hey there
Am planin to join the family (buy galaxy S II)..so i wanna know if there is any hardware issues sort of stuff in it??
I've heard of overheating, battery life and a pink spot when taking pictures.
I have pink spot but its only disturbing when taking pictures on white (or near) stuff. My current rom VR3.0 has good battery life and overheating only when gaming for extended periods.
Other than that its the best phone I've ever had.
pink spot in the camera is only fault i can find with it but i got that on my desire hd too.
BTW this thread has nothing to do with development and should be in the Q&A section

Main problem is F%%%%% users that break the rules and post in the wrong section .
Experience shows they are not capable of understanding a Smartphone .

I want to ask the moderator for my serveral concern.
1. What is the criteria for being a forum on top or to be list in compact view? Is it about the number of post? No. The number of posts in our android development part is great in number, even more than the phone I am using now HTC sensation and no need to say about galaxy mini ,ace or moto atrix.
2. Is it about the number of Roms? surely not also! We have quite a number of ROMs although most of them are edited from stock ROM, but the number of developers are also quite enough for being a phone on top . The number of themes, mods, tweaks are so many as well.
3. Is it concern about the update frequency ? Again it is a mistake .our forum update frequency is on the top level. About 100 new posts appeared everyday. Is that an enormous number? Not quite, comparing with galaxy s2. But I think it is quite a number comparing with other phones like HTC Evo3d or Samsung galaxy captivate.
4. Is the phone not popular enough? No! Our phone is one of the most popular phone in Asia. With cheap price and relatively high spec, the number of user is still increasing. As I know in China and my city Hong Kong, the number of user of i9003 is more than I9000!
5. Slow official update, no CM, no miui, I9003 don't deserve a place on top.
Well maybe we don't have miui is a fact. But we can see that the speed for Samsung to update the firmware about our phone is suddenly in an incredible speed. So slow official update is not a matter. Many phone on top page even loses the promise to update to gingerbread from their manufacturer! Is that a reason don't let us to be on top? Our cyanogenmod is now developing! Maybe our cm developing stage is slow but at least we are doing! Is that reasonable ?
I hope the moderator can gave the answer to us as soon as possible. I hope the mods can provide us a schedule about what is the criteria and when can we be on top.
I know I am no longer an I9003 user. But I am still a member of the community, the business of I9003, is the business of mine!

superb buddy...same thing was going in my mind from so many days...
I'm not sure, let me me see what I can find out.
I think our community is now mature enough and we should take action now to request the moderator to promote us to a new position.

It's strange that I didn't see this post at the November.
I agree with all your words in your topic. Strange that we are still in the "Legacy & Low Activity Devices". Because both these parts are not true for our device.
We need to break free from this low activity forums!

is that the requirement to be considered high activity? quick, get some more useless threads open so we can reach 500!
j/k
so what are all the requirements to no longer be considered "low activity"?
i think this device belongs here, bcoz after all,its a "legacy device".......living under the shadow of its bigger brother ,the i9000

If I9003 is a legacy, but why galaxy s 4G can live separately with i9000? Galaxy S 4G is more similar to i9000, but they still get a separate forum on the top.

that's the problem.....its the same with AT&T ,and T-Mobile variants of galaxy s2(they have just got a .2 inch bigger screen!)
they give separate forums for these devices which are released in the US...after all ,the core moderator commiittee are Americans!
since the i9003 wasnt released in the US,hence the situation!

what would be improved if our forum was relocated from the low activity section? is it just a feeling of happiness that you're no longer considered low activity? yes, I have this phone, but no, I don't really care which section we're in as long as it's working fine. I will say that being a sub-forum of the i9000 was a bit hard, especially for organization of information, but whether we're "low-" or "high-activity" makes no difference as far as I see. please explain the improvements we'd see...

Can't only agree with you guys, the popularity of i9003 won't change now, and be here or elsewhere won't change anything to the situation.
Tottaly agree with you like the others. It's about time we were put in the proper place.
So I don't have any where else to put it(I think it should go under development but the rules say - if you didn't create it it doesn't belong there) but I found this post really interesting so Enjoy
I noticed it with the nexus s, may this be the reason we'll not get ICS??

Interesting read, but why would this belong in the development forum?
You did the right thing posting it in the general forum,as this is exactly where it belongs.

This is a common misconception about the development forum.
It's not for things talking about development.
It's for things you have developed.
IOW, the only time one should start a thread on that forum is when one has developed something, and wants to share it with the community.
Anyways, sorry for the derail.
Not trying to sound like an ass or anything.
You did the right thing, and thanks for sharing the link.

In spite of Samsung's best efforts to bury the news by reporting it a couple of days before Christmas, Friday's disclosure that the Galaxy S and Galaxy Tab won't get upgraded to Android 4.0 drew a lot of justified ire. Now the company seems to be backtracking like a champ, as reported by ajnews in Korea, by claiming that it will review the viability of updating those two devices in response to strong customer demand. While restating the difficulties of fitting its entire software footprint onto the Galaxy S and Tab's limited memory capacity, Samsung has been quoted as saying it'll investigate ways to try and make it work. We've reached out to Samsung for official comment on the matter and will update you as soon as we hear back.

First off this thread has a deceiving title . I came here expecting a app .
This Themes and Apps sections is only for releases. There is a Q&A Section for such questions. Also thank you for wasting the time of 756 people who viewed the thread.
Hey Lep811
Thanks for bringing this to my notice that this thread has a deceiving title and that I wasted time of 760 people who viewed this one but it's funny no one thought as you did. Seems you are very big tycoon that reading a thread wasted your time and may be money too. I didn't know I had a tycoon like you reading this post had I known I wouldn't have posted this. It no where mentions this App & Theme section is for releases and also no where mentions you can't ask questions. This question is related to App if available. Better you jus don't waste my time answering this one.

Hello xda forum. I recently joined this comunity. Heard of it on a youtube video by C4AEtech in the same day that I have rooted my phone - Samsung galaxy note 3 SM-N9005.
Please dont be hars on me, I dont know where to post, so if I'm in the wrong category please move my topic, i'll learn from mistakes.
Since I'm new to rooting and dont wanna do anything by my own cuz there are risks and dont want to intentionally burry my phone, I would like some guidance.
Basicly I have some questions
-I play this game called Taichi Panda and I lagg really hard sometimes, and yeah, my phone has 3gb ram and a strong cpu. With my old phone I had an octa core with 1gb ram and it was same. The issue here is that my old phone was running at 720p and note3 at 1080p . Is there something that I can do to switch my graphics from 1080p to 720p ? (only to this game) I want to record and make some youtube videos and I'd like to be lagg free for extra video quality. The difference between 720p and 1080p is not that big of a deal, and if it helps my game to run lagg free it will be great. P.S. I play only on wifi and I have 50mbs up and down.
-I saw here something about custom roms and kernels. I dont know what are those, but I want to improve my phone in a good way and get the most of it. I would like it to run well, not to lagg somethimes, not to freeze and stuff. I'd like to OC my CPU to a safe limit (what I saw is about 2.7 ghz). I would also like something custom that will improve my phone to perform better.
Offtopic: Recently my phone had some problems (before root). When I plug it it for charging , sometimes it doesnt charge at all and sometimes it charges for 1 sec than for next 2 sec it doesnt and so on. I dont know if its my battery fault of my charger, mabye I have killed it with that game Could you recommand me a program where I can see my battery life remaining ?
Any tip and tricks are welcome, I'm opened to any suggestions. I just want my phone to run better and this comunity just rocks -been searching for stuff in past days but cant do anything on my own.
Best wishes

Hello and thank you for using XDA Assist.
We cannot provide technical support nor can other members reply to your posts here on XDA Assist but fortunately there is an XDA area dedicated to the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 at http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-3 which would be a good starting place. I suggest you post your questions with all relevant details in the friendly Q&A forum there at http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-3/help where the experts familiar with your device will be best able to guide you.

Hello again.
Since you seem to have several separate somewhat unrelated concerns, it would best for you to start separate threads in that forum if you still have questions after reviewing the information already available there.
Once again, good luck.
