Hi,
I just discovered your app and it looked interesting so I thought I'd give it a trial run. I previously had been using the personal dns filter app which seemed to function pretty well.

Hi,
Of course this comment is SOLEY just my own comment, but for me I would like your app much better if upon booting up my phone that I wouldn't have to view the app start screen everytime. This is what I would classify as 'constructive criticism', & nothing more, I'm NOT trying to be rude in any way !
Thanks,

Thanks for your 'constructive criticism'. The Android os requires it (apps should appear on the screen before starting protection services).

Thank you so much, we will try to fix it in next release.
Great app.
It lacks the ability to customize the filters and the option to let some programs access the internet without filtering (useful to see ads in games).
There is already another program with the same name (adlock.com).

Hi,
At least for me it makes a HUGE difference to have positive communication between a user & the developer of an app. That's what you have been providing & I'm grateful for that, on a positive note about the app, when I open the twitch app on my phone while using your app it displays the elements within twitch a lot faster than it does than with the previous app I had been using.
Excellent now I will try it. Can you add the option to block a whole group of applications at once? thanks

Harness the power of your Android device and get automated!
MacroDroid provides an advanced set of automation features but focuses heavily on usability with a simple, easy to use UI and logical step by step process.
It's available for free on Google Play: play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.arlosoft.macrodroid
The free version allows you to create 5 macros with a single action/constraint on each. To support further development I also offer a Pro version available as in-app purchase which allows unlimited macros and unlimited actions/constraints per macro.
User forums can be accessed via the website at: www.macrodroid.com
All feedback and comments greatly appreciated!

Hi,
When you guys say its not compatible do you mean it won't let you download from Google Play?
I have loads of Galaxy S4 users and CM users, so I'm not sure why you are experiencing this issue. If you can give me any more information I'll try and sort it!

WiFi scanning with WiFi off
GREAT app!
Would it be possible to trigger "WiFi SSID Transition" events when WiFi is off with Android 4.3's "scanning always availible" feature? That would be really nice (e.g. only turning WiFi on if a specific SSID is available)
It should certainly be possible. I'll add it to my longish TODO list and it will probably rise up the priority as 4.3 takeup becomes more widespread.
Thanks for the suggestion.

Hi! Very nice app! I played with it just a few minutes, but the list of triggers/actions is impressive! Thank you for sharing your work with us.
If i'm allowed to, I have a suggestion: what about allowing the user to execut a shell script (.sh) on a trigger? Maybe it could be useful for advanced users and low level actions.
Have a nice day.

You should be able to do this with the Launch Shortcut action using a third party app such as Secure Settings. It would certainly be nice for advanced users to be able to do it directly from MacroDroid so I'll add it to the TODO list.

Ah ok that makes sense, I've not tested on a device without Google Play installed as I've never before made the apk available via any other means. I'm guessing there is some dependency due to all the in-app purchase stuff that prevents it working. I'll try and look into it and see if there is any easy way to get over this.
Cheers,
Jamie
Hi all,
Just a gentle reminder that if you like the app, could you please take a few moments to leave a rating on Google Play. It really helps me out a lot and its very hard to maintain a high rating because people are only to quick to leave a bad review if they hit a problem or don't like something.
If you do hit problems then please let me know before leaving a 1 star as I will always do everything I can to resolve any issues.
Many thanks,
Jamie
Done!

CPU Limit Reached
Hello!
I first released this app on XDA when I started developing android apps and received some really helpful inputs from community. Now, after a gap of almost 3 years, I am reviving this app with a new vision in mind! It has been written again from scratch.
To ensure existing features don't break (and flex some coding muscles), I have kept the features almost the same and rather focused on UI (material design), performance boost, etc.

In terms of features, as of now the app allows you to:
1. Shorten links using Goo.gl (more will be added soon)
2. "Always On" mode to check all URL's you access (from outside the web browser).
3. Extract (or decrypt) short URL's.
Tip: To turn on "Always On" mode select URL Ripper as your default URL manager (the links will still open in web browser of your choice). This basically allows the app to scan URL's you are visiting from outside the web browser. You can also see the extracted/decrypted link in a dialog box (under Settings)!
Currently URL Ripper supports almost all the link shortening services including popular ones like Goo.gl, Bit.ly, Is.gd, Ow.ly, Tinyurl, Y.ahoo.it, YouTube, etc. Ad-based services like adfly aren't supported.
Link to Play Store - URL Ripper (Google Play Store)
Direct Download Link (Apk - Same as store version) - Version 3.0
I would appreciate if XDA community could again chip in and share their feedback
Thanks in advance!

Yeah, saw that in app description. I have a different variation planned though. More of a "complete" solution with caching, sharing, etc. But then again, all of it depends on how well is it accepted and used. Also, just a thought, I didn't want to rely on a single service for link expansion. The service dies and app dies, I don't want this to happen P.S: No pun intended. Just my 2 cents.
On a side note, I do like the url catching mechanism from other application

I absolutely agree. It was just a matter of comfort for me. I didn't want to write queries for all those shortening services API. Especially since some of the smaller ones might not even have an API. Or are you making the request and checking where the return url is leading?
Sharing was a feature I had in mind as well, but I didn't get to it.
If you find something you like, feel free to use it and if you think the source code might help, I will gladly send it to you / share the repo.

You're right. The less popular one's don't have an api or even if they do, the response time is wayward. As of now reliance is on api but I have seen header request works equally well.

That, and ads need network access as well.
Make a paid version then. Im tired of every app requesting full network access. Its completely unnecessary. At what point did we as a community accept this as the norm?
I would rather you release a free version with less functionality then a free version with ads that requires full internet access. If the app turns out to be usefull then charge a buck or two and people will gladly pay, myself included.

It is simple, as much you want to believe people can make money on android without ads, you are mistaken. Regardless of how well the app is, people are still not going to pay for it. If you find my app doing something it shouldn't, then report it. Thank you for at least looking at the app. I am sorry that it just for you. Is there anything else I could do to appease without removing the ads? There are only two ways to make money on android, people paying for them, and people using ads. Sadly, more money is still made on ads and not enough is made in paid versions. My app doesn't use the internet unless its the free version for ads. I can't thank you enough for the response. Have a great day.
I will think about what you have suggested and maybe I will remove ads and add in more pro functions. Anything you have in mind that would make this better then?

Well, now, at least internet works while it's on, but i can't see it's effectiveness - websites are full of ads.
What filters are you using? At what countries it's targeted on? Too lazy to check&compare internal filter within /data/data

We use our own filter base and another open source filters, our base is targeted at the whole world. We are planning to heavily update our database soon.

I think you have a problem with the app on your device. Write a message to us in support from the app, we will look at the logs of what is happening

Just sent you message through app. It's quite dissapointing, that logs will be sent to you without user knowing about it - there's no such info, that logs will be sent automatically.

We collect an errors that may occur in the app. We do not use Firebase Crashlytics to restrict access to user data. Please read the terms of the Privacy Policy. The Privacy Policy specifies what data we collect, see link: https://adprotect.app/agreements/en/privacy.html
Try remove and install the app again to solve this problem.

i found a similar problem as yours, see here:
https://www.reddit.com/r/AndroidQuestions/comments/mlituo
An user complains that vpn app doesn't work after rooting and installing Magisk app.
I think that some system apps (such as if the one responsible for VPNs) can be removed after rooting and the magisk app installation.

With WebApp you can have fully isolated enviroments for your web apps with isolated sessions wich Chrome dosn't allow you to do.
Also the WebApp support ads blocking, wich is also not available for Chrome
Wow, COOL

Yes, we do have this in our roadmap, this is quite complex topic, but sure we will introduce this soon.
Thank you for your feedback.
How do you guys think about VPN functionality in the app?
Is this something you really want to see in the app?
Yes, can we use them without wifi ?

That would only apply to some that do not have access to or already subscribed to such services.
I mean play games only.

Good idea.
But i would rather have a way to remove all types of tracking first. Preferably a one time payment. Your privacy policy is a bit concerning.

No worries about that, we just started with this app, and the policy was just generated with some basic information. We are using mostly open-source components, and we don't track anything. Furthermore, by default, we block any tracking attempts from any website running through this app.
The app has just started, and I'm trying to figure out what features would be good for it. Thank you for your feedback
