I got a request earlier today to make deodexed versions of the EP3HA release, as I had made for the EP1W (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1260214) release. So here it is. These files are 7zip just like the original release from TBH. I tried .zip .rar and .7z and found the highest compression was with .7z so thats what I used.
There are absolutely no changes from the TBH release except that it is deodexed. It will delete all data and leave you stock rooted, including the recovery, so you will certainly want to follow up your ODIN flash with a flash of CWM 4.0.0.8, which is also attached.
EP3HA Full Deodexed
EP3HA Debloat Deodexed
CWM Recovery 4.0.0.8
In case you want to use the Debloated version, but there are still some apks that you want from the full version, here is a link with all of the original apks from the full version:

Yes, that is the stock theme. However, because it is deodexed, you can either theme it yourself, or use a theme that is already out there.

Deodexed allows [easy] theme creation and install. It is possible to theme without deodexing, but its more difficult. Aside from that, no advantages that I know of. Some have claimed performance differences one way or the other, but I don't think there is any substantial difference.
If you are asking what is deodexing...http://www.addictivetips.com/mobile/what-is-odex-and-deodex-in-android-complete-guide/. Basically, for each apk there is an odex file, by deodexing you combine them into a single file.

Buzzing, popping crackling noise issue solved?
I've had issue with buzzing, popping crackling noise during a phone call running several different Gingerbread roms, until I encountered this one. I honestly don't know the reason or the cause of the buzzing noise running on other GB roms prior to this one.
I've been running the full deodexed version of this ROM for a few days now, and it has been running flawlessly, no more buzzing noise issue so far. I made sure I took cautious steps installing it. First, I installed the factory EE4 rom properly, back to stock, before I odin this rom. Then I installed Imnut's [8-17-11] Clockwork Mod Recovery (the orange version), and backed up everything. Then I installed imoseyon's GB kernel, v3.1.0, and backed up everything. I use GO Launcher EX (not a big fan of TW stock launcher).
I'll continue testing and will report if I run into the same issue.
hey stranula just a quick question, would it be possible for you or someone who knows how (if its not hard I could even learn myself) to make a CWM package of the debloated leak? I like to be 'bleeding edge' lol and run rom betas but its a pain in the ass to have to Odin back to stock every time to start over when I mess something up

Lol. No prob. FYI, when I said I ran a backup, I was using CWM 4.0.1.4 to do an image backup of the whole system.
I hope that solves your buzzing issue. I'm still buzz-free so far.
Well I just made a couple phone calls and no buzzing or crackling. I hope it holds out. I didn't do the cwm backup. Do you think that's necessary to avoid the static noise?

No, no effect to the static noise issue.
I just recently discovered this nifty tool (cwm backup) myself. The image backup/restore feature lets you backup your current system, as a whole, in case you want to restore it at later date. It stores it into a file in clockworkmod folder. Usually whenever I'm satisfied the way my system works, I'd back it up to the card. And if I want to try a different ROM, for example, I'd run a backup before flashing the new ROM, and if I feel like going back to my previous system, I can just restore it from the card. I may choose to backup the new system prior to doing that, just in case I want to flip back to it. The feature seems to be working well for me. YMMV.

This is assuming that you already have installed the EG2 leak. No kernel or radio is included with this.
I am just throwing this out here in case anyone would like it. I will not support this as it is not a quality release by any means. This is slightly debloated (some Verizon apps) but not tweaked in any way shape or form. It is rooted, deodexed, zip aligned and nothing more. There is a wifi bug in this version.
To install:
Odin the EG2 leak
boot into recovery
Wipe data
Install from zip

I assume we don't have to wipe data if we already installed the leak and wiped then?...We can just flash this right and then flash your mods?

Yes you will need to wipe after installing the leak. The leak is not deodexed.
After you wipe and install this rom then you may install the mods.

hey Nitro this caused my charge to not be rooted titanium said it couldn't get root access. I went back to the standard debloated and everything works fine.
Ok. So ever since I've had this device it's been rooted and as such, i've tried a number of roms. The problem is whenever I start with a rom I really enjoy (currently the stock one... go figure) then i do a nandroid back up.. try a new one.. to find some glaring shortcoming i just have to have (a2dp) and try to restore my nandroid. On my G2 this process was absolutely seamless!
What happens is i restore nandroid... but it doesn't restore my apps... all the space is definitely gone.. like they're in teh file system and cards... but they don't show up in teh launcher and my wallpaper is back to stock... just as if i had a stock device.
Any ideas?

What version of CWM are you using?
Sent From My G2x Running CM7 Nightly 70
Are you initiating the backups thru rom manager or directly from recovery? If you're initiating them from rom manager try booting directly into recovery and then making a backup.
I'm using 3.0.2.7 (the one that rom manager tells me to use). but i always backup while booting directly into CWRM because as we all know... Rom Manager doesn't see the external SD but CWRM does.
I would reflash CWM again.
Do a Nandroid, put it in the sd card and try restoring again.

I think your problem is that you're using rom manager. Try doing it the real way (nvflash).
Rom manager is great on phones in which it doesn't use fakeflash, but I would stay away from the program on phones in which it utilizes fakeflash.

They are all great roms ive used them all black ice stable2 is hard to install. Icbinb is super smooth and sexy with the honey theme. Audophile is sexily themed and very smooth, my opinion look at the rom threads and choose the one that suits you the best.
Sent from my SGH-T959V using XDA Premium App
ICBINB comes with Bali3.3uv and other tweaks, which makes it the easiest to flash. Just flash once and you are done.
I am however having some problems with flashing back down to kc1 or kd1, i always get force close messages, i have fixed permissions but i can't open up messaging app, dialer, contacts, camera and others. It worked fine for 2 or 3 hours and then started to fc.
you didnt wipe everything properly. make sure you try raver's kc1 and make sure all of the files are in the right places in odin. also, if you are still getting problems, i would recommend wiping your sd card from the phone. reboot and let it sit to rebuild everything and make suer you have backups of your important stuff. once the cache rebuilds. go back into cwm and fix permissions before you do anything else. then see if kc1 fc's anything.
did you do a data restore? that may be why things are fc'ing

So does Audiophile. Very very easy to flash and has Bali v3.3UV as well.
I've tried all three, and I prefer ICBINB the most. The smoothness it offers is just incomparable.
its a matter of taste honestly
some like black ices dark icy theme
some like honeycomb
some like Ravers
hell flash all 3 and test
I am about to flash Audiophile to test out. It looks like a really nice ROM, but so do the others. ICBINB worked out really well when I flashed to test it out also. So if you have the patience to flash all three and test, then go that route. Hopefully it will help determine which ROM best suits you.
I haven't done a data restore, yet. I flashed via Odin Whitehawkx custom kc1.
I have searched and can't find Raver's Kc1, can someone attached a link?
So far i have let it sit for about 5 hours with no use at all and i opened up messaging, camera, contacts and all is good.

Yes, I do! Thing is, I was tweaking everything like I wanted and started getting a lot of fc's. Which is why I went back to the original rom. I used the font changer app and was removing a lot of the other apps that came with the rom and I think that's what was causing a lot of my issues. I even reflashed it after some time and then started tweaking again. What was weird was the fc'ing I was getting was every 9th time I would hit the power button to put my phone to sleep, the phone would reboot. I couldn't figure it out, so I just reflashed and said the hell with it.

Need anybody's help!
I rooted back in June, so here's what I had (from memory),
PBJ kernel, voodoo lagfix, and CWM recovery (might be old).
Anyway, I edited the secgps.conf in another post about fixing GPS. I made
a back-up of the original. Anyway, in the other post, he states to reboot,
then it will take awhile but after the first GPS lock, it should work faster.
Well...I rebooted, and it was still way-off...even worse than before. After 10 minutes, I rebooted...then got stuck with the Red Eye at boot.
I took out the battery, plugged back in, etc. Still stuck at Red Eye...even plugged into outlet...letting it go...still that way for over an hour.
Any method of getting in, and just replacing the secgps.conf with the original, then try rebooting? What are my options? Don't want to wipe out everything, especially if I have the voodoo lagfix?
Help! Thanks in advance,
Sara :$

well if it won't boot you can't replace the original file, unless you know about ADB and how to use it... you may need to go back to stock with the PIT file and start over, its not a huge deal and doesn't take long plus the roms out now are way better than the older ones
Dear anoninja118,
I actually let the phone sit for an 3 hours while I worked...it finally got through boot.
However, I thought I had lost root... most of my apps were gone...bloatware came back that I had frozen.... getting force closures on all the apps.
I went into ADB and I still have root (although Superuser app shows no listing ).
I put back that original GPS file rebooted...but nothing..things remained the same as previously stated.
All my files are all intact, have CWM, but it states no voodoo lagfix. Any ideas on how to repair? Can I just switch to another ROM? Keep my files/data?
Thanks,
Sara

well what rom were you running? you could just reflash it (shouldn't need to wipe) to return it to 'normal'... also if root was lost I can upload superuser.apk, just flash it and you'll get root back

Yikes...being new to all this stuff, and I did it a few months back, I don't believe I flashed a ROM. I think I did jt1134's kernel (Root / Voodoo Lagfix / CWM Recovery), then I might flashed the PBJ kernel that was available at that time.
Ironically, I've been having many issues with bluetooth and GPS problems recently, and heard that there was a new Gingerbread update. I wanted to wait for the official release, then have one of the programmer gods make a new kernel/ROM. I am not ready to jump to GB yet, and I want to keep all my files. I backed-up many of my apps with Titanium back-up, and saved via DropBox.
Anyway, I thought about reflashing...but if I do the jt1134 scenario...it's via Odin..won't that erase everything. I guess all my stuff is on the SD card, right?
Thanks so much for helping out a damsel in distress,
Sara

yes any Odin flash will wipe all data thats not backed up, if you use titanium backup for apps, export a contact list to your sd card that you can import later and you should be fine you'll just lose settings and things like login info for apps which you will have to set up again after... and yes you could do jt1134's method again or you could just flash debloated rooted stock EE4 in CWM (which will be exactly like what you're using) as well as one of the newer kernels, if you want to go the Odin route I would suggest Gummy FE 2.0 or Humble 1.6 as they are both very stable and tweakable/themeable plus come with all the goodies like root, CWM, custom rom and kernel (however if you wiped data and both caches in CWM you could also just flash the rom .zips right over what you're using instead)
Thanks for helping again. So, if I understand correctly, I could use CWM to get debloated rooted stock EE4, and I would still have my data?
Sorry I got confused with "(however if you wiped data and both caches in CWM you could also just flash the rom .zips right over what you're using instead)". So instead of Odin, I could just use CWM with wipe data and cache to flash a new ROM, correct?
That's what confuses me...when to use CWM and when to use Odin? Oh, should I update to the newest CWM (I hope that's easy) first?
Thanks so much...hate to bug you on the weekend, but I need to get this fixed before Monday for work!

you can use either one CWM or Odin, unfortunately you will lose data no matter what... I only said that you could use CWM instead since you already have it and it might be a little easier that way, but both ways will work

You shouldn't have rooted your phone. Sounds like you don't know what you are doing at all. So I would google "how to flash with odin", then go back to totally stock.

I flashed the Octane ROM and now have the rainbow screen. I am told I need to flash a Gingerbread bootloader but I cant figure out a 100% sure way of doing this. I have read I also need some sort of kernel just not sure what one. All I did to the phone so far was get clockwork recovery working and flash the Octane ROM. Sorry for the noobish question but I am completely new to these Samsungs and theyre a little more involved than the HTC's I have previously worked with.

I'm guessing you're coming from Froyo. You should check out the SGS 4G Bible here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1117554. Look under ODIN ROMs and install Chadster's KG4 ROM (last one listed). That's the first GB ROM to have the bootloaders on it. After that, you should be able to drop whatever other GB ROM you want on it.

Excellent thank you! Could I backup the current ROM in clockwork recovery, flash Chadster's KG4 then just restore my backup? Or would that also restore my old bootloader? The phone is my girlfriends and she just got it setup the way she likes and I would hate for her to have to do it all over again. Shes not as patient as I am when it comes to this kinda stuff.
I believe that would be ok

No worries. Glad to help. Did it all work?
If you're coming from Froyo, DO NOT advanced restore your data on a GB ROM!
That will cause multiple issues on your phone. One of them being no incoming phone calls.
In order to move from Froyo to GB, your only option is to use Titanium Backup. Backup all user apps and data and restore them when you're on GB.
GB to GB is fine, but you must flash the Bali kernel (yes, it is a Froyo kernel) to perform an advanced data restore. You must be sure to flash the kernel back to a GB kernel afterwards. If not, you will be in a boot loop.
As for keeping HOMESCREEN settings and such, unless if your girlfriend has a custom launcher on, like ADW or LauncherPro, you will have to manually set up everything again.
In terms of PHONE settings, you'll have to set up everything again.
I hope you see this post before flashing, or else you'll have to reflash everything for your girlfriend!

I assume by advanced restore you mean some sort of restoring through Clockwork Recovery?
I only use Titanium Backup for backup and restore of apps. So backing up the apps on Froyo and restoring them on the GB ROM through Titanium is fine correct? I hope so cause I have already done this once lol.
She does use ADW EX so restoring that wont be an issue.
So If I just backup all the apps with Titanium, then flash the ROM+Bootloader mentioned above, then restore the apps with Titanium Backup it should be fine?
I assume doing this would not have changed the kernel at all. Should I flash some sort of GB kernel while im at it?
I really appreciate all your guys help on this one. Im more nervous about doing this stuff cause the phone isnt mine lol. If it were mine I would be flashing all day long! But in this case I want to get it right the first time.
Just an update. I did the above and it fixed up the rainbow screen. Thank you all for your help. I couldnt have done it without you guys. GF is now happy with her newly updated Octane rom
