I know a lot of people say any Boost phone can be put on Boost, but since TP2, there have been changes to people's opinions on it.
I thought I'd ask here for some concrete knowledge. Can this device be flashed over to Boost? I have a TP2 but want an upgrade with the same hard keyboard and this seems to be my best option.
Thanks in advance.

It's only a crime if there are witnesses :S
But seriously, if someone DOES find out, you could be in BIG ****.
I presume Boost are a CDMA operator then. If they were GSM you could just swap the SIM, surely?

I'm confused as heck. I have been looking around for an hour and can't find an answer. Will the D2G work with AT&T in the US?
It wont work on any US simcard/carrier other than verizon as carriers use a specific network ID which has been blocked on the droid 2 global (att, tmobile, etc.) However, I've seen people post that theres a workaround to this but there's a price for that and you've also got to send them your phone I believe.

It's a hardware modification if I'm not mistaken which is why you have to send the phone to them.

It is a software only mod.
It is definitely NOT a hardware modification. The reason we need the phone is because it involves flashing a special file to the radio image.

So if that's the case, why can't someone make a downloadable version?

we could access this information in a long time or short time?
what you think about it?
The solution is for sale, that is why we haven't released it publicly.

There is a link to a thread on MDW where this can be discussed without breaking the rules here on XDA, thanks.
Just curious, I've looked around and can't seem to find anything... Is their a guide or can anyone help me with getting a nexus s over to boost? Thanks.

Its illegal and follows same steps as the evo. Minus meid repair.

My question was not on the legality of the process.... Nor was I trying to discuss the steps of the process in the forum. But you said minus meid repair.... Do you mean the steps are different?
Please if you have a guide or know the step of how to get the nexus s in the boost system pm it to me.
BTW I know the laws governing this action... Everyone has their own interpretation....

Hypothetically if I had a Epic 4G Touch with a Bad ESN and I wanted to change my ESN/MEID to my Nexus S 4G would it be done in the same way as switching to boost with a donor phone
I am actually just curious. I don't see the need to upgrade my NS4G until GN comes to sprint.

Flashing to boost is taboo but whatever.
Anyways you will need cdma workshop

And boost will eventually catch u and ban the phone from its network. Just be a boss and keep it on a real network. Stop trying to beat aeound the bush. Plus have u seen how terrible boost is? Yea i know its sprint thats why boost mobile sucks.

Why would boost ban you? When I first tried to get my EVO on boost thru boost the rep told me that if I got my evo in their system they would have no problem activating service on it.

Why are you in this thread? You haven't contributed any useful information at all.
For everyone else: I just put a Sprint Nexus on Boost, CDMA Workshop isn't needed, its a 20 minute process using QXDM and QPST and is the same process as an Epic, or Moment or any other Samsung Android phone. Just make sure your using a 3g phone like an Incog or Touch Pro/2.
Havnt contributed bc its illegal.

YES, IT IS ILLEGAL, SO DONT DO IT.
As stated in an earlier post, the question wasnt about legality. Yes, im sure he understands that there may be some legality issues with this, nobody posted a how-to or detailed info on how to perform what he wants to do.
So again, why are you in this thread? Youve made 3 posts here and and contributed nothing but random mis-spelled words of negativity thrown together to form a sentence.
"Yup. Dont get sand in ur vag man. "
What the hell does that even mean anyways? Seriously, what's it have to do with this thread, or anything on the forum in general? Makes no sense. I noticed 90% of your posts on this forum are like this.
Thanks for viewing my page bossman.

Hey guys, Im new here but look forward to learning from this great community. That being said, I also questioned the leaglity of switching a phones netwrok. From what I understand, it should be legal according to the new exemptions to section 1201 of the Digital Millennium copyright act:
The new exemptions allow circumvention of (A) locks on cellular phone software, known in the industry as “bootloader” programs, that prevent customers from switching carriers without obtaining new handsets;
quoted from (wont let me link to web page due to new user, but you can google it) This is a new change, just going into effect in November.
That being said, I had a Nexus flashed to boost and it works fine. The only problem that I have is that they will not port my old number over due to it being an 'unsupported device'. Now I need to figure out if I root it, will it cause issues with the flash?
Can somebody PM me what was meant by "same as the evo without the meid change" please?

The process is not the same as the evo, its the same as any other Samsung phone. Just google Epic on Boost and you'll find instructions.
As far as rooting the device, it wont affect the radio portion of the phone which is what is used to make calls use 3g data. The only thing that will be lost is the MMSC URL setting in the data menu only if you flash a new ROM. That setting controls pic and mms messaging. It will usually default back to "http://mms.mysprintpcs.com". Just edit it so it reads "mm.myboostmobile.com". The data menu is accessed in the dialer by ##3282#, you'll need the SPC to make any changes.
Work is switching providers so I will be returning my 710 GS3 for the Verizon model. Anything crazy I should know about? Seems rooting and unlocking are the first difference. Anything else that screams out? I will obviously be reading and searching a bunch this weekend but just wanted to catch any head-ups if anyone had any.
Kind of sucks as I have been modding and getting o familiar with the SPRINT model. Now I have to start over in a sense. Oh well.
Thanks,

Well you will be getting faster LTE if you have it in your area. You can use the Casual tool to root if you got a Mac or Linux Pc. Also check my signature for a indepth guide.
Sounds good. Thanks for the help.
Unlocking and IMIE issues were not a problem with the Sprint varient. Are either of these things something I should be concerned with? We have stable unlock and root on the Verizon GS3 now correct?

NO matter what your flashing there is always a chance of IMEI loss. So i highly recommend backing your's up/ A bunch of guides in the development sub forum.

There is always a chance to lose your IMIE no matter what but we now have free apps from the play store to make it possible to one click unlock and flash a recovery. Its almost idiot proof on how easy these awesome devs over here have made it.

Casual also works with Windows 7 as long as you have Java installed on PC.
Just wondering if it is even possible.

Nope, not at all.
God. I hate how Verizon keeps pulling this **** off. Such an amazing phone. Might just order one off Google to have and sell later on.
Edit*
Even with a lot of development, there is no way to bypass it huh

Not really. Might be feasible to spoof the activation from a previously enabled Verizon phone but I don't think anyone's even started working on that, and THAT would be an ugly workaround.

No still not because version's VOICE network is CDMA and if they don't have your ESN in their database you can't connect. Simple as that.
The methods of doing that is similar to those of flashing Sprint phone to boost mobile. But I think it's illegal and can't be discused in xda as it requires modifing imei/esn.

no, it has nothing to do with that.
verizon keeps a list of all the allowed ESN/IMEI numbers and will not let a number on their network that is not in their list.
I think he meant modifying the esn to match one in their database, which would be illegal. This thread should be closed.
I've seen some photos and heard some rumors that Verison will be carrying an official branded Nexus7 (boy, do I mean branded) sometime this year. Hopefully the 5 will follow

If someone has lost it I'm guessing it will be blocked and won't be able to make a phone call or use mobile data. You should hand it in to the police to give the owner a chance of getting it back (they might have stuff on their phone that they want to get back) . If you don't then it is theft. I'm pretty sure no one on the forums will help you with this and I hope that they don't.
