i am running 2.2 cognition on my AT&T samsung captivate and i was just told that 2.2 froyo was released for the phone. i was wondering how i would leave the cognition and update to froyo? i went to settings and i no longer see anything that will allow me to update my firmware. a little help would be awesome! (i want to get rid of cognition and go to froyo)
Hi guys...
So i'm starting to flash ROMs on my 3 month old cappy.
I want to make sure i get everything right.
I have recently flashed Continuum 5.4.1 (GB 2.3.3) and it went like this:
- Back to stock using AIO (Rogers)
- flash GB bootloaders
- flash Talon kernel
- flash ROM with CWM
Everything is fine. But what if i want to go back to stock again ?
From my understanding, AIO uses 3 button fix ? And that's a big no no for coming back to stock after a GB ROM / bootloader flash ?
So can i go back to stock using Odin oneclick ? or is this for i897 only ?
Is there any chances for a soft brick depending on build numbers ?
Thanks for all your help !

try searching next time instead of starting new post
Well thanks for the reply... i did search before i posted but nothing talks about bootloaders and coming from GB Roms so that's why i posted a new thread...
Also back to stock should not be 2.1 ?
This is more accurate right ?
-Odin 1 click
-Flash 2.1 or 2.2

I can install custom rom at&t (I997) in Rogers Infuse (I997R)?
and rom that works.
thanks a lot.
Rogers Infuse is identical (as far as I know) to AT&T Infuse.
I have used custom roms (MIUI, CM7, GSInfuse, Infused, Dlev, S7, Sensation and etc) in this forum on my Rogers Infuse.

Captivate - i897
Firmware - 2.3.3
Baseband - I897UCKF1
Kernel - 2.6.35.7 - I897UCKH3-CL461307
Gingerbread UCKF1
I already know how to Root my captivate using "boog_kh3_kernel3.tar" then "su-2.3.6.3-efgh-signed.zip" my question is what Kernel is i9000 based for the i897 that is 2.3.3 compatible. I want to flash i9000 modems since all the i897 modems suck, i get faster speeds with i9000 modems.
The modem I had in mind was "BVJJW2_CWM3.zip"
(I DO NOT WANT A CUSTOM ROM, I SIMPLY WANT I9000 BASED KERNELS FOR MY CAPTIVATE TO RUN I9000 MODEMS for firmware 2.3.3)
Please suggest and link any ("captivate i9000 based KERNELS")
and any i9000 modems that you have had luck with in Pennsylvania
I also would like the Kernel to be stable and doesn't require chancing how the phone operate.
Thank you so much guys!!!!!!
lolwutbro?
Your post is titled "Captivate i897 kernel help" and you're asking for only i9000 kernels...
I came here hoping for a list of good i897 kernels so... good luck bro.

Sorry, it's very difficult to understand what you're asking.
Are you looking for the official (stock) Rogers ICS rom that was released in June? You should be able to get this update through KIES, but if you're looking for the .tar file...
Some searching of this forum for the firmware revision name (I727RUXLF3) turned up this:
http://d-h.st/m9P
Samsung also has a firmware repository so you could download from them directly (Probably safer), you will need to make an account though:
http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/?page=8&view=4967#
You will need to know how to use ODIN in order to flash this, do some research and reading about how to use ODIN, because you can mess up your phone if you click the wrong thing.
My understanding is that the official Rogers ROM will NOT work with an AT&T phone. You would need to use a custom ROM based on the latest AT&T leak (UCLF5), as they have not yet released an ICS rom to my understanding (Someone correct me if I am wrong...).
If that's not what you're asking then please try to clarify.
im pretty sure hes asking who has the rogers ics rom and if they do can they upload pictures (probly battery and stuff) and whether the rogers ics release can be used on the at&t skyrocket
Stock Rogers ICS rom available from sammobile.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda premium
yes this my question
rogers ics release can be used on the at&t skyrocket
It is possible to use or that it is suitable only for 727R
I have the ATT
If the install of Rogers will not be a problem so ask
2. Is there 14 toggle for ics 4 from rogers?
Hi Eli,
I also have Rogers Stock ICS 4.0.4 from Sammobile and am looking for the 14 Toggle Mod in the notification bar.
So far, I cannot find anything and nobody has posted a reply. I tried to mod this ROM myself but I'm not experienced enough with ODEX ROMs.
Here is the thread I've posted:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1757197
I hope you get an answer to your questions.
ok but your phone this i727 att
my phone i727
the rom i727r worked with i727 att?
I have the Rogers i727r with stock ICS rooted.
If you have an ATT i727, I think the Rogers ICS will work but maybe not perfectly.
What is your reason to put the Rogers ICS on an i727 ATT phone? Wouldn't it be best to use the stock ATT ROM?
beacuse att not yet out ics
this very Annoying
and i want ics
ok thank you man
