versed so good in programming stuff like in hardware so that is hard to understand. I hope I can get this to work so I can buy the cuprum controls and start playing the game all out. I even tried a crack that came with the game iso but then it goes back to no cd crap.
My phone is Galaxy S3 and rooted with Kingo Root
I do have an anti virus (CM Security) and some RAM boosters (which so far feel like trash than boosters).
I would be glad if I could get help ASAP so that I can buy the controls ASAP.
EDIT: My bad, it is Civ3 Complete not Conquests.
