Hangouts problem. Not receiving messages.

I have a problem with Hangouts app. I just don't receive messages on my phone. When I text to a person he receives my message, but it doesn't work the other way around, when he texts me back nothing happens on my phone. And I do receive messages on my computer with Chrome Hangouts extention, problem exists only on my phone. Anyone experiencing similar problems?

I am having this problem too. Very annoying.

I have the exact issue on a Galaxy S (captivate). Makes the app utterly unusable. Running CyanogenMod 10.1. Hope this gets resolved :<

Same here. In my case, I receive the message if I enter the app. This is not usable! I sent yesterday night a hangout to my brother asking why is he not using hangout with me, and today morning I have seen in desktop chrome hangout that he answered: "because you are not answering"

Uninstall and reinstall fixed it fixed it for me. This was always an issue with Google plus too. These apps don't like being restored from backup

Did you disabled Google Play Services from sending data on the background? I had the same problem, changed that and Hangouts is working again.
Very annoying that Hangout and Google Play Services are using the same configuration.

Hangouts never worked for me... I dont receive messages or calls. I dont know why I have installed it

Few bugs to mention:
1- had a force close 2 minutes into the apps. Cleared data and force stop and it seems to be fine
2- tried video calling my friend and for some reason it didn't connect and I wasn't able to exit video calling.
Other than that it works fine

Anyone else notice it turns on mobile data when you are on wifi? So then you have both radios on, you have to restart phone to turn off mobile data but it comes back spoon as you get a message...dumb

They are gonna have to work on the speed takes forever to open up

Seems like a pre release imo, can't send mms, turns on 3g/4g when on wifi and won't turn it off, slow loading, FC for some, emoji don't work?

This was extracted from the factory image of the Nexus 5. I haven't had a single FC, on PA 4.3. I haven't tried MMS yet.

Anyone notice that video calls fc hangouts? Both on my Nexus 4 and 7 both rooted but stock 4.3

Yes, it's working fine for me (in Holland). Didn't encounter any problems this far. Only thing is that Handcent still handles incoming SMS-notification but think this is due to my settings.

Unable to send or receive MMS

Ever since I got the 44 update I have not been able to send or receive MMS. The app will force close I've tried them all. SMS pro, textra, default MMS, hangouts they all crash.
"Unfortunately, Messaging has crashed"
Is usually the error is get. Anyone know what I can do to fix this?

If you could upload that we'll kniw what's going on.

Well just rebooted my phone and all of a sudden I can send it. It took 10 reboots u guess lolol. Thanks for trying to help

Yes, very frustrating. My wife and I have the same phones (s5 with Lollipop). Starting Friday morning, we haven't been able to recieve SMS from each other or from 2 other family members with same phones. MMS works fine...

I guess we'll have to wait for a patch then...

I called sprint. The tech said that the upgrade messed up the connection to the network. He said the following steps will fix it when you call CS...
1) SOC google voice
2) power device off and pull battery
3) CS Agent change MSID AND NAI address
4) power phone on
5) Agent follow onscreen instructions with ## code. ..
Worked for my wife and I.

Woke up to an update waiting. Updated the profile and rebooted. Sms is working agaon

MMS issues using Google Messages on WiFi

Anyone else not able to send MMS messages or gifs when connected to WiFi using Google Messages?
I've been using Google Messages and Gboard forever on everyone I've owned but with the S8+, while connected to WiFi, messages just hang. Sent messages always say "sending" and messages sent to me show constantly as downloading. It's not until I toggle WiFi off that the messages come through.

Totally sucks. I spoke with at&t and they said they have communicated with their Samsung rep and it's a known issue.

I had a weird issue with Google Messages, when I'd send a screenshot to someone, they said it was perfectly clear. However when I was in the messages thread and clicked on the screenshot it came up very blurry. (Sprint version) The original screenshot in Gallery looked fine and it did on the device receiving the message. Kinda strange.

I use signal and haven't had any issues. You sure it's not google related?

I can't send or receive mms while on WiFi calling. Stock message app or Google s message app. Got a ticket in with t-mobile now. I've gone back to factory twice still not working.

I also have this issue. I can confirm as told by an AT&T rep on the phone that it's a known issue apparently . I was told they were looking into it, but no idea when an actual solution is coming.

Glad I'm not the only one.

Yea , all of us are in the same point. It's an issue with the phone not properly handing off the connection from WiFi to data in order to send the MMS message while you're connected to WiFi. We're all hearing from our carriers it's being investigated so let's hope a patch is due sometime soon?
