This is assuming that you already have installed the EG2 leak. No kernel or radio is included with this.
I am just throwing this out here in case anyone would like it. I will not support this as it is not a quality release by any means. This is slightly debloated (some Verizon apps) but not tweaked in any way shape or form. It is rooted, deodexed, zip aligned and nothing more. There is a wifi bug in this version.
To install:
Odin the EG2 leak
boot into recovery
Wipe data
Install from zip

The odin leak comes with the kernel, radio, rom, and imnuts' recovery. This package is for a rom only.
I assume we don't have to wipe data if we already installed the leak and wiped then?...We can just flash this right and then flash your mods?

Yes you will need to wipe after installing the leak. The leak is not deodexed.
After you wipe and install this rom then you may install the mods.
Nitro, can you do me a favor and hook me up with fully bloated deodexed framework and app folders. i deodexed it last night before i fell asleep but never loaded it up on my phone. then i had to run to work and i want to work on gb but my work computer wont let me load up the tools i need to deodex cause the network protection is flagging it as a trojan. so if you could hook that up i would appreciate it.

Hi everyone, last night I rooted my Charge with Odin. Flashed EE4 debloated, CWM, voodoo lag fix, SD card patch. Took 5 minutes, not a problem in the world. I just forgot to make a back up of the stock rom before flashing. How do I go about getting back to stock and making a back up, then reflashing it all?

There is no point in backing up if you are talking about using CWM. The backup and restore function do not work correctly yet which is why Imnuts removed it from his most current build of CWM.
FYI it is not that backup won't work but when you restore it will brick the device.
Ok. Can i use another method besides CWM?

I got a request earlier today to make deodexed versions of the EP3HA release, as I had made for the EP1W (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1260214) release. So here it is. These files are 7zip just like the original release from TBH. I tried .zip .rar and .7z and found the highest compression was with .7z so thats what I used.
There are absolutely no changes from the TBH release except that it is deodexed. It will delete all data and leave you stock rooted, including the recovery, so you will certainly want to follow up your ODIN flash with a flash of CWM 4.0.0.8, which is also attached.
EP3HA Full Deodexed
EP3HA Debloat Deodexed
CWM Recovery 4.0.0.8
In case you want to use the Debloated version, but there are still some apks that you want from the full version, here is a link with all of the original apks from the full version:

Yes, that is the stock theme. However, because it is deodexed, you can either theme it yourself, or use a theme that is already out there.

Deodexed allows [easy] theme creation and install. It is possible to theme without deodexing, but its more difficult. Aside from that, no advantages that I know of. Some have claimed performance differences one way or the other, but I don't think there is any substantial difference.
If you are asking what is deodexing...http://www.addictivetips.com/mobile/what-is-odex-and-deodex-in-android-complete-guide/. Basically, for each apk there is an odex file, by deodexing you combine them into a single file.

Buzzing, popping crackling noise issue solved?
I've had issue with buzzing, popping crackling noise during a phone call running several different Gingerbread roms, until I encountered this one. I honestly don't know the reason or the cause of the buzzing noise running on other GB roms prior to this one.
I've been running the full deodexed version of this ROM for a few days now, and it has been running flawlessly, no more buzzing noise issue so far. I made sure I took cautious steps installing it. First, I installed the factory EE4 rom properly, back to stock, before I odin this rom. Then I installed Imnut's [8-17-11] Clockwork Mod Recovery (the orange version), and backed up everything. Then I installed imoseyon's GB kernel, v3.1.0, and backed up everything. I use GO Launcher EX (not a big fan of TW stock launcher).
I'll continue testing and will report if I run into the same issue.

Lol. No prob. FYI, when I said I ran a backup, I was using CWM 4.0.1.4 to do an image backup of the whole system.
I hope that solves your buzzing issue. I'm still buzz-free so far.
Well I just made a couple phone calls and no buzzing or crackling. I hope it holds out. I didn't do the cwm backup. Do you think that's necessary to avoid the static noise?

No, no effect to the static noise issue.
I just recently discovered this nifty tool (cwm backup) myself. The image backup/restore feature lets you backup your current system, as a whole, in case you want to restore it at later date. It stores it into a file in clockworkmod folder. Usually whenever I'm satisfied the way my system works, I'd back it up to the card. And if I want to try a different ROM, for example, I'd run a backup before flashing the new ROM, and if I feel like going back to my previous system, I can just restore it from the card. I may choose to backup the new system prior to doing that, just in case I want to flip back to it. The feature seems to be working well for me. YMMV.
Hi guys,
I am a noob when it comes to android and dumb enough, I just flashed my galaxy s 4g using Rom Manager... now, my phone looks just like when i first bought my phone. Basically, all of the applications are not there (although superuser is still there!) and along with that, android market is gone...
I know I know, I shouldn't have used Rom Manager!
Here are the list of things that i have done:
rooted my phone using OneClickRoot
tried to use Rom Manager to flash my rom but failed
Downloaded recovery and CWM Final and placed it in my /system/bin and /sdcard
Once again, i used Rom Manager to download one of the Rom (I don't know even know the name of it) that was available on Rom Manager and i proceeded to continue and install the rom using Rom Manager
After installation was done, my phone rebooted to main menu which looks just my when i first bought my phone. ( spacey back ground with all apps missing)
Now, i can't even download any apps and all of my contacts are gone (can't even add gmail account some reason)
Any help would be great!
Have you tried doing a factory data reset? It won't bring your contacts back & you'll have to re-setup your Google account.
Yeah, I tried factory reset already... Nothing changes. I know I need to sync with my gmail account but for some reason, syncing with gmail is not on the option....

You might get differing opinions on that question. Even when referencing the GB leaks one might consider those stock. I would be one of those. LOL. Custom to me is adding drhonk's kernels, Octane, Valhalla, AOSP, etc.
If you follow the GB starter pack that FBis251 has in his signature, you'll be good to go.
The key, it seems, is getting your phone back on good boot loaders.
I just wanted to thank everyone for the help with my previous question. Now that I got that fixed, I have another question regarding Titanium Backup Pro and Clock Work Mod for the galaxy S 4G. I downloaded the key for the Titan. Backup to make it Pro. I installed Titan. backup fine no problem. Them when I try to install the key that would make it Pro, a popup came up that said: "Titan. Backup Pro cannot be installed. Free up some space and try again." Well I searched around and found that I should clear the dalvik cache using Clock Work Mod.
My question is how would I install Clock Work Mod on my device and How would I go about clearing the davlik cache using Clock Work Mod?
Are there going to be problem after clearing the davlik cache? And if further on along the line, I want to flash ROM's, should I clear my davlik cache every time just to be safe?
Thank you for the help if you guys/gals can help out.
First off are you running a custom rom? Or are you running stock?
Is your phone rooted?
I am running stock ROM Froyo. Yes, it is rooted.
I'll have to leave it to somebody else to help. so long since I've run froyo... That I wouldn't know were to start lol... plus at the moment I am driving

I was wondering about flashing a ROM like the ICS port, the AOKP one. But I figured that it would be a lot safer if I had a backup of all my data first so I decided to get Titan. Backup. to do the job. and that was what landed me where I am right now.

In case you are unaware, you cannot use the guide in the first post as Kies mini will not recognize rooted phones.
To be honest I wouldn't worry about all that if you end up going with gingerbread or ice cream sandwich just go for it
Ah, the thing is I'm also interested in Titan.'s other feature's like freezing apps and stuff like that. Add to that the fact that I bought the app already that would make the regular version turn into the Pro version.

If you have bought titanium backup pro you should have gotten a file emailed to you that you put on your sdcard. Once its there just run regular TiB as its the same but the license will unlock other features.
As for keeping data across the different os's I personally dont recommend saving anything but non system apps. If you want to save texts use sms backup and restore from the play store. Otherwise start fresh that way you dont introduce new bugs into the phone.

Gremlin Remover or Heimdall KJ6 One-Click. The reason is they will both flash bootloaders for you. I referred the OP to the Heimdall One-Click guide because of the more detailed directions and pictures.
So I should just flash a ROM like GB or the AOKP Team Acid ROM anyway right and forget about Froyo? Then install Clock Work Mod on my device or does Clock Work Mod come with the ROM's themselves? If I flash a new ROM, will my dalvik cache be cleared so that I would have enough space to install things? How would I be able to save my contacts, just save them to my SIM card and they should be fine right? Would flashing a new ROM take up my phones internal memory?

You need to flash a gb rom with bootloaders if you are on froyo. Otherwise you will be back upset your phone is broke.
A custom recovery is included in all roms. Once you flash part of the instructions are to factory reset/ data wipe in recovery.
Back you contacts up to the sdcard if you dont use google contacts otherwise you wont be able to access them from the ICS variants.
Yes like I stated when installing a new rom part of it is doing a factory reset/data wipe.
If you really do want to stay on Froyo and you want CWM... then this should work for you:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1099374
But yeah, you should definitely consider upgrading to Gingerbread asap, *especially* if you're wanting to flash custom ROMs later on down the line. Use the Heimdall One-Click sticked in the development forum.
Eollie i bought tb pro and all that's done is it applies as an app nothing different than when you get tb originally from the market
Lol if you do gremlin remover one click you don't have to make an extra step of flashing a cwr kernel.
As I'm aware heimdall doesn't do it
So, I currently have Tweaked V2.2 and was going to upgrade to V3.0. I understand it's best to go back to stock, get the OTA updates, then Odin to tweaked 3.0.
Obviously, this will get rid of any apps I currently have installed as well as all the additional data I have on my phone. My question is what do you guys recommend doing to prepare for restoring apps and such? Do you:
1) Copy everything on the phone and/or memory card to a folder on your computer?
2) Write down the names of all apps so you can download them again?
3) Use an app for backup and then just restore everything after that fact?
I'm not opposed to using an app for backup but if it's going to undo the purpose of having wiped everything and reinstalling everything, am I better off just reinstalling all apps from scratch?
I looked in previous threads and saw the mybackup tool was recommended but it's an old thread and I wanted to know what people are currently using (and hopefully get to understand what we are trying to wipe to prepare for the app update). Thanks!
Use titanium backup. Once you have it started go to menu then batch then backup all user apps + system data. When you flash your phone download it again and go to batch then restore missing apps with data. Then you can look in the list for system apps you still want (apps backed up but not installed will have a line through the name) and also restore stuff like wifi networks, sms/mms etc.
Out of curiosity, when you restore your phone to stock settings, do you recommend removing your SD card, clearing out your SD card, or does it affect the SD card at all?
Probably a really basic question (I imagine it only affects the phone itself) but I just wanted to make sure that I clear everything that needs to be cleared. Thanks for the quick response!

FWIW, might want to make note of the kernel you are on now. I would recommend to get on stock FP1 first (I know that Odin will/should fix that, but you never know with these things).
here's what I did (coming from tweaked 2.2, 0504 PBJ, EXT4):
1.) flashed 0524 PBJ
2.) converted back to RFS
3.) flashed stock FP1
4.) ODIN tweaked 2.2
5.) flashed the FP5 updaterizer and then the stock FP5
6.) flashed via CWM tweaked 3

Thanks for the recommendation. Out of curiosity, why go to Tweaked V2.2 before going to Tweaked 3.0? Technically, I'm already on 2.2 so I don't really understand why I would want to go back to stock, then go back to Tweaked 2.2 and then going to Tweaked 3.0.

can't recall why I did this, except maybe to perform a clean install. i suppose you don't need to, but from what I understand, flashing something via ODIN is like performing a data wipe and then installing a ROM all in one swing.
but as I mentioned, these were the steps I took - so no guarantee that it will work for you. but if saves you 30 minutes, why not?

PB&J doesn't convert between RFS and Ext4. You have to use this:
http://rootzwiki.com/topic/3426-kernel-gb-imoseyon-kernel-stock-repacked-v400-11611/
Then Voodoo Sound will do the converting. PB&J supports EXT4 but it doesn't convert.
