Had to reboot for the 1st time - Windows Phone 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Been running all developer preview builds of mango and now have the official from Att for my 1.3 focus and had to reboot (due to OS problem) for the fist time over the weekend.
I received a text message with photo attached and every time id try to tap on the photo nothing would happen. Backed out of messaging and back in, same problem.
Rebooted and it went away.
Just wanted to post cause this OS has literally been rock solid until that point...... At least for me......

Same problem again today, anyone else?

The only problem mine has had was enabling the Bluetooth for the first time. The system crashed. But once rebooted, it hasn't done it again.
EDIT - I just sent an MMS to my Focus with a picture attached. I tapped it, it opened and nothing bad happened.

Wierd, I never had these problems on 7712
All related to the messaging hub....

Marketplace problems today 5/5/11 anyone else?

"Can't get this information at the moment. Check again in a little while."
When i try to download or update apps.
also get "Can't play try signing in with your Windows Live ID or synchronising again." when trying to stream music with my zune pass
I Rebooted the phone, changed my live ID password, synced phone with Zune, took the battery out of the back, deleted the offending apps (now i cant redownload them and use them get same message), I am doing all these updates via Wifi, the router is about 10 feet from the phone in same room so no connection issues.
It's really annoying me now. I really want to like this OS but all the little bugs like 3rd party live tiles not updating, marketplace bugs, no call duration information in call log etc are starting to wear me down, factory resetting the phone is not a solution, having to reinstall all your apps and resync 10gig of music and files every time this OS has a hiccup is ridiculous.
I am having the same problems with my markeplace ever since I updated my phone this morning, please tell me I wont have to hard reset my phone!!!
It seems to be widespread. I'm hoping for a crazy billing update of some kind

Yeah i have been getting that today also am hoping it goes back to normal soon.
Yeah, I'm having the same problems. Ticking me off because I have two app updates and I want to download Square Off. Its not a bug though since its widespread, MS is probably doing something to the servers.

Microsoft is aware of the problem. Its affecting NoDo builds. They haven't released any fix as of yet. Started five hours ago or so.

Ah well makes me feel better it's not just my phone been stupid.
Marketplace is back up and I'm dowloading all my updates!!
Mines started working again too, yay!
yes i too !!!
i tried to start marketplace but it don't work HELP!!!
It's still not accessible on my phone. Strange thing is, when i use the app Marketplace Search and select an app i'm redirected to the Marketplace site of that app.
I have updated my phone yesterday with the latest security update.
I have problem too. I get try later message.
I have an HTC Arrive which came with NoDo and did not have any trouble today at all.
Mine is fine now, must have been coincidental that the problem started just after I updated.
I've seen this happen a few times in the past. It always seems to go away after a little bit.
I also faced it today morning and rebooted multiple times with no luck. Afternoon it resolved by itself.
I think marketplace was down for a while. It's okay now.
Had same problems til 2pm...Working now

i tried that, but nothing helped. i checked my calendar in windows live web interface, but it was empty there too, so i had to add all appoitments again, manually.

Lost Favorites in IE again!

Just when I thought it was safe to get back into IE "Favorites" again, they disappeared! This had happened several times prior to Mango, but when I completed the upgrade last fall, I began to build the list again. Now it happened again! Is there any way to get them back? Does anyone else have this issue?

It just wont open it really wont do anything. Every time i try and open the text messages the phone lags and a black box pops up and then immediately closes it. It doesnt even stay open long enough for me to read it. So what I ended up doing was doing a complete data wipe and re-flashing and reinstalling everything. I havent had an issue since I have done that. The only bad part was I lost all of my txt messages.
Sounds like it could have been a couple of things. The message database could have been corrupted. Also, the stock messaging app really doesn't like large SMS databases.
Maybe a bad download of the ROM depending on whether you installed it in CWM... Can't have a bad download with the Odin (or the update in Tweaktools), as it checks the integrity of the file.

I actually just had this problem last week. I was using the stock msg app but it also affected my phone function and any app that needed to connect to a data connection. All apps force closed.
Another note is that this was immediately after an hour long session of using wifi tether over 4g. I rebooted and after boot almost no apps responded and my phone heated up (I assume applications were looping in the background after failing to open running the processor at 100%) so i turned off and went into recovery. Factory reset did nothing, clearing cache did nothing and i couldn't try any other apps due to the phone crashing. Only solution i found was a complete reflash of Tweaked.
I fear this happening again in the future so i figured i'd post my similar experience.

[Q] Samsung focus 2 messaging fix?

My sister has a Samsung Focus 2, and all text messaging is no longer working. It was fine yesterday and nothing was changed. Restarted the phone with no luck.
I have an original Focus, so I went through and checked some things out.
I checked the free space, and saw she has over 3GB still.
I checked the settings using the diagnoses app and comparing to my Focus, and sure enough the messaging settings were simply set to nothing/generic.
I tried to use Windows Break so I could install Samsung Tools to fix, (as I have had to run on my phone) but I found out that the exploit was fixed.
Other then calling tech support and hopping they can have the settings remotely reset and if needed resetting the phone, is there anything else that I can do?
If needed we can try a new SIM card if that might help, just not till after work as everything else works on the phone.
Nevermind, it fixed itself.
