As what I've stated above, my incoming call volume was exchanged with notification volume.
eg.
In sound settings, the incoming call volume is 7/7 and the notification volume is 5/7. But when I'm receiving a call, the ringtone volume is only 5/7.
To confirm this, I've tested with 1/7 incoming call volume and 7/7 notification volume settings, but the incoming ringtone volume is 7/7, not 1/7.
I'm using XXKPH.
Help!

did you recently flash anything? did something go wrong during flashing? did you try reflashing?
assuming you have cwm and made a backup sometime before this happened, did you try deleting and wiping everything and then restoring your backup?
if none of the above worked, did you try reflashing stock ROM?
Maybe reflash the other is a good way

Try to calibrate battery that might reset the data, that way it solved my prolbem related to speaker.
Get the app from market battery calibration.

I have the same problem in all gingerbread (KP7/KP9/KPE/KPH). Now i am using Blockbuster Rom(KPH) it doesn't have a suck problem
You know the problem. Just think the Notification sound thing is the incoming call thing and theIncoming call thing as the notification thing.
If you use this solution, these are the advantages:
-> Development Fora will not be SPAMMED by stupid, useless threads!
-> People who think their problems are important then ROM feedback and other DEV. Will decrease
-> You will have the COMMON SENSE to post your query in the Q&A thread
-> You will get a chance to see what stickies are!
Update:
I already flashed to XXKPM from XXKPH. Still the same. Then I flashed clean XXKPE then to XXKPM. Still the same. What should I do?
I have same problem, any solution for this..?

Friends!
I always keem my system volume low but ring volume at 80%. But when I receive the SMS it Notificatio plays at system volume, not at ring volume. Now how can I recover SMS notification Volume at ringer volume.
Is it so that, SMS alert Volume is System based Volume, not Phone base Volume ?
Previously I was using Photo Contact Pro but I have removed that, after that this issue arise.
I have this problem too..i dont want my System Volume at 100%, but i want to hear my incoming SMS...
Any solutions? Its it possible to put SMS and Mail tones into the Ringtone category?

Any help on this would be useful; as stated, it seems that the sms alert is system volume rather than ring volume, is this correct?
Thanks.
I have to +1 this, on my touch hd same thing, it's just plain stupid that MS put the reminders, sms and stuff to system volume!!! I see no point in doiing so, nobody with a fix for that?
Anything on this?
A bit different, but: Is there a programm that forces SMS notifications to vibrate/ring more than one time?

Not a real solution but a work around is you can increase the volume of the wav file you use for SMS notification.
Its very simple, copy the wav file to your XP desktop (not sure if vista is similar) and right cligh the file and choose record. Then from Effect choose "Increase Volume" and save file and copy back to your phone and use it as you SMS notification. If you need it to sound higher, click "Increase Volume" as many time as you want.
same problem here!
so far, i merged the system and ringer together and kip all of them at 100%, but i have to remember every time I'm listening to some music and decrees the volume to put the volume up again!
there must be a way ... please help
I have tried searching, but my G2X will not ring. I can see the call coming in, but it does not ring. I have looked at all my settings and even changed some trying to get a sound. I am rooted running CM nightly. I have wiped, can hear music from music player, but no sound for ring. I feel it probably is something simple, but can not figure it out. And yes, I have checked the ringer volume.
Anyone with ideas would be greatly appreciated
Only thing i can tell you is to do a complete wipe and flash again.
Did you check the ringer volume? It has a separate volume slider than the other sounds. While the phone is ringing press the volume up key and see if that makes a difference. You can also see the ringtone volume slider in the sounds, or when you are choosing a ringtone the volume keys will adjust the ringer volume. Sounds like it got set to no volume by accident.
I did another wipe and it worked. I had checked the volume slider.
Thanks guys for the help
Glad to see it's working!!!

lol nice. Will keep this in mind next time i flash my phone.
Hello everyone i installed the new leak for my skyrocket. Everything seems to be working great but my sound profile. When i use the volume rocker to mute my phone the status bar does show that the mute profile is selected. However when i get a notifucation the sound plays. I thought this would be a simple fix by just going to sound selecting the mute profile then turning down the volume for notifications. By doing this the sound for the notifications was muted but when uaing the volume rocker to set profile to normal my notifiactions did not play nike they should. Its seems as though my sound profile is curupt or something. Can someone tell me the dir for the sound profile so i can try deleting it? I am rooted. Thanks.

Hi,
I bought a Sony Xperia J for my wife, all is fine, but it's pretty annoying to have no separate control
for the volume between call tone and message tone.
The ring tone is fine, but the message tone has the same volume and it's pretty loud.
Is there a way to separate the volume control for both somehow?
Thanks in advance

Go to settings/sound/ volumes there should be a checked box (link notifacation & ring tone) uncheck it.

Thanks for answering
If I do that, I have no longer control for the volume at all...
Maybe the android versions are different.
..just for info, the version of Android is 4.0.4..
The setings do not allow to separate the 2 volumes level.. that's a bad design.
apk?

Search for an app for...
Profile Management
Well, I tried 3 "apps to control volume", none of then worked, even if they had
1 option for ring tone, and 1 option for notifications/message".
It seems that Android, does not allow any app to separate the 2 sounds.
As soon as I changed the "notifications/message" volume, the ring tone for calls
changed too.
I will try "profile management" apps, but I doubt it will help.
The profile manager app did not help either.
Still ring tone and message tone at same level.. same for Gmail, FB and all other apps tone... for incoming messages
U need to use cm10 to tweak ur profile.

Make sure you have set a proper ringtone, with high volume and make sure the profile is 'General' and no set to 'Silent' or 'Vibration' mode.
