I have a US Cellular LG US670 Optimus, which I have bricked. I flashed the CW Recovery for the Optimus V to see if it would work, and it does, but now I just recently learned that I cannot put a Froyo rom on my phone.
I was attempting to port CM7 to it and in my own ignorance, deleted the entire SD card (pushing buttons too fast, not cause I'm a complete moron ) deleting the backup of my stock rom.
So right now the only working thing on my phone is CW, I can put all kinds of flavors of CM7 on it, but none of them work with US Cellular. I then tried to build my own Gingerbread Rom using this guide, sites.google.com/site/teamdroidconcepts/wiki-guides/compile, which is great, but I can't seem to build the actual Rom.
I have the LG Source code for my phone and I have the GB source code. What I'm wondering is if there is anyone who could walk me through the port, or if there is a Optimus V developer that could help me port one of those Roms to the Optimus U?

Well this thread led me to being able to put Xionia on giving me the ability to flash a froyo rom, but I need a US Cellular build. So far, every other rom doesn't work, that's why I was trying to build my own.
So anyone know where I can get a rom that will work on a US Cellular Optimus U?
Not to bump an old topic, but ive got the same problem currently. Ive got the froyo files from USCC, but i cannot find a way to flash them onto my phone. Would anyone be able to assist? Thanks.

For those who are interested, I believe that LG made the base roms for the LG Optimus series available on their site. I will try to find a link, but you should be able to find it pretty handily if you can navigate their site.

Here's the link: http://www.lg.com/us/support-mobile/lg-LGUS670
At the bottom, you just follow their instructions and the tool should replace your recovery and rom with complete stock. It'll get you back to square 1 at least.

Does anyone have the appropriate files to do this? and the detailed instructions? I have done a little searching and maybe IM looking in the wrong spot... I guess IM worried about bricking my new phone any ways I would like to root it too the latest ICS. is it stable system?
Thanks
use odin 1.85 and flash cwm 5.0.2.6, then flash an ics rom from dev section, i recommend mhx superlite. More info is available in the two stickies in the android development section, ics in and a howto flash

Go to the "all in one" thread and it has all the info to root properly... They have very detailed instructions.
Just dont do anything thats NOT in the skyrocket section and a trusted source..
Just make sure you do a backup with clockwork recovery mod before you start flashing things and if you brick your phone it takes 4 easy steps to get back..
ICS is pretty stable for not even being officially released yet but still not as stable as some gingerbread roms.
---------- Post added at 07:51 AM ---------- Previous post was at 07:49 AM ----------
BTW you have the skyrocket not the normal GS2 right?? dont want to confuse the 2 because flashing a GS2 rom will brick your phone

Yes, that is the correct device for these subforums. Just read the all-in-one thread and the threads that it links to -- no matter how experienced you are it's always a good idea to read the stickies, wikis, and how-to's for a new device.

If you think that LG Flash tool is difficult
my advice to you is to stay in gingerbread because unbricking procedures, base bands..etc are flashed only with flashtool or smart flash.
---------- Post added at 05:29 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:27 PM ----------
Appart from that you haven't developed something so this thread should have been posted in general section.

Yes, i gess i´ll be with GB.
I remember when i did that to Froyo to GB it was pure luck, because i thoght it had bricked phone but instead it installed GB baseband and i still had Froyo Rom.
It was a mess.
So is there anyone from Portugal, Porto region that´s capable to upgrade my fair optimus 3d to ICS??? Please??
Thank You
Currently you aren't missing much. GB ROMs and kernels are excellent

Really ?? You think lg flash tool complex ?? You must stay in GB .
If you see lg flash tool is complex then what would you say about kernel developing and roms porting .
And if you want to use ICS you must found a baseband to work with your country. if you will bricke your device you will see lg flash tool something too easy to use .
GB costume roms and kernels is too good try them .

Hello
Finally i got courage and done all procedure of flashing tool upgrade mode and it went all good.
A few tips:
1 - after putting the phone volume up + power it was a little dificult to the computer recognize the phone, don´t worry keep trying it will recognize after a few tries;
2 - also when in lg flashing tool all set, when turn off the phone and wait 5 seconds, if the program doesn't start it´s because the port isn´t configured, you can go to control panel and configure it again to port com41 and it will start flashing automaticaly;
3 - Final, if you get download failure 333 s Red Message, donb´t worry, i waited a few more minutes and turned on the phone and it was all good.
Right now testing Darkrom International.
Cheers

I just purchased a shiny new ST26i Xperia J because I do not have the cash money to splurge. I spent a decent amount of time perusing the threads in the General section and this one as well. I see some people have worked on still incomplete ports of ClockworkMod and the TeamWin recovery systems. Without those, how would one flash a different ROM onto this device? I see a few people have attempted it, but the details are unclear as to how they got that far.
I have unlocked the bootloader and successfully exploited and tested the root on my default firmware (110.2.A.0.21), but no idea where to go from here. Apologies in advanced, I am used to that Samsung bull**** with flash recovery partitions and such, but there garbage open-source stance and their non-commitment to the community made me, even with the little dough I have, put my money on the Xperia guys who have been much more open.
Yup you will soon get cwm and twrp for your phone
Xperia is more open source than samaung

Dude...to install a rom,you must need a recovery.. It's mandatory
There are cwm recovery available for your device for sure..without cwm or twrp you wouldn't be able to install a Rom
But you can flash zip mods with an application
If you are looking for a stable recovery, I think you will have to wait..
To be precise... You don't have any other options to install roms, other than by recovery..
Although I don't own a J...
Thank You...
thank me if I helped you...Don't say it,hit the button...
I own a SXJ You can flash a ROM in SXJ after flashing CWM So, first of all you have to flash CWM .img file and then flash your ROM.zip and then again go for the stock or vengeance kernel! Best luck
Thank me if i helped!

This is xperia miro/tipo/j/e forum, go to htc one forum and post your problems there.
And besides, last post in this thread is from before almost half a year.
I just recently purchased an Alcatel One Touch Fierce and so far I would have to say the money spent on it was well worth it.
What all can be done with this model? I have yet to find much of anything on the web regarding this phone and modifying.
I rooted the phone with Kingo after having some issues with another method. Easy as 1-2-3.
UI Launcher - So far... I have changed the fonts, various UI sections, colors, transparency, and more. I added a few new Launches to give a try. such as ADW. I haven't completely setup everything yet.
Rom, Radio, CPU and more - I have modded much throughout these and so far nothing negative. I am just getting back into phones again, yea im an 'old school phone guru", so a lot of this is new to me for the fact im not entirely 100% versed on everything Android especially the filesystem's more critical files and processes. I hope to learn more.
Post your experiences with this phone, what you've done, plan to do and anything you feel might help myself and others out there using this fast little quaddie.
Awesome phone. Great for the price. I made it able to screenshot, change the CPU, and other basic stuff like that. Sadly, there isn't an official version of Clockworkmod, (trying to find an unofficial version) and there isn't any custom ROMS..... I will find a loophole, but a great phone overall.
Sent from my rooted ALCATEL ONE TOUCH Fierce running stock Kernel and ROM. Android version 2.2.2.
Alcatel One Touch Fierce - Stock Rom Anyone?
Anyone have a stock rom or can pull one for me? Carrier T-Mobile. I forgot to back mine up when I rooted.
I rooted and had an update come which installed and screwed up everything. I hard reset and I cannot get past the setup screen. I did however find some workaround and can access the file browser, music player and other apps via using googles built in search and selecting apps or phone at the bottom then searching for extensions or names etc. Was able to get to the camera too. Other than that the phone is useless unless I can get a stock rom and update.
Finally rooted but I can't find anything on web regarding ROMs or recovery etc sucks because it's a pretty good phone
