i have the HTC sensation 4g for tmobile usa and my bootloader says S-OFF but above it it says *** LOCKED*** and im trying to reroot as ive had to unroot a while back and this is the first time ive been in the bootloader since. i would like to no how to get it to go away because i beleave its not letting me root as ive been trying for an hour or so. Thanks

Well since u went the revolutionary way ur all set to go as you got the best thing u can get, s-off. Plus I wouldn't even try goin the HTC route since I'm pretty sure it voids ur warranty(since they'll keep track of who uses it). And with the the revolutionary way, you can revert back to s-on if needed to send for warranty repair or sum
So go out and start flashing! (Well, roms ofcourse)

You can change it anyway if you're S-OFF - you don't need to unlock the bootloader

It only voids your warranty if that (unlocked bootloader) was what caused your phone to malfunction. All other warranties on the phone stay the same.

It's already S-OFF, which means the bootloader is unlocked. It's simply called two things - S-OFF and unlocking the bootloader are the same process/thing.

Finally all sorted i went from s-off RL to ENG s-off RL which has sorted my problem

Hi, I think I have bricked my phone, it's a Sensation XE btw. I wanted to go back to stock S-ON and get the ICS OTA update so I ran "RUU_Pyramid_LE_HTC_Europe_1.73.401.4_Radio_10.58.9035.00U_10.15.9035.02_2_release_220036_signed". I went well and I was back on GB and entered the command for S-ON in cmd. Then I downloaded the OTA and installed it. Now the phone won't turn on, it just goes in boot loops just displaying the HTC splash screen then rebooting again. I can't enter recovery from bootloader and I can't do a factory reset, it just goes into a bootloop. So, what can I do to get it up and running again?
Have tried this guide, but I can't get passed the point where you are supposed to flash a rom from recovery since I can't get into it. I have unlocked the bootloader and flashed 4ext touch recovery but still can't boot to it.

Y did u go back to s-on? U can take an ota and keep ur s-off. Have u tried to just get the 3.32 firmware update and put it on ur sdcard, go into bootloader and let it update the firmware, since u did the ics update?
I need to send it in to reperation. I will try to do that, but I will need to adb push it right? Since I can't mount the SD-card. I can see if I find a docking station for the SD-card tho.

Nope, it says "Loading PG58IMG.zip!", then it says "Parsing.... PG58IMG.zip". Afterwards it just stays in bootloader. Do I need to have the bootloader locked for this to work?

There isn't an RUU for the new 3.32.401.105 ICS build (yet)

@EddyOS: as mentioned in OP, I can't do a factory reset. I can't enter recovery and when i do it from bootloader it just bootloops.
And how long do you think it takes to make a RUU for my bootloader? How long does it usually take?
Man I have know idea, but if all u did is take an ota and ur phone crapped out then I would be getting my carrier or something to fix it.
yeah, that is a possibility, but my bootloader is unlocked. That may be a problem.
You can't 'make' an RUU. If you're S-OFF you can flash the old 1.73.401.4 from fastboot but. If you're S-ON you're kinda screwed
Relock it and tell them u took the ota and this is what happened. Most carriers don't look at ur bootloader and if by chance they do, tell them u were trying to fix the problem cause u need ur phone. Do u have insurance?
So the only hope for me is to either send it in to HTC or wait for a 1.27 RUU?
Or ur cell company. That's y I have insurance on my phone. Look for kingsrom in development section and ask him what he did cause he flashed something wrong and since the phone has a 1 yr warranty on it, he got his replaced. Sorry I couldn't be of more help man.

One last question, is there any way to lock the bootloader again without it saying "RELOCKED". Just talked to a HTC representative who said that the workshop could get suspicious regarding the error I have and the bootloader beeing unlocked and relocked.

I'm calling for your help because it seems my HTC Sensation XE's girl friend is now in a bad situation
First error : ICS update through OTA was proposed and installed so it's now in HBoot 1.27.0000 Locked bootloader and S-ON because I did not had time before to put it S-OFF / SuperCID / rooted when she was with Gingerbread.
Second Error : tried to unlocked the bootloader with HTCDev ... pretty useless it seems and ICS is now not booting anymore.
Now I have the phone that seems to be in a bootloop at each start, can't install any HTC RUU, it gave me Error 155 every time, I have 4EXT Touch Recovery which is still accessible but what to do with it ...
As I can't install any custom rom due to S-ON and locked bootloader, I would like to come back to the HTC Official ICS at least so the phone would be useable but I don't know how as the RUU does not want to install ?
Anyone who have any idea on how to unlock the situation please ?
Precision : I also have an HTC Sensation XE, so I was wondering if I could try to restore an nandroid backup of my Sensation ? I think this is not possible or at least things needs to be changed to restore it successfully ?

hello everyone i just recieved an htc sensation as an insurance phone since my g2x stopped working . i loved that phone and it was super fast but this is all t-mobile said they could give me. Anyways i have it and now i wanna flash different roms lol.
So i went through the process of getting the code from htcdev.com and unlocking the bootloader. But now when i try and root it from the "HTC All in One Rooting Tool Kit" using the one_x program, it doesnt work. It lets me reboot into recovery but then when i click on the root button and press enter in cmd box all it says is device not found or something like that. So my question is, is when its in bootloader can the computer still recognize the phone from the usb cord or is there something else i should do first?

from what i have found currently revolutionary method for s-off isnt currently supported.....

Um, if you have s-off why are you trying to unlock bootloader? S-off means the radio security flags are removed, far more helpful than an unlocked bootloader.
Can you write down everything from bootloader screen here, word for word, and I'll let you know if you need to do anything else
