Hi everyone my dad is going to china for an official trip.
I was thinking of getting a Chinese android tablet as they are cheap and might come handy.

I would just get a Amazon Fire for $200. Cheap and really nice for the price. Trust me, dont get a chinese tablet, they are cheap and you would waste your money. I know u dont wanna hear it, but it needs to be saod, please thank me if i helped u.

Unfortunately I decided not to order, because I looked at other reviews and many other people said that they got scammed by Chinaecarts. Also many people have mentioned that they are unable to contact their customer support at all once they have purchased(/been scammed).
Moneygram specifically say on their website not to use it to pat for items, and that it could indicate a scam.
A real shame because Chinaecarts appear to be the only seller selling this phone. I may still buy a MTK6577 device (now I'm looking at the Haipai X710d) so long as it is the best I can get in my budget of £190.
tl;dr: I wouldn't recommend buying from them.
The general rule of internet is usually, if it's too good to be true, it is. I guess that even if they would send something (which I doubt) you'll get a "fake" replica or something like that. I'm glad you decided not to order there, since it would be sad if you'd lose your money.

i'm thinking about buying a chinese gsm/dual-sim phone, but i really don't know much about them. i 've done a bit of research on them, and came across a gnex clone (MT6575, approx $150) but other than that, i have no idea what to get or even where to look. i've looked at lightinthebox.com, but would like some suggestions and/or advice. does anyone have experience with these (bootleg) things? i'm weary of buying one as i've not been able to find reviews that i trust.

I deconseil you recommend buying these Chinese GSM it will bring you that problems
so today i found a deal that best buy is having! 100 dollars off all samsung phones. and on the 10th, if u register, u will recieve a 50$ gift card which u may also use towards an upgrade. Sadly this means (even though i screwed up on the 50$ deal cause i was too early) i bought a GALAXY S III. and by sadly i mean i will no longer be contributing to the skyrocket forum! i honestly feel really bad because i feel like im abandoning everyone. i mean everyone seems to be leaving u guys!!!! i now i 2 am 1 of them... sucks only cause i feel deep inside like ive lost a good/devoted friend! :crying: i have one more helly bean update and after that im sorry guys. i no longer have this phone and i dont like to release something i havent tested first myself!

Online as well. I just got a Note 2.. in the middle of a small battle to be able to get the $50 gift card cause I ordered too early. Just like Deliberate. But because they just introduced this offer on Sunday, and the rep told me I would be able to get it when I ordered over the phone on Sunday.. I might be able to get it.
If you go online and reserve the $50 gift card then you can wait till after the tenth and order a phone.
All in all, I got the Note 2 for $150

You have to reserve the gift card before the 9th. Idk how long the $100 off thing will last. Probably just until the reservation period for the gift card is over, which is tomorrow.

AliExpress is just fine. You probably won't find the highest quality on there, but I own a lot of stuff ordered from aliexpress, because in switzerland we have limited stuff for android and it's very expensive.

I order stuff all the time from aliexpress. I own a little repair shop and we order both parts and accessories through the site. It's basically a Chinese Amazon. Tons of different vendors. Well i've been considering going back to developing for a few months, however a few things have been stopping me from doing this, but to keep it short: for now i'm going to do it as a hobby so i'm not planning on buying an expensive phone (as i don't own an android phone right now), my contract ends this week and i can get a new Moto G for around 72 euros which i consider is a great price. So here are my doubts:
Is the community good for this phone? I've wandered around its forum a few times and so far i have a good impression, but i'd really want to know the users opinions
Do you think it's worth it and i could take advantage of this phone? I personally think its a great phone for this as its pretty much stock and for what i've seen support is quite good, but i just want to make sure

Hehe, don't expect too much from me though. I'm a software engineer, but this is my first time developing for Android. I wanted to look at the code because my Moto G suffers from the dreaded RAM bug, and I have an idea what the problem could be. Hopefully I can contribute to getting it fixed
It's a great device for the price and it would be nice to have more and more developers going for it!

I dont recall mentioning donations at all, and if you knew my previous work on the Galaxy S you'd know i started without even the option to donate which i added later on after a few users asked me to do it, wouldn't have put a donation button if it wasn't for that, i don't do this for donations. I do this as a hobby because i find it fun, and it's quite satisfactory reading nice comments on work you've done (not that i have done any for the moto G yet anyway). I find it more "hilarious" you're calling a thread hilarious for such reason, if i wanted donations don't you think i'd go for a high budget phone where you could expect greater donations? The only reason i did this and i chose such phone is because i think for such price, a great base (aosp) i can learn a lot.
