Do Gameloft games still save to internal storage on stock roms? Thanks.
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA App
Unfortunately yes, its like that even on custom ROMs unless you use a Rom like CM7.1 which allows you to choose rather to use micro-sd or internal
Thank you. That is rather unfortunate. :c

Yup. that 5 gigs fills up pretty quick with few Gameloft games
i move the data of the ones i dont play alot to my external SD card, so if i want to play it again i use astro to move it back and play.

You can try my app.
It must have root's permission
and automatically mount your external sd to /sdcard/gameloft.
It will list all gameloft games which you install and press button to open.
End of the program it will automatically unmount.
You just move gameloft data from /sdcard/gameloft/games to /sdcard/_ExternalSD/games
You do not need to patch your gameloft apk

I use this app from tnslf2k its called "GL to SD" and you can get it in the android market. It has worked for all the games I have tried from gameloft. It will play the games from the external sd card with no problems that Ive noticed.

Unless you manually move the apps to the sd card after installing them.

Settings>Applications>Manage Applications, then click on whichever app you want to move, and if it can be moved to the SD Card, the option "Move to SD Card" will be lit up. Most games can be moved, and I don't believe any system apps can be moved (Flash, Gmail, etc.)
Hi guys i was wondering if anyone knows a way for.us to get more internal memory i know theres the fota file thing. But is it posible in any way that we can buy or change the internal memory of this phone and put another one bigger?
Sent from my SGH-T959V using XDA App
Nope.avi
Internal memory is what it is.
Ok, it sucks having this phone with such small memory. I had a vibrant before and when you are used to have phone with big internal memory like i did it sucks big time. I hate every time that im dowloading an app abd give me the error of not having memory available
rught now im just with the default apps and the xda app, ninja jump and another game for my kids. Nothing more :/
Before wiping my phone last week i had 90+ market apps installed. I never got any errors regarding internal storage space. I remember using the fota fix app though.

Something doesn't sound right. I've got over 60 apps installed from the market with no memory issues. Check your internal memory to see if its full.
Sent from my SGH-T959V using XDA App
You'll have to root and apply the fota fix by Matt Henry http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=13504566. Do this and you'll have all the space you need

Also you can use an app like app2sd or one like it so put apps onto the so card. I use this for games because they take up the most storage space. I use link2sd and use ext4.

Are you running a GB Rom? I had issues with link2sd and ext4 with apps disappearing back when the first GB leaks came out and we had all the busybox ext4 conversion problems. Since then I have kept away from it, but would love to use it again if it is running smoothly with the newer leaks / roms.

Have u tried App2SD app?... it will automatically change the location for the new installed apps to the SD card instead of the internal memory.
Ofc some apps just need to stay in the internal memory but, just to mention, i have 114 apps installed, 91 in the SD the rest in the internal memory (including the stock apps)

I am on octane with link2sd with no problems, there is a setting that you turn off so all of your apps don't go to sd. This way you can choose
Hi all,
I am running out of storage on my note and was wondering if there was a way of saving my games obb files to the memory card and still being able to play the games?. I know I could do the switch hack to swap the memory over but don't fancy doing that.
any ideas?
Hmm ,
Make a Folder Directory in External SD Card, Similar to the Internal SD Card.
And Try this,
It worked for me some time ago,
You can have a try too...
P.S : Make a Backup before you took any step....
Because once you lost your obb , game is lost ... as well this may affect your Game Progress

You will need root to use the app.

Better use FolderMount instead of DirectoryBind, easier to use and is still supported, so it also works with Android 4.2.2.

I tried to use FolderMount and it moved the obb files ok but then when I went to play the games (Modern Combat 4 and GTA Vice City) they no longer work. With MC4 it's starts to load like normal then just jumps back to my homescreen, with GTA it says each time additional files successfully downloaded but then freezes the Note.
Any ideas??
Well I give up!.
I have tried to use both programs to get my games saved to ext SD but I must be doing something wrong cuz I can't get either to work right.
Why o why did Samsung feel the need to stop you saving games to external SD???.
I only swapped from my Tab 8.9 cuz I was always filling the 16GB memory, I thought buying a tablet that could take an SD card would solve my problems.
Oh well never mind, thanks for all the suggestions....
hi, if i move dungeon hunter 4 obb file to external sd card temporarily to free up some space for internal memory, after that i put the obb file back to internal memory, will the game still have have the saved game progress?

of course you can, I've often done that for a few games which has quite large obb or data, gameloft, glu, or ea games, when I want to play the game, just return the obb or the data back to the original folder, then the games ready to be played back with no loss game progress, and the good again, the device does not need diroot
I just got my new SGT 2 7.0" and was wondering how to to increase applications/data storage on this unit. I know it has to be rooted. But then I got confused: there are different methods out there that are compatible with only certain ROMs, some sorts of scripts that you have to maintain/change manually and etc.
What I want is to install certain applications (Like Sygic Navigation) on external SD card (32Gb) and use internal memory for regular/small apps. The reason is that that navigation app has huge map files that cannot be stored on internal memory - no room..
Another thing I got confused is the way those scripts work: some of them allow to completely swap internal memory for external, some allow data files to be installed on the external card. Can you guys advise what is the best and easiest way to make this happen? Are there any custom ROM's that already support it? My tablet is not rooted yet and it is Android v 4.1.1 (build P3113UECLK7).
As far as I see it, being a great tablet by design - it has a HUGE functional limitation - low memory capacity - only 8Gb for 7 inch tablet. Or Am I missing something
I juat got one of those too I'd have thought 8Gb is plenty for apps. Just get a decent-sized SD card for your data (music, videos etc), preferably a class 10 card. Good luck.

The problem is that out of 8Gb we have only 4Gb available to use. The rest is already used by the system. And that is very, very limiting:crying:

You can use gl2sd app or the foldermount app, both of which require root.the first one allows you to move some apps to the sdcard and the second allows you to link and move large game/app folders to the sdcard(which is what i do, because the swap scripts do not work past4.1.2). I'm not sure if any of the external/internal swap scripts work on the p3100.

Hello,
Is your shield rooted ?
If 'Yes' you can use GL to SD then move this game to your external micro-sd. The only 'trouble' is that sometimes you will have to go the system menu then 'uninstall' then 'reinstall' the external micro sd card (in fact you just have to do this at the startup and not every time)
Bye !
