EP1Q-Issues - Verizon Droid Charge

Anyone download P3Droid's EP1Q leak and Odin and then boot loop to Samsung screen. I can't get it to work?

Same thing happened to me. I'm going to ODIN back to factory and then try and see if that works. What were you coming from? I was coming from Gummy ee4

I am coming from Gummy GBE 1.8 EP1F/H.
I am going to try and re-odin Gummy 1.8.

Let me know if that works. I was thinking about going to that anyways. Thanks

Same here, odin'd from gummy froyo.
Bootloop,
flashed EP1H
then
Flashed the EP1Q again
Bootloop

Going back to Gummy 1.8 GBE fixed it ok for me....have to wait for Kejar to get his hands on it and figure out what P3Droid did.....

Wipe your DATA...

I did wipe after I odined because it booted me into recovery but typically you don't need to wipe after a leak Odin because it formats everything? Can anyone confirm they are up and running on the P3Special Odin file?

I have been looking for it but can't find it.

It's apparently only available on the TBH app at the moment. I don't use Paypal so I can't say with any authority.

Yeah you can only get it with his app.

What a load of crap...charging for leaks indirectly. Release the damn ROM, TBH! Shame.

Only p3 would release a leak that doesnt even boot. Such a joke.

So is it still not booting?

imnuts figured out some boot files weren't included and when put into the package make it boot correctly.. check out his twitter

Success
I've tried all of the following and was finally able to get it to boot:
Tried: odin(norepart, nopit, noautoreboot) NON SPECIAL from existing chargeGBE-1.8
Result: booted to cwm-4.0.0.4, factory reset, splash ep1q spash, then splash loop
Tried: odin(repart, pit, noautoreboot) revert to ed1, then odin(noautoreboot) to ep1q NON SPECIAL
Result: FAIL, could not mount stl11
Tried: odin(repart,pit,noautoreboot) revert to ed1 stock, odin(noautoreboot) to ep1h, odin(noautoreboot) to ep1q NON SPECIAL
Result: booted into into 3e recovery, selected reboot, am now @ stock EP1Q.
update:
flashed latest cwm recovery via odin, and proceeded to manuall convert rfs to ext4 via (tar -cvpf /sdcard/ep1q_{system,dbdata,data,cache}, etc....), am now on ext4 w/ EP1Q.

I just posted a seperate thread noting that I've tried different ways to get my phone back up. I can not either. Subscribing looking for a fix.
I only downloaded the debloated version, not the full version for EP1Q, unable to try that fix at the moment.

ive tried it. bootloops. odin back to ee4. tried it. bootloops. odin to leak EP1F. tried it. now CWR doesnt load up and theres a whole ish bout sd card not found. and yes ive data wipe multiple times. did it all for giggles and kicks to cover all bases just so you know. anyhow. back to stable ee4 for me.

Does the EP1Q leak have changes to the radio as well?

when did u reboot?

Flash the EC05 Modem From CWM Regardless of modem(Broke)

Just run this zip..
EB13, DI18, DK28.. any other modem.. even flash over EC05 doesnt matter...
uses redbend_ua to restore the modem.bin that odin would flash..
****Doesnt Work, Only Leaving the Link up so you can see what I was trying to accomplish if you are so inclined...****
http://www.multiupload.com/9B298RDUM9
DK28
I just tried it and my modem is still DK28.
When updating it also showed enormous blue letters going off screen and then went back to the regular CWM printout. It said success, but still got DK28.
Suggestions?
the blue letters are normal thats what it does... but I dont see how you are still on a dk28 modem..
i see the problem give me a second to reupload, looks like i packaged the wrong modem.bin, that one has a lot of junk in it...
http://www.multiupload.com/AEEQ6VBBQ2
try that one, its the correct modem... sorry about that
The filesize certainly looks better for a full modem but alas,.. after flashing still on DK28.
I'm thinking of flashing a stock DI18 and just flashing upward from there
Urghhh
I flashed the full stock DI18 deodexed rom from:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=797090
And the install aborted when trying to update the modem to DI18 saying:
"script aborted (no error message) E:Error in /sdcard/stock.di18.deodexed.updatev3.signed.zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted"
I was assuming I could use this method to get rid of DK28 but,.. apparently not
/*edit: tried another ROM I found also DI18: also no go since CWM now needs edify scripts and this rom uses Amend scripting */
Ok i think i have it now, i just needed a modem_delta, reuploading...
Figured I'd chime in here...
From my experience, flashing bml12 doesn't change the baseband... no one knows exactly why. I've tried numerous times with both redbend_ua and bmlwrite to no avail.
I've attempted it recently with combo flashing modem.bin and the modem_delta.bin, also without success.
If you can make it happen, then I'll tip my hat to ya.
Sent from my SPH-D700 using Tapatalk
I converted a DI18 rom (Epic_Experience_v1.2.09.zip) from Amend to edify and CWM did flash it. Now however Im stuck at the boot screen. No doubt because this rom does not support ext4.
Thus I need a full rom which is not DK28 which supports ext4.
Using Odin and also OneClickRoot doesnt work because ever since DK28 was flashed the USB has been broken. Multiple people reported this problem with DK28. So I'm glad for that amend2edify tool. Now to find a good rom....
well its technically a combination of redband_ua for the modem.bin and write_firmware_image for the modem_delta.bin
This is what I need right now, but the links are all busted. No joy.
This ROM will supposedly flash you back to RFS & an older CWM
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=909384
The idea being that I can then boot a RFS based ROM....
However I'm still stuck at the boot screen after flashing this
it would probably support ext4 if you flashed a kernel

Link is busted because it ran into some problems, but I got it figured out finally and I'm reuploading..

Still stuck,.. trying the reformating rom from DRockstar again after a factory reset.
It wont budge beyond "Mounting /data as rfs..." one time,.. reboot,.. CWM makes it ext4 again,.. try again,... now it completes the flash. But it still wont boot with the ReRFS ROM. *cry*
- I cant downgrade CWM because I dont have USB
- I cant use Odin because I dont have USB
- I tried flashing DI18 stock rom,.. wont boot
- I tried flashing DI18 custom rom,.. wont boot
- I tried flashing ReRFS,.. wont boot
- I tried flashing various modem update scripts,.. they refuse
- I tried flashing back Bonsai 4.x,.. error's on modem check even though supposedly I still have DK28 which is what that Bonsai version worked with before
I'll try CM7 Alpha1 since they said it works with any modem and both RFS and ext4

[Q] Can't mount SD card in CWM?

I've searched........extensively.
I've spent hours here with my end goal being to go from EE4 stock to EE4 rooted with Voodoo lagfix (imnuts). When I got the phone originally I had rooted ED1 using the gingersnap method, from there I OTA'ed to EE4, losing root.
Tonight i've ODIN'ed CWM, then flashed voodoo lagfix via CWM. Everything went great, the only problem being that I couldn't get root access for apps, but verified that lagfix was enabled using the Quadrant benchmark app. I'm guessing it was an SU issue. After trying a few suggestions from the board and still being in the same position, I flashed the stock EE4 ROM zip via CWM posted by imnuts, with the idea that i'd re-try the process from the beginning. Everything still great. Reflashed CWM via ODIN, and that worked with no problem. But the problem i'm having is that when I attempt to reflash the Voodoo lagfix zip via CWM, it says that it can't mount the SD card. The SD card is perfectly readable when the phone is booted into the OS. Even manually mounting the SD in CWM yields nothing. I've tried reflashing CWM 3 times, flashes fine, but still getting the SD card mounting error. I could technically stay on EE4 stock, but i'd really like to have root access.
Any assistance anyone could offer would be greatly appreciated.
I forgot to add, if I boot into CWM directly after flashing it, it works, but if I boot the phone into the OS, then attempt to power off and boot into CWM, it boots into the blue Samsung recovery screen. Every time.
I spoke too soon, I guess I hadn't actually tried everything. In any case, if anyone else ever has the problem, the fix went like this:
Flash back to stockrootedED1-20110517.tar.md5 via ODIN > OTA to EE4 > Flash CWM via ODIN > Flash PBJ Voodoo lagfix via CWM and end up at EE4 with root access and a very stealthy Voodoo lagfix kernal (thanks imnuts!).
If anyone is inclined to answer though, there is one question...is it wise to avoid the update that Market is now telling me I need for Superuser? Or is it ok to install said update? TIA

Go ahead and update. No problems with me when I did.
Never hurts to have a TiBu backup of your apps before updating, just in case...

possible brick

tried to flash ep1q and now no matter what i flash, it boots to the android recovery(blue) and nothing works... cant flash from there, if i reboot it just goes back to the recovery, can someone please help me get back to working order?
Have you tried flashing the latest cwmr? My first EP1Q did this, I started back with ED1, to EP1H, to EP1Q, then flashed the latest recovery. Make sure you uncheck "Auto Reboot" in Odin.

Yes. A bootup file was forgotten in EP1Q. Flash EP1F/H, then EP1Q. THROUGH ODIN.

Flashed TBH's EP3HA. Worked for 24 hours. Now bootlooping and I have a question.

First, I'm already pretty certain I'm going to have to reflash EP3HA, but I have a question I'm hoping to get answered.
So last night I flashed TBH's EP3HA. I was previously on a stock, rooted EE4 with the PB&J lagfix kernel. I didn't even think about the lagfix because I figured since I was going to Odin EP3HA I didn't need to turn the lagfix off. The phone has been working fine for 24 hours but today I restarted it and now I'm in a boot loop.
Could the Voodoo lagfix be the reason I'm boot looping? I totally forgot to use TB too so I'm going to have to re-download everything I don't want to have to do this over and over again.
Thanks.
Yes your issue is going to be that you were using a froyo kernel with a gingerbread ROM. If I was you I would flash the charge Pit file and stock ee4 ROM then boot up and flash your gingerbread rom and or kernel.. You can find those files on the thread how to fix your phone.. You may be able to just flash back to the ee4 ROM leaving your Kernel in tact as well

Thanks for the quick reply. I already had the ED1 downloaded. So I just reflashed that with the PIT file. So now I'll reflash EP3HA and I'm thinking that will fix it.
By the way. I actually wasn't using the PBJ kernel with EP3HA. I just used the kernel that came with it.
Yep you got it... Make sure if you want the lagfix back to flash an updated kernel after getting your ep3h loaded. I'm running imo 3.1.0 with good results

Can't complete new (stock) firmware upgrade

Is any one having a problem with downloading the new firmware using kies mini?
I am able to download all the binaries, my computer goes to the install progress screen, and my phone goes to download, but there is never any progress on the install screen, and after 5 minutes or so, Kies states that the download fails. I also tried the emergency firmware recovery. It does the same thing.
Everything is stock and locked.

After I flashed the KD1 Deodexed ROM the upgrade worked great! Here's the link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1063696
Get to stock KD1 first then try again.
I'm seeing the same thing, and I am running stock KD1, other than the fact that it is rooted and has CWM recovery.
Ideas?
Mine bootlooped after the upgrade, and I tried to flash stock kd1 3 times and I finally had to wipe user data and cache before it finally took and then I was able to update via kies
In CWM do a factory reset, wipe cache, wipe Dalvik in advanced menu, and Go into the voodoo menu > Disable lagfix and /system lagfix off. Reboot and let linda deconvert the file system. Save any personal files off your SSD card and format it. Then try the update again.

How do you delete data and cache? Does this mean all the apps that remember some state will lose it?
Specifically, after the binary download completes I get the error screen from Kies immediately and then a second or 2 later the download screen comes up on the phone, and it stays there until I reboot.
you wipe it in recovery, and you will lose everything but whats on your sd card. pretty much it will be like new state.
I went through the same process and it almost hard brick my phone, it wouldn't turn on or anything for 10 minutes. I had to downgrade to stock KB5 then upgrade using Kies.
This is the rom I flash with prior to upgrading through Kies.

I was also having issues upgrading ith Kies. I was hoping to find a stock KJ6 and flash with ODIN and I did on Piratebay, with instuctions on how to flash and root with Odin.
I have successfully upgraded to GB. Coming from Stock Froyo, rooted.
Having the SGS 4G upgraded to GB is an amazing experience.
Performance increased dramatically, Battery life is ridiculously better (26 hrs unplugged with auto sync on, and battery stats actually work now) lots of polish to TW, but I don't think its 4.0
Heres the link to the torrent. For anyone having issue, this is a great solution.
thepiratebay.org/torrent/6814104/Samsung_Galaxy_S_4G_Gingerbread_2.3.6_[KJ6]_Update_and_Root
I'm looking forward to custom ROM! Thanks XDA Members!
Piratebay link blah... Don't flash stock, unless you really like not having a rooted phone. If you want the new official GB, I recomend flashing http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1351783 or http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1323973 both of which are based on the new GB release.
If you can't get Kies Mini to work, you can always flash the update manually with Odin.
Here is the official update that can be flashed with Odin (you do have to extract first, so you'll need WinRar or 7-zip)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1353176
This is assuming you are familiar with Odin... If not, here is a guide, or repost with questions. Good luck!
