Hi guys...
So i'm starting to flash ROMs on my 3 month old cappy.
I want to make sure i get everything right.
I have recently flashed Continuum 5.4.1 (GB 2.3.3) and it went like this:
- Back to stock using AIO (Rogers)
- flash GB bootloaders
- flash Talon kernel
- flash ROM with CWM
Everything is fine. But what if i want to go back to stock again ?
From my understanding, AIO uses 3 button fix ? And that's a big no no for coming back to stock after a GB ROM / bootloader flash ?
So can i go back to stock using Odin oneclick ? or is this for i897 only ?
Is there any chances for a soft brick depending on build numbers ?
Thanks for all your help !

try searching next time instead of starting new post
Well thanks for the reply... i did search before i posted but nothing talks about bootloaders and coming from GB Roms so that's why i posted a new thread...
Also back to stock should not be 2.1 ?
This is more accurate right ?
-Odin 1 click
-Flash 2.1 or 2.2

Hello, I am running the stock AT&T Froyo 2.2 and wanted to know if I can try an older modem I896UXJL1. If I can what do I need to do and where can I get the modem. It was in cog 3.4 and worked great for me and now the 2.2 uses KB1 which isnt working as good.
Thanks!
Modems
Modems are all posted in the first sticky of the Captivate Android Development sub-forum. I am on 2.2 stock ROM with speedmod-kernel-i897-k13e-500hz-CWM kernel and using cwm2_ugjl2 modem which works brilliantly in central Florida. 12 and a half hours on and 69% of battery still left (with Juicedefender).
Edit: oops just noticed JL1 isn't posted there (which you probably already knew). I still recommend JL2.
JL1
Found JL1 on Perka's file stash (perka.zapto.org)
Thanks guys for the help...... I too have awesome battery life on the stock AT&T Froyo and I get better reception being on the 1897UCKB1 running 3G.
I have another question. I have been trying to get a newer version of camera.apk to work on a stock Froyo and everyone I have tried force closes. Also, I wanted to know if there was a version of extended power menu out there as well. Thanks Again!
Here is the announcement and link I wont be downloading however but I cant wait for a cooked version of this. I LOVE my cooked stock rom

so if you are running pure stock this update will load gingerbread over the stock froyo ?
Yes...if you are running pure stock (not rooted stock but straight up untouched) then yes, it will install GB over Froyo. If you're rooted it will still do the same thing except kill your root access also.
We dont need more then one thread about this.

Hi guys. I got my Nexus S like 1 month ago and it's just great. The only problem that I have it's this crappy stock ROM I have from upgrading Android Build from 2.3.1 to 2.3.6 (Which appears to be latest when pressing System Update button in Settings).
I've been looking around for some custom ROMs to mount on my Nexus and I found out that none (or maybe I've found out wrong) support 2.3.6.
Should I downgrade to 2.3.4 or upgrade to ICS? And if so, how do I do it?
There is a Dev section where you can look for custom ROM.

Went there and found for 2.3.4 and 4. Updated it to ICS, but I'm having a small problem installing from sdcard, hehe...
Hi,
I have searched and searched for an answer to my specific question and am having NO luck.
To start, my Samsung Galaxy S Captivate (on Rogers network) came stock with Froyo, and I hastily upgraded to Gingerbread (2.3.3 is what it's currently running). I tried to root the phone using Odin and Gingerbreak, both with NO success. It just hangs up for hours, doing nothing. Not rebooting, just hanging there.
My questions are:
Can I root this phone, despite its having been upgraded to gingerbread and isn't STOCK gingerbread? and if not...
Can I revert back to Froyo somehow?
Keeping in mind, this phone has NEVER been ROOTED.
Many thanks in advance!!
couldn't you use odin1click to flash stock 2.1 and upgrade back to froyo using Kies thn root with superoneclick? dont take my word for it though! lol im still a lil bit noobish
The member by the name of trusselo is the one you seek. If i remember correctly he has all the stock rogers odin one clicks in his sig.

Hey,
I before a day installed the CM9 and their are things that don't fit well with the rom and more...
I want to reback to the Stock rom of Samsung.
Their is a guide?
OK. I found.
http://theunlockr.com/2012/06/02/get-samsung-galaxy-tab-2-7-gtp3113-back-stock/
it's only for the GT2 P3113.
I didnt flash CM9, but couldnt you flash stock with Odin using firmware from http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/ ?
I recently flashed 4.0.4 for P3113 (this one) and I still had 4.0.3 but new applications (hub, google, remote). For sure they are different in US and Europe !
Then I go back to Stock 4.0.3 France using Samfirmware.
