[Q] Modern Combat 2 - Samsung Infuse 4G

I have heard many people in this forum mention that they are playing Modern Combat 2 on their infuse but when i try to install it it says my device isnt compatible. I purchased it from the market and have tried running it on CM7 and MIUI. Can someone who has been able to play it on their infuse please tell if there is something i need to do to get this thing to run?
Thanks in advance!

Do you have your ro.sf.lcd_density set to any value other than 240 in your build.prop file?

On MIUI and CM7 Modern Combat 2 does not work. Try GSInfuse that is far better. I used to think that MIUI and CM7 were good but to tell the truth they lag a LOT and are secretly unstable. Modern Combat 2 nor any Gameloft game will work if u have MIUI or CM7. And even if they do...it will lag a lot. My fps on MIUI when rendering complex opengl scenes such as the ones in MC2 is at max 30. On any other ROM im always maxed out at 57 and never go below 40. That goes to say...for a gamer...stay away from MIUI and CM7 for now. Lag is something i cant stand but MIUI was my favourite ROM. I want it again but with the normal android features and its awesome theming. Thats really all its good at. Theming

I'm using the j2 leak and it works fine. Also used infused 2.2.3

have you tried putting your phone into airplane mode and then activiting wifi and then DL'ing and installing the game that way? I did and it worked from me. Ive got both modern combats. both N.O.V.A's, Burnout 6, splinter cell, hawx, rainbow 6, BIA 2, need for speed shift, and GT racer, spiderman, and dungeon hunter and dungeon defender. All work perfectly on the inuse (infused 2.2.3).
And if you download chainfire 3D and the plugins you can even get both Deadspace 1 and 2 work! this Phone can kick some ass when it comes to gaming

Not true. I am running the latest version of MIUI and I have several gameloft games that play excellent. Modern combat 2, backstab, shadow guardian, splinter cell, and others. Absolutely no lag.

Chainfire 3d app breaks gingerbread KH2

Warning: Installing driver in Chainfire 3d app may break gingerbread KH2. I tried installing it and got into an endless reboot, couldn't recover, had to go through the entire reinstallation process. I haven't tried to test it a second time!
I had that happen on froyo, sometimes it just doesn't go well. Reflash and try again. I'm on kh2 and running the chainfire driver with the powerv Plugin, so it certainly does work.

What is this app supposed to do? Aside from the "night mode", which makes the phone difficult to read, I haven't noticed any difference running it.

You can load special drivers so you can play games like the Tegra 2 only games and Qualcomm games like Bruce Lee.
Are the games any good? The games I've seen for android to date are on the level of old Atari games.

Uh look into gameloft, polarbit and other developers. I mostly only like fully 3d games that are using the GPU. There are tons of games with "advanced" graphics. Most games you don't even need chainfire for.

[MOD] Graphics Performance BOOOST

Hey,
So i was running quadrant on my friends phone the other day (Xpera X10 ,adreno 200 GPU ).So you all know the planet test right . Our device
scores like 10fps .The xperia x10 was doing like 45 fps .
So now the fix is here.
Go to /system/lib/egl
There you will find a file called libGlES_android.so.
Just move that file from that folder to another place.
Best thing is to create a backup folder inside that place.
Now run the quadrant test you should see much higher fps in the last 2 tests.
1-2 fps increase is there in the first 2 tests
Explanation
It turns out the quadrant standard was using a feature of OpenGL which was not properly supported or implmented in the PowerVR drivers
So it was using software rendering(i.e the CPU instead of the GPU).
Have fun
It can work for other games maybe i dont know.
If you any of you find that it affects other Games post here i will update the list
List of Affected Games/Benchmarks
1>Quadrant - Planets/DNA Test
2>Roboto Game.
3>sygic
4> Raging Thunder
5> Asphalt 6 adrenaline
7>NOVA
9>Fruit Ninja
and Many more
People are seeing an increase in performance in 3d Apps in general
Thanks and Regards,
Gana
Awesome! I was thinking along the exact same lines, but I thought that it was a fsp capping limit, since the fps was very consistent in some of the tests! Good to know that it is not a device-wide limitation and that it is just software rendering instead of hardware rendering. I know a 1-2 fps increase seems insignificant, but that starts me thinking about what other limitations may have been placed, or improper instructions used.
Will try it out and see what happens!
Thanks again!
lol i get 60 fps now.testing several times for best score will post soon.
well no score improvement still getting 2450 max witch is confusing since number of fps in 6 times higher.
will try this asap
Awesome!!! I did this and my phone is getting a lot more of fsp in Quadrant.
I will test some games...
Thanks!!!

really great fix! thanks dude , and i confirm graphic boost in games as well, i had this game called Roboto, before it used to lag alot but now runs really smooth!
Quadrant fps increased, but score does not. Fruit Ninja works fine and so is Raging Thunder 2. Texture is fine in planet run, used to have clipping issue.

I am just thinking samsung just launched this phone to fulfill gap of this price range without make any efforts to make it near perfect.

OCed to 1.4-1.5(1.4 is more stable), V6 Supercharged to 512Hp Aggressive, 420mb Internal storage, and Apps2SD (I have a 32GB).
Also I couldn't live with only 3 games.

Gpu overclock

Is it possible to increase our galaxy R gpu clock from present 300MHz to higher frequency without tegra 2 drivers?
Sent from my GT-I9103 using Tapatalk 2
There is the Cranium kernel that OC's GPU to 400 MHz but it's old and bugged (WiFi freezes phone).
why you want to over clock GPU, all the games work fine with present one....
Actually I just got Temple Run Brave today and it's pretty choppy at times. Same with Asphalt 6 HD - some framedrops.

Temple run and asphalt both run flawlessly for me. Even on stock kernel with on oc.

Temple run Brave got hanged on my galaxy R .I had to restart my phone and when opened temple run Brave again,I had lost my coins and all achievements. In store it was showing 0.
And when I was playing this game yesterday while mobile was charging, cpu temperature had gone upto 55°C.
Is this game bug or cpu problem?
Has anybody experienced similar problems?
Sent from my GT-I9103 using Tapatalk 2
Yes, that's what I'm saying, some games, like the new Temple Run Brave aren't all-time-smooth. On the other hand, the original Temple Run is 100% OK, but still doesn't seem as fast as on slightly higher end devices like SGSII or Prada 3. Does anyone have an explanation to this ?
I overclocked my cpu to 1300MHZ and temperature rose to 55°c and it finally hanged.
It is happening to temple run brave only,on other hand, all other games
works flaw lessly.
I do think ,this is game bug . and in market reviews, even sgs2 and galaxy nexus reported the same type of bug.

Play GTA III with less lag

Hi everyone this thread is made to tell you how to play GTA III with less lag first at all you must be on gingerbread on bml with Antox latest kernel ( I have tested on: Valhalla Black, Barebone, SCOM and ICBIN and it give the same result, except Valhalla Black and SCOM that it seems to be more faster )
Now you must go to setcpu and overclocked with max. 1400mhz and min. 1400mhz, and put the governor in ondemand and I/O scheduler in deadline, then go to the governors settings and chance the up threshold to 80 ( I know I know that these settings arent "baterry friendly" lol but its just when you are playing games like GTA III)
And finally go to the GTA 3 app and in settings, display put the settings as the attachment and... voilà you have the fastest non supported gta in all the wild west! (if you have any problems pm me)
HIT THANKS IF I HELPED!!!
Have you tried chainfire3d and play with texture and size?

Try using different settings in the chainfire3d opengl settings. Reduce texture size, unroll texture, and reduce texture size. Play with those 3 options hopefully 1 will work for you. There is a post in the that is posted with different video plugins for different THD games.

Also I got gta3 to run just fine on ICS Paranoid Hybrid Rom. The kernel it has will not oc. The only thing with that is you would need to turn off your auto sync and free up some memory. Also turn down the graphics settings to about somewhere in the teens like 15% is a good starting point.
