Hello, I am having issues with my ipaq 214. I am not techy so really need some help. I have had the device since 2007 and it has been great. I really like it becos I still have Pocket Esword on it as it runs on WinMo 6.The problem I have now is anytime I download the Pocket Esword on the device it works for a while then it stops responding and when you do a soft reset it goes to a hard reset and the application can't be found again. I have done this over and over again for the past month.
Someone advised getting a flash rom. Can someone help PLEASE !!!!!!!
I really need to have this resolved so that I can still use Pocket Esword and open my documents and use the media player.

OK. The story goes like this....
I recently (about 4 months ago) bought and xda II mini. Love the phone, works(ed) brilliantly. Previously owned and loved an xda II and the mini has not disappointed.
So the phone’s working fine, and I’m bored one day and am cruising through the o2 website. I see there’s a ROM upgrade for the mini (1.11.00 WWE). I download and run the software which works a treat. All was just fine for about 3 days…until last night.
After using it for a voice call I press the power button to put it into sleep mode. The phone freezes. Not thinking this is overly strange I do a soft reset. Not suspecting that all is not well I put the phone down. After about 10 mins, I notice the backlight has gone off but it hasn’t gone to sleep. Strange. I touch the screen. Frozen. A couple more soft resets later I realise that once the backlight goes off OR I press the power button, the phone freezes. So I do a hard reset. Same thing. Uh oh.
I decide to run the ROM upgrade software again hoping this will rectify the problem. It gets worse. There’s no ExtROM on the phone. Now I’m at a loss. What’s gone wrong? What did I do? Why isn’t the ExtROM being installed?
Can anyone please help me install a clean 2003SE WWE for an o2 mini on Optus in Australia, or am I up the proverbial? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. I’m not keen on sending it to Queensland for repairs.

IMATE JAM is DEAD, does not boot....
I also have a similar problem, the story goes like -
My IMATE JAM was going perfectly fine, it also had the latest WWE ROM, no issues. Now for some reason, I download from www.pocketgear.com and install the trial version of "Pocket Mechanic" which also installs "Pocket Hack Master 2005". While trying out Pocket Mechanic, I use something called "registry cleaner" which is supposed to cleanup any incorrect/unused registry entries. After this I try "Pocket Hack Master 2005" which is a software to test the CPU speeds. As soon as I run this program, the screen freezes and my phone is dead. I try and reboot the device, but it is stuck at the blue boot-up screen. I am unsure whether my PPC died because of registry cleanup or because of "Pocket Hack Master 2005" software.
Anyways, now, I decide to re-install the WWE 1.12 ROM and start using the device. But, no luck, on the PPC - the blue boot-up screen does not go away and on the installer screen - "Checking information on your device... Please wait...." and is stuck.
I think the device is not booting up and hence is being not recognised by the PC as a USB device.
Please help... I am dead...!!!!

Well, in case anyone's interested. It appears the phone is back to normal. I trawled and trawled through this site and picked up tidbits of information on how to upgrade a ROM. I downloaded 1.12 and tried installing that which worked as badly as everything else I tried.
I decided to install the Asia shipped ROM (1.11), the instigator of all this mess, but via NemesisDE's method on page 4 of the sticky, instead of running the .exe file as per usual. For some reason, it appears to have taken it!!!
Yes, I'm excited. Even though no-one responded to my post, I got the info I needed from this site. Thanks so much to everyone who contributes here. You'd be surprised how some seemingly ridiculous things, help novices like me.

While working on my PPC this weekend, I noticed that the system froze while just trying to open NYDITOT Virtual Display.
I tried doing a soft reset and after doing so the system freezes at the "Welcome to T-Mobile" bootup screen and it does not go into the OS (windows Mobile 2003 "Non-SE")
I tried pushing the soft reset button with the device OFF, without the battery, without the sim card, and nothing seems to work.
I cant even re-load the original ROM as Active Synch doesnt see the device due that I dont get into the OS.
Now luckely for me, T-mobile advised that i only had a 3 month warranty with them, which of course "expired" so i was hoping someone could suggest something that might help me resolve this problem.
Any help will be greatly appriciated.

i have been using treo 750v for about 3 weeks, I updated it with the wm6 rom provided by vodafone on the first day I got the device, it works at first quite smooth, in the first week I haven't had any crashes. Then as I installed more programs, it beginns to sporadically crash (or freezing), so I did a hard reset.
Then I installed less softwares (15-20) than I did before, at first it seems ok, but a few days later it beginn to crash again, mostly when on cradle, when I leaved it on cradle for a while and check again, the system has already been freezed, cant do a thing with it but reset. sometimes it crashes after I removed it from the cradle. yesterday I tried to open a lot of programs to fill the ram, as I want to see how many programms it can run before it gets slow, and it freezed when it had about 13Mb ram left after I opened a application. Another occasion as i remember is when I took it out of the pocket and was about to unlock it, it does not react, reset again...
Well I konw it is problably the 3rd party softwares that cause the system unsteady, but I bought this smartphone for the purpose of installing softwares on it and If I only use those preinstalled software, than what's the point of buying a smart phone. I have previously also used a HTC Wizard for about 2 month, I also had a lot of softwares on it but as I remember it does not crash as offen as this treo 750.
I just want to ask the other treo 750 users out there, are u experiencing the same problem? or is it possible my device or this wm6 version I installed is not steady? what I can do?
Well I know there is one thing I can do, exchange it to a treo 680, but I really like the 750.....
That such since I want to comment that I spend(pass) the same thing to my myself, does one love that this haci in ocaciones this one well and in others the screen freezes.
And villain qes that not if it(he,she) was for that me key or other one is that he(she) installs the skin swiht of spbmobileshell very well certainly but since then freezes also I did to him(her) hard reset and equal this one and not that to do...

I have the same problem, today im gone to send back the phone to the store, i made 2 hard resets, but the problem persist, i have problem with the phone calls too, i just recive a missed call notification or rings 1 time, i hate this phone really!!!
for you IM+ users out there...i'm having a big problem getting this to run properly on my Touch. I've used it before on my MDA and Wing with no issues at all, except the ocassional disconnect. Here's the problem: when i pull up the soft keyboard to type, the screen does not format correctly (i.e., the chat box is behind the keyboard) and when I attempt to close the keyboard, part of it stays open and i'm not still not able to see the chat window. It's basically nonfunctional like this. I've tried older versions and have had the same issue. Is this a problem with non-sliding keyboard phones? any help would be appreciated as I really love this program and want to continue using it.
the only program i've found that can compete with IM+ is Palringo..but I have a problem with getting disconnected and getting the error message "you've been connecting and disconnecting." anyone know a fix for this as well?

i installed the cab for redfly on my phone and it wont get past the white att boot screen with the red version numbers in the bottom right. any ideas? i can hard reset my phone in hardspl but i prefer to use that as a last resort since i havent backed up my phone yet. i use microsoft myphone and didnt hit sync up before, i didnt think it would break wm like that. is redfly just not meant for 6.5 or something like that?
RU running 6.5? You will need to load a rom via hrdspl. Same thing happened to me.
+1 for learning this the hard way. RedFly and 6.5 do not like each other. I had to hard reset to get mine going again.
Frankly the RedFly and the TouchPro do not work well together even with 6.1. I have 2 RedFlys and both are on the shelf until I replace the phone. They worked great with my eTen X500, but that phone is not very good compared to the TouchPro.
I really cannot think of any way to get your data back. I assume you have tried to connect to the PC and browse to the phone? Maybe at the hard reset screen, you can connect. If so, just copy the PIM over and restore later.

i had to hard reset. twice actually cause i tried again checking everything. well that sucks.
Bummer about your data. You may want to look at emoze. It will sort of do activesync OTA in real time. It will sync, contacts, email and tasks, but to your own PC, not the web. And your PC has to be running so you will need a desktop rather than a notebook. Kind of nice but not perfect either.
The emoze website has very little information. Best way is to install and see what it does.

Actually, my Touch Pro works great with my Redfly, I wonder why it doesn't' work well for you? It does really suck that the Redfly drivers don't work with 6.5, because I would definately be running a 6.5. It sucks especially since there are hardly any any new 6.1 ROMs any more.
development on 6.1 is done. 6.5 is the current os. and i cant leave finger scrolling and the performance of 6.5 behind.
