Hello,
I have a HTC 7 Pro. It has a normal 7.0.7008.0 without jailbreak or sth. else.
Zune is always telling me, that this update is the newest.
I just want do update to wp7.5 what can i do??
Have you tried the "force update" technique that's floating around?
Basically, you initiate the update check and after the check starts but before it finishes, you disconnect the network (turn off wi-fi if on wi-fi). Then, when an update is found, you reconnect the network and start the update.
Agree with LayneRobinson. Do the Force Update. Works perfectly

my thunderbolt asking to update netflix app the one that came from the lg but when i press update it wont update at all they just started to roll out gingerbread and they found a file call netflix jar on it can this be the case can some one try it out
translation:
i put the hacked netflix .apk on my rooted phone and it's prompting me to update the application. when i try to update, it won't work.
possible continued translations:
a) netflix is being updated to support gingerbread, is that why it won't update on my phone?
b) my rooted thunderbolt is upgraded to gingerbread, is that what is causing the problem?
c) can a developer hack the updated version?

It actually looks like it's running the check for the update when you either try to open or switch to the app, but it skips the check if you don't have a connection.
I put my phone in airplane mode, and turn it off. BEFORE YOUR NETWORK RECONNECTS you open up netflix. If the app spits out a message that you need an internet connection, you're in the clear. Just keep clicking retry until your connection reconnects.
This method won't work if it connects again before you go back to the app.
TLDR
Turn airplane mode on and off, and open netflix right after, and keep pressing "retry".
The easiest solution here is to replace the netflix.apk with the new version that you can find all over the internet to this directory
/system/app/
change the permissions to have the three boxes checked in the first column and only the first box in the the second column and all unchecked in the third column.
Reboot the phone and you will have the updated netflix app.
This .apk worked for me on the latest release of CM7.

Hi! I'm moving to WP7 soon, when my ordered HD7 comes home. While I wait, I was wondering if you can enable WiFi while in airplane mode.
University->Signal inhibitors -> I don't want the phone looking for signal all day draining battery, but I use Wifi.
I come from Android so I use this almost everyday.
Oh, and if you can say too, I was wondering what happens when Microsoft rolls out an update: do all the phones get updated soon or it depends on the phone maker to update or not (like Android)?
Thank you very much.
You can use wifi in airplane, but you have to turn it on manually, because after switching to airplane mode all connections are turned off.
And update is not at the same time for all WP7 phones.

Ok, thank you very much. Couldn't find any info about it. Perfect
Can you give me some light about the updates policy?
When update for your phone will be available, you'll be notified (directly by phone, unless you have turned off update checking in settings). Then you will connect the phone to the PC and Zune (you must install it on your computer) will do all the work (backup and update)
Latest official version of WP7 update you can check at WP Update History page.

Thank you very much for your fast and concrete replies. I hope I'll have a great time in this forum section from now on.
You are welcome and enjoy your new WP7 phone!
Updated my HTC radar to Windows Phone 7.8 last night.
Unfortunately, I have a small issue, luckily not a show stopper. When I looking at applications in the Market Place and swipe to the 'Related Details' screen I get a MarketPlace error message with code 80070057. Anyone else experiencing this?

Same on HTC HD7, "Related Details" it should be from the update.

I have the same problem with my HTC 7 trophy, accesing the related tab in any application produces error 80070057 (I have UK marketplace)
It didn't happen before the update to 7.8 , any ideas???
Hi guys. The error is fixed on my quantum. I didn't nothing. I think that error is the server side. Check again.

Connect the phone to your power for charging, reboot the phone, connect to your wifi (or cellural data), change lockscreen timeout to "never" , open xbox games, tap "refresh" in the menu below and leave it there for 10-15 minutes.....
It should be ok after the 15 minutes, if not, leave it for more time (1-2 hours) , it will eventually connect to the marketplace and fix itself.....
(I fixed both my phones this way!)....

Thanks it worked for me.
Only problem I observed was that for lock screen I didn't had option "never", so I set for maximum option of 5 minutes. I kept phone running with XBox Refresh. After sometime I checked Marketplace and error was gone.
I faced another issue. Marketplace was displaying updates available for few apps. But if I selected update, it was giving error again. That issue also got solved now.
Error 80070057
Same with my HTC HD 7 , middle east
Hello,
I have bought a HTC Medialink HD to show my Familie my Holiday Pictures.
The Firmware is: 5.19.100....
I read a lot if articles before evertime I read that it will be possible to present your stuf via dlna from all your devices.
Today I connected everthing and went on 192.168.3.1 and try to setup my WIFI but no way to do so, i get everytime an internal error,
I have used 2 different AP but no way.
Im also not able to use the internal AP from the MediaLink if i try to show some videos with the Wi-Fi Media App there is no device listed.
I'm not sure but it feels that my device is Broken....
I have no HTC device to test the 3 finger wipe but I'm more or less sure that this will also not work.
Is there a way to upgrade the firmware via USB?
Or did I make something wrong?

Same situation here also. I am able to connect my HTC phone using 3-finger guesture; however, whenever I try to connect my Nexus7, I get stuck at the point where I need to choose the Wi-Fi on 192.168.3.1. My Wi-Fi connection is not on the list. Even if I try to enter manually and click on "Save", it always says "Update Failed/Internal Error".
Is there any setting that must be done to the router?

Hom, seems like an Firmware Error. Any Idea were/how to get the old firmware or hack this crap...
Honestly, I guess the best would be to quickly sell this thing and get a Chromecast as soon as it is in stock again.
Will do mostly the same and is cross-compatible with your future android phone and your Chrome browser.
Plus, it's very cheap ^^

Not yet, but I guess the chances that google will sell it in Germany or at least in AT/CH are not bad.
There is even a landing page on google play DE for it:

Hope so
I picked one up from AT&T store at a very affordable price but encountered the same "internal error" issue when I tried to connect this little box with my home Wi-Fi network. After a few days of researching, a forum in Taiwan provided some workaround and here is the steps to connect your HTC Media Link HD (HMLH) to your Wi-Fi network and enjoy DLNA support as well.
1. Reset (HMLH) by pressing the reset button for more than 5 seconds
2. You must grab a phone with Sense 4.0+ (will not work with Sense 5+ or above)
3. Connect your phone with Sense 4.0+ to your local network first
4. Perform the 3 finger swipe up action from your sense page
5. Complete the set up process
6. Wait for 5 minutes then connect to the Wi-Fi network that you named during the set up process from another laptop with network password 1234567890HTC
7. Open browser and type 192.168.3.1
8. HMLH automatically picks up your home network without entering the security key
9. Exit the mirroring mode from your Sense 4+ phone by swiping 3 fingers down
10. The TV screen should show that HMLH is connected to your Wi-Fi network
ok, so here is another easy solution for the internal error with the HTC Media Link HD (DG H300)
1. Firmware version on device after update: 5.52.103.1
2. Connect device to TV
3. Press reset button on device for 5 seconds to reset
4. After reset device will show Default Name on TV screen
5. Turn on WPS config on your router, either through Router admin UI or by manually pressing WPS button (WPS = Wi-Fi Protected Setup)
6. Press once the reset button on device (you need to do this within 2minutes of pressing the WPS button on router)
7. Device will automatically go to configure screen, progress bar will indicate configuration
8. The medialink HD device will now be connected to your WiFi network through your router
I have a Pixel 2 xl that I am planning on using for my son to fly his (X-mas present) drone with, the phone has no active cell service. The drone app will not work with Android 11. Tonight when I set the drone up and did some test flights, I noticed that the phone was asking for a restart to finish upgrading to Android 11. How do I prevent the upgrade? I already went into developer options and turned off automatic system updates. I haven't tried restarting to see if it works. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance!

I think setting you mentioned in developer settings should prevent upgrade. Unless you enabled it only after receiving upgrade notification, then upgrade might happen. The good news is that you can always downgrade from Android 11 to 10 and there's plenty of time till Christmas so I would probably just restart and see what happens. If phone gets upgraded, look into Pixel 2 XDA thread about downgrade/OS flashing.
