Friends!
I always keem my system volume low but ring volume at 80%. But when I receive the SMS it Notificatio plays at system volume, not at ring volume. Now how can I recover SMS notification Volume at ringer volume.
Is it so that, SMS alert Volume is System based Volume, not Phone base Volume ?
Previously I was using Photo Contact Pro but I have removed that, after that this issue arise.
I have this problem too..i dont want my System Volume at 100%, but i want to hear my incoming SMS...
Any solutions? Its it possible to put SMS and Mail tones into the Ringtone category?

Any help on this would be useful; as stated, it seems that the sms alert is system volume rather than ring volume, is this correct?
Thanks.
I have to +1 this, on my touch hd same thing, it's just plain stupid that MS put the reminders, sms and stuff to system volume!!! I see no point in doiing so, nobody with a fix for that?
Anything on this?
A bit different, but: Is there a programm that forces SMS notifications to vibrate/ring more than one time?

Not a real solution but a work around is you can increase the volume of the wav file you use for SMS notification.
Its very simple, copy the wav file to your XP desktop (not sure if vista is similar) and right cligh the file and choose record. Then from Effect choose "Increase Volume" and save file and copy back to your phone and use it as you SMS notification. If you need it to sound higher, click "Increase Volume" as many time as you want.
same problem here!
so far, i merged the system and ringer together and kip all of them at 100%, but i have to remember every time I'm listening to some music and decrees the volume to put the volume up again!
there must be a way ... please help

I lower the volume from some apps like slacker so the music is just right while I have headphones on. Than when I stop listening and go out my text messages ringtone is just as low as when I was listening to slacker! I could barely hear the sms's coming in.
I had to raise the SYSTEM volume to get the ringtones high again. But than slacker is high as well? What on earth is this? I want a seperate volume option for ringtones and music, is there something, cab, hack??
I know SOME apps have a seperate slider volume built in which makes sense, but not all!
PLEASE HELP, what can I do?
+1 on this!
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Services\HTCVOLUME]
"SimpleMode"=dword:00000000
for seperate system and ringer volume

surely, ring volume is for Ringtones and System volume is for all system related noises...INCLUDING system notifications such as incoming SMS messages?

Mine has that but thats what I'm talking about. once your in slacker and you lower the volume on it than exit you will now have your sms messages at LOW volume! Makes NO sense, I hate this.

No, RING is for your ringtone, SYSTEM is for EVERYTHING ELSE, its dumb.
Hello All,
I always want vibration only on ring with no sound. When I set ring to vibrate, that also turns off the sound on the included media player which means no sound for hearing voice mails. To hear voice mail, I have to go to the volume control rocker on the left side of the device and turn up volume. Now I am out of vibrate mode for the ringer, which means I have remember to go back to set the rocker to vibrate. Yes, I have the phone set so that ring and system should be individually adjustable; it does not really work that way, but that isn't the point here.
The Point. Can anyone recommend a cab, registry tweak or adjustment so that my media player volume is disassociated with the media player volume? I would like to have volume for my media player while never having ringer volume.
Thank You,
Ndmand
settings/sound & display and turn single volume off. You will now have separate volumes for ringer and sytem.
it does not work. that was the point of my post
Not so.

Maybe Volumex?

I'm not sure (I'm currently back on my Blackstone), but couldn't you select a "ringtone type" at the sound settings? e.g. "ring"; "ring+vibrate"; "ring, then vibrate"; "vibrate only";... and just select the "vibrate only" option?
I have this options in my Blackstone, but I'm not 100% sure if it's still present in HD2...
Grtz,

Thank You, Coincidence
Thanks for your reply. I really do appreciate it. As fate would have it, I happened to have figured this out yesterday, and it is exactly how you say. The ring tone type is now set to "vibrate" and it seems that I can use the volume key for the more useful purpose of making sure I can hear voice and music. Thanks again for your help.

Sorry, I missed a couple of your posts. I think my problem is fixed, but thanks for the cabs. I am new to Windows Mobile and am excited about the cabs yo posted. I may want to install them just to check them out. Again, thanks so much for your response and your obvious willingness to help others through this forum.

I am a little confused. Happy your request was answered. But maybe you can enlighten me to why the dual volume doesn't work. Or exactly why it didn't work for you. On my T9193 I set it to have dual volume. I keep the ringer volume on vibrate and the system volume turned up. Nothing else is affected by having the ringer volume on vibrate. Texts, emails, all notification sounds come through perfectly except for phone ringer. Did I miss something?
is it normal that if I set ringtone to "vibrate" from settings tab-phone settings I have sound on other apps (e.g. music player) but if I set ring to vibrate using volume button (double volume on) all device get silent ?
I am noticing that when I am on a phone call my alerts are silent. The phone will vibrate when a notification comes in (for example a text message) but it will not play my alert tone. This is a problem because if I have my phone on the charger while I'm talking I won't know if I receive a text message until I get up and check my phone. Does anyone know a way to make it so that I can hear my alerts when I'm on the phone?
Do you have the alerts tone volume turn up
Settings* sounds* volume

yes I do. like I said, I can hear them fine when I am not on the phone, but when I am on the phone they are silent. I am used to still being able to hear my alert tones even during a call, so this has been very problematic.
For those they may be interested in the resolution: After doing a little bit of digging I found out that the lack of in-call sound notifications seems to be a limitation of the stock android app. Because of this, I was forced to use a 3rd party application for my text messaging. I have installed Handcent and is providing me with in-call sound notifications for text messaging.
Hello guys, I have my Nokia 7 Plus since yesterday, and the first problem occurred.
When the phone rings it is so loud, but when I receive notifications of any kind (Viber, Whatsapp, SMS) it is so low, almost impossible to hear on the street (even on the max ring volume).
I know there is no way to separate the volume of ring and notifications on the official 8.1.0, but can you recommend some workaround for this at the moment?
Thanks
I noticed this too.
if you put on the volume down or up there is a pop-up on the screen.
On the right side is a arrow.
click on the arrow en the pop-up fold out.
Now you can change the ring volume and the notifications volume.
If I press the volume hardware buttons and then tap the arow down to drop the sliders menu I only get 3 sliders; Media, Phone and Alarm.
This is verry annoying, I allways miss my texts and whatapps.
I contacted Nokia customer care, there they tell you to reset data and cache of messages, whatsapp and the settings app, then do a softreset on your phone. DON'T do this.
It only results in having to set every ringtone and notification sound back to your preferences and the problem still remains.
Anybody with a solution?
Maybe in the Android 9 Pie update?
Btw, still running Android 8.1 in Belgium.
I have tried Pie but the problem remains. Even on max volume Viber and SMS sound is so quiet.
What I have done is I have downloaded louder ringtones from Zedge and now I use them.
I don't understand why this problem is present, even more because our Nokia has such a loud sound...
The volume of ringtone and notification sound can not be adjusted seperatly. At itself not a problem except for the fact that notification volume is way higher then ringtone volume. If I set the volume lower then the ringtone cannot be heard anymore and the notification volume is still to high.
If I set the volume higher then the notification will become a disturbence.
I have tried some 3rd party apps to manage volume of ringtones and notifications seperatly. But those do not seem to be capable off manageing notification volume and ringtone volume seperatly either.
For now I have decided to turn off notification sounds because off the volume.
I have had an OP6 before the OP Nord. There the volume of ringtones and notifications could not be managed seperatly as well but at least the volume of both ringtone and notification was in sync (equal loudness).
Anyone else noticed this? Any ideas on how to get the notification volume in line?
Do you use own file for ringtone? You can edit it, increase volume, e.g. in Audacity on PC, so it will be louder than notification sounds, and then lower ringtone volume.
Sent from my Nord using XDA Labs
Yeah, it is not a OP ringtone.
Strange thing is I have been using this ringtone on my OP6 previously where I did not have this "volume" problem.
I will give Audacity a try.
Thx.
Hi try this app, This might work for you.
It will increase ringtone volume to 100% before receiving normal call.
P.S tested on galaxy devices.
