The battery is charged only up to 70-74% and 60% slow.
Calibration, the new battery, firmware did not help. What is it?

Have you tried simply emptying it, then deleting battery stats in CWM?

yes. Does not help

Hmmm. No idea then :\
How you doin'? Greetings from my GT-I9000!

there was always this problem?

try with root explorer:data/system and delete batterystats.bin
if it does not work well even so it means that you have a not original battery

Same thing happened to me. They told me that the battery charging circuit was damaged. Send it to service and replaced it. I dont think this is a software related problem.

A friend had this problem too. Samsung service in Germany fixed it for free.

If you have any gingerbread rom running there, you may be suffering from a known bug (i did). Phone draws power from battery instead of charger after reaching 100%. If that's the case, either go back to a froyo rom or use one that's not Samsung based, like cyanogen. I'd take cyanogenmod 7 stable, if that's the case.

Battery must be recalibrated on each rom update?

Hi every one,
I was wondering if there is need to recalibrate the battery on each rom update, custom and lg official releases?
Also i bought a 1900mAh battery so I think it need to calibrated for better performance?
Any advice will be great

no.
Battery calibration does not affect battery performance, it just changes the accuracy of the battery %age display. There is also no way of calibrating the battery, as it is directly read from the li-ion battery itself. Deleting the batterystats.bin Does nothing besides resetting androids About Phone>Battery Use data - which already resets itself on a full charge (And also broken on O3D GB Roms)
Its actually likely that calibrating the continually will eventually result in considerably worse battery life, as li-ion batteries are best operated between 20-80% charge.

I saw on the battery calibration app, that it must be recalibrated, since each rom has diferent files to manage power, and it will actually help the battery managment.
Thats what i know, im not an Expert.

I saw that too, on battery Calibration by NEMA it says:
calibration needs to be done after flashing a new ROM. but you calibrate.. etc. the whole message that why my initial post was about, I saw other posts saynig that it must so ill do it just in case I dont think that will do anyharm at all.
wasn´t calibration just a matter of charging till 100% when off, then remove battery, insert battery and then start phone and plug again??
i do this and my battery it's all good, although i cna't watch a video for more than 3 hrs hahahaha
It actually worked on my ZTE Blade. I believe it's called overcharging.
hi
i dont think so need callibration after each new rom!
it might harmful for battery!

[Q] Phone keeps turning off on me...

I keep having the phone turn off when I unplug it from my charger or if I don't hold the cord the right way it powers off. Now I checked the cable and the phone, the connector is fine. The other problem is I check the power level and the battery is at 100% but the moment it's unplugged it powers off again. So I replaced the battery and checked the contact pins to the battery and it's both good also.....so I am not sure what the next step is?
Can anyone please help? Also the phones never been dropped or gotten wet.
I know they keep saying that it shouldn't matter, but... might want to grab a battery calibration app or delete the battery info yourself. Alternatively, with the phone off, try to charge the battery.
Could be that the phone believes the battery is full when it's actually bone dry, and because it's disabled the charging, you're stuck whenever you aren't plugged in.
Bad battery? Is it swollen and puffy?

What app would I use for this? The phone isn't rooted so I don't think I can delete the battery data on the phone.

No, battery is good. I think the person above maybe right, if the battery is not charging because the phone is saying it's full when it's empty.

I suspect battery is bad. I just got my new OEM one from eBay for 8$.

You should try to wipe youre battery with some app, just google it, ive seen much of them.
I would suggest something like this:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nema.batterycalibration
Especially since it's free. Which beats any app with 'paid' in the internal name. But hey, if you have money to throw around, the other app does claim it knows what the real level is even without wiping it.

Okay. Here's one that says it works without root and is free. Ad supported, but how long after it's done are you going to keep the calibration app?

That is exactly the cause. On my stock battery, it got all puffy and I kept getting random reboots and extremely fast battery drains. It definately is the battery and you should get it replaced. Try out this one http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004KVTNYE/ref=oh_details_o04_s00_i00. Its really good

Thanks! That's kind of a relief, I thought it was a problem with the software. Hey would the battery you're suggesting need an extended cover to accommodate the size because I believe our native battery capacity is 1600 mAh.
Our native OEM battery came with 1650 mah. I recommend buying the same (just did in eBay for 8$) instead of some untrusted manufacturer sh$t.

I have had great results with the Epic 4G 1800 mah battery from Samsung. Fits with original back and works well.

[Q] Battery level has gone crazy

Hey all,
recently I have encountered a rather big and annoying problem on my phone. It has to do with my battery. I've looked it up on xda, but nothing was really exactly like my problem.
The problem is that my battery level has gone absolutely crazy.
First, charging my phone takes many many hours. After around 5 hours it still wasn't fully charged.
Then when rebooting the phone, it magically said 100%. However, after this the phone drained extremely fast. Think around 20 percent per hour, while using it normally!
Secondly, around 40 percent the phone automatically turned off, without the usual HTC logo. When I turn it on again the battery level is suddenly 2 %. After a few times turning off and on the battery level goes up to 30 percent. This can be seen very well on the pictures.
The phone is 1,5 years old and I haven't installed a custom ROM.
Am I dealing with a broken battery or is the problem in the software?
Hi,
I'm not an expert, but I think your battery is exhausted.
But before you run buying another battery...
What charger are you using? Stock HTC or custom? If custom, what are the Voltage/Current output values?
probably your battery is dying as the above user said
or the battery it doesn't connect properly
check it

[Q] (Q)HTC Desire S 2000mAh Battery?

Hi everyone. I'm a bit of a noob but anyway I wanted to buy the following battery from eBay: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/230803704348?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649
I was wondering if anyone has a similar battery and if they noticed any improvements over the stock 1450mAh battery
Thanks
To be honest they could write 2500mAh and atill it can be worse than the stock one. For me it looks like a risky business.

Right. I've got a problem. The extended battery won't charge and I get a warning message saying the battery is using more power than the charger can provide, I've tried with 4 different chargers and it won't charge but the stock battery is fine. If it's on it just stops charging and when it's off, I just get an orange flashing light. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Hi, I found your post simply because I ran across the exact same battery and just as you was thinking of buying it.
I was wondering if you had any luck resolving your issues with charging the battery? And if not, did you also remove the yellow tape near the electrode, as they write in the ebay add? Because to me that sounds like the kind of thing that might screw up the charging otherwise...
Cheers.

I can't remember how much I paid but it's excellent. Check the Accessories section, I made a thread there
I bought a "Polarcell" battery on ebay and have a real good experience with it. It says 1600mAh. With Jelly Bean (MIUIzero) and the new battery my phone now always runs for a whole day sometimes 1.5 days. This really surprised me because on some early JB roms and with the old battery the phone was always dead in the evening.

Reboot required for device to register FULL battery

I've tried every combo of search terms I can think of to look into this issue, but I've come up empty. I'm running Open Sensation with the stock kernel (though I doubt this is ROM related). Essentially, when I connect the phone to the charger (original HTC USB cable and charging head), the phone displays a normal, constant charge rate. But somewhere (usually upwards of 80% charged) the phone stops registering an increase in battery. It just sticks at 85%, for example. And each time, if I reboot the device - voila - the phone then recognizes the battery is 100% charged. I get great battery life, no rogue apps, no other symptoms of any kind of problem. I'm thinking of purchasing a new battery, but this one is barely a year old and it seems unrelated to the battery itself. This has happened with other devices I've used in the past, but only once in a while - and nothing a battery cycle wouldn't fix. With the Sensation - it's occurring every time I charge the phone. Now we know wiping stats doesn't actually do a thing (of course I've tried it anyway - out of habit). Has anyone seen this behavior before or have any suggestions? I'd be much obliged.
I have the exact same issue with my backup phone what is an htc legend. Genuine htc usb cable and charger and the original battery. I have tried different roms, deleting battery stats...etc. It charges until between 80% and 90% then stops/stuck. After reboot it states either 100% or 97% battery charge. I think it is just the battery itself. I assume it doesn't really matter how old the battery is, there can be faulty ones too... Try with different battery I would suggest.

Like you, my HTC legend has this problem. Apparently, it was chronic with these devices. I have tried every calibration app i can find with no success. Searching on the legend forums I discovered the root cause of this issue is a fault in the motherboard and nothing to do with battery, ROM or kernel. The symptoms OP has described with his sensation are identical to that of our legends. I can only conclude that a fault has cropped up on his motherboard where it can't read the mV of the charge to the battery and the current battery charge level correctly.
I fear, OP, a new motherboard may be your only solution.

Ohh... I've never thought about that. To be honest I never dug too deep to find a solution as I could live with that and now it is just a backup phone in case of emergency. Anyway the battery life was always suck on that phone... at least for me... With my sensation I have no issues with battery. It charges up nicely with no problem.

this it is a htc's common issue.you are right
i have the same sympton while charging the device
if i do a reboot it rises immediately from 80%(or somewhere there) at 100%
but i disagree for changing the motherboard
i don't think that OP has any issue
Thanks for the feedback. I guess a reboot will be part of my charging ritual from now on... great device otherwise.
