Flashed TBH's EP3HA. Worked for 24 hours. Now bootlooping and I have a question. - Verizon Droid Charge

First, I'm already pretty certain I'm going to have to reflash EP3HA, but I have a question I'm hoping to get answered.
So last night I flashed TBH's EP3HA. I was previously on a stock, rooted EE4 with the PB&J lagfix kernel. I didn't even think about the lagfix because I figured since I was going to Odin EP3HA I didn't need to turn the lagfix off. The phone has been working fine for 24 hours but today I restarted it and now I'm in a boot loop.
Could the Voodoo lagfix be the reason I'm boot looping? I totally forgot to use TB too so I'm going to have to re-download everything I don't want to have to do this over and over again.
Thanks.

Yes your issue is going to be that you were using a froyo kernel with a gingerbread ROM. If I was you I would flash the charge Pit file and stock ee4 ROM then boot up and flash your gingerbread rom and or kernel.. You can find those files on the thread how to fix your phone.. You may be able to just flash back to the ee4 ROM leaving your Kernel in tact as well

Thanks for the quick reply. I already had the ED1 downloaded. So I just reflashed that with the PIT file. So now I'll reflash EP3HA and I'm thinking that will fix it.
By the way. I actually wasn't using the PBJ kernel with EP3HA. I just used the kernel that came with it.

Yep you got it... Make sure if you want the lagfix back to flash an updated kernel after getting your ep3h loaded. I'm running imo 3.1.0 with good results

[ROM][STOCK][CWM] Stock Deodexed ROMs

Not sure why anyone would really need these versus a debloated ROM, but here they are. These are the stock ROMs, just deodexed and zip aligned. They won't flash the kernel, only system.
Download - ED1
Download - ED2
Download - EE4
Updated OP with deodexed EE4
will you be releasing a debloated ee4?

Yes, slowly working on getting the debloated ROM updated.
Can I flash this in odin with lagfix enabled???? Rooted my charge last night worked great, woke up this morning and stuck on samsung logo

No, these are meant to be flashed in CWM and you will want to have Voodoo disabled before flashing any of the packages here.
Ok im so glad you posted these, imnuts. These files basically got my baseband modems back.?

Does the EE4 include the new Radio? Thanks!
Doing this gets rid of root?
This will put back to factory correct?

Deodexed factory, which isn't stock. These are primarily for anyone looking to create a ROM, or looking for a particular file, or files, that aren't in a ROM. That, or someone who is fine with Stock, but would like to use a theme.

No, you need the real stock ROMs here:

Unfortunately, I have an issue with the EE4 deodexed ROM, and it is reproducible.
After installing it for the first time, I get an error in CWM stating "Can't mount /sdcard." Reflashing CWM with ODIN did not fix the issue. Note that on this install, I had installed the PBJ kernel prior to installing this deodexed ROM.
At this point, I had to restore the full stock ED2 and do the OTA to EE4. This time I installed this deodexed EE4 first, rather than installing the kernel first to see if that made a difference. After installing this deodexed EE4 once again, it went back to the default android recovery. After reinstalling CWM, I once again got the same error of "Can't mount /sdcard." This is a problem since I am no longer able to do any updates in CWM.
This EE4 deodexed ROM will boot, but I have problems accessing the SD card when hooked to the computer. It can't read many files, and won't write at all. I have no problems accessing the SD card outside of this ROM.
Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated!

you could try mounting it manually in CWM under the mounts and storage option
unfortunately this didnt work. I decided to use imnuts debloated rom and then downloaded the deodexed rom for the apks that i wanted to install. This method seemed to fix the sdcard issue. I'm curious as to why flashing the deodexed rom would affect the scdard while the debloated rom works???
Thank you for helping anyway.

if I'm not mistaken the deodexed roms were early packages that had an sd card write issue, the debloated one should include the fix, hence no issues

EP1Q-Issues

Anyone download P3Droid's EP1Q leak and Odin and then boot loop to Samsung screen. I can't get it to work?
Same thing happened to me. I'm going to ODIN back to factory and then try and see if that works. What were you coming from? I was coming from Gummy ee4
I am coming from Gummy GBE 1.8 EP1F/H.
I am going to try and re-odin Gummy 1.8.
Let me know if that works. I was thinking about going to that anyways. Thanks
Same here, odin'd from gummy froyo.
Bootloop,
flashed EP1H
then
Flashed the EP1Q again
Bootloop
Going back to Gummy 1.8 GBE fixed it ok for me....have to wait for Kejar to get his hands on it and figure out what P3Droid did.....
Wipe your DATA...
I did wipe after I odined because it booted me into recovery but typically you don't need to wipe after a leak Odin because it formats everything? Can anyone confirm they are up and running on the P3Special Odin file?
I have been looking for it but can't find it.
It's apparently only available on the TBH app at the moment. I don't use Paypal so I can't say with any authority.
Yeah you can only get it with his app.
Sent from my SCH-I510 using Tapatalk
What a load of crap...charging for leaks indirectly. Release the damn ROM, TBH! Shame.
Only p3 would release a leak that doesnt even boot. Such a joke.
So is it still not booting?
imnuts figured out some boot files weren't included and when put into the package make it boot correctly.. check out his twitter

Success
I've tried all of the following and was finally able to get it to boot:
Tried: odin(norepart, nopit, noautoreboot) NON SPECIAL from existing chargeGBE-1.8
Result: booted to cwm-4.0.0.4, factory reset, splash ep1q spash, then splash loop
Tried: odin(repart, pit, noautoreboot) revert to ed1, then odin(noautoreboot) to ep1q NON SPECIAL
Result: FAIL, could not mount stl11
Tried: odin(repart,pit,noautoreboot) revert to ed1 stock, odin(noautoreboot) to ep1h, odin(noautoreboot) to ep1q NON SPECIAL
Result: booted into into 3e recovery, selected reboot, am now @ stock EP1Q.
update:
flashed latest cwm recovery via odin, and proceeded to manuall convert rfs to ext4 via (tar -cvpf /sdcard/ep1q_{system,dbdata,data,cache}, etc....), am now on ext4 w/ EP1Q.
I just posted a seperate thread noting that I've tried different ways to get my phone back up. I can not either. Subscribing looking for a fix.
I only downloaded the debloated version, not the full version for EP1Q, unable to try that fix at the moment.
ive tried it. bootloops. odin back to ee4. tried it. bootloops. odin to leak EP1F. tried it. now CWR doesnt load up and theres a whole ish bout sd card not found. and yes ive data wipe multiple times. did it all for giggles and kicks to cover all bases just so you know. anyhow. back to stable ee4 for me.
Does the EP1Q leak have changes to the radio as well?
when did u reboot?

Hi did you just flash one after other without rebooting in between?

[Q] Stuck on SAMSUNG screen

I flashed the debloated 2.3.4 EP1W leak yesterday and all was going good. Today I flashed imoseyon's (voodoo) kernel at h ttp://rootzwiki.com/showthread.php?3953-KERNEL-GB-imoseyon-kernel-(stock-repacked-v2.4.0voodoo-10-2-11) because it supports voodoo (I was on RFS before this). I did a nandroid backup right before I flashed through CWM. After rebooting, I am stuck on the SAMSUNG screen. I am thinking that this might be the system converting to EXT4, but I did not hear any female voice.
If the issue does not fix itself in 30 minutes, I will reboot. How should I get out of this problem?
I'm not sure, but you might be able to Odin something like Humblecomb 4.0, which will give you root, Vooodoo kernel (Imoseyon Kernel 2.06, I believe), Recovery, and EXT4 (conversion on reboot from Odin). From there you may be able to CWM to the EP1W debloated.
Gummycharged and Humble Gingerbread ROMs are both great ROMs and should work perfectly with that kernel you want.
The time that I bootlooped was easily amended by reverting to one of the stock ROMs via Odin.
I just flashed imoseyon's non-voodoo kernel (which I luckily downloaded to my SD on accident) and it booted up. Does anyone know of any other voodoo kernels for EP1W?

OK I flashed imosayon's 2.3.4 instead of the latest 2.4.0 (it was the only other download link available) and it booted with voodoo on. Holy crap this is fast getting like 2200s on quadrant.
Please use the Q&A Forum for questions Thanks
Moving to Q&A

need help with root.

I flash CWM and installed imoseyon repacked kernal 4.0.0. I installed su from the market. binary update fails and i have no root. binary updater says checking for busybox....not found downlading busybox...ok then checking current install path....fail. i have rooted adn flashed may times with no issues.
This is the first time rooting after gb update though. am i missing something?
Go back into CWM and try flashing this. It worked for me.
thanks but that didn't work. I try to run wifi tether and it says my kernel isn't supportive but its imoseyon's newest kernel. gb 4.0.0and im using imnuts newest cwm 5. something its light blue. think there is a problem with the kernel or cwm? also im using odin 1.82
The way I see it you have nothing to lose. Why don't you try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1406951 Use the Odin version. This is the Rom I am on and it is smooth.
thanks i might have no choice at this point. I have been trying to dl infinity rom w/tsm ext4 since yesterday but dl either stalls or get a fail dl error.
Have you tried infinity rom? i used it back when it was first released and really liked it. how does that compare to infinity rom?
I was on Infinity w/TSM_ext4 and was having issues. Went to Infinity_ext4 and it was ok. I like the work that Imnuts does. I believe he is stopping work on Infinity to work on ICS for the Charge so I decided to try this. I am completely happy with the TweakStock Rom. This guy did a great job.
thanks for your help
No problem.
Try going back into cwm and mounting the system, don't reboot. Now reflash the su package. Reboot and check for root.

[Q] Install stock FP1 kernel?

I've had my share of issues with all of the PBJ FP1 kernels and just want to install the stock. I've converted my system from EXT back to RFS. I'm currently on PBJ 0504, but can't flash back. I tried flashing the stock kernel "FP1_Stock_kernel.tar.md5" in Odin, but it hangs on the boot animation. I've tried flashing "FP1HKernelStock.zip" in CWR and it hangs at the boot animation. Is there a stock EPD4 I can flash? I haven't been able too find one. Also, when I flash a lower kernel, the new FP1 doesn't display in the updates section in Settings.
Can someone help me out here?
Thanks!

When it hang, did you try to pull the battery then put it back and reboot the second time?
Yes I've tried that, it doesn't work.
Try running fix permissions in CWM. I've heard that as a fix. You can also reflash your rom (without wiping) as well.
Reflash the ROM that you're on and the boot animation issue will go away.

I flashed the stock FP1H kernel, then reflashed Tweaked 2.0 all in CWR. Hmm, that just gets me stuck on the Samsung logo.
Go into recovery and mount everything.
Data / systems / extra.
Then go to advanced and run fix permission ...

Well I was able to get my phone back by reflashing the ROM. I still can't get to the stock FP1. I read the best way was to have the auto update from EP4D to FP1. Where can I get the stock EP4D so I can try this? Can I still do it using Tweaked 2.0, a ROM that was compiled on FP1 ?

Ah OK, that makes sense. No flashing back to EP4D for me.
So I went and flashed the Stock FP1 in CWR, but I don't think it stuck, I think it's still PBJ. In Settings under "Kernel version" it says 2.6.35.7-FP1, but I still have voodoo sound available. I wouldn't think the stock kernel would support voodoo enhancement.

The stock kernel supports Voodoo Sound (bass boost non-functional) if you are using the paid version of Voodoo Sound and load the kernel module.
The surefire way to tell is to open terminal emulator and run the command 'uname -a'. If the timestamp is in May, you're on PBJ.
Most likely, you didn't mount /system prior to flashing the kernel.

I actually do have the paid version of VS, so I guess that would explain it. i checked the date in terminal and it says "Sat Feb 25". So it looks like I have stock FP1. Thanks for the help!
