I had problem with adfree in the past, so i wrote this app.
I think they works in the same way
Sure you may have done a good job but..
any developer is free to decide about putting ads, it's a way to be rewarded for the efforts and the time spent. If you don't want ads you should get ads-free apps instead of using or achieve ads-blockers.
This kind of stuff will force many developers in publish more paid apps.
Just my opinion..
Will try this app. Thanks.

I understand exactly your point of view...
I don't like so much all these applications with ads inside it, I think that it's very annoying, this is the reason why i buy all the applications i really need!
I made this app because maybe someone wants to remove ads from apps.
This is my opinion!

It doesn't work on my phone.
I have a Huawei Ideos U8150
I've never had a problem with adfree by bigtincan. But sometimes ads slip by. I will give this a try.

Even if I didn't have ads blocked I never once clicked one. I do understand why app have them, but rather their there or not, I don't click them. I am sure many others don't as well. And people who root their devices, which is like 5% at best, are the only ones who can block ads anyways. And if I like or use an app I usually by the full app for all functions.

Exactly! and sometimes the ads are everywhere in a webpage!
Need root,yes?
I hate ads on my mobile! even i use a free version, on some apps (like angry birds) causes freeze and it makes impossible play.
So i don't believe that this app does something bad to the app-makers...

Hello!
I first released this app on XDA when I started developing android apps and received some really helpful inputs from community. Now, after a gap of almost 3 years, I am reviving this app with a new vision in mind! It has been written again from scratch.
To ensure existing features don't break (and flex some coding muscles), I have kept the features almost the same and rather focused on UI (material design), performance boost, etc.

In terms of features, as of now the app allows you to:
1. Shorten links using Goo.gl (more will be added soon)
2. "Always On" mode to check all URL's you access (from outside the web browser).
3. Extract (or decrypt) short URL's.
Tip: To turn on "Always On" mode select URL Ripper as your default URL manager (the links will still open in web browser of your choice). This basically allows the app to scan URL's you are visiting from outside the web browser. You can also see the extracted/decrypted link in a dialog box (under Settings)!
Currently URL Ripper supports almost all the link shortening services including popular ones like Goo.gl, Bit.ly, Is.gd, Ow.ly, Tinyurl, Y.ahoo.it, YouTube, etc. Ad-based services like adfly aren't supported.
Link to Play Store - URL Ripper (Google Play Store)
Direct Download Link (Apk - Same as store version) - Version 3.0
I would appreciate if XDA community could again chip in and share their feedback
Thanks in advance!

Mostly it is just an android wrapper for longurl.org. Demand wasn't quite there and I didn't get any real feedback, so I kinda stopped caring for it. There is one bug I wanted to fix, but I didn't get around to do it yet.

Yeah, saw that in app description. I have a different variation planned though. More of a "complete" solution with caching, sharing, etc. But then again, all of it depends on how well is it accepted and used. Also, just a thought, I didn't want to rely on a single service for link expansion. The service dies and app dies, I don't want this to happen P.S: No pun intended. Just my 2 cents.
On a side note, I do like the url catching mechanism from other application

I absolutely agree. It was just a matter of comfort for me. I didn't want to write queries for all those shortening services API. Especially since some of the smaller ones might not even have an API. Or are you making the request and checking where the return url is leading?
Sharing was a feature I had in mind as well, but I didn't get to it.
If you find something you like, feel free to use it and if you think the source code might help, I will gladly send it to you / share the repo.

You're right. The less popular one's don't have an api or even if they do, the response time is wayward. As of now reliance is on api but I have seen header request works equally well.
Thanks for the offer. I'll keep in mind. Shall ping you if need be Appreciate your offer.

That, and ads need network access as well.
Make a paid version then. Im tired of every app requesting full network access. Its completely unnecessary. At what point did we as a community accept this as the norm?
I would rather you release a free version with less functionality then a free version with ads that requires full internet access. If the app turns out to be usefull then charge a buck or two and people will gladly pay, myself included.

It is simple, as much you want to believe people can make money on android without ads, you are mistaken. Regardless of how well the app is, people are still not going to pay for it. If you find my app doing something it shouldn't, then report it. Thank you for at least looking at the app. I am sorry that it just for you. Is there anything else I could do to appease without removing the ads? There are only two ways to make money on android, people paying for them, and people using ads. Sadly, more money is still made on ads and not enough is made in paid versions. My app doesn't use the internet unless its the free version for ads. I can't thank you enough for the response. Have a great day.
I will think about what you have suggested and maybe I will remove ads and add in more pro functions. Anything you have in mind that would make this better then?

thanks for a very useful app. Note that it does not show on the play store, even when I search the store for 'fearch'. There is another app called fearch that appears to be something completely different.
in any case, I was able to download the apk and install it. but the link to the pro version launches the play store with an 'item not found' message.

We all know Tibu, Rom Toolbox, Nandroid Manager, Tasker, etc. Long story short, my Google Play balance expires in a week, and it got me to thinking. There's nothing I really need that I don't have.. or is there? What are some of your go-to apps, whether they be apps or Xposed modules, that don't have millions of downloads and make everyone's list? I personally use Unbounce, a free Xposed module to regulate wakelocks with a donation that unlocks premium features. Be them paid or free apps, I'm curious as to what I, and likely a good chunk of the XDA community might be missing out on. What are some lesser known apps you guys use that deserve some attention?

Anyway before this gets too off topic may I also suggest All cast by the devs of CWM, also plex is good if you have a plex media server.
(These are daily apps if you have a chromecast or other streamer device)
Don't have Chromecast, but Plex looks interesting. Loving this XDA One app though, so much faster... and for an alpha, wow.
I don't know if the paid versions of super user app gives you anything your interested in but it's an option also I paid for a build prop editor just in case and love it

Ads are very disturbing, the come time to time and distracts the process we are doing. I was having a problem with it. But, today my problem is solved. Thanks for the information.
Hi,
I just discovered your app and it looked interesting so I thought I'd give it a trial run. I previously had been using the personal dns filter app which seemed to function pretty well.

Hi,
Of course this comment is SOLEY just my own comment, but for me I would like your app much better if upon booting up my phone that I wouldn't have to view the app start screen everytime. This is what I would classify as 'constructive criticism', & nothing more, I'm NOT trying to be rude in any way !
Thanks,
David

Thanks for your 'constructive criticism'. The Android os requires it (apps should appear on the screen before starting protection services).

Hi,
While I do of course appreciate your response, while I was using the previous app that I was using (Personal DNS Filter) I never had to see a starting page like your app always displays, it just booted up & displayed the shield emblem & key symbol up on my notification bar.

Thank you so much, we will try to fix it in next release.
Great app.
It lacks the ability to customize the filters and the option to let some programs access the internet without filtering (useful to see ads in games).
There is already another program with the same name (adlock.com).

Ok, we will add "adblock switch off" to firewall. Thanks for your comment. A customizes filters is a difficult opportunity for most people imho..

Hi,
At least for me it makes a HUGE difference to have positive communication between a user & the developer of an app. That's what you have been providing & I'm grateful for that, on a positive note about the app, when I open the twitch app on my phone while using your app it displays the elements within twitch a lot faster than it does than with the previous app I had been using.
Excellent now I will try it. Can you add the option to block a whole group of applications at once? thanks

So sorry to hear that, I've known for a while that google play store isn't as safe as everyone thinks that it is. I don't know if you might be interested or not, but have you heard of this play store alternative ? https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...fficial-oss-play-store-client-may-16.3739733/

The way I see things in life, when people help you, you try to help them as well.
The app has been renamed to AdLocker on the complaint of the copyright holder. I am sorry that we used your trademark!!!!
Hi,
Do you have any idea when the new server will be functioning, you mentioned that to me in a email message.
